Hey guyzz.. sorry for my bad english .. i was getting a very good deal at gtx 780 founder edition from evga for 120$ .. it requires one 6 pin and one 8 pin connector.. but my dell 525 watt psu has only two 6 pin connectors.. now i need a solution without changing a power supply.. i also wanted to mention that my power supply has one molex connector too.. i have attached the pictures of my dell power supply.. please give me a solution which is less risky without changing a power supply.. i saw 6 pin to 8 pin adapters but i hear that it is very risky.. please help or if you can give me a suggestion of another alternative for gtx 780 then you can i will check it in my country online store and let you know the price of that ASAP ( because ebay and other famous websites doesn't support my country) overall specs. xeon x5670 at stock speed. 8 gb ddr3 ram 525 watt power supply

So this started happening about 2 months ago after leaving my computer untouched for a month(I was on vacation). I noticed that despite running the exact same OC settings my scores in benchmarks and games are consistently about 5% lower. Not a huge amount I know, but its very consistent. I just can't seem to figure out why i magically lost 5% of performance.Things I've tried:-older drivers-fresh windows installation-editing power limits in Kepler bios tweaker-cleaning the graphics card-different OC software -different motheboardNow here's the frustrating part. The power limit seems to be literally stuck. I've tried monitoring it with GPU-Z and it always throttles at 240-250W even if I set the TDP to like 500W in the vbios. Also MSI Afterburner shows different values compared to GPU-Z which actually scales properly with vbios power settings. For example MSI afterburner will always show 99% power usage at 250W no matter what its set at in the vbios whereas GPU-Z will show for example 80% power usage if its using 250 and its set to 300W. None of this matters though because I'm constantly power limited and its very frustrating because it prevents me from a higher OC(currently running only 1150mhz). The power supply is a 550W from XFX so pretty decent. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there guys yesterday i installed the new 416.34 nvidia drivers and since i restarted my PC it's been very slow and unresponsive,my mouse is lagging and i can't even open a folder . After 2h of digging in safe mode i noticed that when i Apply my Overclock to the gpu only then it starts to behave like that. And no it's not unstable overclock i have been running it like that for maybe a year now no problems. And also no matter how much oc i apply it's still doing the same. Same using EVGA Precision X . I tried installing nvidia drivers one more time also tried reinstalling MSI afterburner. Also tried to load optimized defaults in the bios since i had a 700mhz overclock on my fx 8350 and i thought it might be the coulprit. Still no luck. What should i try next? Anyone had a problem like that?

Hi, I have tried to run the BV beta, but it can't run on my computer. I have a Geforce GTX 780 gpu, a Intel i5-4670k and 16gb ram, do I have to upgrade both the gpu and cpu to run BV? The gpu is inside the minimum requirments, while the cpu isnt, but I have read that the gpu is the most important? And tips to what I should upgrade to? Have looked at buying a gtx 1070 8gb (either used or on Ebay), but then I cant upgrade the cpu/buy an expensive one.

Hey there guys.So the problem is that i have a GTX 780 Phantom GLH edition which is severely overclocked to like 1060mhz from 863 i believe is the stock reference 780 at.Mine came with 14% overclock both on core and mem already so i pushed her a little more with like 80+ on the core and 300+ on the memory.. Everything looks stable i tried several benchmarks like Unigine Heaven,OCCT and there was 0 errors for like 30minutes of stress testing.. i also tried furmark still no errors there. In some games it runs perfectly with no crashes but in some like Metro 2033 / Last light or the Far Cry 4/5 it crashes with a random color on the screen. My CPU is FX8350 overclocked to 4.5GHz on stock voltage on Asus 970 Pro Gaming Aura motherboard and it's rock solid overclock for me i've tried it on Prime95 blend test for several hours it's not going anywhere. What could be causing this? I already tried clocking it lower on the core but it still crashes? Can it crash from memory overclock and if yes what +mhz should i go for?

