I am a student in India and I am looking for some good headphones up to 3k rupees. The key features i am looking for are good battery life, and good audio quality, comfortable fit and longevity. I don't expect very premium audio quality but it should be worth what i am paying for... so please suggest me some headphones in this price range which i can use for at least couple of years without any wear and tear.

I'm looking to upgrade my 10 years old headset. Looking at the ROG Fusion II 500, it states this: "ESS 9280 High Resolution Quad-DAC" The headset has 3.5mm jack, USB-C and USB 2.0. Does the built-in Quad-DAC only matter when using USB?

I'm thinking about swapping out my Corsair Void wireless headphones for a pair of wireless Astros or perhaps more audiophile grade wireless headphones and slap on a modmic. I'm only using audiophile to differentiate from your typical gaming style of headphones/headsets. My first "real headphones" where a pair of wired A50's(I think) I bought about 10 years ago. I don't know when exactly but I wanted to go wireless so I got a pair of Voids from Corsair. I think they had just shortly came out at the time I bought them. Looking at the current version of the wireless Astros I like how they handle charging with a dock/pins vs a cable, which mine is starting to crack. I'm just curious before pulling the trigger if there are any "wireless audiophile" headphones with the same or similar method of charging where I don't have to worry about my cable breaking. Oh, and while not a deal breaker I'm thinking of going open-back for audiophile headphones. PS: I will primarily be using these for gaming and YouTube/Movies

Hey everyone, So i finally decided I missed sports games enough to buy a PS5 slim. I didn't pay too much attention when I bought it but unfortunately sony in their infinite wisdom does not include a 3.5mm audio jack anywhere. In fact the only ports are USB-A, USB-C, ethernet (luckily) and HDMI.... So I piped the HDMI with video and audio signal to my monitor... which of course has no speakers because it's a gaming monitor... I thought i'd have to leave my beatuiful hifiman sundara's on the shelf and use a terrible PS5 headset everytime I used the thing until I realized my monitor has a audio passthrough... so I passed it through to my line in on my PC. With a few software tweaks things were running. I had to keep my PC on in order for the soundcard to play the audio through the speakers but at least both devices could use the same speakers. The problem is... with all these connections and chords even in a tight space the signal really loses steam... I can hear it sure but it isn't that rich beautiful audio I've become accustomed to with my Edifier MR4s for speakers and my HIFIman Sundara's. I was going to buy an amp/ dac anyways for the sundaras because they have low volume problems too... that's just due to the impedance though so I expected to have to do that. I'm wondering if it's safe to run a red and white RCA chord to RCA on the back of an amp/ dac output. Then run a RCA to 3.5mm chord from the input to connect the pc. And another aux chord from the Monitor audio passthrough to the 3.5mm input on a amp/dac and then connect the HIFIMAN Sundara's to the front headphone output weather it's quarter inch or 3.5mm doesn't matter sundara's have both. I essentially need an amp dac that can handle the input of a PS5 slim as well as the input from my PC and then output the audio signal to either the headphones or the speakers. I'll never be using the PS5 at the same time as the PC and vice versa. I'll also never need the speakers to play at the same time as the headphones... I'm just really struggling understanding all these audio things. I've also read that if you have powered speakers not bookshelf speakers like i do that you aren't supposed to run them through another amp/dac beecause it can brick them. I ordered the Fiio k5 pro which on their product page says you can run the RCA from your powered speakers to it... so idunno if that is true or not.... I'm just throughly confused and in need of tech tips. PLZ send help. BTW LTT your deskmat is awesome I love it! I have a pair of Logitech Astro A30s and I'd like to modify their firmware. Tbh the headphones are pretty great for what I need! Just the firmware is sooo bad. There's weird volume changes, the headphones go to sleep if I'm too still for too long, the sound effect for connecting to a Bluetooth source is painfully loud, ect. I do have experience with programming, and I'm fairly tech savvy, but I haven't worked with firmware before. I was hoping I could get some insight from more experienced people into how difficult this will be to do, or if possible some resources on how to do this. (Also, please don't just tell me to get different headphones, I legitimately do like almost everything but the firmware, and some of the things I want from headphones are hard to find.)

