Hi, I need help finding a fix for what might possibly be a bottleneck. I recently built a pc that worked wonders during the first few days. I left due to vacation for about a month and after coming back, my fps dropped drastically. after running a few tests, I noticed that my CPU usage was spiking up and down, and while playing games, it goes up to 100% while my GPU usage was less than 40% on max video settings. How do I fix this? Warframe fps before: 300+ max settings now: 70-130 max settings

I was hoping to pick up a second hand GTX 1070 and found some online for around £200-250. i was just wondering if people could help me see if this auction is legit. the seller has no reviews and is not selling anything else. my main concern is the card in the photo is not a 1070 and the software would have been changed to appear as a 1070 on my pc. Heya, so... After my old monitor broke, I used the chance and upgraded my system. So I recently bought a 2560x1440p, 144Hz Acer monitor and an EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC (ACX 3.0). I also got a new 650W Corsair power-supply, because I thought that 400W wouldn't be enough. Here are the links to the products: Monitor Graphics card Power supply I noticed my system is underperforming a lot in both Overwatch and League of Legends. Yes, I know. League of Legends. I tuned down my settings in Overwatch from Ultra to High, then from High down to Medium. Nothing seems to change my performance, as it's always sitting around 75-100 FPS. Sure, that's not too little in general, but I bought a 144Hz monitor for a reason, and for a GTX 1070, it's waaay to little FPS. Every video I watched, where someone tested Overwatch on a GTX 1070, they always averaged around 140-160FPS all the time, even in silent mode (MSI) and so on. And League of Legends, oh boy, don't even get me started... I averaged the same FPS on my GTX 660. Never get up to 144, not even close. Usually around 80-120 FPS. In some teamfights with many particles etc. flying around, I even feel the lag. Like, we're talking down into the 40's, if not 30's right now. That s*cks. (ALL UNCAPPED BY THE WAY!) (I haven't overclocked it yet, but that is due to my 3rd fan in my case being dead, so I don't have good cooling right now. I just don't want to damage anything.) Speaking of damaging, my GPU is sitting at around 60-70°C when I play Overwatch (League around 55°C), and the temperature also stays consistent throughout multiple-hour gaming. So that's good. (Even though my case gets warm/hot...) I just let Precision X1 do its thing with automatic fan controls, but weirdly enough, the program only shows one fan, even though the GPU has two. When I set a certain speed to "Fan 1" in Precision X1, the second fan just copies the speed, but it's still not normal, right? I tried reinstalling the program & deleting the whole EVGA file from Program Files (x86), nothing worked. (Also tried Precision OX - same problem.) Here is my current setup: CPU: Core i7-4790 @3.6GHz Motherboard: MSI B85M-G43 GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 SC (ACX 3.0) RAM: 16GB DDR3 (only pretty sure about DDR3) PSU: Corsair Vengeance 650M Case: CoolerMaster K380 Mid-tower Cooling: Aircooled by 2 intake (front, bottom) & 1 exhaust fan(s) (back), top-mounted dust filter removed to let more hot air out My questions: - What could be a reason for my FPS being too low? Bottleneck? --> Does my CPU bottleneck my GPU a lot? - Why does Precision X1 only show 1/2 GPU-fans? - I'm new to system building, what the heckies am I supposed to do heeeeelp! Kind regards, Nashor (P.S. I could still return my GPU or get it replaced for free! Sorry for the long text, by the way.)

hey there tech enthusiasts, like the title says, i think my gpu isnt cooling properly. this is gpu i have: https://tweakers.net/pricewatch/563995/asus-dual-gtx1070-o8g.html i have 4 fans in my case, 2 in/2 out. with 36% fan speed on gpu, it gets 47C on idle, that seems a bit hot, or am i mistaken? see the attached image for more info. if anyone knows if this is too hot or has a solution for me, id be glad to hear it! EDIT: CPU (i5 8600k) is about 40C on idle kind regards, jimmy

I'm doing a setup expansion with a dedicated simrig for simdrifting I just build a dedicated simrig with 3 monitors, I already have 4 monitors in my setup without these 3, so i need a second GPU to power those 3. I don't have the money to buy another 1070 or better, so got a R7 250X (I had laying around) put that in my system, connect the 3 monitors, put them in eyefinity (this all works like a charm) now here is where I need help, I came up with the idea when I watched this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY4s35uULg4& so I want my 1070 to do the rendering and let my R7 250X display what my 1070 rendert, I expect some performance loss offcourse. but I have no idea how to do this properly. Think I finally boiled down to these parts (link), the prices marked $0.00 are the components I already have. If anyone has any suggestions I just want to say that my budget is $1500 AFTER tax (tax is a pain in the ass in British Columbia: 12%). Right now with all the price beats I've put together I've come to $1427.73 CAD after tax. Pretty comfortable with this price, but any suggestions/minor upgrades would be nice! Also it'd be super cool if I could get some pointers/tips for when I build my PC (haven't done a build in 4 years and I don't 100% trust my memory).

