I have a NVIDIA Gtx 950 that i can't control the fan speed of it. MSI Afterburner says it is at 20% but i think it is more than that since the gpu is running very loud. If i want to tweak it with any software it wouldn't change the speed

and why not So being the proud owner of the hotbox known as the Q500L one of the things I wanted to achieve was lower the temps on my GTX950, under full furmark testing she was running at an average of just under 75c. I mean in the best Top Gear tradition just how hard can it be ;o) Actually it was surprisingly easy so after acquiring some parts ie a cheap noname generic gpu waterblock from China via fleabay An unloved Corsair H55 again from the bay of fleas (chosen because the pump is integrated in the radiator) The shroud and fans for a Maxsun GTX950 from our friends at Aliexpress (rationale being to keep the airflow over the VRM & Heatsinks, card is longer than the original single fan item) 1m of 6mm ID 9mm OD rubber hosing form Amazon Some G1/4 to 6mm barbs 1 litre of coolant ( total cost of the above was around £55 / Can$95 /US$/78) I set to work putting it all together. I was pleasantly surprised to find in my mockup that the Maxsun shroud needed no physical violence to sit it nicely on top of the water bloack (yes I still need a better solution that it just sitting there, more on that later). Next u was to fill the system so armed with a large syringe to Prime it and one of my GFs pyrex dishes I proceeded to fill it and then power it up via a fly lead from the PC so that I could work on making sure there was more air out of it than the day it left Corsair. This is where having the H55 came into its own as no electrics needed dunking. I then left it running for a few hours to satisfy myself there were no leaks before slapping it in the Q500L and seeing how she did. Straight off idle was down to 28/30 c (ambient today was 19.5c) from the more usual 60-62c in stock config. Moving on to an hourlong furmark test she ended up running at an average 55.89 for a one hour test taking over 30 minutes to reach a stable mtemp of around 58c. This is against an average of 74.8c rising almost immediately load applied from idle in stock config. Note, this test was done with the fan on the rear radiator running at only 680-700 rpm as tied to CPU temps. I was supposed to be switching to an Aquacomputer Octo which amongst other things would allow me to tie the rear and top fan(which blows down on the GPU) to the GPU temps. Its also during this test I wondered if the shrod and fans was actually necessary as (on their stock curves) they never actually kicked in. I then ran a second test with case fans at around 1600rpm and this time GPU temps flatlined at 43c within 5 minutes or so Bits & Bobs Initial Mockup Watch out for the (mini) turkey baster All snug as a bug in a rug

Yesterday I tried swapping my parts into a new mobo, which I eventually decided not to use, but put all my parts back together how they originally were. After connecting everything I’m not able to get a display. The only thing I can think of is that when taking out my GPU from the other mobo I had to pull it out since the latch on the mobo was broken for the PCI lane. Since putting my GPU back in with my original mobo the fans spin for about 15 seconds and then stop (not sure if that’s how they always were and don’t know if they’re set up to control their RPM by themselves, etc.) However today after trying some of the fixes people on reddit told me to try nothing helped. Today I tried putting in my old EVGA gtx 550ti to see if the card was shocked from static electricity or maybe the PCI was damaged. However, I got no display (which is sorta a good thing). So my question is, is my mobo more than likely dead. Still gets power to fans, cpu, and hard drives but giving no display to GPU. If it is, am I safe to buy a new mobo and everything working. Or do you guys have any suggestions as to why everything else is receiving power but my GPU’s won’t give a display? Parts: MOBO - GIGABYTE 78LMTS2 GPU - gtx 950 CPU - amd fx 6300 16gb of ddr3 (forget the brand) PSU - EVGA 450W