I wanted to create this post regarding my thoughts on Dolby Atmos and what I think of virtual surround in general from a hearing perspective and something that isn't technically measured. This is used with the Sound Blaster AE-9 and the Tygr 300Rs. I decided to try Dolby Atmos with the 7-day free trial and see how good or bad it is. Spoilers I will rarely use virtual surround I didn't go into high hopes when trying out this virtual surround sound because I wanted my expectations low. That certainly didn't help because I just wanted to throw off my headphones in the first seconds of trying it out for either a game or music. Their virtual surround implementation is alright for a kind of fake "spacious" bathroomy type sound but the sound quality dropped harder than I don't know what. The sound got very grainy and had a lot of weird EQ going on which ruined the whole frequency response. Using their EQ didn't help with the sound either. As for directionality, it works surprisingly well to distinguish front and behind imaging in for example Battlefield and letting it downmix to stereo from using surround in the game. Mediocre for directional audio for footsteps and of course worse than without it. Then I decided to compare DTS Headphone:X that came preloaded with my ROG Strix mobo and see if there was a difference. And yep, big difference. DTS seems to have less distortion and more clarity without all the graininess that Atmos comes with, but some weird things are going on here which are that for some reason DTS shifts the image to the left by like 3-5 volume adjustments in windows, and sounds like a channel imbalance. My headphones do not have a channel imbalance because turning it off fixes it. This makes it pretty much unusable. The other con is that the bass is boomy and the sound seems more pushed forward losing some detail. I am guessing it's like that because of the way they try to make a spacious soundstage with a "subwoofer" which doesn't sound good although the echo isn't there as much as Dolby Atmos surround. It has pretty good front and back imaging as well as Atmos but it's a lot better in terms of quality. Not that good directional audio either hence the boomy bass and weird imaging. So as for my last "test" is that I compared both of them to my soundcard's virtual surround from the SBX settings and using the different percentages on the "surround" setting. This is closer to Dolby Atmos with almost zero to no sound quality compromise. Although it increases treble as well as a bit of echo. Having it between 1-33% gives a type of sound almost like I have 2 speakers in front of me with a tiny bit of echo, between 33-67% is just the same but a bit wider sounding and kind of blending the channels. Up to 100%, it sounds almost the same but at 100% it somehow surprisingly makes the sound like it's both in front and behind me as if I am in a bigger warehouse or something, I'm guessing it has to do a bit with the echo and other effects it's applying. The echo is surprisingly low and not at all bathroomy as the others I've tried. This one retains good imaging/directional audio but has a small bit worse front and behind imaging than DTS or Dolby. The only times I've had it to be more of a fun use case it kinda works for movies, casual games, an orchestral track or just to get immersed but not for quality or better directional audio. Dolby - Grainy sound, bathroomy, hollow. DTS - Channel imbalance (software related), boomy bass, detail loss. SBX surround - Great sound quality, decent frequency response, same if not more detail To sum it up don't use it if you need sound quality and proper stereo imaging and to rely on the game's sound engine. As for immersion or to have a different sound for casual games, movies, or just some orchestral track, sure. But Dolby Atmos isn't it anyway. I guess the built-in virtual surround in my soundcard works better since it has its hardware and processing for it and it doesn't sound half bad.

Hi there! I got new wireless sony headphones about a month ago, and today they suddenly stopped working, while I was watching a youtube video. I tried the troubleshooting steps which were listed on the sony website, such as trying to charge them, reseting them and so on, but no results. I get no LED output, i even opened them, and all the wires seemed fine and none of them were loose. I tried to contact Sony support, but i couldn't get into their support website, as it states that: "Access was denied". What should I do? Please help.

Hi! I do a bit of gaming here and there, mostly Tekken or League/Lethal Company. I was looking for some good quality micless headphones (since i already have a standing mic) preferably for under 70-80€. Could also recommend for 100€ i might be able to push it that far. Many thanks!!

