The computer I am having issues with is my friends which I built for him recently (November I think), it has been working fine until now ,the computer restarted during the division beta I checked event viewer and found that this was caused by 'nvdlkm driver stopped responding' which I know is a display driver crash. I removed the graphics driver using display driver installer and did a clean install of the latest Nvidia driver 364.51 (an earlier version was installed before around 342 I think) it worked fine . This didn't fix the issue permanently but it worked until a game was run, I could boot without any bsod but I got no signal when I connected over hdmi after a reboot. I could however connect over vga so I uninstalled the graphics driver fully and did a clean install again, this allowed me to boot using a hdmi monitor but the display output stopped when running a game, this time leaving the computer running. I tried removing the graphics card and running on onboard graphics, this worked over vga again, but it didn't output anything over hdmi, even when I installed the intel graphics drivers. I tried different monitors over hdmi even using different cables but having no luck. Because its a recent build it didn't have much on it so I did a windows refresh (reinstalling windows via usb but keeping old files) I tried the graphics card in my own computer and it ran fine. Could this be a corrupted windows update that keeps breaking my gfx driver? or is it more likely a hardware error? The specs of the system are: windows 10 64bit Asus strix 980, 4690k, asus maximus vii hero, corsair modular650i power supply, samsung 850 evo ssd. All of the parts are at stock speeds and have not previously been overclocked. I don't know what bios version it is running but I have updated it when I built it and can find out if it is needed. If I'm missing anything or need me to give you more information please let me know and I'll do my best. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!

Gigabyte has released their new lineup of XTREME GAMING GTX cards, including the 970, 980, 980TI, and Titan X. There's also a pre-existing 950 model, but there's no word of a 960 model. In addition, the 980 TI XTREME GAMING will be getting a Waterforce cooler variant with a closed loop 120mm AIO. There are a few unique features that sets this apart from the popular G1 Gaming lineup, including fan & shroud RGB Illumination, power indication LED's, and more power phases. They are also binned higher. Depending on how much more these are compared to the G1, I could see these becoming popular. If it's a $40 premium, I'd say it'd be worth it for the better OC you'll be getting.

Hey guys, I am Yannick from Germany and just started to go to university. After the first week I was so bored, I decided to build a gaming PC to distract me from studying. Problem is: I am pretty new to this topic and can't pick the right choices which work the best for me. Now I am asking you guys to help me build a good and powerful gaming PC around 900€. The budget is just for the hardware and the case. I already got a mouse, keyboard, headset and monitor! What I would like to see in that build (if possible) is : - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970/980 - INTEL i5 or i7 processor I hope you can help me! Greetings from germany! -Oh and I play games like: Diablo III, CS:GO, H1Z1, GTA V, LoL, etc.

Hello there, I made a pc list for a friend (which I'm gonna build with him together) and I'm wondering if there's anything important that I should change or if everything is compatible with eachother. Especially the MOBO, PcPartPicker says that a BIOS upgrade might be required for it to work with the Haswell CPU, eventhough on the AsRock website it says they are fully compatible. Any suggestions are appreciated, thanks CPU: Intel i5-4690 CPU Cooler: Cooler Master 212 EVO PSU: Corsair CX750M Motherboard: ASRock B85 Anniversary RAM: Kingston HyperX Red GPU: Asus GTX 980 Case: Bitfenix Comrade Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB

Hi, this is my first build for Gaming PC and i have some doubt on my build. I am planning to use my PC mostly for gaming and some photo editing. I don't intend to do over clocking and I won't do any major upgrade within the next 4-5 years. I live in Indonesia and my budget will be around Rp.20 Million (or around $1500). My build will be as follows*: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor Price= $439,9; Id price= $ 362,8 Motherboard: Asus H170-PRO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Price= $110; Id price= $ 155,63 Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2666 Memory Price= $58,99; Id price= $ 69,65 Video Card: GALAX GeForce GTX 980 4GB HOF Video Card Price= $589; Id price= $ 594,86 PSU: Corsair RM750i W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Price= $119,99; Id price= $ 153,09 Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Price= $18,89; Id price= $ 14,51 Case: Corsair SPEC-02 ATX Mid Tower Case Price= $59; Id price= $ 69,65 *price= price in the internet dollars; idprice= price in Indonesia converted to dollars. Internet price is based on: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/nZyp7P while the Id Price is based on market price for items with US-Rp rates on 7 December 2015. Problems that i faced with my build: The distributor company for the video card is not one of the big company (i.e. distributor for ASUS, GIGABYTE, MSI, etc) in Indonesia, it gives 2 years warranty (On 1st year, they will replace it. On 2nd year they will fix it.) while others give 3 years warranty. So there is a concern on the accessibility and assurance for the warranty (i know there's the warranty contract, but i'm not really sure on its application and i don't too much problem for it). But since i read many reviews saying this card quality is good and its pretty durable, is it worth the risk? or should i buy others such as ASUS or GIGABYTE that costs more but give a better warranty. At first insert cooling for my build, but the the sky lake bending issues arise. I know the stock fan from the i7 won't be enough, but is there any solution or should i wait until there are some fixes on this issue? if there are, please tell me what is the best or the safest cooling system (preferably air cooling) for sky lake? Budget will be around $ 50-60 There's a chance that i will buy 4K monitor in the future. With this build will it be enough to play game and/or watch movies on 4k monitor? or should there be other changes made in my build? What kind of problems that i will face with my build? How much maintenance i should do with my build? This will be my first build on gaming pc and my first post, so all critics and suggestion are welcome and thank you in advance.

