Hi guys, I've been reading up a lot the past couple of days but am still very new to audio and all the terminology being thrown around, and so far I'm fairly torn between getting a 58X and a DT 990 Pro. I hear both are fairly good for positional audio but am not sure what the other differences are. I already have a good standalone mic. Currently when I play games (Overwatch mostly, some CSGO etc) I often have no idea where sounds or footsteps are coming from (if I even notice them at all) and find it very difficult to identify certain sounds that my friends do seem to easily hear, so I really want something that could help out in this regard. I'm not a huge music listener and it definitely isn't my main reason for getting headphones, but of course it would be a nice plus if it doesn't add too much to the total cost. Since I live in Europe the 58X and anything else from massdrop is more expensive than it would normally be ($200-$220 after import/shipping fees). I can get a DT 990 Pro for about 120 euros ($140) which seems like a good deal to me. I don't mind buying a DAC/AMP if I can get something for not much more than 100-120. Currently I'm looking at the Sound Blaster X3 since I can get it for about 100 and it lets you split games/voice chat into separate channels and control them individually which is a big plus for me. I'd love to hear some of your opinions on this! If you have other suggestions of course I'd love to hear them, but I would prefer not to go beyond the $200-$400 range for my total budget unless you feel the extra cost brings a lot more value. Thanks!

I'm a bit new into this whole amp and high impedance headphone thing so I don't know much about it. I did a lot of research and found that the Schiit Magni 3+'s would be suitable for my case. This will be my first amp and I have a budget of around €100. I'm mainly using these for music production and critical listening so audio quality is a priority for me. Let me know if the Schiit Magni 3+ is good or maybe write any suggestions for other amps. I know most people are here for gaming related stuff but I'm NOT looking for something for gaming, I produce music and want serious answers from people who arre into this topic.

I wanna buy a budget-friendly gaming headset, and I have doubt between three models and need your help. First one: Havit HV-H2026D - https://www.havit.hk/products/h2026d-gaming-headset/ Second one: Onikuma K9 - https://www.onikumagaming.com/products/onikuma-k9-retractable-mic-giming-headset Third one: Onikuma K20 - https://www.amazon.com/Onikuma-Surround-Headphones-PC-Lightweight-Earmuffs/dp/B087NW1P78 And my biggest problem here, is Surround 7.1 The Onikuma K20 has virtual 7.1, but the others don't. And I am in doubt about that, how much is it important in your opinion? p.s: I'm not a professional gamer, and I need it for online meetings, music and stuff like that.

I want to use 2 devices on the same monitor so my only choice is to connect my headphone to the monitor 3.5mm jack. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling different drivers, updating on device manager, no luck so far. Windows audio bar at Control Panel > Sound > Playback, keeps moving up and down as I play a video on YouTube, but no sound comes out. My monitor is selected, "LC34G55T" currently using High Definition Audio Device. (realtek driver) This monitor has no speaker, just the headphone jack. I'm using displayport. OS is Windows 10. Headphone works fine if I plug it in my PC.

Hi everyone! have an issue with sound, relating bluetooth. I have several pairs of bluetooth headphones, since my setup is wireless, and everything was working fine, until one day i just booted up my pc and something was broken. The headphones i used were “momentum true wireless 3” and while the pc connected to them via bluetooth, in the playback tab of “sound” the stereo option was disconnected. As most of us know, there two options when you have a mic in headphones, first being a “hand free” sound option, usually used for calls, and the second one is “stereo”. the option for “stereo” was grayed out with a red icon for disconnected, however the hands free option worked fine. When i right clicked to connect, nothing happened. i tried several options to resolve the issue, but nothing worked for me. I tried sfc check through “windows powershell” and “command prompt”, tried the same to helthcheck the a2dp, tried reinstalling the drivers, reinstalling the adapters and network for bluetooth, searched for web, tried with different pair of bluetooth headphones, and the issue was the same. Then, i tied to connect on my laptop, and everything worked perfectly fine there. Through voicemeter on the main pc, i found out that the wdm sound option is completely missing for my headphones while other 2 sound codes were working fine. has anyone seen this issue? Or any idea what can i do? The “hands free” audio in playback is working fine, but i cannot turn on the “stereo” option.

