Hi, i have a Asus P8Z77-V, and my fans are 3-pins. Right now they are running at full speed and I want to lower the output voltage from the fan header to 3V to reduce noise. What's the best approach, bios? Speedfan? Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am trying to find a CPU FAN right angle header (connector), similar to the one in picture above but I can't seem to find the product number. I tried searching Molex connector on Digikey but it seems that all of them don't have the plastic "tab" at the correct position. Can someone help finding the correct product number or maybe if someone already ordered a connector that you know works and can share manufacturer and part number?

My rear case fan won't spin whenever I first turn on my pc in the morning. At first I thought the fan went bad and replaced it but the problem remained. Tried connecting the fan to a different header with no success. The only temporary fix that I found was to go in the BIOS and change a setting that would restart the BIOS, for example, turning XMP off and back on. That way, when it restarts the fan will spin and work just fine while connected to any header on the mobo. Appreciate any input, thanks! Motherboard is an ASUS H97-PRO.

Does anyone know hoe to remap/configure a RGB header on a MSI motherboard.? I have the z270 m7 with a cablemod led kit, but the green and blue pins are swapped on the header/leds.

I'm doing a case mod and I have a few questions about a couple of the onboard connectors on my motherboard. I have an Asus Crosshair VI and I'm having trouble finding documentation for one of the headers on it. What is the pinout for the header labelled ROG_EXT? I have very little use use for the ROG Front Base (the ASUS proprietary display that interfaces to it), I just want to use that extra USB port it purports to have. I tried connecting a normal USB2.0 header into it and it didn't do anything. A little bit of searching brings me to here: but this doesn't exactly answer my question: How can I make use of it? And lastly, where can I buy a usb3.1 external header? I see tons of USB3 and USB2 external headers to buy but no such thing seems to exist for this new 3.1 connector.

Hi, I was looking to tidy up the inside of my PC a bit, and would like to know if any of you know where I can buy a low profile USB 3.0 internal cable that is white. I found what I was looking for, pictured below, but would like to know if anyone knows where I can get a white one of these. Thanks

Hello Forum, New Build posts and is all good, but can't seem to get past boot cause of an CPU_Fan error (system is basically going nuts since it's thinking that no fan is connected). So I'm using the Phanteks Evolv and it wants me to connect it's 4 pin from the PWN Controller that comes with it into the CPU_Fan header on the mobo. I've done that and connected my H110i pump/cpu_fan 3 pin into the 4 pin waterpump header on the mobo. What's the solution here? Bear in mind I have a CPU_Opt (Optional too) that serves the same function, could I make use of that? @samcool55 @done12many2

How do I lower the RPM of a fan plugged into the pump header? It's an Industrial Noctua fan that's just running at 3000rpm by default, Christ it's irritating. I've been told you can configure an AIO/Pump Header into a normal Fan Header, or at least you can control the RPM through it since it's a 4 pin input. Question is how? I am using a Crosshair Hero IV AM4 Motherboard.

I'm doing a new build (first time) and i'm currently installing the motherboard. The motherboard is an MSI X399 and the case is an NZXT Source 530. I'm connecting the front panel connectors as per my motherboard's manual, however there doesn't seem to be an HDD LED connector... There are two reset switches which also seems strange.. Could one of these be named incorrectly and actually be the HDD LED?? One reset switch is joined with the power switch so i'm assuming that is the real reset switch and there is one separate reset switch, see attached photo. This is my first time doing this but that seems strange to me..?

While the h100i v2 fans do somewhat work okay, I would much rather manually control the fans to ensure proper cooling with the Corsair LINK program. But there are no other USB internal headers on my z170m MORTAR MSI motherboard other than the one for front panel USB. What do you recommend I do to plug the cooler into USB?

I bought a 10-Pin USB/AC97/HD-Audio Internal Header Y Splitter Cable https://www.moddiy.com/products/10%2dPin-USB{47}AC97{47}HD%2dAudio-Internal-Header-Y-Splitter-Cable-(50cm).html to use as a HD-Audio splitter cable. I am using an asus X99E-WS motherboard with an AAFP pin array which is also used as a hd audio connector. However, because the cable is multi purpose, as can be seen in the picture, it has 10 pins and I need to remove 1 of them from each of the the male header. My question is how do I go about removing it from the header and which one do I remove? On the female header, there is a single arrow on one of the corner pins just as you would on any other motherboard header. Normally on a motherboard header, the arrow would point to the positive pin. However, according to the hd audio pinout diagram, there isn't a positive pin on any of the corner pins, the closest is a ground. Do I plug the female header with the arrow to the ground pin on the motherboard? In the product description it says: Premium 10-Pin USB/AC97/HD-Audio Internal Header Y Splitter Cable (50cm) The Male pins can be plugged on/off, to convert it between Male/Female ONE female 10-pin dupont connector to TWO male 10-pin dupont connectors ONE female 10-pin dupont connector to TWO female 10-pin dupont connectors ONE male 10-pin dupont connector to TWO female 10-pin dupont connectors

So Im going to watercool my GPU and I want to use the fan header on my GPU to power my Corsair SP120 fan but the GPU Fan header is weird and isnt the standard size so I want to know if there is an adapter that I can use to make it so that I can connect it to my SP120. Also, I cant use any of the ports of my motherboard to use for a fan curve because the ones Im not using for my CPU are kind of broken and cant be controlled or monitored.

I got four new fans for my system today and there three pin connectors. I googled my motherboard and it said it supports three system fans of four pins. Would this make a difference If I put them in using three pins?

So I went in my PC the other day to tidy up some cable management and I went to unplug the USB 3.0 header and it wouldn't budge. So, I applied a bit more force and it came off, however with a few broken off pins and bent ones. My front USB ports will not work and I don't know how to fix this. Any advice or comments are appreciated thank you!

