  1. Budget (including currency): 15 000 sek ( 1400 USD ish) Country: Sweden Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming and browsing. I play games like Helldivers 2, fortnite and valorant etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I currently have a very shitty prebuilt pc and I'm in a despearate need of an upgrade. I'm thinking of buying these parts: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600 Graphics card: Gigabyte Radeon RX 7700 XT 12GB Gaming OC Chassi: Phanteks Eclipse G360A Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI RAM: Corsair Vengeance 32 GB (2x16GB) SSD: Kingston KC3000 M.2 2TB Power supply: GIGABYTE UD750GM CPU cooler: DeepCool AG400 Is this a good build within my budget? I don't know anything about computers, I just want the games I play to run smoothly with good graphics. I have two monitors. I'm gonna upgrade my current monitor i use for gaming as well. I'm propably gonna buy a 144hz monitor but i'm not sure if I should go for 1440p or 1080p. Will this build be able to handle 1440p with decent fps?
  2. Hello There, So this is my last resort cause I was not able to find much useful and working info on this on the web. So I have a gaming laptop and the specs are as follows: HP - 15-ec2xx CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800H Graphics 1: RTX 3050 mobile, Memory: 4GB GDDR6 SDRAM Graphics 2: (Integrated) AMD Cezanne - Internal GPU, Memory: 512 MB DDR4 SDRAM RAM: 32GB DDR4 So my issues are: Whenever I start a game (GTA5 and RDR), the RTX graphics card or AMD card is used. I won't use the RTX card often and that makes the CPU go nuts it takes most of the game load and overheats. To make sure I am not making any other cooling mistakes. I made sure to clean my laptop and also did a repaste, the temps did improve and reduced quite a bit but the GPU issues persist. The second issue I have is that I am not able to train any AI&ML models, I know that 4GB is a pretty low amount of RAM to do any AI&ML training but it's also more than enough to train a few small models to manage quite minute tasks. and I use Python Torch for basic AI&ML training and torch won't acknowledge the RTX GPU nor the AMD GPU and tries to build/train the model using the CPU. What I did to tackle this: I tried a multitude of driver options and also installed dev support for my GPU. I tried installing Ubuntu in duel boot and tried running my training model on that but the same issue persists. I tried using other libraries to train the models and they also failed to detect the GPUs. I tried installing any drivers I found and ran all the tests, but none worked. I tried the Nvidia-utils to detect I have the GPU present and that worked. What should I do? What can I do? How can I determine the issue?
  3. Budget (including currency): £2200 (British Ppunds) Country: UK Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming only Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Putting together a new build and looking for any advice/feedback. I've been PC gaming for years but this is my first time not using a system builder and building myself, want to make sure I'm not making any mistakes. This will be used exclusively for gaming, on a 27" 1440p monitor. I am in budget, but if there are any changes that would be better made, like going with a i7 over an i5 and changing something else to balance costs, I'm open to suggestions. Admittedly some of the choices are for aesthetics, like the white gpu/fans and cooler. 5. Greetings, I recently have purchased a Steelseries stratos+ controler due to it having USB c for charging. I wanted to use it with my PC by utilizing a Bluetooth dongle. However while waiting for the delivery I found out that it doesn't support Wireless connection with Windows. Is there any walk-around to be able to use it wirelessly with Windows?

  7. Hi forum. I'm trying to decide between the University of Colorado Boulder and Purdue University. My major is Aerospace Engineering. I love both campuses and the classes I saw. Obviously CU has a nicer surrounding area but it also seems like Purdue has newer facilities. I was accepted into Purdue honors so that's a big draw for me and I'm still waiting on CU honors. If anyone has any experience with this stuff I'd love the advice/help. Which campuses are better? Does one offer something that the other doesn't? What about student outcomes and experiences not covered in their websites? Everyone I talk to at each school says they love it so I'm not worried about making a 'wrong' choice but obviously I want to make a good choice for the next 4 years. Hopefully it doesn't come down to a coin toss! Thanks!