Hi All, I've begun to slowly collect parts to build a new PC. I've been researching and comparing everything like crazy and torn between Intel and AMD. But during the Amazon Prime Day sale, I picked up a Ryzen 2700 that went on sale for $299 CAD. That price point got me to purchase it. So here I am all hyped up to target a Motherboard, RAM and a Case next. Everything else will be moved over from my previous build: Power Supply, Hard drives and my EVGA GTX 780 3GB SC. Here is the issue that is causing my heart to sink and get that painful feeling. While researching a new motherboard, I'm seeing some issues related to using a GTX 780 having no display. it doesn't seem board specific, but CPU specific. Looking at some QVL's of motherboards, the 780 is also not listed. Here is one example of the issues I've been reading up on: https://community.amd.com/thread/228819 I have seen similar posts on motherboard forums. Being that I won't be able to test anything until I've completed purchased all the parts, it won't be for a few months. By then, I would not be able to return the processor as I planned to purchase a new part every other paycheck to fit my budget. I had not planned on purchasing a new video card just to go with the system just yet. Is anyone able to help by providing some insight or confirmation that they have successfully built out a Ryzen 2X00 series CPU with a GTX 780? This doesn't appear to affect any Ryzen 1X00 series, just the Ryzen 2X00 series of CPUs. Can anyone please confirm this?

I was woundering if its worth it to upgrade my gaming pc or should I just wait for a couples of years and buy a new one. I have used it for the most for multitasking and online games where was important fastloading of pages and images. For one year now I starting to fill now that performance are not that good that it was before. I have tried to use pc with both Win 7,8 and 10, and couldnt find settings to get such god performance that I had before. After doing some Benchmark tests I found out that som users had better performance with other components. I have trided to find out what is worth replacing but it was to difficult to find out about full compatibility. A lot of questions appeared and I couldnt handle soooo much of information. So guys I just want to share details with you and hope you can help me to decide what should I do to get better performance. Thanks! Here I present to you, another system I built with spare hardware that I don't need but really wanted. Backstory: The motherboard, processor, and graphics card were used in my second system for mostly plex, and backing up of some data but once I upgraded my main rig I downsized that computer to matx and gave it my Xeon E3-1230 v3. I always wanted to find a purpose for the old hardware that was retired. I decided I wanted to do a sleeper build and one of my friends had this lovely Gateway K7-700 shell that he used for his system that he had done some simple things to. These include: USB and audio on front, and painting the interior black. He finally upgraded it so I picked it up from him asap. So. Please stick with me here. For some time now I have been searching for a GPU. while I was looking at some Nvidia cards, I stumbled upon this guy with two 780s for which he asks about 70 bucks(the pair)? Here s what he says: First cards works until he installes the driver. After then install, the very next reboot he gets the sweet irql not less or equal bsod. The second one works, but when he installs the driver, it is not recognised by the pc anymore?? It is really wierd for me seeing these cards failing like that, even more so with the explanation he gives. Should I roll the dice and buy them or is it too fishy? they are about 3 years old Gigabyte Windforce Gtx 780 I also have to mention that I am the type of person who likes doing this kind of stuff and who has done things like this before. Thanks!

So far I've had pretty good success with ocing these in sli, which I thought was pretty surprising, but is my OC just as far as I can go while in sli or is there still some performance to be had on the table with further tweaking. My current settings as reported by EVGA Precision: Power Target 106%, Temp Target: 85C, GPU Clock Offset +177MHz, Mem Clock Offset +297. The fan curve is set to auto under the aggressive preset. According to 3dmark, the pair of cards are running at 1040Mhz (863Mhz). I assume this is the base clock because HWMonitor is reporting speeds of 1189Mhz on the core and 3305Mhz on the memory. Interestingly, the second 780 is running at a slightly slower 1137Mhz. Is this normal for sli or is it because of of my reference cards is by EVGA and the other is an actual reference card by Nvidia? The part numbers on both cards are the same, 03G-P4-2781-KR, but that also links the EVGA model to this guy, which aside from a boost clock 2Mhz higher, is identical to the spec sheet for the reference card. Specs: AMD FX-9590 Cosair H110i GTX Asus 990FX Sabertooth R2.0 16GB G.Skill Sniper 1866Mhz (4x4GB) 2x Nvidia Geforce GTX 780 in sli Corsair RMx 1000w