Hey all, I recently acquired a used gaming system from my brother with the following specs: i7 6700k 800w corsair PSU MSI GTX 1070 armor 8gb 16gb DDR4 @3000mhz 260gb M.2 SSD It has been working perfectly fine apart from high CPU thermals, so I decided to remove the heatsink to replace the thermal paste. I used an anti-static wristband while doing this (maybe a little excessive, but I like to be careful). To cut the story short, upon re-assembling the PC, the GPU appears to not work. There is no video output through either the DVI or HDMI port, and upon using the onboard HDMI port, the GPU is not detected via device manager (or the BIOS). I would like to mention both of the fans still spin and the die seems to still get hot. Now initially I assumed I had damaged the PCI-E slot on my mobo, but upon trying the GPU in the other PCI-E slot, the results are the same. I have since tried an old GPU (GTX 570) in the original PCI-E slot and have determined that it seems to be fully functional. At this point I was willing to throw in the towel and call it dead, however I wanted to try a few other things first. I have tried all of the following: Disassembled the GPU, cleaned all the dust and replaced the thermal paste Cleaned all of the contacts Cleaned the PCB with a very light electronic cleaner Checked for any visible PCB damage or missing surface-mount components Checked for any shorts or damaged pins Tried all PCI-E slots on my mobo Tried all GPU ports with different cables and connectors Tried my spare PSU I don't have another PC that I can test this card on sadly, although all symptoms seem to indicate that the issue is likely the GPU. I just thought I'd write this thread as a last resort incase anybody could recommend anything I have missed or overlooked. Thanks for any help, and sorry if I have missed any details. :)

So i had this problem last month about my gpu temp. post below i re-applied my thermal paste on my gpu using arctic mx-4 gpu temps: before: idle:48-51c (fan doesn't spin), load: 82c 80% and above fan speed after re-applying: idle:43c, load: 74c 70% fan speed after a week: idle:48c, load 79c 75-80% fan speed should i worry? please help my clueless soul.

Hello, so I've had my two 1070s for a while now, but recently they have been acting up. For some reason one of the cards keeps dropping it's core clock down a lot when gaming, causing my fps to dip super low, even lower than when I only had 1 1070. I've tried many different driver versions, undoing my overclocks and even updating the bios of them both, but nothing I try seems to work. I've been thinking about just selling the two and getting an RTX 2080, but I wanted to know if anyone has any advice to give before I do it. I've looked around countless times, but no one seems to have my same issue. I included a picture of MSI Afterburner's GPU clock graphs of my two cards overlayed. (the one which keeps dipping is card 1). Please help, I've been trying to figure this out for over a month now. My PC specs: Aorus x370 Gaming 5 MoBo Ryzen 7 1800x 16gb of 3600mhz DDR4 2 x Asus Strix GTX 1070 1tb Samsung Evo SATA SSD 1tb Hitachi 7200rpm HDD RMi 1000 watt Corsair PSU My Cards' Core Clocks compared during gaming:

So i have a gigabyte GTX 1070 windforce oc rev.2 as my gpu I got it used. My idle temp is around 48-51 fans sometimes not spinning (i know that it really does that at certain temps but dont knot if temps are accpetable on idle). What I'm worried about is my temps on 100% load. It is always on 82c around 80%-85% fan speed. I saw some sites and forums that their gtx 1070s (any brand) most of them are around high 50c to low 70c on 100% load around just 40% fan speed. Is there something wrong with my gpu, or is this just how my model works?? temps - ambient around: 24c, idle: 48-51c, load(gaming): 82c (80-85% fan speed / still safe but still being cautious because too hot for this much fanspeed i think) help me please.

Hi, so I decided to play destiny 2 again because why not, it's been two or three months since last time. I have a GTX 1070, 12GB of 3000MHz ram (getting another 4GB tomorrow, don't worry) and a Ryzen 5 1600. Nothing is underclocked, undervolted, overheating, and I even tried some overclocking, temps were cool and all, but it didn't help. Anyways, I was playing, and I was getting below 60fps, no matter the settings, in fact, I got higher framerates at max settings than low settings. Does anyone have an idea of what could be the issue? The system is 100% stable too.