XM3 user here for 3 years. Very happy with the performance overall but there are a few disadvantage points on XM3 so I'm considering new pair of headphone, hoping you guys can recommend me a few. Here are some basic things I'm looking for in new headphone Capability to mute microphone using touch pad (XM3 don't have this feature) Better microphone (XM3's microphone suck, I'm a frequent conference caller and they commented the voice quality from my side is bad) Compatible with Windows PC bluetooth driver (XM3 is using generic Windows driver with ANC always on, no way to turn it off during call and microphone cut off after certain amount of time) Better ANC performance (XM3 is good at cancelling static/uniform noise like AC noise or engine noise. Other random noise still leak through sometimes. I wish it can further tone down human speech and external music source) Comparable music quality to XM3 (I'm not audiophile so XM3 music quality is fine for me) I've already look through XM5 and Apple AirPods, I'm not really into the physical design of the headphones so those are not under my consideration. Thanks in advance.

Hello I bought an RTX 3080 and a Ryzen 7 5700x today. Since I have a X370 i installed the most upto date Bios Version 6042 so the 5700x is supported. Then I uninstalled the GPU driver with DDU, put the new hardware in and started the computer again and installed the driver for the RTX 3080. On the first startup a TPM message popped up and i pressed No. Now with the new hardware in my Audio doesn't work anymore. My Realtek driver still detects when I plug my headphones in, but the audio symbol in the taskbar has a red X and says "no speaker or headphone plugged in". I already tried to reinstall the audiodrivers for the mainboard and restart the Windows Audio in the services, both tips found via google, but it doesn't help. Can someone help? I don't want to install my Windows fresh, I just had to do it 3 months ago because Win Updates wrecked my install. I just finishes downloading all my games and programms.

Hi what is the ATH-GDL3 Soundstage, Imaging, Clamping-Force, breathability & comfort for glasses compared to the SHP-9500? I love my SHP-9500 but I sometimes find myself having to keep re-adjusting around my ears & head depending where I am. Also can I use any 3.5mm cable or does it have the locking-mechanism that restricts the user to use brand labelled cables like the Sennheiser HD 598? (Links for reference) https://www.philips.com.hk/en/c-p/SHP9500_00/hifi-stereo-headphones https://www.audio-technica.com/en-gb/ath-gdl3

I am flying regularly long distance. Since my Sony WF-1000XM4 get a little uncomfortable after a couple of hours and also can not be directly connected to the entertainment system of the plane I am looking for an alternative. For which I have following requirements: active noise canceling 3.5 mm headphone jack input reasonably well balanced sound bluetooth high comfort tame design I dont want to spend to much money on them since I am only gonna use them for this purpose. Maybe around 150$/€, max would be 200$/€. Maybe an older model would fit? Sadly I am not very knowledgable in this area. Thanks for your help in advance!

Stories of Sennheiser's enduring durability and the accompanying sound quality has inspired me to get one for myself. Now that I have income on my hands that I can dispose, drive the economy, I must. That being said, I am no audiophile; I don't understand all the parameters when it comes to audio gadgets. I only wish to use this at home, so I don't care for wireless and ANC things. The only thing I'll be driving the headphones with is the 3.5mm combo jack for media consumption and game audio—microphone is unnecessary since I don't have any friends for online multiplayer or VCs. So, among the models that does 3.5mm only, which one should I consider? The only I know is that I probably prefer over-ear for comfort. Please give me suggestions.

I want to buy a headphone for study with anc(as my neighborhood is so so loud and my room walls are walls of the house nk just outside of my window is road) so I am looking for a headphone that can cancel out those annoying sounds.