Sennheiser HD 400s Ive always used earphones as i prefer the non bulkiness of them but recently I've realized no matter how much i try i cannot get them to last me more than a year. So I've decided to change and enter the headphones section of audio devices, this is a pair of headphones I've found that have decent reviews ,and yes i prefer wired and always will (wire supremacy!) if you guys have any other suggestion please let me know I've debated this with myself for a while now. thanks in advance!

Hello, I am from India and looking for a headphone under $40 (₹3500). From my research, I found EKSA E900 Pro to be Ideal for me. My friend owns a non Pro model and i liked the mic and sound of it. My preference: Mic is not important, I have a dedicated mic I dont care about the Looks nor RGB Price should not go above ₹3500 Surround sound is must Going for the audio experience and not gaming, so i want bass and audio quality Wired I will really appreciate if you can help me out, since you all are very experienced with it

I bought a pair of Logitech G PRO X Wired headphones I think back around mid 2022 I've done nothing but take care of them and love them. I mainly use them for Xbox and they work amazing for trashing on some bums in video games. Last night they were working completely fine with no problems at all. I woke up this morning and they sounded awful certain frequencies of sound just turned into incoherent buzzing and trash sound quality. I might as well be playing with dallor tree ear buds.. that might be an insult to dallor tree earbuds. I've tried New controllers New devices Laptop Xbox New cords Updating firmware on both the headphones and my controller I even opened up the headset checking the boards for bad solder or any wiring issues to no avail The only area I couldent check on the wiring was in the band since it seems id have to cut it open My dog has stepped on it a time or 2 and I do travel a lot resulting in some scratches on it but i've never had an issue after any of those events occured I cleaned and blew out the aux port numerous times with no luck (I am skilled with technology I did not damage the headset whilst working on it) Im looking for any leads as nothing seems to be online Thanks!

I have been loving my XM4s until one day. This happed, sitting alone and not charging the case popped open with a puff of smoke and smells, confused i tot to googling, (with a reddit tag otherwise no useful info) and I stumbled upon a smalll form with othes seeeming to have had the exacty same situation as me. Hard to find, and a serious danger, Seems like this one has been swept under the rug a bit... I only found out due to the fact that mine decided to explode when I wasn't looking, sony hasn't asked for a recall and chooses to to replace them with the newer xm5s because the battery manufacturer they went with cut connners. I'm just glad it didn't happen while in use like a the fellow in this fourm: My Sony WF-1000XM4 exploded on my desk... : r/SonyHeadphones - Reddit Sound like a Canadian class action is already in the works, and hopefully people will hear about this, I feel as if this is just going to to be a hush hush replacement until someone really gets hurt. But as for me I bought mine used, so no warranty for me. Least I got to get them signed by LS before the blew up. Hopes this sheds some light in an otherwise ignored topic.

Hi, I've got a pair of broken razer kraken pro, the non-chroma version. What happened is something fell on them and broke the left earcup in half. The right earcup stopped working as some wires got ripped apart. I've had little luck trying to guess where the detached wires should go. The pictures show the resulting left cup. The 2 wires from the left are coming from the mic. The 2 wires I'm holding are going back into the headset, I imagine these are the ones that go to the right side earcup. I'm not sure what the red wire sticking out from the underneath is. Any input would be appreciated.

My Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones wont properly connect to my PC directly, i went to the control panel and selected the headphones but they still weren't working, until i slightly rotated the audio jack that connects to the headphones directly, but it sounds echoey and nothing I've done has worked. if any of yall can help i'd apreciate it

I want to buy me some beyerdynamic 990 pro but the 250 ohm variant. I know that my phone will not and cannot drive them. So is there a solution like the Sony NW-A300(who only can 32ohm if I can read the technical details) It does not need to be android but something that has my music and can also drive the 990.