So, I think my GTX 1070 is overheating. It likes to sit around 95 degrees and that's just sitting at the home screen. When I play VR chat on desktop mode it likes to stick to about 100-105, When I play Automation it got to around 150 and I set msi afterburner to displa y it in Fahrenheit

My current GPU is a GTX 1070 and it's really great, apart from one thing, noise. I've messed around with auto curves, custom curves and fixed curves in afterburner and ASUS gpu tweak but no matter what, under load the fans ramp up to the point where it disrupts audio in games. My current curve usually keeps it at a max of around 83 degrees celsius, which is fine but the noise is really bothering me. Any ideas?

support Alienware gpu underutilized, help!
Cybergenik posted a topic in Laptops and Pre-Built Systems
Hi everyone, I started noticing recently that whenever I played games I was getting significantly lower fps that I used to. Before: Overwatch- 220-240 fps, low settings League of Legends- 250-260 fps, low-medium settings WoW- 150 fps, medium high settings After: Overwatch- 135-155 fps, low settings League of Legends- 120-145 fps, low-medium settings WoW- 90 fps, medium high settings I opened task manager while running the games and realized that my gpu was significantly under performing, before running at about 85-100% on most games, now it only ran at 15% while playing OW, 12% in LoL, and 13% in WoW... But my cpu that once ran at about 35-50% on most games, is now maxed out at 100%. I think for some reason my games are running directly off my integrated graphics in my Alienware laptop. I've tried going into the Nvidia control panel, changed all the settings to use my gpu, I also checked that my laptop is optimized for performance not battery. Still nothing and the only thing I could find online was to re-install Windows. Please help me!, Here are the specs of the machine: Alienware 17 R4 Microsoft Windows 10 Home i7-7700HQ @ 2.8ghz base GTX 1070 (Driver version 430.64) 32gb RAM- 4 replies

Hi Forum! I have done quite a bit of searching, but no one seems to have this problem, or even a similar problem. Going to do my best not to ramble. Specs: I built this computer almost two years ago now with; I7 7700K running base clock EVGA GTX 1070 Black Edition @ 110% power limit Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR4 3000Mhz ram Msi Z270 Gaming pro motherboard 256gb intel 600p nvme m.2 drive SF450 Corsair PSU 80+ Gold Problem: I am getting low and inconsistent frame rates out of my GTX 1070 in games. I will use Rocket League (RL) for this example.I usually run RL upwards of 75fps. I have it capped because my monitor runs at 75hz. Sometimes, and more often more recently, the game will load and I will average a value under that. Usually 30 fps. I have discovered that is I alt+tab and then Tab back into the game the number will change. Sometimes it will 'fix' itself and run higher than 75, other times it will change to another value, like an average of 50 or 20 fps. It does similar thing for a few other games I play and I can't seem to work out the cause. It has been running beautifully until recently, wasn't happening 3 weeks ago. What I have attempted. Removed and re-installed the latest driver from Nvidia (using Geforce experience and without). Uninstalled the Graphics card and re-installed it. Re-seated the graphics card and double checked power connectors. Changed power limit back to 100%. (Lowers the frame rate anyway..) I also have let MSI Afterburner run in the background of a game to check for anomalies (I couldn't see any, cpu, gpu usage and temps look fine, screenshot below). Next steps My next area of attack is running in safe mode disabling all but essential programs and the game and see if there is a difference, if there is then working my way through by cutting the list in half each time till something happens. Theory: While 450W PSU is low for this config, yes, but it is theoretically fine. I don't have much headroom, but I have had no troubles before. This is my main video editing rig and it (usually) powers through games and renders fine. This performance issue also hasn't happened in the almost 2 years I have been running this rig, only in the last 3-2 weeks. My theory is the PSU is dying and as usual. The graphics card is the main symptom. Thoughts or suggestions? Now a recent change I made to the system was enabling G-sync compatible with my 38" acer predator Ultrawide monitor. The issue began happening soon after I turned it off because I was getting black screens for 2-5 seconds at a time during games when it was on. This is all the information I have collected and think is necessary to put in to this post. Thanks for the help in advance forum! You guys are great.

Will a 420mm Thick Radiator Cool This?

Which GTX 1070's have silent mode that turns off the fans when the GPU is within a certain temperature ? I was looking at some 1070 GPUs and most of them don't have a silent mode like most 1060's and their fans run permanently which is a thing I dont quite like.

Hi! I have a Asus GTX 1070 strix, I wasn't looking for a new card but I gota reeeealy good deal for a GTX 1070ti. (A so good deal that I would earn money money if I sold it). So now I have to gpus, I can only use one of them other then when I'm rendering. I have a friend who has a Asus OC GTX 1070. My question is: Should I exchange my 1070ti with his 1070 so I can run sli? Then we both get an upgrade? Any thoughts on what i should do?

I'm pairing my i7-980X with 1070!!

So i bought this graphic card a week ago, it was slightly used but it's just like new (condition & performance wise both) and before buying it, i checked the card and everything was working excellent except the two leds on the top of the graphic card, the seller told me that it's manufacturing fault and isn't a big issue. it's been a week the card is working flawlessly but i was just wondering that could these leds damage other parts of the gpu or it's just normal? i'm a bit afraid because it's bothering me that it would affect my gpu's performance or anything. i can't RMA it. has anyone used or still using any gpu with led problem? has it got any other problems caused by these dead leds?
