Hi everyone, looking for a tech tip. I'm having issues with my Sennheiser headset. When I use it via Bluetooth, selecting the "Headset" option as the output in Windows, I get weird noises, as if the headset was skipping a beat or something, and also some tapping noises. If I select "Headphones" the sound is perfectly fine yet I can't use that output for Discord for some reason. I tried a Jabra headset and I don't get this issue at all (it also allows me to select either Headset or Headphones as the output), so I assume the issue is with the Sennheiser headset itself. Any idea on how to possibly fix this? I recorded the headset playing a 432Hz sound where it can be clearly heard how it "skips a beat" every now and then. Thanks in advance! Hello, I have a random, weird question. I have a Corsair virtuoso XT. I can be on separate Bluetooth channels and still receive audio in both at the same time. My question is if the computer is a work computer that is sometimes monitored would they be able to hear the audio coming from the other channel not connect to the work computer? Just a random thought I was curious about.

Does anyone know why my headset's mic isn't working or showing up in device manager? It was fine working and then I unplugged it to move my pc and now it isn't showing up.

I am writing this topic as a critique on a episode released 4 years ago, in which Linus and his crew test surround sounds solutions in a rather simplistic methodology. The solutions tested are shown below. Now here is the critique: most headsets are referred to as software solutions. This however sketches an incomplete picture as each software solution is tested with possibly a different headset. Consequently, this favors Dolby Atmos as the best solution cause it is likely tested on the corsair hs50. Which is known for its superior imaging capabilities. What imaging is: Imaging qualities are inherent to the audio content; the headphones have to 'reproduce' them rather than 'create' them. They determine how accurately the objects are positioned in the stereo image and how transparent the imaging is. In other words: it measures the differences between the right and left speaker. This is often measured in both latency and phase delay. Headsets with correct imaging produce identical sounds in both ears at the same time, while bad imaging produces non identical sounds at different delays. Now it might be understandable how imaging can influence surround sound effectiveness and how it incorrectly shows the performance of for example DTS as a surround solution. Here is how the surround sound should have been compared: Software solutions should have been tested on the same hardware. Eliminating the differences in imaging between headsets. Then each and every hardware solution should have been tested with every possible software solution. Fun fact: did u know that the Razer Tiamat 7.1 is compatible with Dobly Atmos Home Theater?!? Interestingly Razer also warns users about incorrectly setting up the audio on their pc, as not properly enabling surround sound on the computer can result in only 2 out of the 7 audio channels to be properly used by the computer. Final Thoughts: I really hope this video gets revisited sometime cause it hurts me to see how the industry has changed due to this video. True surround headsets are no longer being produced like they used to, while Dolby Atmos is being referred to as the holy grail. But when it comes down to it, the tests were performed rushed and incomplete. Currently the best way of comparing actual surround is by using https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tests/changelogs as their tests were performed more accurately. The only thing that they are still missing is the comparison between software solutions. Greetings, G3NTs Here the video in question:

I have a pair of Logitech Astro A30s and I'd like to modify their firmware. Tbh the headphones are pretty great for what I need! Just the firmware is sooo bad. There's weird volume changes, the headphones go to sleep if I'm too still for too long, the sound effect for connecting to a Bluetooth source is painfully loud, ect. I do have experience with programming, and I'm fairly tech savvy, but I haven't worked with firmware before. I was hoping I could get some insight from more experienced people into how difficult this will be to do, or if possible some resources on how to do this. (Also, please don't just tell me to get different headphones, I legitimately do like almost everything but the firmware, and some of the things I want from headphones are hard to find.)

So to make a long post as short as i can i been troubleshooting a driver issue for 2 weeks now and I've ruled out every possible cause down to just a single driver version not being the correct one. I use game bar on window every single day to chat with friends who are either also on pc or playing on their xbox. I use an xbox controller with a connect xbox headset that suddenly stopped working about 2 weeks ago for no reason. I've test the device on 4 other computers ranging from windows 10 to 11 that were all up to date on everything. However the driver i have on the problem computer (10.0.22621.1) is a later version and the other 4 computers have the exact same older version (10.0.19041.1) and showing no available updates. I will include images for that. After doing every single other possible IT move under the sun the I've decided i need to move the driver back. However there is no rollback option, its greyed out and i cant copy system32 drivers from the old pc to thew new one. I need to roll this driver back to the older one and i don't know how. Please help.

