I come across this data http://www.chartist.co/charts/46186 and it is overclock for +251 MHz GPU clock +586 MHz Memory clock +20% Power gain I am wondering is it safe to overclock this much? Is it the risk worth taken for the 10% improvement? I can see the non-overclock is able to run Crysis III for 58 fps which is pretty much enough for me.

I took the plunge and I bought the first batch for my small form factor gaming PC. I was just planning on placing my current CPU, RAM, PSU etc into the SG13. That would work, except the only z97 Motherboard available would cost me $300. I, then, decided, that I would just place the best stuff that I could into that ol' SG13. The DANCASE 4 seemed like the ideal first choice, that thing looks amazing. The DANCASE 4 does not look $200 amazing. I figured the SG13 would suit my needs well enough, I just needed something that fit inside a bag and was not a problem moving around. Anyway, these are my current components and my link for the planned build. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Absolution256/saved/JhTwP6 I got the SG13 Case, 16GB DDR 4 RAM, a 2.5" 1 TB 7200RPM SATA 3 HDD, an H80i v2 and, naturally, a Noctua NF-F12. I shall also transplant the Samsung EVO 850 500GB SSD and my EVGA GTX 1070 FTW GPU. ETA 4 weeks, pending CableMod cables, an i7 6700k, and a Z170 Motherboard. I plan on posting pictures once stuff starts showing up.

OK guys so this is my dilemma, I have a MSI GTX 770 2GB GAMING, and the card is great, but I have been thinking of upgrading lately and I settled for a GTX 1070. I am skipping a generation as I want the card to last me for a couple of years. But this is a a problem i my country as the pricing on the GTX 1070 is so high, the cheapest one is Gigabyte Mini GTX 1070 ~ 500+ Euro, and the ASUS Strix the one i want goes up to even 550, which is just insane. I have the money, don't get me wrong, but it is like half of my paycheck just for the GPU, and I just cant force myself into giving so much money, I am thinking about it but just... argh. Buying on ebay is not an option for me as only few sellers are shipping or the shipping costs are like 50 Euro, and the customs is 20% so the price is more than I would pay here. The other option is to SLI my GTX 770 which i have a deal for 100 Euro used from a friend of mine, the same model MSI GTX 770 2GB GAMING, actually the both cards have been running in similar setups for same time, and it has not been worn out. And I am sure I can sell this GPU in a year for the same money, 100 Euro is still cheap for this GPU where I live. So the question finally, would you guys go for the SLI or save up for the new GPU maybe the price goes down, (but that is highly unlikely)?

Hello guys, I already have the EVGA 500W (The white model). Just want to know if it will be ok to run, and maybe overclock a GTX 1070 FTW with it. To help: I use a I5 6500.

I have been looking for a new graphics card and I have settled on the 1070. my only question is what are the differences between the super clocked and ftw (or if the super clocked and ftw editions are just a scam and I should go for the less expensive standard 1070s) I am not worrying to much about overclocking, I just want something that looks decent and can run gta 5 at 1080p max settings at above 60 fps.

So as of right now my pc consists of a GTX 960, an fx8350, and 16gb of ram. Im looking to upgrade my graphics card to a gtx 1070 so that I can buy an HTC Vive, but the problem is the fx8350 would bottleneck the 1070 like crazy. So to upgrade I would need a new motherboard, a new processor, and of course the 1070. So I see my options like this 1.Build a completely new pc 2. Just deal with the bottleneck or 3. Upgrade what I need to upgrade but do no build another pc. Hopefully some people that know some more about these sort of things can help me out

hello all, I have been doing a bit of research and have my upgrade list all planed out. the only thing that i am not sure about is the graphics card. I know I want it to be a 1070 but I was wondering which one; aftermarket, ftw, superclocked etc. the ftw and superclocked are not white and there for will not go along with my planed build very well, but is the increase performance worth the extra cost and slight ugliness? If a standard/aftermarket 1070 is the best way to go, then what are some nice white 1070s. I have found a few but they don't really appeal to me. the case I want is the white nzxt s340 along with the z97s krait edition; so it is ok if the gpu has some black on it. I don't know how to paint a gpu but I am always willing to learn new things (as long as there isn't a big risk of breaking the brand new $400+ gpu).