A have a Inno3D iChiLL GTX 780 HerculeZ X3 Ultra which has been working fine for the past 2 years when my rig was built until 2 nights ago, the GPU's cooler suddenly went from quiet to sounding like a jet engine. It didn't make sense to me since I was only watching Youtube at the time so there's no way for the GPU to have an intensive load. I removed the case's side panel and saw that 1 of 3 fans stopped spinning (the middle one). I guess that something is blocking the motors of the fan which causes it to make whining noises (I'm no tech genius so I could most likely be wrong about this). I've tried removing the card and dusted it off using an air compressor (I didn't dismantle the cooler) and then installed it back into the mobo. I've tried reinstalling drivers yet the problem persists. I've gamed for a couple of hours and then the middle fan slowly spun until it worked normally. Although the problem returned when I rebooted my PC. Here are video and audio samples. Although one fan may be faulty, there are no problems with temps. The temps are the same as when the cooler had three fans spinning. I ran Unigine Valley for about 30 mins and temps never rose beyond 80°C and idle temps are in the 35°C to 40°C range. There may not be issues with temps although the noise kinda bothers me (I can still hear it even with headphones on) and that I might kill the GPU's cooler if it kept on running like this. I've never OC'ed this GPU nor used it for mining. I only use it for gaming, photo, video editing, and watching movies. RMA'ing it is no longer an option since I've bought this card way back in 2014 and Inno3D only has 2-year warranties for GPUs. I have no knowledge and experience in dismantling GPU coolers so I'm guessing that I should just take it to a service center near my location. There is a nearby branch of ActionLabs where I could take my GPU and have them repair it for a fee of PHP 350 (6.69 USD). I'm not sure if they do GPU cooler repairs there but I have trained there for 2 weeks and they fix a lot of stuff, ranging from printers to laptops. What should be my course of action?

I got a GTX 780 from a friend that wasn't working. I have noticed a few things on the PCB that are questionable. I will be providing pictures of the PCB as needed. I'm open to using heat guns but not ovens because I don't have access to an oven.

Hi guys, new member here. I recently got an used GTX 780 (http://www.gigabyte.com.au/Graphics-Card/GV-N780OC-3GD-rev-20#sp) from a friend of mine. It was working in his PC. When I plug it in, it is detected by Device manager and works perfectly fine with the default/inbuilt windows VGA drivers. It however fails after driver installation. I tried installing the drivers by 2 methods: 1. Installing drivers from NVIDIA download page(manual download and install) Result: Installation starts normally, but mid-way the display goes black/monitors go idle and the GPU fan spins at 100%. It stays like this until i manually restart the PC. After reboot, the display goes gray-scale with reduced resolution and I get the error message "Display Driver failed to start". However, the PC doesn't restart (stable) nor the display goes black/turn-off. 2. Windows update (automatic driver installation via device manager) Result: Windows boots up, i can see the welcome screen and the desktop. But after 2-3 secs the screen goes black, the monitor(s) go to idle/stand-by. The system is running normal (not crashing) with no display (I can hear windows sounds, etc.). I have tried almost all the solutions suggested in multiple forum posts on the internet. Everytime i try to reinstall drivers, I always use DDU to clean the previous installation. I found an almost identical thread but unfortunately it has no solution(s). Additional info: I can use my old GTX 650 ti without any problem. Also, if I remove the GTX 780, the iGPU works perfectly as well. I have already tried the GPU with different PSU but to no avail. Any help is highly appreciated. If I missed any info, please let me know. My PC specs are: i7 3770 GTX 780 16 GB DDR3 ASUS p8h61-mx (mobo) 600W PSU (46A on 12V rail) Windows 10 Pro 64bit

gtx 780 windforce crashes when i run games (cs:go, pubg) and sometimes even on the desktop. My graphics card is not overclocked, and I've also tried underclocking it and limiting power but that didn't affect it. I was using a corsair vs650 but i bought a corsair cx450 hoping that that would fix it, but it didn't. I have tried updating drivers, with a clean install, and using older driver versions and that didn't do anything, but any driver versions that might fix this please recommend it to me. It sometimes works fine and i'll be able to run furmark with no problems, but then the next day it will crash again. Does anyone know how to fix this or should I just buy a new card?

