Hey LTT, I have just purchased an ASUS gtx 780ti and I am looking to run it for 2 years at least. The new 900 series that Nvidia has pulled out of its bag has really grabbed my attention to make the switch, It's cheaper and faster, basically more efficient while giving better performance. That being said how logical will it be to get a second 780ti and run it in SLI? Will it last? Keep in mind that the 780ti's will not be getting cheaper. (I think!) Though choice  Help!

Ok so I am doing my first pc build very soon which I have been saving for a long time , and yes I probably will have a build log. All I need to get to complete my pc is my gpu and cpu. Right now i have 650$ should I A) get the 980 for around 500-600 $ or B) Get the 970 and my cpu now if I go for the 980 i will have to wait about two months to afford my cpu, my question is which one should i get will the 980 be worth the wait , keep in mind I don't want to upgrade too soon Thanks for your time!

I bought 2 GTX 980 only to discover that the DSR function from Nvidia doesn't work in sli configuration. When sli is disabled the option for DSR appear in Nvidia controlpanel and sli enabled the option disappeares. Some has made it work in sli and some hasn't and got the same problem as me. Can any one confirm that DSR doesn't work in sli? Does anyone have a solution? Kind Regards.

The official importer and distributor of Asus for Bulgaria, South-Eastern Europe, MOST Computers had something really interesting appear on their online price list today. Together with an Asus X99-Deluxe Mobo int the Mobo section, they had a GTX 980 with 4GB GDDR5 and a STRIX 970 also with 4GB GDDR5 memory on the list in the Video Cards section. They have no price so far. I have seen this happen a lot of times before - they do this when they are expecting a shipement of the said product in the coming couple of days. When it finally arrives they put a link to a spec sheet and put a price. Now together with that on the bottom, I notice a product by the name of Asus ARES III in the AMD cards section. What do you guys think ? I just bought a 780Ti a couple of days ago and i'm not exactly happy. If i recall correctly having 4GB of video memory goes with a 512-bit memory bus, no?

Hey guys, I'm Luke, I'm Located in Sydney, Australia and am currently in the process of planing out a new build. This is the link of parts I'm currently thinking about. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/zWF9Lk So I'm a casual gamer, playing mostly games like The Hunter and ARMA 3, with other AAA titles that grab my eye. I also do some casual video editing of some footage of my spearfishing trips on the weekend. I'm interested in running a Mid-Ranged Overclock on the system, hence the beefed up PSU and Motherboard. id love to get the system under the $3000AUD mark but i could be persuaded out to around $3500AUD. That is including peripherals. Let me know if I've missed any points you need or would like some more information. Looking forward to your opinions. Cheers

The white walker I wanted a new PC mainly to use for video editing, photo editing and some gaming. It's called the "White walker" because I thought it would be cool to have a black&white colour scheme to the rig and I'm also a huge Game of Thrones fan, so the theme would tie in nicely. The component selection was based on performance, but also looks. Some components I haven't decided on yet, so you could help me chose between the ones I wrote in the parts list. HERE, you can find the link to a shared Google Docs document, since I'll be doing a few special things that aren't on pcpartpicker.com, although I also made a list on there which can be found HERE. What are your thoughts?

