This is my current PC part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/ElectricGeckos/saved/#view=n8Y74D I have been rocking my GTX 1060 6 GB graphics card for a while now. I want to play some more eye candy games that I have saved up on Steam in my library. Right now my PC gets an average of 30fps low, 45fps, and 60fps high on games like COD, Overwatch, and Halo Infinite at 1080p on my 1440p screen. The main reason I want to start playing my collection of story games is that all of my multiplayer games get 500 ping or more. I just lag when playing, my internet provider is bad. What are some cards I should be looking at? I also think nearly every card I could look at could be an upgrade from my 2017 card, and my main focus I think I should be looking at is how much ram the card has. I was thinking an Intel Arc 770? or an RX 7000 or 6000(I do not know Amd cards, their naming scheme confuses me), and or an RTX 3080? Or should I wait till graphics cards come more down because the prices are still inflated right?

Budget (including currency): less than 500USD, the less the better Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: CSGO only Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): I have an old gtx1060 from 2016, I want to make a good use of it and dont want to waste this thing. The ONLY game I'll be playing is CSGO, 1280×960 with maybe 144 or 240hz monitor. And I need some help with what CPU, cpu cooler(def air cooled), motherboard I should buy?

Hi, so I have Alienware Aurora R6 i7-7700 GTX 1060 6gb. I recently started streaming and recording for YouTube along with an attempt to get my foot in the door to esports. I don't have very much money so I've been trying to upgrade my PC piece by piece and I've come to the point where I believe my next step is graphics card. Otherwise, I don't get the frames I need to compete. I found a local store with an RTX 3060 TI for 589euros, The question is if my PC can handle it mainly because of its power supply I would assume but I have no idea what kind of power supply it has or if the power supply is able to be replaced without buying a new case but everything I find online says it is an 850watt PSU. I also do not know if my motherboard is compatible with this card. On the motherboard it states PCIe X8 next to the slot 1 where my current graphics card is. It is a ALIENWARE motherboard and I have no clue what is and is not compatible with it. I also have a hard time finding the name of the motherboard but in big bold letters on the front of it stands IPKBL- SC but I found in the pc hardware listing alienware 07hv66. Now all of that story out of the way. Can anyone tell me if my motherboard is compatible with this card and if I need to buy a new case/power supply first?

Hello everyone, I recently decided to overclock my MSI GTX 1060 6G video card using MSI Afterburner. I got some great results initially, but I think I went a little too far because during one very GPU intensive cutscene in RDR2 my computer froze and didn't even want to boot anymore. I eventually got it to boot by removing the CMOS battery for a bit but my game ran really poor all of a sudden. I decided to remove the overclock but this didn't fix it, so I tried a little overclocking, a little downclocking, more power, checked the GPU temps and other stats which all seemed fine. I am at a loss because none of my games will run properly anymore, dropping frames all over the place but averaging around my usual FPS still. Can anyone help me fix my PC? I have attached a GPU-Z log file beneath while running a game of Halo infinte below, hope that might indicate something to someone here.GPU-Z Sensor Log.txt

Hello, I have this workstation at my work. I am here because as you probably know Adobe sucks. Photoshop is very slow especially on scrubby zoom. Also, I can actually feel the mouse latency and everything I change size or move it's extremely choppy. If I had to describe it I would say it's like Photoshop runs with 10-15 FPS and mouse even reaches half a second latency. Can someone please help me as it drives me crazy every day? Is this because the 1060 can't drive the 5k Monitor? GPU utilization is around 30-35% though.

Hi All, I'm trying to prepare for Windows 11 and for that I am trying to activate Secure Boot from BIOS. I already have TPM 2.0 activated from Bios and my BIOS is in UEFI mode I've also checked that my GPU supports UEFI Now from my BIOS, I've tried to activate Secure Boot 1. I turned CSM Support off 2. Then I went to 'Secure Boot' option and set up a Platform Key (default from board) After doing this I was told by the system to ensure that my GPU supports UEFI and then I ENabled 'Secure Boot'. After this when I saved the changes and exited, my system went in to a sort of boot loop. This X470 Ultra Gaming board has 4 diagnostic LEDs and the boot, rather POST sequence normally does this, gpu->cpu->ram->boot and complete, I see the windows logo. But after enabling secure boot, it was going like this gpu->cpu->ram->gpu->...loop and teh screen was blank. I had to remove the battery to clear cmos and restore the system back. So now I would like your help on this, like is any settings I need to configure in BIOS, before i attempt to turn on secure boot again. My system summary: Motherboard: Gigabyte x470 Ultra Gaming (rev 1), BIOS version F6 Processor: Ryzen 5 2600 RAM: 16GB Corsair (8*2) @ 3Ghz GPU: MSI Geforce GTX 1060 6GB (OC V2) Thanks, Souvik

So I was wondering if my GTX 1060 can handle 3 monitors at 1080p at least at 60fps but ideally 144fps. I understand that it would not be able to play games that are heavy on the graphics but I would be playing games like Minecraft, Skyrim, and sometimes bigger games like RDR2. My pc also has 16gb of ram and has an intel i7-8700 for a processor.

