Hey, so I've just made an account on here to ask for some help, I've been trying to hackintosh my Lenovo T530 but there aren't any guides that I've found that apply to my laptop or much information on it all. I am aware that this is quite a niche so I've tried looking for people who have done it to other similar Lenovo laptops (so that hopefully the firmware used could work with mine though I'm not 100% sure if that's how it would work). I've seen some guides on x220's and 30's though I'm worried that its firmware's could ruin my T530 even if the hardware is similar. I on't care about macOS updates being supported or security (I know that wifi and probably many other peripherals won't work it's not too much of an issue for me) as I would just manly use windows, I just want to have one machine that has macOS (I know I could run a VM on my pc but I really want it on my laptop). I am really looking for a dual boot solution but if you know anything please let me know, I am open to any ideas or suggestions My lenovo's specs are: i5-3230M 8gb 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD graphics (not sure which version and if it'll work with macOS) Some Cheap Chinese SSD (its formatted in two so that I have a partition ready for macOS) Windows 10 I also have my desktop which I'm writing this off of now i5-7500 16gb 2400MHz DDR4 EVGA sc 1060 6gb Windows 10

I have successfully installed hackintosh Catalina before & it worked really well without an issue for so many days. But 3 days back & I went back to windows 10. Now when I try to install it again which Catalina I get stuck on bootloader. I took pendrive out & tried on different usb but same result. I can able to get into bootloader but when I hit enter to install from bootloader coding appears and computer restart automatically. Tried many times but no luck. Attaching video which you can see for better understanding. Does anyone knows how to solve this ? My pc spec i7 4790k Gigabyte motherboard Intel HD Graphics 4600 1536 MB 2 x 4 GB DDR3 Ram 240 GB SSD VID_20200731_000516_2.mp4

Hey guys, i am very new in this forum (actually, just signed up) but i have big plans. Since i am using macOS for my university and work for almost 4 years now, i am very drawn to the ecosystem. But, like many Mac Users i am not very happy with Apples hardware choice and especially the pricing. Since i really like to game as well, i would also like to upgrade my PC. Therefore i thought, why not build a dualboot system? I know it's possible and not too exotic. Due to the nature of macOS my only real option in GPU choice would be AMD, more specific a RX 5700XT. For PC gaming any many Render engines, like Maxwell, Nvidia GPUs take the lead and is many times the only option. So, now for my question: Is it possible, to build a system which runs a Dualboot and changes between AMD GPU while on macOS and NVIDIA GPU while on Windows? Maybe even use the NVIDIA GPU as primary GPU on Windows and use the AMD one for other tasks in the meantime? If yes, how is it to be configured? Budget (including currency): 3000€ Country: Germany Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I thought about a configuration like this one: Ryzen 9 3900X Gigabyte B550 Vision D (for the looks) 64GB Ram (min 3200MHz) x2 Crucial P1 1TB RX 5700XT with Watercooling (EK) GeForce RTX 2080 Super with Watercooling (EK) Custom Waterloop for GPU and CPU min 2x 360mm Radiator 1000W Power Supply (mind 80+ Gold) Depending on case and cooling components i should get by just under 3000€ Any ideas? Sorry if this is the wrong section :)

hackintosh Opencore hackintosh for a Sandy Bridge laptop
Despacitus posted a topic in Operating Systems
First of all I should be clarifying that I'm a complete noob in this so plz don't judge me I've got myself this a sweet thinkpad l420 with the intent of turning it into a hackintosh. I tried to follow this guide as it's apparently very popular right now cuz it doesn't need having access to a mac or a hackintosh : https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Desktop-Guide/ It didn't include a guide for Sandy Bridge processors but it had one for Ivy bridge that is supposed to work on Sandy Bridge. However I stumbled upon the problem of generating SSDTs for my sandy bridge processor: as mentioned in the guide I should be using this ssdtprgen.sh code to generate the needed SSDTs but without any success. I tried doing it both on windows and linux without any success. In linux it seemed to run but there weren't any generated files that I could find anywhere! I would be grateful to find anyway to turn my machine into a running hackintosh without needing another MacOS-running computer -
https://imgur.com/a/aOlAGxe Everytime I click one of those icons linked in the video above^ Mac OS keeps crashing. Why does it keep doing this? also Mac OS is really slow and sluggishly and audio also doesn't work. This is really annoying and I want it fixed. I am running this on a virtual machine (virtualbox). Specs: Alienware Aurora R8 Processor: i7-8700 GPU: RTX 2070 32GB 2666MHZ RAM Motherboard model number: 0R3FWM (U3E1)--- Z370 Windows 10 EDIT: IS THERE A WAY TO DISABLE MY RTX 2070 AND RUN IT ON MY INTEGRATED GRAPHICS?

Ok so, I'm a software engineer and I've been using Mac OS as my daily driver for the past 3 years now. I've also used Linux but I generally had a better time with Mac OS (less fiddling around, crashes, bugs, good software compatibility etc). When Apple announced their new 16" pro with (about time) a decent enough GPU for gaming on the go (I have a desktop for gaming, the laptop is primarily used for work but also for gaming on the go), I quickly sold my 15" pro and bought it. Great machine, recommend to anyone who uses Mac OS for work but would like to game on the side... At least until now... It was quite easy to bootcamp to an external SSD drive and install games, but after today's announcement, it got me thinking: it is known that windows doesn't run great on ARM... And most games are built on x86... (the next gen consoles are ryzen APUs...). Does that mean that bootcamp is officially dead? What you guys think about Hackintosh also? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on this, maybe from someone that knows more about hardware architecture, OS virtualization etc

Hey i am kinda new in hackintosh thing, but my question is: Is it possible to use AMD APU in hackintosh ? I am talking about Radeon Vega 11 used in Ryzen 3 2400G. I have read that it is possible but only with very small amount of VRAM (few megabytes). Anyone have some experience, tips or ideas ?