Hi, I'm planning a new build! A few things: I live in the UK, and am willing to spend a hefty sum for this new computer. Up until now, I've only ever used pre-built systems (2 in fact, a 2005 HP Pavilion and a Lenovo Y580 laptop which died recently - RIP Lenny 2012-2015). Budget: Technically has no upper limit, but I'm not looking to waste my money. Used for: The new build will be used primarily for gaming (CSGO, BF4, Assetto Corsa and other lovely stuff), but I do intend to move onto design with 3ds Max and Photoshop to create community content for both CSGO and Assetto Corsa, as well as my own creative projects. Monitors: I have one BenQ G2420HD, but I plan on getting another 144hz BenQ (see below). Peripherals: I already own a decent keyboard, mouse, speakers and headset. Why am I upgrading/building anew?: Because an Athlon 64 X2 4800+ and a GT 610 just aren't enough! After consulting various resources including the Linus YouTube channel, I've come upon this list. Case: BitFenix Shinobi XL White £125 Overclockers I really like the look of this case. My first thought was the Phanteks Enthoo Primo White, but decided the Shinobi was smaller and less costly. I'd take any suggestions for a fairly large, clean looking case, without any bells and whistles in terms of windows and LEDs. (Piano) White cases like the two mentioned are my ideal in terms of a conservative to radical design ratio. Motherboard: MSI X99S Sli Plus £170 Amazon A fairly cheap x99 motherboard. Other options I looked into included the Asus x99 models, but they were much more expensive. Advice here would be much appreciated! PSU: Corsair AX Series AX860 £155 Amazon I calculated this wattage should be enough; it's an all round decent PSU. CPU: Intel i7-5820K £315 Amazon It may seem overkill for now; I understand gaming will not benefit from its extra cores, but as stated above, future modelling and rendering work will use them. I may eventually overclock the CPU when the need arises, but for now I will not do so. This explains the choice in CPU fan below. CPUFan: Noctua NH-D15 £70 Amazon Considering I'm not going to be overclocking for some time to come, I can't justify opting for a liquid cooling solution, especially since this is my first build. GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA GTX 980 G1 £480 Scan High performance and low power of this GPU made my decision for me. I looked into (dual) R9 295X2s, but decided that I preferred the support and drivers of Nvidia (had a GTX 660m in the Lenovo and a GT 610 in the HP) as well as the much, much lower power requirements. The reason for a high-end GPU in the first place is to be able to play games such as BF4 and Assetto Corsa at 144hz at 1080p. 1440p or higher is not on my radar for the moment and I'm more than happy with 1080p on a 24" monitor (see below), but I welcome the option to move onto 1440p or higher in the future. RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR4 8GB £70 Amazon 8GB RAM I think will suffice for now, since there will be a few months before I begin any work that will demand more. Also, the price may drop and I'll be able to save some money! HDD/SDD: SanDisk SDSSDXPS-480G-G25 £190 Amazon (+Samsung 450 EVO SSD 120GB already owned) (+Samsung M3 Portable 2TB already owned) I fear the 120GB that I already own may not be enough to store all of my programs, so I've opted for an adequate SanDisk 480GB addition. The M3 Portable with USB 3.0 connection I find is perfectly capable of storing music, videos and other files with fairly quick and reliable access. Monitor: BenQ XL2420G £439 Amazon This choice was most influenced by Linus' review on the YouTube channel. Although it will not match an IPS for image/colour quality, the extra Hz and GSync will definitely be appreciated. The LG 34UC97 reviewed by Linus definitely takes my fancy, but by the time I'm ready to buy a beautiful IPS display there may be better ones on the market. What I'm looking for here is advice on my build. I want to see if my logic in choosing these components is rational, or whether I've completely lost the plot and am about to blow £2000 on something that I will never even dream of using to its potential. 1. Are there any recommended changes to my build? 2. Considering I have no experience of Win8 and find its UI revolting, which is the better option - Win7 or 8? (Are there any real advantages to the latter?) 3. Considering the case and components, are there any modifications, extra fans or other advice to follow that I could be looking at to keep everything cool and dust-free? Thanks in advance!

Okay guys I've been planning a build for quite a time and I think I have finally planned a nearly perfect and ultimate gaming rig ( yes it will cost a lot but it should last quite some time). I won't buy everything immediately but it will be in the near future. But still a lot of planning to do. So I wanted to know from you guys your opinions. Tell me what you think, what you would also have in here, what you wouldn't etc. Here is the build link: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JjFMXL PS: Does anyone think I should opt for a 3 way instead of a 2 way sli?

Hello! I have a i5-6600k/GTX 980 PC right now and I am wondering if it will be able to handle a 3440x1440p@60hz monitor for Overwatch. I can turn down the setting a bit if I have to.

TL;DR; Converting PC to Hackintosh (Specs below), is the RX 480 well supported enough to make it a good cheaper alternative to the GTX 980? So my PC currently runs a nearly 18 month old system containing an R9 390X GPU. However, I am looking to convert my PC from a primarily windows machine to a hackintosh (which will also run linux, and maybe windows, for what little gaming I still do). All parts currently installed in my PC are compatible with macOS with the exception of my GPU, which I am now looking to swap out/ upgrade. Now as best as I can tell, Nvidia's pascal line up still does not support macOS and isn't looking likely to support it any time in the near future. Which leaves the previous, well supported GTX 980 (980ti and Titan X are out of my budget) as my next best option. However, the GTX 980's price hasn't dropped as much as I would've liked and I noticed rumors of support for AMD's RX series cards which massively low ball the price of any competing Nvidia GPU. So my question is, how well supported is the RX 480? Is it going to run with macOS as easily or nearly as easily as a GTX 980 would? Or is it going to cause me enough grief to make it worth while spending nearly double the money to buy the GTX 980? Also, just out of curiosity, how does the RX 480 fair against the GTX 980 performance wise? Just in case there's any compatibility issues, I'm also listing the rest of my build here: Intel i7 4790K Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooler AMD R9 390X (To be swapped out) MSI Z97 Gaming 5 Motherboard Kingston Hyper X Fury DDR3 1866MHz (2 x 8GB) Kingston 240 GB SSD Western Digital 1TB Blue HDD ANTEC 520W PSU PLEASE NOTE: I'm from Australia, so keep that in mind when listing PC parts to buy.