  8. Hello people, My old GTX 1080 recently started giving up and since I'm on a budget I found a used MSI GTX 1080ti Fe on eBay for a decent price (185€ negotiable). Unfortunately, this 1080ti is equipped with Heatkiller IV water-cooling an I would have to build it back to air-cooling so I can use it in my build. The seller told me he has all the original parts and I would only need new cooling pads. I would like to ask you guys if anyone thinks it would be a good idea to buy this card and if there are any decent guids on how to build this card back for a noob who never messed with opening a GPU? Thank you in advance :D
  9. ***Massive wall of text incoming but I beg you guys, hear me out and help a guy out, I'm going insane here.*** So.. A few days ago a friend of mine was upgrading from his 2070 and asked if I wanted his old 2070, and since I still had the good 'ol GTX 970 I jumped at his offer. Basically straight away I noticed massive FPS drops in pretty much every game I tested, everything from games like Escape from Tarkov, Apex Legends, Fortnite.. hell, even EA Sports PGA Tour to games like Tibia, a game that you could run on a PC from '96. I've spent the last 4-6 days Googling my ass off, been trying maybe 50 "fixes" by now but nothing has worked.. From all the searching I've done I've noticed that it seems to be a pretty common problem with certain GPU's that they get massive FPS drops for whatever reason. First I found a guy that at first sounded like he had the exact same problem as me, he went from a 970 to a 2070 and his theory was that the FPS drops was caused by the fact that he now had a main monitor with displayport at 144hz and his second monitor now had a hdmi with 60hz since he no longer could use his DVI cable since the "new" gpu only had display/hdmi ports and his second monitor was only able to run 144hz with DVI just like mine.. I tested everything people said in that thread but nothing helped, I even disconnected my second monitor just to see if that would fix my FPS drops, but no. Found some other guy on reddit that said he downloaded "nvidiaProfileInspector" and switched a setting from "single display performance mode" to "Multi display performance mode" which did nothing for me. And yes, I've updated BIOs, Nvidia drivers, disabled Nvidia Sound Drivers, turned off all weird Windows settings you can think of all from game bar, game mode, power settings and you name it, shut down iCUE, Afterburner, Xbox Apps... 11. So as of right now i use a Ryzen 5 2600 with the RX 6700xt which i upgraded form the GTX 1650, i am looking to upgrade my CPU from the Ryzen 5 2600 to something better. I have my eyes on the Ryzen 7 5700x right know but i do not know if that is a good choice or not, i checked the compatibility with my Motherboard which is a ASRock B450-HDV R.4 which to my knowledge can run the Ryzen 7 5700x after i upgraded the BIOS which i did. Or should i upgrade to AM5? but i have a budget of like 150 $US or something like that, i'm not living in the US though. My Computer Specs as of right now is : CPU : Ryzen 5 2600 GPU : RX 6700xt MotherBoard : ASRock B450-HDV R.4 RAM : 16x2 GB 3200 MHz DDR4 (Limiting it now because CPU only supports upto 2933 MHz) PSU : 500W PSU 80+ Silver(I Think) Applications i'm using are : Blender (Later) Photoshop Video Editing Games that i wanna play : Cyberpunk CS2 BG3 Valorant Thanks and help me.
  12. Hello, I am just wondering if my gpu is at a safe temp while gaming. It normally averages around 85 - 89 degrees when gaming. Now I have repasted the gpu however it has just not gotten any cooler. Now it is an asus rx 580 8gb and a dual card so I'm not so overly worried but I need this card to last me an extra 5 months and it has been with me for a while nearly everyday so it's been through what I say 'discomfort'. So my question is, is is this a safe temperature and last me a little longer. I've had it about 4 years and apparently gpu's only last 3-5 years so I'm worried is 85-89 degrees celsuis safe? (185-192 Fahrenheit)

My idea was upgrading the following to: AIO Arctic LF lll 360mm HDD: Samsung 980pro 1TB Case: 4000D ariflow PSU: RM850x SHIFT It´s newer parts for keeping the pc temps cooler, But that of course won´t do anything fps related. but if i upgrade the gpu i still have an old AIO and psu, and dont know how long those part will last. 14. Issue: Friends computer screen suddenly went black (the screen is still on, and the monitor is getting signal, but nothing is happening). We took his GPU and installed it into my rig, and it initially posted, but ended up going black as well. I shut down the computer, and every time that I tried to boot, the screen would go black after motherboard screen appeared. The monitor is still getting signal on my rig as well, it just refuses to post once my BIOS has loaded. I have a custom keyboard, and the keyboards lights would initially turn on while the computer is turning on, but would turn off when the screen went black. My keyboard's lights only work when it is able to boot into windows / access the software on my computer. So with the keyboard's lights not turning on, it appears that the GPU is preventing windows from loading. Does anyone know what could be causing this issue with my friends GPU? 15. So I've basically already decided on the 6800 but I wanted to hear what some of you guys think and if maybe I should go for the 6800xt instead and or if the 6700XT and 6800 are so comparable it that I should go with the cheaper one. As far as I know the 6800 is better than the 6700XT by quite a bit.