Hi, so the quick back story... I switched my GTX 1060 6gb with my Friends RX 5500xt 4gb because it got way to loud under noice. So now I have the RX 5500xt which should be better. I properly installed the GPUs, and did a full uninstall of the drivers before. The Problem now is; The Rx 5500xt 4gb is performing way lower then the GTX 1060 6gb in all Games that I play. And I mean WAY lower. With the 1060 I was able to play Apex for example at FULL HD at Mid-High settings at about 144fps, with the 5500xt I am struggeling to get the 30fps on super low. In other Games I also have this problem but not to this extend. But it is still noticable, like 40fps less at least then the GTX 1060. I tried a new and clean drivers install, the drivers are updatet and I tried stuff in the AMD driver but nothing worked. I looked online but couldn't find a lot about it. (Yes I have enough cooling) My PC specs: Ryzen 3 3200g 3200mhz 16gb dual channel RAM Aorus Gaming M Matx MB 650w Platinum Seasonic PSU RX 5500xt 4GB Samsung 970 EVO M.2

I recently brought an GTX 1060 Asus Turbo 3GB, and I swapped my old GT 430 with this GTX 1060. I connected everything correctly and I pressed the power button, PC starts, beep 1 time after 5-10 seconds and the "no signal" from the monitor disappears and it remains black and the BIOS doesn't shows. My motherboard is Acer Veriton M4610G with the latest BIOS which is P01.B0 from 2012/10/15. With my old GT 430 and with the integrated graphics it boots fine. Can the GTX 1060 be faulty? Or it's an incompatibility with my motherboard? I tested the GTX 1060 on my friend PC and the same thing happened (he has an even older motherboard with 775 socket).

Hi all, I am in the market for a new GPU. (The unit does not have to be new) One big thing about my PC setup is the fact that it is white and grey themed, so I want a white and grey GPU. I found the older GTX 1060 DUAL and 1070 DUAL from ASUS and they look great. However, on Newegg, Amazon, Microcenter, Best buy, ect. all of the units are hundreds of dollars over MSRP and I don't feel like spending $750 on a GTX 1060. I found multiple used and new ASUS DUAL GTX 1060 6GB on ebay for reasonable prices. I also found some VERY reasonable used GTX 1070's (around $100-$200) Some of my friends have had not good experience with art supplies and some other things on ebay (none with PC parts). I know to look at the sellers reviews and the product reviews and I feel confident that I could find a good seller with a good deal. I just want to make sure that i'm not gonna spend around $200 and get nothing. If someone has had good experiences that would be very helpful (Also which one should I get? GTX 1060 6GB or GTX 1070, bother ASUS DUAL models) Thanks for all the help!!!

Hello. I have a I7 2600 with 16 gb ram and GTX 1060 3GB. I currently dont have enough money and dont think it is worth it for me to upgrade the whole system since the processor is holding up well to this day. I want to upgrade my GTX 1060 3GB. What is the best option that will not be considerably bottlenecked by the processor? Budget 200-300€

As the title says, I believe this is an issue with the DisplayPort on my gtx1060. The error occurred when I was using my VR system, mid-way through playing after taking a short drink break it suddenly went off and wouldn't come back on. I went through VIVE's support and they gave me no useful information after sending them the system report. I have two vives and both of which have the same error when plugged in. I eventually came to the conclusion that the DP in the graphics card was the issue but I have no idea if there is a fix or if this has happened before. Thought I'd ask before I fork out for a new graphics card. Thanks.

Good evening. I use a GIGABYTE notebook model P57V6, I have been using it without problems since 2016/17. Here is my system info: OS Windows 10 Home. CPU: i7-6700HQ RAM: 16gb DDR4 GPU: GTX 1060 Storage: 120gb SSD boot 525gb SSD(uses the SATA connector that was originally slottet for a dvd reader) 1tb HDD It has never been formatted before. (because I lack the knowledge =/) In the last few days I have been experiencing freezes followed by crashes and even BSODs when playing modded Minecraft and League of Legends. Really this whole ordeal started with Minecraft and when I gave up on trying to make the game run with the mods I experienced the same freezes, crashes and BSODs on League. Note that before the minecraft thing I could play anything. That made me think if something was going on with the hardware side (overheating or something), so I cleaned it and changed the thermal paste. No change, I booted it up and when I got in game, same stuff happened. It lasts for a couple minutes on normal FPS and all of a sudden it freezes, sometimes the screen goes black and it crashes. Downloaded FurMark and stress tested my system, it gets hot but doesn't freeze nor crashes. Downloaded Cinebench, CPU wise was normal but when i ran the OpenGL, cinebench crashed. Opened it again and it ran normally, 76.66 fps. I fear either the GPU is failing or something went awry with the software. Would really appreciate some way to solve this because during this quarantine having a gaming notebook really helps. Thanks in advance!