Hello there reader, I currently have a problem with my USB C Dongle for the Steelseries Artics Nova 7. It worked fine until I decided to upgrade from a 1660 super to a 4060 ( Roast me ) but It was a good upgrade in my case. I had used DDU but I got crashes mid game so I decided to reset my PC and ohh ohh that was a mistake. I downloaded the GPU drivers, Chipset Drivers but yes now I have a problem that if I insert my dongle directly in my motherboard it doesn't work what a bummer. It's working when i use a normal USB to usb C and plug my dongle in to it. It's just not working if I put it in my Motherboard. Please help me with this problem I have tried everything. Specs: r5 3600 b450f Gaming RTX 4060 650W Thank you in advance

Greetings, <Background Information> <Current Issue> My headset is throwing an error code 1-8. I have never experienced this specific error before and I hadn't even turned off my computer since the last play session where it worked. Nothing was installed or changed as far as I'm aware. The HP logo on the headset lights up, windows detects it as an inactive display, but it won't turn on. <Things I've Tried> <Specs> CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3.8 GHz 8-Core Processor Motherboard: MSI MAG B550 TOMAHAWK ATX AM4 Motherboard RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64 GB (2 x 32 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory GPU: EVGA FTW3 ULTRA GAMING GeForce RTX 3090 Ti 24 GB Video Card (Headset plugged in via Cable Matters Displayport Repeater) PSU: Corsair RM1000e (2023) 1000 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply OS: Windows 11 64bit Bios: A.60 I run only one main monitor at native 1920x1080p at 60 Hz. Hello, LTT forum, First-time poster, signed up specifically for this so I apologize if I format this wrong or don't adhere to any standards I'm not aware of. I'm in need of a decent headset, I don't need anything overly flashy, just something that sounds good for me, and good for those I speak to. Budget-wise, can be anywhere on the spectrum since I'm happy to save or wait for a sale I had originally looked at the Corsair HS80's but, they don't work on the Xbox apparently so despite them being perfect for me otherwise that's a no-go The Xbox Largley is the crux of the issue, most of the higher-end headsets i've researched seem to skip it out entirely, which rules them out for me. I had looked at the official Xbox wireless headset but I'm told the Microphone is rather sub-par so I'm unsure of them. All in all, I'm just looking for help to get a headset that works for me, that won't break in a week. Thank you.

This crack has recently been forming on my Arctis Pro Wireless headset though I thought nothing of it and continued using them but today the headset apparently had enough of my use and broke at the connection between the earpiece and the part of the headphones that goes on my head(Pictured below: "diagram" and actual picture of my headset). I've superglued this piece for now but now that I've seen how dirty these headphones have become I'm thinking of getting a new headset: The choices I've looked at are: just get a new pair of these headphones(Arctis Pro Wireless) as my current ones were given to me a few years ago: $249.99 as of 11/13/23 or maybe something that will last such as the DT 990 Pros as I've seen some creators I watch use them: $150 as of 11/13/23 but additional cost concerns are listed below My only concerns with getting something such as the DT 990 Pros is the additional cost of an amp, and separate microphone as I just use the built-in mic with the Steel Series My budget would be around $350 including the DT 990 Pros but I'm open to other options. Also need considerations for amp and separate mic if i were to go with the DT 990 Pros or something similar please help fellas i'd be fine using these headphones until they truly break but maybe its time for an upgrade ALSO WILLING TO WAIT FOR BLACK FRIDAY DEALS Thanks for reading and any help

Hi everyone of this awesome community, I have had the last two weeks the most head breaking problem whit my Bluetooth. It just disappaered, no trace of Bluetooth ever existing on my laptop. I go to setting but couldn't turn it on or off. couldn't add any devices. I tried all this but whit no luck. Things that DID NOT work: Using the Windows 10 quick actions panel to turn on Bluetooth. Result: This option did not appear at all. Using Control Panel's Bluetooth settings. Result: This option did not appear at all. Device Manager - scanning for hardware. Result: No effect. Drivers for the hidden Bluetooth devices were already up to date. Windows Updates. Result: No effect. Reinstalling the recommended Acer drivers for the package (Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377). Result: No effect. Performing a typical restart of Windows. Result: No effect. Using services.msc to start, restart, or reconfigure Bluetooth-related services. Result: No effect. Reinstalling third party driver packages for the same hardware. Result: The installer would not complete because the Bluetooth hardware was not detected. Windows Troubleshooter for Bluetooth. Result: The troubleshooter would not complete because the Bluetooth hardware was not detected. The one thing that fixed it all!! Do a complete shut down (hold SHIFT and shut down the computer), unplug the computer from all power for 10 seconds, plug the computer in and start the computer. It just reappeared and worked fine. Finally this fucking he-adage of a problem is over. I wanted to share this because i noticed lots of people having this problem. My network chip is a Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter in a Acer Aspire E5-575G ligthly modified whit extra ram and storage. Have a great day.