In the last few months, the audio of my computer has been getting progressively worse and worse. It started with faint popping noises once in a while, and now its constant crackling and popping every second or so. I have tried updating/rolling back the drivers, disabling audio enhancements, etc. The problem doesn't seem to be the headphones nor the cable. I tried them in many other computers and they sounded totally fine. Regardless of the source on my computer I have these problems. My speakers also have them. I tried a cheap little USB sound card and the issues stayed and were even worse. When I restart my PC, it starts running fine and then progressively the popping comes back. My main idea right now is that it might be the PSU, but I'd need more opinions! Here are the specs: OS: Windows 10 Audio 1:USB Audio Adapter PELAT USB External Sound Card Audio 2: Onboard audio AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.8 GHz 12-Core Processor Asus PRIME X570-PRO ATX AM4 Motherboard 2x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory Samsung 960 Evo 250 GB M.2-2280 PCIe 3.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive Seagate BarraCuda Pro 4 TB 3.5" 7200 RPM Internal Hard Drive Gigabyte WINDFORCE OC GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER 8 GB Video Card Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic ATX Full Tower Case Corsair RM750 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Deepcool Castle 360 RGB V2 360mm All-in-One Liquid CPU Cooler

I just got my DT 990s and also bought the Schiit Magni3+B and also bought RCA cables to connect them all together. The amplifier is on and the headphones are connected but Im not hearing any audio and the headphones dont even show up connected on my PC and then I tried to just plug the 990s into my macbook with the headphone jack but even then no audio comes through, do I need to buy a RCA-USB cable to allow these to work? not sure what to do.

I always jumped from "gaming" headset to "gaming" headset, always being in some ways disappointed with them, previously I had some open back Sennheiser headset which sounded decent but I didnt like that I could hear everything happening around me instead of focusing on the game (when I purchased them, I didnt realize they were open back) and I am a fan of wireless headsets (especially now with two young kittens that LOVE to chew on cables [They already managed to rip out and destroy my fiber network cable between the wall and the router]) Currently Im using a Logitech G935 wireless headset which is decent audio wise, but the plastic is really creaky, to the point that whenever I move my jaw, the plastic creaks. It also recently started having connector issues with the charger (yes I tried multiple Micro-USBs) and that one side of the headset sometimes doesnt turn on, so after ~2 years of usage, I think its time for a newer, better Headset. The issue Is: I dont particularly know what to look for. I 100% need a wireless headset that I can charge during the knight when Im able to lock the kittens out of the room and I would really like something with clear audio and preferably 7.1 surround sound (Although I have to admit, that I dont know if 7.1 surround is really "the best" for "gaming" headsets). I dont talk much, so good Microphone quality is not a requirement (actually, it doesnt need a Mic at all for me, if it doesnt Ill just get a cheapo USB mic) Price also isnt tooo much of an issue although I would like to keep it below 500USD. What headsets would/could you recommend, LTT Community?

So I noticed this today. When I am in a match in r6 my headphones (sony WH-1000XM4) have a slight hissing sound but only in the right earbud. The hissing will stay when they are on but I can use them when they are off and I there is no hissing

I got some extra money and have wanted a new pair of headphones for some time. I'm not very knowledgeable with headphone specs so I've come here for some help. I would like headphones that allow me to hear all the footsteps in Modern Warfare, Yet also listen to and enjoy my bassy punk rock music all for under $75. I do not want On-Ear, I do not need a mic, I would prefer closed-back and wired. However, I am open to all suggestions. Right now I'm looking into the Phillips SHP9500 (yes i know its open-back) if you guys have anything better I'm all ears.

So my HyperX KHX-H3CLW stopped playing sound in the left ear, and when I took it apart, there were no damaged contacts, but would not play through left ear, so I suspect a damaged cable, does anyone know where to get a replacement wire?

so im planning to buy a new headphone which is Razer kraken X. but im bit confused on what jack should i get, the USB or 3.5 mm jack i know the USB can only be used on PC while the 3.5 mm can be used on xbox, PS etc. im just wondering which will sound better or will it affect the quality of the 7.1 surround sound. and.. is it true if i were to buy the 3.5mm jack my friends can hear themselves and everything that happen in my pc?

In my computer I have a dedicated soundcard (Creative Sound Blaster AE-5) and it can run headphones up to 600 ohms via its dedicated headphone jack (separate from speaker jack). But I would like to have easier (and cleaner) access to plug in/out my headphones. Is it possible to use an audio extension cable from that plug, or will this hinder the impedance somehow? Headphones requires 65 ohms of impedance. And no, I'm not gonna buy an external DAC, as the AE-5 is more than excellent once it is setup properly.