I go to the Cinema and the sound is amazing, with either Dolby or THX speakers makes the room shake with Explosions from the movie, and its crystal clear sound, good bass and much more, i use my samsung TV, for watching movies, playing video games. I am trying to find the number 1 best headphones to buy that matches Cinema style experience with Doby/THX in the headphones I have had Razer headphones over the years for gaming and movies, the sound is amazing and razer does have Thx for there headphone but i give up on razer now as the headphones are such sh_t, and i have all models, after or near a year they start to become broken, wont connect to the software, and battery starts going anyway.... Back to the headphones idea, razer has something called HYPERSENSE, which is haptic technology. From rumbling explosions to whizzing bullets in the video games, its amazing feeling the headphone nearly falling off because of the feeling from what your playing or watching, i would like too get that in my next brand pair of headphones if thats possible, I have looked and tried to do my research but stuck now, thats why am posting for help, so far i have looked at, Beyerdynamic, Bose, Sony, Bang-Olufsen headphones

So my old Sennheisers have seen better days and I finally decided I wanted to try something new without spending a ton. After reading around, I settled on the Hifiman HE400SE. I saw mixed feedback about whether my motherboard would power then okay or not (Asus Maximus Hero XI Wi-Fi). Turns out, while the audio is clear, I’m now only getting about 50-60% of the volume I used to get with my old headphones. I used to run discord, chrome, and most games around 30-60% volume in windows and now to achieve the same volume I have everything at 100% lol. So now I’m looking for recommendations for a good amp solution around the $100 price point to up the volume and maybe improve the dynamics. I’ve narrowed my search down to a few different options and wanted to know y’all’s thoughts and/or experiences with any of them. Looking at either the Schiit Magni+, SMSL M300SE, iFi Uno, or maybe the JDS Atom 2 or Fiio K11. Thoughts and suggestions are greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Hey, I currently have a pair of hyperx cloud 2's that have served me faithfully for the past few years and until the mic died and I had to buy a dedicated one, headset still works great. It's perfectly good for my desktop but a bit too bulky to carry around if I need to take them to work. For my phone and laptop I use my huawei freebuds pro and they are great for listening to music etc on a commute or at the gym but they just don't have the battery life to use them for a full work day. I've been looking at the sennheiser momentum 4 that I can get on sale right now for about 250€ or the Sony xm5 that are a bit out of budget for 350€ Are the senheisers a good é ought upgrade over the cloud II to justify spending the money? What other options should I look at? (preference for stuff available at pcdiga.com) My requirements would be audio quality superior to the cloud II and portability. I'm also big headed I had a pair of audio technica bt3? I think that broke due to my head being too wide so that is a consideration. Any help from audio nerds is welcomed and appreciated

Hey Guys, First time on this forum, forgive me if I misunderstand the rules of posts. I’m looking for a new pair of wireless headphones. My WH-1000-XM4’s just broke, I tried the xm5’s and the Bose QC Ultra’s and they are good but not worth the price tag, in my opinion. I’d ideally want a temporary pair of wireless headphones for daily use that I can wear until the xm6’s come out in 6-8 months. If I like the 6’s I will buy them and leave these temporary headphones for use with my TV or give it to one of my brothers. I’ve seen many Beats, other Sonys and Boses, and even Sennhisers on sale recently but I’m not sure what would be a good fit (I’m in Canada for context). I don’t really need the noise cancelling but I would like comfortable, wireless, and good sound quality. My budget isn’t fixed, it’s more a matter of what gets the job done. Thanks for any advice y'all may have.

I got these fifine h6 headphones from amazon a couple days ago and they were working good, until recently. they would work fine, but after a little bit they would turn all audio (spotify music, gaming sounds, windows noises, etc) into this awful loud static noise. re-plugging them in, updating the drivers, and restarting my pc makes it go away for a bit but then it happens again. these headphones are normally loud (I keep them at 8% volume) but the static is super loud. turning the phones up to around 50 - 80% makes it so you can hear the noise even with the headphones off. does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this issue? these headphones are pretty good and i want to use them for as long as i can. 20231118_173220.mp4

Looking for a good pair of headphones with a max budget of $200 since my current Corsair HS60 pair is breaking. Primary use cases will be gaming and video editing. Surround sound is a must since I play a lot of FPS games. I don't need a headset mic since I already have a dedicated one.