Hello, i have problem that i cant figure out.... spent 20 h trying to fix it, nothing worked. So the problem is that, one day PC was doing great everything was ok, but next morning performance was down. Everything was lagging freezing, programs were taking to slow to open, and could not run multiply programs at same time. Noticed the GPU had some performance problems, it was constantly dropping , at those moment games also were lagging, freezing, crashing. Dont know why the games were not running as smooth as they did. Also GPU where using only a half of its posibilities. Usually i could hear my GPU working but now it was just quiet. Dont know what is happening Did a windows reinstall and problem still remains. Lowering the graphics or anything else changes nothing. Still same issues, lagging, freezing, fps drops, crashing. PC spec: CPU - i5 8300h GPU - GTX 1060 6gb RAM - 8 gb HDD - 1T SDD - 128GB Operating system - Windows 10 Pro Dont know what else to do, how to fix it. also found out in intel extreme tuning unity that my CPU has thermal throttling and using only one core and its speed is locked on 0.80 Ghz(not mooving) instead of 2.30Ghz not great at this kind of things, so im asking for help.

Hi guys. I wanted to ask what's the diference between Asus A*G series and O*G series. At my local online shop we have Asus Strix GTX1060 A6G which costs around 260 USD and O6G which costs 380 USD. They have the same specs the only difference is in the name. Thanks for response! ?

Hi, I'm going to refresh my pc but my budget is limited and I have 2 options. But first I should tell what build I actually have: -Pentium G4560 -GTX 1050ti -8GB DDR4 @2400MHz -240GB SSD + 1TB HDD -MSI H110m PRO-VD -SilentiumPC Vero L1 500W And now my main problem: CPU or GPU upgrade (I can only do one of them right now)? I've been thinking about i5 9400f but there will be a huge bottleneck because of 1050ti. Or maybe should I stay with G4560 for now and go for GTX1650/1060/RX580. EDIT: my budget is limited and these are my options, nothing better than that Right now my most played game is CS:GO and I know I should go for CPU upgrade but I'm coming back to Black Desert and because it's a great looking game I'm thinking about GPU upgrade. Beside games I'm doing some 3D modeling (AutoCAD/Inventor), photo editing (Photoshop), video editing (Sony Vegas) but this things are not that important. What do you think guys? Sorry for any grammar mistakes, english isn't my main language

Hi Guys! First time posting here. I was hoping to receive some suggestions on a possible deal i was looking forward to conclude in the next few days. I'm currently using an Asus N580VD FI038T which features an i7-7700HQ, screen up to 4K res., Gtx1050 4gb, 16gb Ram, 512 Ssd and 1tb Sata. Since i wanted some extra boost while doing my music production & design stuff i bought a Mi Gaming Notebook (i7-7700, 16gb Ram, 256gb SSD, 1tb SATA, and a Gtx1060 6gb) for about $800 while on offer. Basically this one: https://it.gearbest.com/laptops/pp_1698596.html I've barely set it up cause i was looking forward to organize everything between the external drives and the Asus in first place and then move on the MI. Thing is...today i've seen another Mi Gaming notebook and a sudden regret bout' the latest purchase kicked in....as this time featuring an i7-9750H, Gtx2060, 144Hz screen, 16gb Ram, 512gb Ssd and the usual 1tb Sata. for about $1450. https://www.banggood.com/Xiaomi-Gaming-Laptop-15_6-inch-Intel-Core-i7-9750H-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX2060-144Hz-16GB-GDDR4-RAM-512GB-PCle-SSD-Notebook-p-1585486.html?rmmds=cart_middle_products&ID=3162&cur_warehouse=CN So now i'm stuck wondering if i should go for that one considering the hardware specs and sell the other two notebooks (got a possible buyer for the Asus already) or just keep the first MI with GTX1060 and wait for something else later on. I've no experience with the 20xx series of cards and beside knowing bout' the raytracing features that latest games support other than 3d modelers suck as Blenders via add-ons, i was also wondering if there's issues of any sort while using them on Windows10. Any info and suggestion is appreciated!

Hi there. I'm looking to upgrade my 24" 1080p screen to a 27" monitor. Now I wouldn't go 27 1080p so I'd at least need to upgrade to 1440p and if I do that I want to go 144Hz with freesync just to be prepared for whenever I upgrade my new PC. My current rig is - GTX 1060 6GB (1.62GHz with Turboclock to 1.847GHz) - Intel i5 4670k @ 4.6Ghz I'm just looking for insights and people's different opinions to break out my endless cycle of looking for a new monitor and ending up concluding I need a whole new PC. I currently run Borderlands 3 on ~60FPS on High settings. I don't mind if the average FPS drops to 45-50 on 1440p, I think combined with a higher resolution and freesync that will be a nier experience than 60FPS locked on 1080p I also don't mind if I have to tone down quality a bit to maintain a steady FPS and since I also play a lot of LoL the 144Hz will be used for that but not for other games. My issue is that I'm afraid my current GPU might not suffice and if I have to upgrade my GPU I think my CPU might bottleneck let's say a 5700X. So here I am asking for input and advice what to do.