I want to upgrade my current cards which would be 2 Gtx 460's in sli. I wanted to know if I should grab a Gtx 1060 or a Gtx 1070. My Cpu and MB are also pretty old too, the Cpu is a core i7 950 in a rampage gene ii.

so i just built a new computer and iv played planetside 2 and mw3 on it (amongst other games those are the more gpu intensive compared to other games i am playing) but in intensive battle situations and when moving around quickly my frames quickly drop below 60fps and make it very hard to play well im not very tech savy but i think the gpu i have (shown below) should definitely be able to handle 60 fps for these games easily then again it might not be the gpu it might be the internet connections but i did use fraps to check my fps and it showed under 60 fps almost all the time so if you could please help with optimizations tips or tell me its a bad rig or anything else please do so ill leave the specs below -cpu: intel i7-4790k - gpu: msi gtx 1070 gaming x -motherboard: msi z97 gaming 5 atx lga 1150 -ram: kingstone savage 16GB (2x 8) ddr3-1866 -SSHD: seagate, ST2000DX001, 2TB, 64MB cache, sata 6GBs, rpm 7200 -wireless network adapter: asus pce-ac56, PCI express -OS: windows 10 -monitor: viewsonic VX2370Smh-LED any other details can be found hear: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/NQHJyf

Hi, I was wondering which GPU i should get. They both look good and are close enough in performance. I have an msi Z170A Gaming M5 motherboard and Intel i5 6600k Skylake processor and I don't know if it would be better to get the msi card because of the mobo. Thanks

g'day i'm trying to find a good gtx 1070 but unsure which one to get, i defined it down to 2 and wanted to see which is better for the money. What 1070 do you think is the best? thx

Hi, I've been watching a lot of the youtube content and thought I might as well join the forum. So here is my first post and it's an urging question at that either! So I've recently upgraded my MSI GTX 770 2GB to a MSI GTX 1070 8GB graphics card. That was one week ago and since then I have compared framerates I get with framerates people get on test benches where every possible bottleneck is taken care of. So from my understanding I should be getting a couple frames less than in the tests, but for example in Crysis I get about 35ish. I begun to wonder if it is my CPU and/or Memory? Because I got it relatively cheap back then, I run a Xeon E3 1275 V2 @ 3.5 GHz and 32 GB DDR 3 Memory which runs according to CPU-Z @ 798Mhz. The mainboard is an AsRock H77 Pro4/MVP. Probably the worst component in the build. I have actually been thinking about upgrading to a new board along with a Skylake CPU, specifically a Core i7 6700K and 16 GB of DDR4 Memory, since I don't really need the 32 GB, I think I barely ever even touched 16. Though I'm really wondering if it's worth it, I do stream from time to time and put some videos together here and there, but nothing too crazy. I have connected my computer to the living room and use it as a media station as well, I also play games there, so that means my aim with gaming is 1080p@60fps. I actually thought my current system was capable of that, but as it turns out: No. If I choose the recommended settings in nvidias GeForce Experience, I don't get a smooth 60fps in most games I play: FC4, Crysis3, Wither3, AssassinsCreed IV... I have to dial down quite a bit in the settings. In Cinebench I get around 600points and the PhysiX score in 3d Mark was quite underwhelming as well. So in all, would I benefit from upgrading to a Skylake CPU and DDR4 memory? All in all I think my server chip is bottlenecking the system. And I don't even do any server related stuff. Thank you for any tips!

Hello I am about to get a new GTX 1070 (upgrading from 2x gtx770) and I would like to know if the turbo version would be ok or I pay the extra cash for the strix My Case is a cooler master HAF 932 advanced (no side window i don't like side windows) and I have a decent amount of coolers inside but here (mexico) the turbo is amost 200USD cheaper than the strix. I almost never overclock the GPU so I don't have that in mind neither. I can see a little slower clock speeds in the turbo. But, those 200usd worth it?