So I'm not sure what monitor would go well with a GTX980. For price reasons regardless of the card I was thinking 21.5" 1080p 70Hz monitor. But I feel like that's not doing the card justice. Do you guys agree? Should I go for maybe 144Hz? Bigger monitor? 4K? Keep in mind that I might want 2 monitors in the future and preferably that would be two of the same one. Thanks in advance!

WARNING: Actually read the description, and my question before posting a comment. Please and thank you. Ok, really weird scenario is taking place. I’m getting fps dips in Skyrim (crazy huh?) I don’t understand why this is happening. I am able to run Skyrim on ultra on my dam laptop from 2010. I do have a lot of visual mods installed in Skyrim, i get the same FPS without them as i do with them. I get the dips when in cities and random places. I’ve it’s not a hardware problem, I know my cpu and mobo is not a 6700k and a MSI god like. but it’s still good. I just was wondering if anyone else has ever ran into this problem and if so, did you fix it? how? Im no PC noob, ive had PC's and played PC games all my life. Hardware is not the issue, im not looking for recommendations to upgrade anything, so don't waste your time suggesting an upgrade. No real use in trying to trouble shoot because its no hardware problem, like i said. CPU: AMD FX 8350 4.0 GHz 8 core FANS: 3 Corsair AF120 (red led), 2 Corsair SP120, 2 Enermax UCBS-12P GPU: ASUS STRIX GTX 980 OC 4GB GDDR5 MOBO: ASRock 990FX Extreme 3 RAM: 8 GB of G.SKILL RIPJAWS X DDR3 at 1600MHz CPU COOLING: Enermax 240mm AIO liquid cooling PSU: KINGWIN 850W SSD: 60GB Kingston (for booting up) OTHER: Wireless N card (wifi), DVD/CD reader/write HDD: WD 1TB

Okay so i have a 2month old gaming pc that is custom built. ive had no issue till now i find that it lags a lot and i get very low FPS compared to before. example: cs:go 40 instead of 80-100, ETS2 30 instead of 60-80 Please tell me what im doing wrong. the only thing iver really noticed is that there is quite some dust on the hard drives ( i dont think thats the issue im maybe wrong) and also i basically leave it on 17/24 hours.could that be an issue? The specs: i7 4790K ( NOT Overcloked) 16GB Ram, 1 GTX980 Superjetstream, 2TB tosiba har drive, 240GB SSD (win7 pro 64bit on it) cooler is antec khuler 1250, PSU: 630W. case: corsair carbridege-spec 03 Thanks for any replies.

I bought an i7 4790k and an ASUS Maximus VII Hero, I'm trying to pick out the perfect set of RAM for my new pc. I'm looking for higher speeds like 2133MHz etc. The problem i am having is that when I find higher speed ram, it always has a voltage the exceeds the "Intel recommended voltage". What happens if I use it anyway? Is lower speeds like 1866MHz and higher CAS latency better than higher speeds and lower CAS latency?

I was wondering if I should get a EVGA GTX 980 Classified or a GTX 980 Ti (not sure which non-reference card yet) but I heard both of the cards are pretty similar and good for 4k gaming but im wondering if its worth the extra money for the 980 Ti instead of the evga one.

Ok, so first off, I am a fairly new system builder. I have an AMD FX 6300 and a GTX 980 WINDFORCE card. The bottleneck game is strong with my build. I was planning on upgrading to an FX 8370 here soon, but I have been told that this would be a great upgrade and would eliminate my bottleneck. However, I have also been told that this will not help at all. I want to stick with Team Red only because I just built my system over Christmas and I'm not too excited on buying a new CPU, mobo and RAM. I know for a fact that I would be happy with Intel, I just don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. I just want to know if sticking with AMD is right for me or not. Thanks all!

I want to SLI my reference gtx 980 with a kingpin edition gtx 980 I found on ebay for $450. Could I do it? Is there going to be trouble considering the kingpin's PCB sticks out significantly more than the reference? Will the SLI bridge be able to make contact with the two cards?

Im pondering if I should get a 2nd 980 for my 144hz 1080p monitor so I can max everything out, and I can only purchase either another 980 or a 1440p monitor, limited budget. Should I get it?
