Hi, Im currently looking to build a system (in the UK) for a total of £550 and have come to the conclusion that buying a used GPU will, most likely, provide the best performance in this budget. The current parts list is as follows, Note : I have a Samsung 860 evo 500gb already PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU AMD Ryzen 5 3600 3.6 GHz 6-Core Processor £145.98 @ Aria PC Motherboard MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard £98.99 @ Amazon UK Memory Crucial Ballistix RGB 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory £89.99 @ Amazon UK Storage Seagate BarraCuda 1 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive £34.00 @ Amazon UK Case Phanteks P300 ATX Mid Tower Case £50.99 @ AWD-IT Power Supply EVGA GD (2019) 500 W 80+ Gold Certified ATX Power Supply £55.47 @ Scan.co.uk Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total £475.42 Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-02-26 02:10 GMT+0000 The current used market on ebay (would prefer to use ebay due to buyer protection) has EVGA GTX 1070s for roughly £100 - £125. Is it worth the money considering it is a used card / older architecture? Any recommendations are welcome Thanks, Lex

I need help. I recently bought a GTX 1070 but have only had problems since. It started with my screen flashing black for about 1 or 2 seconds at a time. I went into the Nvidia control panel and adjusted the power management setting to prefer maximum performance and the flickering went away but now I am faced with another problem. The GPU seems to run extremely hot with maximum performance mode enabled, it sits at around 70 Degrees Celcius at idle! What can I do to prevent screen flickering but also prevent my GPU from becoming my new furnace? I have the MSI GTX 1070 FE (Samsung ram) , MSI MAG Z390 Tomahawk motherboard, Intel Core i3 8100, Crucial 8gb ram at 2400, Cooler master MWE 550W power supply, Sandisk 240Gb SSD.

Hey guys, So I have a gtx 1070 graphics card, and use it to play fortnite. In games, when I land at any of the big landing areas my fps drops to an average of about 100-120, and even drops down to 80 or 90 at times. I have gone on youtube to compare my fps with that of other 1070s with slightly better CPUs, and it seems like my fps is much lower than what they are a ble to achieve. I am stumped as to why, because I play on all low settings at 1080p, so I should not be having such low fps drops with this gpu. I have also monitored my pc when gaming with msi Afterburner, and my gpu usage is about 30-40%, cpu usage is 60-70%, gpu temp is around 52, and the cpu temp is around 60. These are my pc's specs: Nvidia Geforce GTX 1070, i7 6700, ASUSTek Computer H170 PRO, Two G.Skill F4-240015-16GVR DDR4 RAM sticks, Windows 10 64-bit version 1909, 600W PSU Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

So I've been looking at the 1660 super for a while, and on Newegg they are having a sale on their GTX 1660 Ti at the moment. The card is priced the exact same as a 1660 super right now, so I'm wondering if I should buy it or not. I have also been looking at a used 1070 (though the 1660 ti would be about on par and would be new anyway. But the real question is whether I should buy the 1660 ti or wait until the RX 5600XT comes out. thanks

I just bought this (new to me) evga gtx 1070 8gb sc and I didn’t have the right power supply so I couldn’t use it but I opened it up and saw almost water damage looking print around parts of the gpu but it feels smooth and a bit sticky at the same time. I tested it before purchasing it but I’m wondering if it’s fine or if there’s something wrong with it

I am upgrading from a 1080p 75 Hz monitor to a 1440p 144 hz monitor. I mainly play PUBG, COD, Battlefield , Assassin's Creed and any other game in between. Can I play these games at a 100+ fps on medium to high settings on a Zotac GTX 1070 Ti Amp Exterme.

I know nothing about bios flashing on graphics cards so I wanted to know if I can flash a new bios on my card (the one in description) to get the zero rpm feature I had in my older card and I really miss. I love to have my pc completely silent when doing simple tasks. If there is a way to do it, there is a suggested bios to flash on my specific model ?

