Hello, so I am planning to buy a Geforce GTX1660 super but I see different brands like EVGA 1660, MSI 1660 or ROG 1660 and other more. Is the performance of the 1660 still the same or does it vary from brand to brand?

Alright so here is my problem or rather my question if I have a problem. I've been having annoying fan noises when gaming. I assumed it was my stock ryzen cooler but I found out that it's my GTX 1070 Mini. So I went on to check my temps with MSI Afterburner and create a costum fan curve. Here is what I'm having trouble with: Without my custom fan curve, the card runs at around 75% fan speed at 82/83°C while gaming. Manually truning the speed to 100% doesn't cool the card down any more. Yet turning the fan speed down to 50% doesn't make it hotter either but a lot quietter (Haven't tried going down further yet). Now some will probably say, that even though it doesn't get hotter it will thermal throttle. If so, I can't feel it in game. When idleing temps are around 54°C at 25% fan speed, it does actually go down to 45°C at 100% fan speed, but who would want that noise level. So my question is, am I damaging my card when letting it run at 83°C under load and 54°C on idle? Honostly I wouldn't know what to change, but load temps seemed high to me, so I thought I'd ask. Which would be better? Acer Nitro 5 AN515-44: AMD Ryzen 4600H, 1650Ti 4GB VRAM, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 144hz 15" Screen - £770 -OR- Asus Zephyrus G GA502DU - AMD 3750H, 1660Ti Max-Q 6GB VRAM, 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 120Hz 15" Screen - £732 I'm leaning to the Zephyrus for it's better GPU and slimmer design, but the Nitro 5 does have a significantly better CPU and a 2.5" Bay for an SSD upgrade (although the Asus has a 2nd NVMe). I've whittled down to these two based on current offers and sales in my area, anyone have either or have advice on which is better? Thanks!

I custom built my PC in 2016, CPU: i5 6500 GPU: gtx 1050ti RAM: 16gb ram PSU: 500w bronze from evga Mobo: msi h110m gaming So i was wondering what is a good mid-level graphics card I could buy for high 1080p gaming? I did some research and the gtx 1660 super looks like a good deal for price to performance. If not should I wait longer until the gtx 3060 or something equivlant comes out in the future from either nvidia or AMD (being the same price point).

Hey guys, I am looking to reporpose my home server to use it as a low end gaming rig at my girlfriends place. I currently have a Quadro K2000 used for transcoding Plex video and audio streams. Is it possible to install a GTX 1660 and use that for gaming and dedicate the K2000 to the Plex application? How will the drivers react?

I have a Legion 5i gaming laptop with GTX 1650 graphics card. Yesterday Nvidia released new Driver update for Watch Dogs Legion. Should I update the drivers through Geforce Experience as few years back it was like that only the graphics drivers provided by the laptop manufacturer shoul be used in laptops. Is it safe to update through Geforce Experience or wait and hope that lenovo will some day provide an update for the drivers.

Before I start, I know this issue was brought up dozens of times but none of the fixes worked for me and the posts are fairly old. Setup: AMD Ryzen 5 1600, MSI B350 PC Mate, MSI 1070ti (OC), 2x 8gb Corsair Vengeance OC 3000Mhz Monitors: BenQ 24" LED - RL2455 (@60Hz) HDMI, Samsung C27HG70 (@144hz) DP, btw. the samsung monitor is honestly the worst expierience I've ever had with a monitor the stand is so big that it takes up half of the desks depth and HDR is awful in windows. Running latest Nvidia Drivers and Windows Issue: Whenever content is displayed on the 60Hz display, the 144hz gets "throttled" to 60hz. This doesn't happen while I'm in fullscreen on my main monitor but always tabbing out is so annoying and not a fix for me. Troubleshooting list: Disabling Hardware Acceleration in Chrome and Opera Scaling to GPU Setting second Display to a dividable number of 144Hz (72Hz) Setting main Display to a multiple of 60Hz (120Hz) Using a different browser than chrome Using Nvidia Inspector and turn on Multi Monitor performance mode I'd be so thankful if someone can help me out

okay so before everyone starts saying gtx 1650 is bad for value i have an oem build which the psu has no 6pin connectors so the best card with 75w of power was the gtx 1650 single fan. its been working fine but maybe the i7 3rd gen is too strong for it since like it sits on 20-30% while the card is like at 100 and i know thats not necessarily too bad since the other way around is worse but like maybe the game is not that processor demanding or is it that the chip is stronger or sth pls help