  16. So I will be upgrading my pc within the next 5 ish weeks and I've decided to change my 6500xt out for a 6800, my current CPU is an i5-11400f and I wanted to know how much better an i7-11700 is and of its worth it or if there are better options for upgrading my CPU. I mostly play Rainbow 6 Siege, Asseto Corsa Competizion, Fortnite, and Minecraft, and yes I know that Fortnite and Minecraft don't need much to run them but I play both in a competitive scene so things do get laggy when alot is going on. So basically I'm just wondering if the i7-11700 is that much better that I should upgrade or if there is another CPU that is worth it.
  17. Hi I want to upgrade my pc, in term of speed and that's it really. I also bought some part already and I was wondering if this suffice or maybe I need more. (P.s I bought this part couple of months back because I thought these part is good enough and also my budget was very tight back then). -H61+/B75 motherboard -Intel i3 2100 3.1 GHz -(2×8) GB RAM DDR3 1333 MHZ -SSD M2 NVME 128 GB And (I think) this is my current setup -Intel i5 650 socket 1156 -Motherboard Chipset Intel h55 -8GB (4×2) RAM DDR3 -500GB HDD -GTX 950 -Casing Varro/power up standard My current budget right now is around 60 dollar (I live in the third world country so most computer part is probably affordable I think....) so I was hoping I can get a good recommendations and hopefully I can run some cpu dependant game or just be able to play Witcher 3 smoothly lol. Thank you very much to anyone reading this.
  18. My new computer has been having some issues. Specs CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X 4.5 GHz 8-Core Processor GPU: Gigabyte GAMING OC Rev 2.0 GeForce RTX 3060 12GB 12 GB Video Card MotherBoard: MSI PRO B650-P WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard Ram: G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 Memory CPU Cooler: be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 50.5 CFM CPU Cooler Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart 700 W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply I've had this issue where when I turn on my computer the screen stays black and then I have to turn it off and then on and usually that gets it open. once the screen turns on this screen shows up with a bunch of text and at the bottom of it, it says device not found. then it shows my motherboard brand where I can go to bios and then I'm in. I have no idea how to fix this and want it to stop. NewProblem 2. My Computer monitors have been randomly going black and all of my hardware turns off, so my mic, keyboard mouse, and headphones but my computer stays on. I've noticed that an orange and red light turns on on my motherboard and the way I've fixed this issue is just by turning it off and on again and problem 1 still occurs. This just started today and I don't know what triggers it, but it has happened 3 times now and after the first time my computer had only been back on for about an hour and then the 2nd time was only 30 minutes. 3rd Problem. Whenever I try to download AMD Adrenaline I get two conflicting errors. the first error tells me that my graphics driver is not compatible with Adrenaline and it gives me a link to a compatibility software driver checker. When I download and run it, it tells me that my drivers are actually compatible and the problem persists
  19. So i built my gaming pc about 6 months ago and i have been using linux to game. Everything has been pretty good but linux has been having problems for me because there isn’t a lot of games that work great on linux and I can’t just have that on a daily basis where I just want to sit down and just game. So i went ahead and installed windows 11 on my pc. The installation went good (though i had to use a lan cord for wifi because the wifi drivers were not installed). At first I was freaking out because my resolution was super low, I still couldn’t access wireless Wi-Fi, and I had no sound and a couple other problems. Then I remembered I needed to install the drivers so I went ahead on AMD‘s website and installed the necessary drivers for my GPU and then I can finally change my resolution and I finally had sound. I then installed the