so i bought a EVGA GTX 1070 FTW ACX 3.0 it has two 8-pin connettors can i just connect 1 or will be a problem
-
I was using an external PSU to power my GTX 1070 FTW on a non standard HP office desktop. It was working for about 3 months and suddenly the GPU fans start twitching periodically without a video signal on any of the monitors. However the PC boots into windows and I was able to see video through the integrated graphics. The GPU is not listed in device manager as well. The way I connected the PSU is using the pcie 6+2 pin and the green & black wires on the 24pin of the external PSU are shorted intentionally to jump start it. I can confirm that the PCIE slot itself is working as I have another GPU GTX 1650 and it works. is it possible that the PSU is the issue here or the GPU? it casually works for a few seconds when left turned off for several hours.

Okay so here are the specs: Tomahawk b450 (not Max) Ryzen 7 2700x Gtx 1070 hybrid (from EVGA with the aio) Anker 777 thunderbolt 4 dock (for laptops - connect peripherals, ethernet, monitors, and power) A likely junk USB 4 extension cable 550W 80+ gold PSU Troubleshooting steps tried: Reset CMOS Switched PSU Switched power cables Switched display cables Wha happened: ADHD-no-impulse-control plugged the dock into the usb-c port of the mobo using a thunderbolt 4 cable and the aforementioned extension cable wondering if the peripherals and Ethernet would passthrough. It did! I thought great, nice easy way to use all my nonsense for my laptop for on my gaming rig without an additional USB switch and network switch. Then I unplugged and cable managed for a thousand year. Replugged everything and now doesn't POST. Tried clearing cmos. Nothing. Getting a VGA error led on the mobo. I've got a cheapo gpu coming in the mail so I can test whether it's the GPU or the mobo (maybe CPU ). My question is: does anyone with the technical know-how know...how what I did could break everything? Did the power passthrough from the dock make it's way and fry the GPU? Could it have fried the mobo I/O which then kicks up a VGA led error? Power works, all fans spin, tried the troubleshooting steps above. So yeah, help!

Hello guys ! This post is following this one resolved : So am playing GTA V actually to tweak some configuration and see the evolution of my perfs (All i'm witing here, is in the order of my tweaks, and benchs pictures is respectively the order of my comment) i put GTA in Full Low Quality, still in 2K, and my first picture attached show the perfs. As you can see i've got like 1500MHz used, with a lil bit more than 0.800V in average for 35% usage generally. I just drop it like thius, in 3620x2036 DSR, nothing changes in terms of FPS (may be around 2 FPS less but it's almost like an error margin) Then i will just put maximum quality in the ones making me restart the game (I forgot i was in DST 3620x2036, so i changed for 2K, i gained 6Fps, but nothing changes in terme of perfs), : - Textures - Shaders - Particles - Grass This time, i have just a lil bit lower FPS, but nothing awful ahah, and the power consumption of my card is low, and the frequency as before is really high (voltage too) Now, i'm gonna tweak the settings to maximum of : - Shadow - Reflection - MSAA Reflection - Water Quality So i have some loss FPS, exactly the same, as if i putted the DSR Resolution, and i have a bit lowerage Frequency, for a higher Watt usage I will now put to the maximum the FXAA and see that i have like 4 FPS loss, and again lose frequency dropping from 1544 to 1430MHz, and voltage from beyond 800mV to 780mV If i put MSAA + TXAA, i'm now in a range of 1266MHz and 1316MHz generally and a voltage of 731mV for around 74 and 82W of usage Then i will use the settings i didn't upgraded and stop MSAA + TXAA + FXAA : - Post FX + Motion Blur Strenght And i'm in a range of 1367MHz up to 1481MHz, and a voltage between 762mV to 800mV If i put together MSAA + TXAA + FXAA : Average to 56 Fps, in a range of 1291MHz, 80W, and 731mV Now i disable again MSAA TXAA and FXAA, then up to the maximum quality : - Soft Shadow Nvidia PCSS - Anisotropic Filtering - Ambient Occlusion - Tessellation And my average MHz is 1315MHz, with 750mV, at 80W Now finally i will put max MSAA TXAA and FXAA and see final frequency, wattage, voltage : And i'm at the same results than before So, putting MSAA TXAA and FXAA downvolt and down frequency Putting Soft Shadow, anisotropic etc.. Downvolt and down frequency too But Putting these two together doesn't double lower the Volt and Frequency, this is absolutely physically not logical, if i can't catch and rise a weight of 100Kg, but i can do it with 50Kg, if i put 50Kg + 50Kg, i should not have the strenght to rise it, cause it is accumulation of weight making 100Kg... The last bench screen is with maximum advanced settings adding more quality to shadow, plus more quality in the range of view with shadows, so it should destroy performances, but not really that much... PS: i didn't do any tweak with In Game Scaling Resolution. EDIT : i add the bar of VRAM Used In Game with full maximum Settings, at 2K with Scaling Resolution.

I have a pc with a i7–7700k processor, a gtx 1070 and 16 GBs of RAM. I had it for 5–6 years and used it during that time. If I would sell it on ebay or something, for how much could i put it on there?