Recently got a 4K monitor and have been trying to game at the native 4K, but my system is slacking in the graphics card department. I've been thinking about get a GTX 1080, but with the prices of Graphics cards in the UK being a lot more expensive due to exchange rates right now, I was wandering if I should save some money and get a GTX 1070 instead. I'm purely just looking at what the performance will be running at 4K resolutions and whether it is worth going for the GTX 1080, if the GTX 1070 is still able to keep up for cheaper. Thanks in advance. P.S. My current GPU is an MSI R9 380 4GB, which is why i need to upgrade.

I am going to buy a new graphics card and I'm settled on either the 1070 or 1080 ROG Strix. I don't really have a budget, but I definitely want to save money if I can. I know the 1080 is much more powerful and 4k capable bla bla bla, but I cant decide if its worth the extra $350. My PC is a 6700k, Asus Maximus viii hero, Corsair h100i, and an AX860i power supply. Also, I plan to run a 165hz 2k monitor and use my tv and laptop as my secondary displays. No VR by the way. Also, I do YouTube and need to be able to record at 1080p or 1440p in 60fps. Obviously all of this is going to require more than a Russet potato, but I don't want to completely overkill it and be broke. Thanks:D

idek why all the builds with the gtx 1070 are all $1000+ but in all seriousness you can build a badass system for like $790 with the gtx 1070 thats also mitx and if you make it matx it might even be cheaper... heres the build: -i5 6400 - $180 might bottleneck a little but not too severely like 5 to 10 fps only -Asrock H110M itx/ac - $70 i know its a little on the cheaper side but atleast it has ac wifi and is really not that bad -ballistix sport lt 8gb ddr4 2400 - $32 8gb is enough stop whining and dont worry the motherboard will automatically downclock it to 2133 -WD blue 7200rpm 1tb hdd - $50 we are on a budget extra storage will increase price -Asus turbo gtx 1070 - $380 the price is currently jacked up but soon it will be normal -EVGA 500 W1 - $35 you dont need a 1500w power supply -silverstone sg13b - $40 its a nice tiny little case total: $787 wooow its like people on youtube who put these builds together are really trying to make the 1070 out of reach from the 700 to 900 dollar gaming pc

How do I make my GTX 1070 run at max clock speed all the time?
-
Hello! I'm thinking about upgrading my PC right now. I earned enough money to purchase a new graphic card and I picked a GTX 1070 as a new one. Recently I heard about something called "bottleneck". I must say I got very nervous about it. I heard that i5 processors are no longer the sweet spot for gaming and they are capable of slowing down the GPU. Here's my actual setup: Intel i5-3570 (without K!!!) with GTX 660 As you can see I can't OC my CPU. (Do not ask why I don't have -K processor). And here is my question: What about 1070 performance in this situation? I know it will "bottleneck" at some point but will it be very noticeable? All I care about is 1080p 60Hz gameplay with constant FPS. I do not care about maxing the performance of my rig, just pleasant and safe gameplay experience. I will upgrade my CPU anyway in next year. All I want to know is will this be a good idea to buy 1070 and will it be working good for this year?

Hey, I'll be building my first gaming rig soon and I want it to be silent. So what are the most silent 1060's / 1070's? I will mostley be gaming at 1080p until i get a better monitor. For any extra info about the pc just ask. Thanks already -Kris

Hello! I am planning on getting a gtx 1070 founder's edition since i don't have much space for much airflow in my case, i needed a blower style cooler. Anyways, i was wondering, the lowest price i found was for the msi version ($429.99). However, I don't really plan on getting an msi graphics card since i saw multiple newegg reviews mentioning ignoring of customers' emails and refusing to mention reasons for anything. I looked it up on the internet and the company with the best customer service is asus (or so i heard). The asus one is only a $10 difference from the reference gtx 1070 on Nvidia's geoforce site. My brain logically told me that buying a card from Nvidia directly would ensure i can guarantee that they can properly fix any problems that happen to me in the long time since they're the ones who disigned the board in the first place. I just wanted to check, in your guys opinions, which company has the best customer support and repair service (and coverage for damage). Also, what experiences did you guys have with Nvidia's customer support and service. Last question, can you give me some tips for motherboards too (on the same terms, customer service and customer support).