motherboard drivers (gigabyte) which gave me wireless Wi-Fi as well as installing other drivers and it updated my bios as well. I was really nervous at first when I had all those problems but finally I solved it and now I am ready to game. I went ahead and installed steam, GOG galaxy, epic games launcher, and ubisoft connect and i also installed Alan Wake 2 (on epic games launcher), Assassin’s Creed Mirage (on ubisoft connect), and Black Ops 3 (on steam). I first wanted to play Black Ops 3 so I booted it up and I immediately went to the graphics settings to set those graphics all the way up but I saw that the resolution was actually higher than my display resolution which was weird so I went ahead and lowered it to my display resolution (which is 4k) and then immediately Black Ops 3 had a black screen with the sound just playing. I then went to Steam and press the stop button to quit Black Ops 3 but that didn’t work so I had to close down steam itself and eventually Black Ops 3 closed. I thought that was very weird and I tried opening up Black Ops 3 again and it wouldn’t even open up at all and I think it also gave me a error (i don’t remember). So I then tried Alan Wake 2 and that booted up but it then froze right when it went to fullscreen and I can only see the developer logo. I then had to reset my pc to close the game. I then tried out Assassin Creed Mirage and the exact same problem happened where when starting it up it would freeze right on the policy text. I didn’t know what to do and I was really pissed so I did a complete reinstall of Windows 11 thinking maybe because I updated my bios and it just needed a complete reinstall. So I did just that and did all of the steps that I did which was set up windows 11 and install the GPU and motherboard drivers. I then went ahead and just installed Steam and try out Half-life. Half-life was working completely fine though when pressing escape to pause the game it was a little bit of a delay. Then I had hope but when trying out Tomb Raider 2013 it opened up fine but I saw that my FPS was low so I went ahead and go to the graphic settings and my refresh rate was at 24 so once I bring it up to 60 the game went to a black screen and then it froze on the settings. I tried backing out and closing the game but some reason closing the game in Steam doesn’t work and I had to quit steam again. I tried it again and it gave me an error but after resetting my PC and trying it again I went to Tomb Raider and my refresh rate was still low so I had to go to the settings and bring it up and it did the exact same thing as earlier. Other problems I have is some apps won’t open like my AMD driver app which won’t open at all but I see that it’s open in the background because on the bottom right when I press the arrow it tells you which apps are open or not and it is open but I don’t see it. Sometimes my motherboard driver app doesn’t open but sometimes it does. Anyway I really am pissed off because I thought I wouldn’t have any problems when switching to windows to play my games but instead I’m having more problems than ever and man I just want to go ahead and sit down and play my games. Sorry this post is pretty long but i want to give all the details and i probably forgot some stuff but these are the issues that I am having on the top of my head. Now I’m pretty tech savvy but I can’t put my finger on why I’m having all of these problems. Please someone help me. 21. Hi, I am currently trying to upgrade some cash registers, so they don't just land in the trash. Current system specs Motherboard: Partner S1-J1900-A CPU: Intel Celeron J1900 HWiNFO Display My issue right now, is that I cannot figure out, how I can connect the touch display. There are 3 cables that I need to connect. I am assuming that 1st is for data, 2nd is for power and the 3rd is for touch. 20 pin connector => Only 18 pins 5 Pin connector => Only 4 pins 4 Pin connector My thought was looking for a board that maybe I can connect those cables to and then a HDMI or DisplayPort cable comes out of the other end. Not sure how I would get the touch display working though. Does anyone have an idea? I am curious and excited for your help! Let me know if you need anymore information.