Hey Everyone, This is my first post so I apologize if I'm missing something crucial but I'm going to do my best here. I have a rig I made back in late 2016 that I'm looking for advice on what to upgrade. Here's the partlist as it exists today: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price CPU Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5 GHz Quad-Core Processor $209.99 @ Amazon CPU Cooler Corsair H100i v2 70.69 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard $325.99 @ Amazon Memory Kingston HyperX Fury Black 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Memory Mushkin Essentials 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-2133 Memory Storage Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage Intel 545s 256 GB 2.5" Solid State Drive $67.99 @ Newegg Storage Western Digital Blue 1 TB 3.5" 5400RPM Internal Hard Drive $46.66 @ Monoprice Video Card MSI GeForce GTX 1070 8 GB Video Card Case Phanteks Enthoo Pro M TG ATX Mid Tower Case $88.99 @ Amazon Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA G1+ 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply $108.69 @ SuperBiiz Monitor Acer XF270HU 27.0" 2560x1440 144 Hz Monitor $491.00 @ Amazon Prices include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts Total $1339.31 Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-12-12 03:13 EST-0500 (The monitor isnt quite right on PCPartPicker. Here's a link to what I believe to be the exact model.) I use my rig mostly for gaming right now and while it can handle most things really well, I've found it's starting to stutter on particularly crowded Total War games. This in addition to me wanting to just keep upgrading means that I'd like to find an avenue of improvement (ideally without completely starting from scratch) ?. I'm not very familiar with overclocking so I'm looking into that option as well to keep the jitters at bay. That being said, I'd still like to know what the obvious route for a "next upgrade" would be, even after I reach the point overclocking no longer satiates my thirst for computational excellency!!! I was looking into either upgrading the CPU (probably Ryzen, knowing full well this would take at least a new motherboard), or perhaps adding another GPU via SLI. The issue with the GPU is that I would think it would make the CPU a bottleneck. But what do you think? Is there a clear deficiency I can upgrade? Or am i better off just saving my money and creating a whole new machine a while down the road? Thanks for any feedback!

Hey guys, I recently got an gtx 1070 from a friend and so far it worked pretty fine. Every game I play is stable and I do not have any issues whatsoever EXCEPT for 2 games: MHW and AC:Odyssey. I get weird artefacts, or black textures popping up, or a kind of flashing textures and I don´t now why. So far I have noticed that these problems do not appear in AC as long as I am below 3gb of VRAM usage in the graphic settings tab. Maybe some of you guys have an idea what it could be? And yes I reinstalled my graphic drivers and I also reinstalled the games already. Hello everyone. I'm about to get a Gigabyte GTX 1070 Extreme Gaming (gifted from a partent which doesn't use it anymore), and given the recent release of Red Deaad Redemption 2 (a game which is proving to be extremely heavy and unoptimized) I'd really like to overlock the GPU. In the past I used to follow this guide by JayzTwoCents: I can still follow this guide, but given how much time has passed I was wondering if there are some updated methods, maybe with some other software or anything like that. I don't wanna beat any record, I want a decent overclock, but stability is my main aim. I'd also like to know if there are some tricks involved, like enabling some kind of turbo mode. My case has decent areation, so I'd like to get as much perfrormance as possible. Here's the specific GPU: https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Graphics-Card/GV-N1070XTREME-8GD-rev-20#kf Here's my PC specifications. Intel i7 4790K 4GHz (stock) MSI Z97 Gaming 5 32 GB Ram DDR3 2133 MHz Windows 10 Pro 64 bits Samsung 850 Pro SSD I have the valley, timespy and furmark benchmark installed. Thank you so much!

Hi there! I'm thinking about to go with a new display to do a dual display setup. Now I have a cheap BenQ VA monitor (24' 60hz) and i'm considering to buy a the new one 1440p 144hz. The problem is that i have a Ryzen 1600 oced and a gtx 1070, and i don't know if i will be able to handle 1440p... I mainly play csgo so probably with that I don't have issues but i don't know how can i run more demanding games. Probably next year I will be upgrading my rig so I don't see a reason to don't go with a 1440. These are the ones that i've looked so far: 27" Samsung C27JG56 VA 144hz 1440p 27" MSI Optix MAG272QR 27" Samsung C27HG70 (More pricy but looks better that the other one) I hope u can give me an advice cause i'm little newbie with displays Thx in advance