So i have this case but removed the fan hub because... well it was ugly. My motherboard won't run the case fans below 60%. I want to set a custom fan curve with the fans way below 60%. Will this be possible if i put the fan hub back on and connect the case fans to it? the fans are all 3pin fans. i'm trying to get my machine to be a bit quieter... especially considering my cpu isn't even topping 35 degrees. My case is the Phanteks evolv entoo tempered glass edition. Motherboard is an asus ROG x99, it's my first build so I am not an expert...yet. Sorry if I am posting this in the wrong place, but i just created this account and don't know the rules here yet. I also just built my first pc and am having this question. any response will be appreciated.

I am going to build a PC soon. Im thinking of getting a Phanteks Eclipse P350x case. What i don't understand is what type of RGB connector is used to plug into the motherboard to get full addressable RGB on the case. I am also looking at buying an MSI B450 Tomahawk motherboard. Is it compatible? If not do i need an adapter? Or do I need an entirely different motherboard to get addressable RGB in software?

I could use some help from anyone who is familiar with the http server build for the ESP32 arduino core. I keep running into the problem where the server responds to a GET request with 'Header fields are too long for the server to interpret' A detailed explanation of my issue can be found on github. https://github.com/espressif/arduino-esp32/issues/2983 If someone prefers to view it here on the forums instead, here is the copy paste of it

I got an MSI b450 A-Pro which I can't find any argb header, can you help me find a solution to this? Because I really wanted my fans to fit the red black theme of my setup. All I can find is a JRGB 1 header which I still don't understand its usage. I'm still new to PC building and I don't know much about it, thanks.

So, i purchased a ASUS TUF B450-PLUS GAMING motherboard and a Fortron CMT340 case. When i wanted to plug in the RGB, i discovered that my motherboard and case have different RGB headers than my MB, so i can´t plug the case RGB controller into the motherboard. (the third image is the fan+rgb case controller). Is there any way i can connect the RGB sync to the motherboard? Am i missing some header on the motherboard? Will i have to purchase a reduction? Will i have to eat shit?

I was going over my list of parts I want to get for my first gaming PC as well as having fun with the I des of anything I may want to buy in the future when I ran into the question. I saw that the mobo had two, 12v rgb headers, one 5v, and one Corsair one. I want to get the cooler master ml240l aio but idk what header it plugs into. This also raised a concern as to how the fans on the Phanteks p400a plug into rgb and fan headers. I know there are three fans but does it route to just one cable to the MoBo and if so, which rgb header does it go to, I want to know which rgb header I still have available for possibly some rgb light strips but didn’t know which header I could use. If anyone has any recommendations on that front, thanks. TL;DR: What type of rgb header does cooler master ml240l go to? How do the case fans from the phanteks p400a plug in for rgb? What are some recommendations for rgb light strips?

Hi everyone, I'm about to buy my first set of RGB fans. I just need 2 120mm RGB fans that are silent. I'm confused about the connectors. I have the MSI Mortar Max Motherboard and have NZXT H510i case and corsair RAM. So optimally I would like to have 2 fans that can be controlled with mystic light, NZXT CAM software or iCUE. Can I just connect RGB connectors to the RGB header on the motherboard and use mystic light for it? or do the fans need to be compatible with mystic light? Do RGB headers work with RGB LED strip 12v connectors? Any tips or advice? Thanks in advance!

So I just build my new system. I’m 3 fan headers short for my fans at the bottom side panel and the 3 front intake fans have short cables for reaching to the motherboard. This makes cable managing them behind the motherboard tray impossible. so all fans are 3 Pin and I picked up 2 splitters (headers are on a PCB board that has a fan cable connected to it; looks like a parallel circuit). Both connect directly to the motherboard fan headers for everything. Question is, am I doing my math right? Or will my fan headers not be able to power my fans? So the two fan headers on my motherboard that I’m using are designed for case fans or water pumps. They support a maximum of 2 amps and 24 watts. So for the first splitter, for fan header #1, I got 4 fans that say 12V 0.19A on each fan. So if I recall, voltage stays the same, but amps add up and then this gives you your watts (correct me if I’m wrong). 4 fans X 0.19 amps = 0.76 amps 0.76 amps X 12 Volts = 9.12 Watts So fan header #1 should draw about 9.12 watts and 0.76 amps (give or take). My second splitter for fan header #2 will only have 3 fans that say 12V 0.30A on each of them. 3 fans X 0.30 amps = 0.90 amps 0.90 amps X 12 Volts = 10.80 Watts So fan header #2 should use about 10.80 watts and 0.90 amps (give or take). So did I calculate this all correctly and am I in the clear for using my splitters or did I mess up and need to jerry rig the splitter power to the PSU ?

Any replacement for header(location) ? in this code it split error instead of redirecting when i put the php after writing comment section, but when i put it before it, it does work, even just the comments section when i put it in different file all alone it does work normally. Hi all! So sorry if this has already been discussed but after literal hours pouring over the web for an answer today, I've resigned to asking for myself. I recently purchased MSI's X399 Gaming Pro Carbon motherboard as I got it as a steal (almost AUD$150 off msrp), and the build went off practically without a hitch. That being said, it has been a good few years since I did a build of my own and some things are new to me; argb, m.2 sockets, threadripper installation, just to name a few. It wasn't until I was finishing off the build that I stumbled into this problem. The JRAINBOW1 header on this board has 4 pins; C1|D1|+5V|GND. I have found it nigh impossible to find this header on any other board - including any of MSI's own boards - and by extension, an adapter that would convert this header to the more standard layout; +5V|D|--|GND. Am I missing something here? Is this header meant only for very particular LED strips? Any help would be greatly appreciated! - Mitch