I am utterly baffled by this. This morning I got on my computer and turned on my wireless headset (HyperX Cloud Stinger Core Wireless DTS) and I noticed that it started mic monitoring. I first assumed that maybe it was an update with some software, so I tried unplugging the usb receiver dongle and it continued to monitor the voice input. To be clear, this headset does not have an option for build in mic monitoring, only on, off, and volume control. I tried restarting my pc, my headset, I even tapped it against the wall in hopes that maybe something got loose. Nothing worked, and in the end, I decided to get a new headset because this is not the first issue I've had with this headset. I'm curious if anyone knows anything about this because it makes no sense to me.

My old Solo Beats finally kicked the bucket after a good 5 years of near daily use. I decided that I wanted something a bit better and would (hopefully) last longer, even though 5 years for headphones is a pretty long time. So, I picked up the Studio3's from Beats. (Apple) It's been probably 7-8 months since I got them, so here are the pros and of course with any good review, has the cons. THE PROS These headphones blow my old headphones out the water in terms of sound quality. Instruments are way more clear, bass has a greater punch, and it just sounds well balanced. I know that Beats to the audio geeks out there sound like speakers underwater, but to me they are great. They fit very well on me which helps since I wear them for 3-7 hours a day. Another big thing is noise cancelling. While I don't use it since it makes me feel like my head is in a glass bowl, you don't really need it. The padding and volume is enough for you to basically hear nothing in the outside world. Battery life is amazing since I can go almost a full week on a single charge and it takes maybe 30-45 minutes to fully charge. Battery life is needed in good headphones and these definitely deliver on that. THE CONS The selling point of these headphones, the noise cancelling, is the greatest con. You can't hear anything, so when someone is talking to you, you don't even notice they are. It can be annoying for people to try to talk to you and you are basically ignoring them, but (sometimes) you don't mean to. What I'm saying here is that the noise cancelling is too good, and I'm not complaining about that. The biggest issue is the non-users of these headphones, who are trying to talk to you in-person. Enough ranting, but just have your volume lower and noise cancelling off and you should be alright. CONCLUSION These headphones are great for everyday listening and have excellent battery life. Just have your volume lower when using these. Beats Studio3 Headset Rating: 9.5/10

I did a fresh install of Windows 10 because I wanted to format my SSD and HDD. Whenever I set my headset as the audio output now, audio and video suddenly turn slow motion. The computer itself continues to work normally, just the sound gets obnoxiously slow and choppy. If I'm playing a video on youtube, it also turns slow motion. If I change the audio output on Windows to realtek it immediately works normally, but no sound on the usb headset. I tried a non usb headphone and it works fine. Connecting to Alexa through bluetooth also works. The headset, Edifier G2 II, worked perfectly before resetting Windows. I've also tested it on my laptop, and it still works fine there. I've tried: - Reinstalling realtek drivers (from the motherboard website) - Uninstalling the headset drivers from device manager and downloading them again - Updating headset drivers through device manager (it didn't find a newer version) - Installing the headset drivers from the manufacturer's website Any ideas?

Hi everyone, First time posting here and begging for help I have had an Astro a50 3rd gen for years now and had some problems but nothing I could not fix, I finally decided to upgrade and got the A50 4th Gen immediately after starting use I have this constant ticking noise in the headset (i have tried turning off mic monitor it does not work) I thought this was just a defective headset so I returned it and got the same one and had the exact same problem (note: I did not have this issue with the old 3rd gen) I returned this headset as well thinking it was also just defective. I then purchased the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless and am still having the issue. this lead me to believe that it was a driver issue on my PC after updating drivers it still persisted and I also tried the headset on my MacBook and still had the issue. It is obviously wireless interference so I tired different locations for the bas station all over my desk the furthest from the router I could and still have the problem. I am going to return the SteelSeries regardless as I do not care for it but does anyone have any idea how I can stop this interference issue as I cant really move my setup much.. Thank you!