Hey there fellow Tech-Tippers! I recently bought a used GTX 780 with an Arctic Accelero Twin Turbo cooler on it. When I unmounted the cooler and the plate that is mounted on the PCB, which obviously cools the VRAM and voltage regulators and stuff, I discovered that some of the paint on the PCB-Plate appears to be a bit burned, it has a brownish hue. However, when the 780 is under full load it barely reaches temperatures of over 53 degrees Celsius (20 deg C ambient). Since there are no fins on the plate that cools the PCB, I wonder whether or not the VRAM and voltage regulators get enough cooling. Obviously 53 degrees Celsius on the GPU would leave me hella space for overclocking, but this would also mean extra heat that has to be taken from the rest of the PCB, wouldn't it? My question now is, since there are no fins on the PCB heatsink, is it safe to overclock the GPU (and/ or the VRAM), or may it damage the PCB components?

I picked up this gtx 780 as is so I did this to my self. It is still not outputting a display on a known good power supply with the 6 and 8 pin securely pushed in and it is pushed securely into the pcie slot. I cleaned the card, replaced the thermal paste, and flashed the bios, and still no luck. Anything I can do before I buy a used toaster oven to throw the PCB in? Thanks.

Hi I am thinking of upgrading my gpu, my current gpu is a hd 5870 so I'm wondering what i should upgrade to. I'm planing to go triple 1080p monitors very soon my budget is decently high for the gpu, I can spend about $320us. I play fairly demanding games like dirt rally and project cars so it needs to handle those games on at least high settings. i cant do sli either. Will my i3 2100 bottleneck the card as well? Thanks for any help you can give

Hello, I've had problems over the past week with GTA V and it filling up my VRAM without any apparent reason. In the graphics settings on GTA V it says its using 1600MB of the 3000MB available. When I'm not running GTA V, gpu-z shows me its using somewhere between 300MB - 400MB. When I just started GTA V and I got outside my garage I get about 2600MB which looks fine. After about 15 minutes of driving around my VRAM slowly fills up until 2900MB+ and then it starts going back to 1fps every now an then for 3 seconds and then back to 60fps. Has anyone had the same problem as me/knows how to fix this? I'm using the latest drivers from nvidia geforce experience and I've disabled any non realtek audio drivers. System config is in my signature below. Kind regards, K0enf0rNL

Hi there, so first of all, while looking through benchmarks for my possible upgrade I took a look at my graphics card and noticed that the lower one of my two 780 had a little pink light on. I have no idea what it is and would like to know if someone knows what it is. Also, I was thinking about switching my 780s for one 1060, because I usually get about the same performance as my friends with their 970s and the 1060 outperforms the 970 and wouldnt cost me much to upgrade, plus I would get rid of SLI which I grown to dislike due to various bugs with it. Now, while looking on the internet I found conflicting benchmarks concerning the 780 SLIs performance, but usually these benchmarks get more than I do. So I figured I would ask this community as I trust it. Would that switch make sense? Or is something wrong with my setup and Im somehow getting not the performance I should be getting? Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi! I'm having some weird issues with my two year old MSI GTX 780, so I thought I might run a stress test and see how it does. Thing is, I have never done this before so I was hoping you could guide me through it. What software do I need, what do I do with it? Be specific please. In case it's relevant, these are the computer's specs: Motherboard: Asus Z170-A CPU: Intel i7 6700K CPU cooler: Cooler Master Seidon V2 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB GPU: MSI GTX 780 3GB Case: Fractal R5

Hi people, I would know if there is a test or way to check the status of my GPU. I mean if it's working correctly or dying because lately my fps in games that usually runs fine go down for example in League of legends my fps in teamfights drop down until 20 fps and I have a GTX 780 Classified Thanks in advance

Looking for new display | Can my graphics card run 3 monitors?
james12315 posted a topic in Displays
Hello, I am looking to get a third monitor! At the moment I have 2 23" 1080p monitors running off a single GTX 780 (Here) using the HDMI and Display Port (my current monitors don't have DVI). I am looking for another (maybe slightly bigger) 3rd monitor (I am not sure about a budget yet) used for gaming so it doesn't need to be anything special. Another question I have is: Will my graphics card be able to run all 3 monitors? and how should I connect them? I don't know much about monitors so the post might be missing some info, ask if you need any. Thanks