Hello, I've recently upgraded my motherboard, CPU and RAM in my PC, and I'm having some difficulty troubleshooting this issue. I was able to change my refresh rate to 144hz before the upgrade, but since I've updated it I haven't been able to. My refresh rate for my 144hz monitor in NVIDIA Control Panel only allows me to go to 100hz, and when I enable 100hz it makes the screen look very pixelated despite being set to 1080p. I've tried updating drivers, reinstalling drivers, reinstalling GeForce Experience, Reseating my GPU, everything I could think of. I tried making a custom resolution and changing the refresh rate there, but the screen would just turn black and eventually go back to the previous set resolution after ~30 seconds. I'd appreciate any help/recommendations for this, thanks. CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 Motherboard - MSI B450 Gaming Plus Max GPU - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 Monitor - ASUS VG248QE

Bought this rx 590 a week ago, but i'm not happy with it, i specially bought it cause people suggested me to buy an amd gpu because i meant to do graphics designing with it. but it had some driver issue like msi, gpu-z cant show its temp, core clock or anything, msi afterburner doing the same,,it cant even so its driver version, but then i found wattman, then i'm like "ok , let's be easy with it and its to forget about other 3rd party software' cause wattman was showing everything,, i was kinda happy until now like i said i bought it for graphics designing so i installed unreal engine 4, and it doesn't work, i though its engine problem so i installed another version and still facing the problem, it lags like 1frame per 5 sec, and if i click on something then a black bar appears, i again thought i should update my windows 10, but before updating i installed my old gtx 950, and unreal engine 4 works smoothly, not a single lag or black bar, now i just don't know what to do,,doesn't amd support unreal engine? or is there something to do with my gpu hardware/software? Wasted all those money for nothing, now cant even use what i always wanted to first time using amd gpu and i'm not even satisfied.

Hey, I'm getting error 14 on my gpu and if I restart my computer the gpu does not show up in device manager. To fix this I have to run display driver uninstaller and when I reboot the error code 14 persists. I'm Using: Acer Aspire E15 (Has previously accepted EGPU), EXPGDCV8.4, GTX 950

You happen to be at a local garage sale. You notice a greenish wall in the back of the open garage. It's a stack of NIB GTX 710, 730, 950s. PNY XLR8s Never mind the truck they fell off... What do you do? 710s and 730s 15 USD. 950s $30 I walked away with all of his 950s and had a 730 thrown in. What would you do?

From last few days, my mouse was double clicking and I was very annoyed so I just tried plugged it out and plugged in my old mouse, when suddenly the screen freezed. So I pressed reset button and then when system restarted there was no display. The system was on as Power and HDD LED were on. I also noticed that fan of my GPU Gigabyte GTX 950 OC edition is not spinning. I switched the HDMI cable to motherboard plug and still there was no display, but after some time came up. After I restarted the display was blank for sometime on both the ports and it worked on motherboard. I don't know how to troubleshoot this!!

I am asking that is it good than GTX950 is overclocked to 1540Mhz of boost clock? I tried to put to 1550Mhz, but it is unstable after that, And the power limit is 120% which is 120Watts (Original was 90 watts So is it good or bad for a 950? also, memory clock is at 3600Mhz

Hi everyone! I'm currently running with a setup that consists of a Gtx 950 and a 1080p 144Hz monitor. The problem is that I can't have the video settings that I want on the majority of my games and they're running at low FPS. I have money, so I wonder if it's worth it to spend like 725 usd for a Gtx 1080. I've heard that Nvidia might be releasing their new mainstream Gpu's this autumn. So I'm also wondering if I should wait for them to be released so that the price drops on the 1080's.

So I've been having issues with my display for 2 weeks. My monitor kept freezing/green screening randomly and for some reason everytime i Alt+Tabbed it also green screened for a few seconds. Is my gpu dying ? or is it my monitor ?

I've been using a 950 for my rig for quite a while and for some reason these past few days my screen started glitching and freezing randomly when Im playing games and doing other stuff. I've tried to record it and it seems there's no problem on my video while my screen froze/glitched. Is it my screen or is it my 950 ?