Hi, I have a Lenovo legion y520 with an i7-7700hq and a gtx 1050 Ti M and the cursed 2004 windows 10. A few days ago I updated the geforce driver in geforce experience. Yesterday all of a sudden the laptop froze so i restarted and got a blue screen of death. After restart it started the automatic repair, but it couldn't do anything, and just popped me into the "Chose an option" screen, so no option, I reinstalled windows (and formatted my drive). At first everything went smooth until i installed the graphics diver, but when i restarted the laptop to "finish drive update" i just got a bsod. After that the pc reverts itself to a previous version, which is the state before i installed the driver. I tried using an older version of nvidia driver, but nothing changed, same bsod. At this point i don't know what to do, or what happened. I hope some of you know what the problem is. Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi there! I am in the market for a new GPU. My system color scheme is white + grey and I can't find a well-priced white/grey GPU anywhere. I was looking at the Gigabyte RTX 2060 Gaming OC WHITE edition, but it is either sold out constantly, or hundreds (and I mean HUNDREDS) of dollars over MSRP. I was also taking a look at the older Asus Dual models, such as the GTX 1060 ti, or the GTX 1070 ti, but those are also way overpriced or out of stock everywhere. Then I was looking at the GALAX GTX 1660 SUPER EX WHITE or the GALAX RTX 2060 mini white oc. However, I have a few concerns about GALAX. 1: I can't find any reviews for either of the cards, ANYWHERE 2: Barely any of the the retailers that I use sell them.(In the US, I have not look elsewhere) 3: They are not even sold on the GALAX.com/store website. If someone could help me find a white/ grey GPU under $300, it will be much appreciated. I have thought about painting a GPU, but I feel like I will break something, also I dont want to go around voiding the warranty. I have also thought about the MSI VENTUS models, and I think that I would have to go higher end ones to get what I'm looking for. I want it to be long enough so that I takes up most of my case (recommended 300mm GPU, but I have seen GPU's in it go to over 305mm) I might get the MSI VENTUS 1660 ti model and get a vertical GPU bracket, so I can see the silver accents and so it can add some length. ANY HELP IS WELCOME!!!! EDIT: Wait- what if I skin the GPU in vinyl wrap, is that something that I could do?

I've always found the blower fan on this card to be quite noisy but it wasn't installed on my main system so I never gave much tought about it. Recently I started to think about installing Unraid on the main system to run two windows and linux VMs side by side on the same computer and I wanted to do pci passthrough so I needed a second GPU. But the fan of the 970 even at idle and at minimum RPM was still noisy so I decided to buy on amazon a simple 5 euros 12V thermostat that will cut off power to the fan under a certain temperature limit. The thermostat, as it works with 12V, get's powered from the 8 pin connector and I've locked the thermal sensor in between some fins of the cooler and then covered it in thermal paste. After some testing I found that the card with the fan turned off ad idle never went over 71C (it's a bit toasty but still acceptable) so I set the thermostat to give power to the fan at 77C (to make sure that the fan will turn on only if some long workload on the gpu started) and to turn it off at 62C. Here is a picture of the finished work:

But when I try with another monitor with DisplayPort it doesn't beep and it doesn't show any Error Code When I start with HDMI it works and it does not beep. Anyone knows how to fix it? My screen is pitch black with these 2 horizontal blocks in the middle. This happens with the newest drivers. With the older drivers the pc just reboots before entering windows. What could be causing this? drivers? vram? vrm? power? Any idea? Is there anything that I can do or is it time to bin the card?

Trying to get the NVIDIA BROADCAST APP to work on laptop with GTX 1060. My current progress, download the app: https://www.nvidia.com/nl-nl/geforce/broadcasting/broadcast-app/ run the install leave open go to C:\temp copy folder 'NVIDIABroadcast' close app installer. copy folder back to C:\temp in file 'setup.cfg' on line 75. change the level value to 'warn' <custom name="NvBroadcastSupportCheck" text="${{NVIDIABroadcastNotSupportedMessage}}" level="warn"/> start "C:\Temp\NVIDIABroadcast\setup.exe" you still get not supported gpu warning but you can continue That is how far I could go. Think in the "NVIDIABroadcast\NvVirtualCamera\NvVirtualCamera.nvi" file you would need to change something else to pass the virtual camera checks, but can't figure out.

My pc won't turn on. I press the power switch but it won't turn on. The motherboard is receiving power as the green light lights up. I got a new power supply as the old one had weird noises comming from it. The power button does work because I used a tester on it. I have concluded that its the motherboard, cpu or the ram please help me because I don't have enough money to buy all three just one of them. I have also checked all the cables and they have no problem. My system spec is: Cpu: Xeon e3 1225 Gpu: Gtx 1070 Strix MB: asus P8B75m-le Ram: ddr3 8gb 1600mhz 1 stick HDD: 512gb Seagate Case: Aerocool bolt Old psu: corsair tx650 New psu: corsair cx550 Cpu cooler: arctic freezer v1 It used to work before until I fixed some cable managing and then would not turn on.