Hi Guys, I'm currently running a 3600 and 1070 with EKWB Fluid gaming line up of parts (GPU + 360 Rad Top Exhaust + CPU + 240 Rad Side intake; loop is in that order) My GPU temps are fine, however my cpu temps seem abit high (idle 41-54), stress test 75 - 80 degrees (depending on work load) Typically (60 -70 ish under gaming loads etc I've repasted several times and changed washers (cause the previous ones might be a bit thicker than the manual specified) and while temps have come down abit, I'm still perplexed if these are the kind of cpu temperatures i should be expecting. I am living in a tropical climate where ambient is about 30-32 degrees typically. Was wondering if this is caused by low flow rate due to the pump (still using the SPC) or if this really is all normal for this loop. Any insights/advice would be much appreciated.

Hello forum! From many of Linus' videos I was able to learn a lot before I built myself a new pc, but now I ran into an issue I can't find a solution for. The components are: MSI B450M Pro-VDH AMD Ryzen 5 1600X Gainward Phoenix GTX 1070 2x8 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX LP DDR4-3200 500GB Crucial P1 NVMe M.2 2280 500 watts be quiet! Pure Power 11 CPU and GPU are used parts, everything else is new. The point is, my mainboard doesn't seem to recognize the GPU. When starting the pc it gives a beeping sound, 1x long, 2x short and then nothing happens. The VGA LED also shines. As it is an AMI system, the sound suggests something is wrong with the GPU. The power cable is correctly plugged into the card's 8pin slot. Also my monitor doesn't get a signal, neither through HDMI nor through display port (GPU ports ofc). Still the graphics card's fans start spinning and the LEDs shine in different lights (red, blue, green - in this order in case it matters). I just found out the person I bought it from had also bought it as used about 3,5 months ago and there is no way to contact the original owner. Yet the person I bought it from says it worked on his rig, he just used another GPU then as he managed to get it repaired. Now I don't want to give up so soon, I'll probably get the chance to try the GPU in another system as well as a different GPU in my system in about 2-3 weeks. I am just wondering if someone has an idea of what the issue could be. I don't really want to sit here doing nothing as I highly doubt another part of the pc could be the problem. Also I read something about baking the card, sounds a bit shady though. Any tips or ideas are very welcome! Cheers Krieg

Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, but i have been following the YT channel for a while. I have a quick question about GPU's that I can't quite make a decision on. so I am currently running an MSI GTX 1070 on my main pc. I have around $500-$600 to upgrade the GPU and I had two potential ideas, that I wanted to do. first option: i can get the exact same 1070 I already have on amazon for around $550, then SLI them together, to almost double my existing performance. (16gb gram) second option: Buy two 1660ti, which would be an improvement over my current performance, and have hardware RTX, but ultimately be a slight downgrade compared to the 1070 build option (12gb gram) alternatively I was looking at the newer GPUs like a 2070 Super, but from the looks of it, for the $600ish price range, that doesn't compare to the performance with the other two options. does anyone else have ideas on how to get the best bang for my buck, or know which of these options is the better way to go?

Hi I am having problems with low fps (30-45) in World of Warcraft (settings on 7 out of 10), and I have no idea what the cause might be. I've updated to the latest drivers for my GPU, newest chipset driver and newest bios version. I am running a 3 monitor setup. I've also never touched overclocking, and I'd like to avoid it aswell. My setup: GPU: Palit Geforce GTX 1070 dual 8gb CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x RAM: Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 16GB. (2x8GB 2666MHz DDR4 CL16 SR x8 Unbuffered DIMM) Motherboard: Asus rog strix B450-F gaming, socket-am4 Hardrive: Samsung 970 evo PSU: Corsair RM650x I have another setup (i5 8600, gtx 1060, 2666mhz 16gb, RM650x psu) with 4 monitors, running with the same world of warcraft settings and getting 90-100 fps. Any idea what could cause the poor performance on my AMD setup? If you need more information, let me know. Best regards