Hi, I was messing around with Afterburner, trying to do some mild OC and noticed this: Power limit: 120 Temp limit: 92 (priority) Core Clock: +78 Mem clock: +25 Temps. around 46 when Overwatch is open on the training room. I used it for about an hour and didn't noticed anythig abnormal. The spike on the left I think that happened when I minimized OW, but when the other occurred, I was using Opera with one or two tabs open (google and reddit) and Whatsapp Opera. Does that mean that is time to change my PSU? Extreme Power Plus 650W. It has maybe 4 years.

Ive been looking into buying a gtx 950 for my alien ware x51 r2 that i bought back in December of 2014. I know ew alien ware ew pre built but around black Friday I will be looking into building a new pc with a 1070. So as for my question, is my PSU powerful enough for a gtx 950? I think I have the 240W external psu for my pc but am not sure as some have 180w. As the pc will only be used for a few more months as my main computer and after for LAN parties, I dont want to have to spend more money on upgrading to the psu to the 330w unless necessary. If anyone is able to give me answers id appreciate it or any other gpu recommendations (the 950s ive been seeing are around 75-85 USD i dont want to go higher than that unless the other recommendation is more expensive but will not require a psu upgrade). Thank you and here is my current specs. gtx 745 4GB 6gb ram 1330MHz i3 4150 3.5GHz 1TB HDD 240w external psu (or 180w not sure)

Anyone ever have a Maxwell card crash randomly in game under full load for no reason, this card does it in every game eventually, like 30 minutes to an hour ish. I've tried everything I know of just short of throwing it out the window. I've used GPU-Z to monitor what was going on at the time of the crash and the GPU wont clock back down from max unless I disable it in device manager or hard boot the PC. I'm interested to see if anyone can think of anything I haven't already tried

Hello everyone, right now I have a GTX 950. https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Cooling-Graphics-02G-P4-2956-KR/dp/B013WQC9Z2 I want to upgrade and I found a GTX 1050 for $100 after rebate on Newegg. Is it worth it or is there a better gpu for about $50 more? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487297&ignorebbr=1 Thank you.

Hello. I currently have a build with a gtx 950 and an athlon x4 860k with a 430 watt evga power supply. However, I plan to upgrade my CPU to an fx 8370. Is an evga 80+ 430 watt psu enough for this build? Old Specs: CPU: Athlon X4 860K w/ stock cooler GPU: GTX 950 evga ssc RAM: 1x4 GB ddr3 1600mhz and 1x8 gb ddr3 1600mhz HDD: Seagate Barracude 1tb 7200rpm Disc Drive: LG Blu-Ray Drive 14x What I plan to upgrade to: CPU: FX-8370 @ 4 ghz with wraith coolerGPU: GTX 950 evga sscRAM: 1x4 GB ddr3 1600mhz and 1x8 gb ddr3 1600mhzHDD: Seagate Barracude 1tb 7200rpmDisc Drive: LG Blu-Ray Drive 14x All of this I plan to be powered by an evga 430 watt 80+ power supply. Is that psu sufficient enough for this build? Acording to Cooler Master's Power Consumption Calculator, it will use 339 watts at load and recommends 389 watts and a 460 watt cooler master psu.

I am thinking about upgrading my GPU, I have a GTX 950. I was wondering if it would be worth the upgrade to GTX 1050 ti at $210.99. The 1060 6GB in my country isn't really worth it roughly anywhere from $359.99 to $379.99 before taxes and the 1060 3GB roughly starting at $268.99 to $299.99. Thanks.

I am building a computer for my cousin using some old pc parts I have left over. We are on a 350 dollar budget which I can meet if we use my old gtx 950, however, I want to make a case for saving the extra dough for either a gtx 1060 and rx480, but i have no baseline. What kind of milage can he expect out of the 950, 1060, and rx 480? I am basically looking for some ammo to try to convince him. So far the build is: CPU: g4560 Mobo: ga-ba250m mATX Mem: corsair vengance lpx 8gb (single stick) Psu: ega 500 watt 80+white Storage: wd blue 1tb Gpu: gtx 950, gtx 1060, or rx 480