I bought a rtx 3070, replaced my gtx 1070. My cpu is an i7 9800x. I ran a bunch of benchmarks to compare. 3dmark shows that the rtx 3070 is more than twice as good which got me very excited. The Heaven benchmark also showed expected results, though a bit lower than the average. I then undervolted my 3070 a bit, I chose 950 and 1920mhz. Ran the heaven benchmark again and actually got a higher score, higher average fps and much lower temps. So again I was really excited. But then I tried the Horizon Zero Dawn build-in benchmark. In the images you can see my gtx 1070 benchmark on original preset, rtx 3070 original preset and rtx 3070 ultimate preset. Apparently I only gained about 20fps on the same quality settings. There aren't a lot of benchmarks to find on youtube with these presets but what I do find shows much higher fps consistently, above 140fps in most cases. So... what's going on? Is my cpu too weak?

I have been using an overclocked GTX 1070 for the last years and never had any display issues like this one. I first ran some old monitor, then a 4k (which I still use and still works without artifacts). Recently I decided to get a 144Hz, I got the ASUS VG32V. First it worked perfectly, but now when booting it shows about 90% of the time horizontal lines / artifacts at the bottom of the screen (sometimes starts fading away after 5min, sometimes not). I attached an image showing my view (though it's by someone else who posted about this kind of issue). He uses a different monitor but same GPU and claims to have fixed it by lowering the refresh rate. The one I use is the automatic one and there's no other 144Hz available either in Windows Settings or NVIDIA Display Control settings (and I don't buy a 144Hz to use it as 120Hz...). If I restart the monitor a couple of times I am able to get a clean image. I reset the monitor, got the newest drivers for GPU and monitor and disabled the overclocking. My guess would be that the monitor is at fault, though I'm open to other suggestions. And if it's the monitor, how would you try to fix it? (If possible rather fix than RMA) Thanks already in advance :) Specs: Ryzen 5 5600X, MSI B550i, MSI GTX 1070, ASUS VG32V, Windows 11 (I know ... but required for my job)

Someone uses the i7 9700 processor with the GTX 1070? I would like to upgrade to this processor because my i5 8400 bottlenecks my GTX 1070. I would like to ask if you get 100% Gpu usage on AAA games. (You can send screenshots if you like) Thanks in advance

Hello i have a problem and i think my gaming build is bottlenecking. I have upgraded from my MSI Aero GTX 1060 6GB to a HP founders edition GTX 1070 8GB and i love the gpu so far but there is a problem. The gpu usage is not always 100% (see screenshots) only in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 when i am above 2k feet. On other AAA games i still dont get 100% gpu usage. I uninstalled the old drivers + the new drivers for the GTX 1070 but didnt helped then i did a complete reset from Windows 11 and this didnt helped. But i hope you guys can help me here, thanks in advance! if you want more games with test please comment down!. sry for my english Pc Specs Windows 11 Build 22000.556 GTX 1070 8GB HP Founders Edition (Driver Update Version 511.79) No Overclock Intel Core i5 8400 2.80GHz No Overclock Mainboard MSI H310M PRO-D Intel stock cooler SSD Intenso 512GB HDD 2TB Seagate 16GB RAM 2400Mhz (XMP is active)

I have an ASUS VG27AQL1A Zaku and the problem is, my GeForce GTX 1070 is too old to 'support' GSync compatible monitors. The 'support' is italic and bold is because, it works, however, I got no display on POST until the log screen, means I can't see the UEFI and my motherboard add-on speaker will sound off error that there's no display detected. Taking a look at my local retail price lists, I'm looking at the Gigabyte's GeForce RTX 3070 Ti Vision, which is $1.45-1.5K (after reversing, it's about nearly US$1.1K), not sure if 3080 Vision might be in stock, I need the slight VRAM bump due to some hobby work. I think a month or so, the 3070 series was $500 more, and the newly released 3050 was $800, it's now hovering $550-700. Also my 1070 is the Founders Edition, I would like to retire it ASAP.

Hi everyone! this is my first post here in the forum. i own a 5 year old Acer Predator 15 G9-593, I have plans to upgrade my SSD, Hard Drive, and RAM because I'm having troubles with the speed and it keeps crashing while editing in premiere pro. My highest "disk fragment" status for the HDD is 17% My work revolves around daily content creation and looooooooooots of chrome tabs, and it's usually open around 18-20 hours per day. I was wondering if you guys can help me find specific items that I could buy that wont cause a bottleneck entirely . My priority is HDD - > SSD - > RAM Specs -> Dream Upgrade 1. HDD - 1TB 5400rpm: TOSHIBA MQ01ABD100 I was wondering if I could replace it with a WD Blue or Samsung SATA HDD or anything that could give me more RPM/speed. Has to be 1TB or 2TB 2. SSD - 256GB SAMSUNG MZNLN256HMHQ - 00000: I want to upgrade it to a 1tb SSD idk what to choose between SATA m.2 or NVME m.2 3. RAM: 16gb DDR4: I want to upgarde it to 32 or 64gb but I'm kinda confused with the ram speeds part GPU: GTX 1070 CPU: I7 - 6700 HQ Battery Life: 0% but I might replace the battery once I get extra budget