  22. Installed new set of RAM (G.Skill Trident Z Neo 3600 Cl16 2x16Gb) and have enabled XMP profile on my mobo/bios, then checked task manager and its still running at 2133. Not sure if task manager is a valid way to check speed and if I'm even setting my Ram speeds correctly, but id like to use it to its specified capabilities. RAM is installed in slots 1 and 3, not sure if that's any use. Lemme know if I'm being dumb or if you've got any fix to this please, in need of assistance! Thanks heaps! 23. Hello everyone, I want to start out by saying that I posted this earlier today and had marked it as resolved. But as it turns out, it wasn’t resolved. The pc repair shop guy said the card was working normal in the shop, so we then concluded it was the shitty psu. I bought a msi mag a850G, set it all up, updated my motherboard bios, did a ddu once again on the 1080 I had on the system, and even after all this, the 3070 still doesn’t output an image… I also saw on the psu website that there might be a correct orientation of the pcie cables when a card has 2 8pin pcie requirement, I have followed that precisely. I Have also swapped around the pcie connectors exchanging them from right to left to left to right. Still nothing. In case you’re wondering if ram is a problem, my 16gb get detected correctly in bios and in windows with the 1080 plugged in. I really am out of options, and in need of a miracle lol Below I will leave the original transcript of the previous post I had done. Yesterday I bought a second hand EVGA FTW3 Ultra RTX 3070 from a guy I know. He sent me a video of it working prior to me buying it. I have no reason to not believe in him. Before this purchase I had a gtx 1080 on my pc which worked fine. Sometimes the pc would randomly shut down, but I gave that up to regular windows shenanigans... I have already done somewhat extensive troubleshooting and have narrowed things down. With this post I'm just setting myself up in case of either two things. 1 I missjudge something and have not proceded in a correct way or 2 I have done everything that i could have and it's either a problem of the psu or the card. I will know provide you with a list of specs and a list of the things i've done to try and remediate the current situation. PC SPECS i5 11400f with aio 16GB DDR4 corsair platinum ram - XMP 1 3200MHz GTX 1080 / RTX 3070 Gigabyte B560M Aorus Elite M-ATX Motherboard 80+ Bronze 700W Kolink PSU (Don't quite know the exact model, but those are correct specs) (Recommended psu Watts for the 3070 is 650 btw) (Have now bought an msi mag a850g as said in the beginning) 2 Sata SSD's one is 1tb, and the other is the boot drive with 512gb capacity Windows 11 Home - activated Troubleshooting First i ran ddu with all its recommended settings, but without being in safemode and without unplugging the ethernet; (Which I realized later might have been a mistake that led to my current situation) After running ddu and asking it to automatically shut down, i plugged in the 3070 and it gave me no display. I tried all ports (1 hdmi and 3 DP), none gave me a signal, but everything was as it should except for the fact that it did not give me image. My thoughts were this might be a psu problem because of the random shutdowns and whatnot, but now i don't think so as i've found the correct way to use DDU which i will be doing once again when i get home from work. Other solutions were, using two separate pcie cables, because before i was using a single one to power my 8+6 Pin 1080. This was so because my psu has two separate pcie cables, both with dual 8 pin ends. I think you get what i'm saying if not, just let me know and ill try to explain better. Unfortunately this did not work. RTX 3070 needs 2 8 pin pcie cables fyi. I then plugged in my 1080 but this time with the two different pcie cables instead of just one with the dual 8 pin. This worked on my 1080 so the cables were not the issue. I also tried a cmos flash with a screwdriver, which also did not work. After that i tried formatting my pc with a bootable usb. Whilst inside the windows 11 configuration i was obviously using my 1080, and i had the ethernet plugged in so it grabbed drivers for that. After the configuration i shut down the pc and tried the 3070, to no avail. So i think that narrows it down to a faulty utilization of the DDU program. When I get home I will use it correctly in safe mode and will be unplugging the ethernet. Also, I will download rtx 3070 drivers beforehand, just in case something weirds out idk. Let me know if this is the correct approach or if i am missing something. I will update this post once i have tried this. Have you any other suggestions? Thanks for taking the time! UPDATE 1 So, I will have the card brought to a pc repair shop in my local area so they can plug it in and tell me if it's workng or not. The guy from the shop has told me that he does not think it's a psu issue, as, even though the psu might not be the best, it should be able to handle the card in a low usage environment i.e booting up the system. Because it does do just fine with the gtx 1080 I have which, according to him, does pull more power to turn on compared to an rtx 3070, so that somewhat excludes the psu as a problem. UPDATE 2 Card works, as per the pc repair shop guy. I will buy a new psu and see how it goes.