Budget (including currency): <$500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: normal everyday tasks as well as some video editing and video watching. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): ok so this is not a build per say it’s a pre existing laptop that I’m considering purchasing from Walmart. So it’s a HP 15.6” Ryzen 5 (3500U) 8GB ram 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD for $477.06 like I said from Walmart. Now I only want to purchase it if I can get OSX iMessage ICloud and so on to work on it. I remember LinusTechTips on YouTube did a video about a VM OSX on an AMD and Nvidia Graphics Card with the great Anthony. Anthony said at some point they would do a follow up getting the iMessage and iCloud and so on working but I never saw a video on that. I’m wondering if that peticular laptop I could get that al working and if so could the forum help Me with step by step instructions for all of it, please? Thanks in advance everyone.

I recently bought two USB 3.0 ports and power buttons for the front panel of my G5. I spliced together the power button according to this guide. I'm having a problem with adding the front USB ports, I used a file to enlarge the firewire port to the size of the USB port. The holes are a little too wide for the USBs and the ports don't stay in. I tried to secure it with JB Weld Metal Putty, it failed. So I have to make something that attaches to the backside of the front of the case that can withstand being plugged in somewhat forcefully. I was thinking about using this, which would give it support on the back. The trouble is that I need to permanently attach it to the front. I was thinking about using super glue, nails or screwing it in. Any ideas on how I can do this? I know I'm doing a terrible job of describing what I'm talking about so I attached photos. Feel free to ask questions! Also, I want to do the same with the headphone jack; I'm having trouble finding a 3.5mm combo jack to front panel audio header cable. Does anyone know about something like this. I don't want to spend much. I can do some soldering if I have to. Thanks, AidanOnEverything

Hi Im making a hackintosh the old fashioned way. No VM or linux UniBeast Multibeast (so clover) on fresh hardware, most importantly an Aorus wifi MOBO and a WD black M.2 SSD. I have heard that for some reason macOS doesn't work over m.2 and i do not understand why nor do i understand the premise of the workaround. Will i be able to stick my boot usb into a computer with only an M.2 drive for storage and make a bootable disk?

I am having issues with finding the Linus Tech Tips video with them demonstrating how a corsair prebuilt computer (I believe the AMD prebuilt) where they show you it is easy to load MacOS as well as Windows OS making it into a dual boot system. Does anyone have the link for that? Edit: I believe it was in the year 2020 towards the beginning of the year.

Hello, I am planning to setup a hackintosh with my PC but latest versions of MacOS does not supports NVIDIA cards. So I am looking into possiblity of installing a secondary GPU to get some performance from the installiation. But here is the problem. My PSU is a bit underpowered and I want to hear your opinion on the matter. Here are the specs; PSU: Corsair VS550 CPU: AMD Ryzen 2600x GPU: Asus Dual 1060 3GB OC RAM: Adata 2x8GB 3000MHz MB: Asus Strix B450-E Gaming Cooling: Corsair H100i Platinum, (Total of 6 fans on case) Storage: 1 x 2.5" SSD and 1 x 2.5" 5400rpm HDD From online power calculators, it seems like this system consumes up to 400W of power and I want to add another R9 280x to this system. Which brings up total power consumption to 650W at full load (even though I probably cant even hit that) The PSU only has one PCI-E power cable with two connectors so I will be plugging one end to 1060 and other one to 280x. What happens if PSU gets overloaded ? Is there potential to risk the hardware or does it just shutdowns the computer. Is there a way to force D3 power states on both Windows and MacOs ? So that I can turn off 280x while on windows and 1060 while on MacOs. I am aware that the setup becomes a bit getto with this kind of configuration but as I said I would like to hear your opinions on this topic.

Im looking into dual booting my windows 10 desktop with a hackintosh OS . I have two seperate hard drives one seagate 1TB and a samsung old 500GB . I have experiance with this setup as i have dual booted with ubuntu and various other linux systems without USB or disk installation and now i am wanting to install a hackintosh OS on my secondary HDD for watching movies and doing work whilst leaving my main HDD for gaming. I am running a intel core I5-7400 with 8GB of DDR4 ram and a zotac 3GB 1060 gpu and a gigabyte-H110M-S2H motherboard. I have searched and searched and have been unable to find if my hardware is compatiable with any hackintosh version and did question wether sierra 10.12.4 would be compatiable but am uncertain. If anyone could give me insight to which version i could use if any i would greatly appreciate it

So how are hackintosh machines doing in 2020? I'm interested in exploring the OS for free however I don't know much going into it. What should I know before jumping into it? Might try it on my Acer Aspire E15 laptop - intel i5 - 2C/4T x 2,6GHz up to 3,2 GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, some trashy hd graphics and a GTX 940m. So it's not the worst but since I was going to install a not yet decided which distro of linux, thought that I might as well try this thing first.

I'm really looking forward to install MAC OS in my custom PC, mostly for development with Xcode. I'm not ready to buy a Mac yet (Definitely will, but might take a long time). I've read some post about people claiming to be able to update their Hackintosh to the latest OS and softwares such as development tools and also be able to use airdrop and IMessage. Is it really possible? Can my build allow me to do that. (CPU: Intel i7 8700K, GPU: Gigabyte Geforce 10603gb, RAM: 2 * 8GB Corsair RGB 2666MHZ, Mobo: Gigabyte Intel Z370N Wifi). If yes how do manage to that. What sources/tutorials/sites do you recommend I take a look at? Thanks