Hi so I have been hunting for a good deal on a gpu and I seem to have found one. The only issue is that the card seems to have been a mining card and the seller in the description states "full temperature"... whatever that means... I'm a little hesitant in taking the offer, so some feedback and suggestions would be greatly appreciated Also I would like to know whether or not 1070 is going to be sufficient for a few years or will I have to upgrade in like a couple of years? the rest of my system is: asus tuf z490 I5-10400 2*8gb 3000mhz g-skill aegis Samsung evo 970 250gb 650w cooler master power supply

Hi, I put a 2nd GTX 1070 in my PC today to play with it in SLI. However, it is neither recognised (device manager) nor does it receive updates. I had it in another PC before and it worked perfectly. What could be the reason for this and what can I do about it? Best regards Ratatte

So about 2 years ago or so, I bought a gtx 1070 from a guy on craigslist, who used the card to mine. He said he had it at 90% power to reduce stress on it. This is back when you could get a 1070 for $200. Anyway, ever since then, I feel like mine isn't getting the same results as other 1070s I see on YouTube, or from other friends and stuff who have them. I became more aware of this when my Dad, who also had a 1070 at the time, was playing at 1440p and was getting around 70 fps or something in a game that I can't remember. I looked at my fps at 1080p, and I was getting well under that, like low 60s high 50s.. Your first thought might be that my cpu is underpowered, it's not, I'm running a Ryzen 5 3600. and my Ram is plenty fast, G.Skill 16gb at 3600mhz. With all this said, could it be that the GPU is still running at %90 power like the guy had it set? If so, how would I see that? Any way to test it? (I'm welcome to any input or corrections for anything I have said.) Thank you in advance

Guys, hello hope you all are doing well. As for the shortage and ridiculous price on GPU, I am stuck on my GTX 1070 zotac one, therefore, I have decided to mount it on my PC vertically, and change Fans to RGB ones if possible. Could you please suggest vertical mounting option in my case? it's deepcool matrexx 55 mesh add-rgb 4f; As well as, in case of the Fan and Thermal paste change on GPU, I see its running preety hot, I have spare MX-4 thermal paste will this be good for it ? and for FANs I want to switch to RGB if its possible and what size they should be ?

Tell me if it makes sense to upgrade from a i7-6800K to the i5-11400F... I have a 6800K/GTX 1070 system, which I use for video editing and light gaming. While I see a big difference between their Cinebench scores, I would just transfer the 1070 over to a new system, for now...

I need help identifying burnt SMD Component (Transistor) with the Marking Code of 26H38 from Gigabyte GTX 1070 Windforce OC 8GB.. If possible, you can provide me any available schematics or replacement for the damaged SMD Component. Other notes: I've searched the SMD Component from a Russian site http://www.chip.tomsk.ru, but i can't find any specific marking code for (26***). meanwhile S-Manuals got me interested (http://www.s-manuals.com/smd/26), I was close, but still.... What is the component's size? SOT-23,SOT-323 or something else?.. Possible Identification: "26***"; 26*3**; or 26H; the H38 - might be a date code.

My GTX 1070 pins are worn, to even get the card to read and start I had to place the card at an angle, I noticed the card wasn't dead because it still worked at an angle, it did wonderfully but when it moved an inch it would crash, and because of sometimes it wouldn't load, I spent a lot of time trying to find the right spot for it to work where it would read but, it was just too much for me to handle so i went back to my 1050ti, please! is there a way to could fix the pins or like renew them, I really need the card and buying a new one for the price of a brand new pc would be a nightmare, any way to allow them to better connect to the mother board. any info helps, I am begging at this point.

Hey everyone! I've found myself in quite of a pickle about some TV stuff. Quick backstory: I'm considering getting a bigger tv (LG NanoCell 55NANO863NA, since this fits my budget), for the juicy 4k/120hz and I might get a PS5 later, but my main platform is pc (currently rocking a ZOTAC FE GTX 1070), and I've read some stuff about HDMI 2.1 and freesync. I know that the 1070 isn't 4k preferable, but for lighter games and newers ones with compromises should fare well (60fps). Could you guys (or gals) set me straight how to manage this? Thanks in advance!

Hello! Is my first post and i hope it will be ok. So I buyed few weeks ago a gpu 2nd hand. I did that because i don t had enought money and prices has exploded in the last few months. I don t know if it was used on mining but the guy told me he didn t. So i played Ark, but i saw that my temp are above 85 C in med- high in UHD and i was thinking that maybe i need to change thermal paste and pads but when i opened it looks like this . I posted in a group and people there told me that it can t be because of the heat, so my question is why it looks like this? It s a gtx 1070 kfa2 (1 fan). And another thing is that the radiator is kinda stuck there i tried to heat a little with my hair dryer but didint work. Thank you! p.s: Sorry for my grammar I haven't written in english in a few years.