Hi guys and galls, My PC is suffering from coil whine and it's driving me insane. For those not familiar, coil whine is a relatively high pitch buzzing electrical sound. I tried solving the problem itself but I just had to give up after many tries. Since the sound is still bothering me I figured the next best thing would be getting a good gaming headset. I am thus in the market for a gaming headset that is particularly good at blocking outside noise. Of course sound quality is also important to me, however my main concern is blocking any outside noises. I did some research myself and I'm torn between either the JBL Quantum 910, Steelseries arctis nova pro, and the Turtle Beach stealth pro. I'm curious which one you would get in my situation (budget between these is not a factor). Also open for other suggestions. Thanks in advance

I have support for both DTS:X Ultra and DTS Headphone:X on my laptop but I have no idea which does exactly what. I am curious which one is more optimal for gaming (FPS games mostly) and for music or it is all more or less same together with Windows Sonic for Headphones. Known facts: both have an option to choose specific model of device (headphones, speakers,...) DTS:X Ultra has more features and options within dedicated app (only obtainable via link in myAsus that opens Microsoft Store) DTS Headphone:X is configured via DTS Sound Unbound but besides choosing specific device the only option is Spatial mode: Balanced or Spacious There is slight difference in depth of sound when switching between them - DTS Headphone:X sounds more deeper and bassier I found a video on Techquickie channel "What are Dolby Atmos and DTS:X?" from 3 years ago but even though it explains the technology doesn't answer the question - What is difference between DTS:X and DTS Headphone:X and which one is better for headphone use? Any explanation and advice is very welcomed.

Alright let me fully unload my frustration here. Most of my search was either on Youtube or Reddit. Since almost every headphone related sub is restricted all I could do is read already exciting posts and oh boy wasn't it a mess. Saw a post recommending a headphone only for another to say how bad it is and recommend another only to once again see another claiming how bad that option is. First, I will lay down my requirements. I completely understand that their isn't an all in one solution for a headphone so I will try to specialise it as much as possible. Requirements • Mainly movies and video games. I am a 3D artist by proffesion so these two are the closest things that are really important to me. • Then comes the music. I am not an audiophile by any means and I mostly listen to edm, techno, future rave, dubstep and hip hop. So Kind of bass heavy. But defiently more about the punch and not all the way to how the beats headphones sound. • To sum things up I value a fun listening experience. And my budget is around 300 dollars. Now before you precious people start recommending me with headphones here are a couple of options I kind of settled on but hesistated to purchase. • sennheiser hd 6xx - I read in so many places about how this being a safer pick due to it having a nuetral sound signature but lacking in the fun bass department. • Epos h6pro - I was fully on board with this but linus saying don't buy a gaming headset has kept me off the line with these. • IEM's - I am fine with these but I do know that these lack in a wider sound stage. But if there is an IEM that hits the rest of the marks perfetcly I am fine with bargainning the wider sound stage for it. Even before you guys recommend anything I just wanna say I really appreciate you taking your time reading this through!

So it looks like my current Headsets have had their mic die and taken the connection with it. I'll test some more to 100% confirm my Clouds are dead and not the port but in the mean time, I need to start considering a replacement. Ideally: Closed. I use my headset to play competitive shooters or talk to friends whilst playing these competitive games. I'd hate it to have sound leak back into my mic. Already sometimes was the case with my Clouds... so sound must also be good for games, hearing footsteps etc. Has to have a mic. Uses jacks for connection. USB as an option might be nice? Just pretty sure I'd have to swap in Windows the output device if I switch. With that, I've come to the EPOS H6PRO's. Are they any good? Have I bought into the marketing? Anything I should know about them? Any alternatives? The only one's I've sort of seen are the Sennheiser HD 569's but they are more expensive + I gotta buy the mic separate?

I am looking for a gaming headset with these specs for about 160 euros or 170 dollars: >2.4GHz Wireless, 3.5mm, Bluetooth (optional) >Passive noise reduction >Active noise cancelation >Surround sound >Good battery life or could be used while charging

I'm looking for a wireless headset, I don't really care about sound quality, I do have some requirements: 1. Preferably cost less than $200 CAD (150 USD) 2. Be wireless/bluetooth 3. Have large and comfortable ear cups. The small ones get very uncomfortable. Again, I don't care about sound quality. I just want comfort and durability. Any other information you need, lmk. Thanks
