The RX 580 managed to beat the 1070 in GTA V when previously the 480 lagged behind the 1060! Why is this?
-
I'm using an x4 860k and an egg 750 ti. Even though its not the most powerful its still should be able to play the game. Right now I'm using default settings (low-med 2x anisotropic filter) and I'm getting 12 for but the boggle g thing is my cpu is of to 4.3Ghz and only running at 2.54Ghz at 60% and my gpu the core clock is 823 mhz mem is at 1315 and mem clock is 2700. Why are they so low? (Gpu went up as I took the picture then went back down)

Hi guys, I have the following scenario. (This has happened more than once) I´m playing GTA V, and after maybe 15-30 min. during nothing special (e.g. driving, cutscenes, walking, shooting...anything really) my PC just cuts and reboots. NO BSOD. My RGB lights stay on. It just zaps and reboots. I have already ordered a new PSU. So that would sort that. But I´m thinking that it´s something else... What do you guys think? Specs: Ryzen 1700X GTX 1060 6GB (Gigabyte) Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz at 2933MHz because Zen is a dick (has that one been resolved yet?) Superflower 650W PSU (from 2009) ASUS Prime Pro X370 Mobo 2x1TB HDD 1x640GB 2,5" HDD 1x 256GB NVMe SSD 4x RGB Strips plus NZXT HUB 3x beQuiet 120mm fans 2x Noctua NFF12 1x beQuiet 140mm fan G810 KB 1x USB Hub 1x 4k Monitor 1x FHD Monitor Is it the PSU? It might be...There is much stuff plugged in but some website said all that stuff needs 370W. So my 650W should be fine? Pleeeeeeease help me. Oh and the CPU nor the RAM or the GPU is overclocked...because I´m a pussy. Don´t judge.

First, I will address the more pressing matter: The daily BSODs. Currently facing daily BSODs with my new RX 480 (Transferred from an Nvidia GTX 750ti). Research has told me to fix registry keys, so I used CCleaner to fix 97 errors. When checking the duplicate files tab, I noticed that nearly every file in AMD/Packages/Drivers has a duplicate of itself, both created at the exact same time. Is this correct? If not, how should I go about fixing it? Uninstalling AMD and then deleting leftover files? I like the AMD Cleanup Utility on their website. Grand Theft Auto V Stuttering Not sure why this is happening, but attempting to run GTAV with Very High settings causes stuttering. It usually hovers around 80fps with dips to below 60fps. I haven't tried vsync yet, but if it dips below 60 it will be noticed regardless. Before tweaking the gpu, I noticed there were several small core clock drops on the monitoring graphs during gameplay. The card spun up to its max speed (around 1150), but would frequently drop clock, like it was throttling. However, the card never exceeded 50 degrees! Memory clock looked okay. I boosted the power limit to 125% and it helped slightly, but the stutter is still pretty bad. Check my specs for the rest of my system. Any ideas? I still need to test it after the BSOD mess is cleaned up and corrected. How can I make sure all of the Nvidia stuff is out? I have a feeling by fixing the driver issues the game will likely run more smoothly. Lots of testing to do. Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I'm thoroughly frustrated with this brand new card. Thanks so much!

Hello guys, Recently I installed GTA V, but after 20 minutes of gameplay my fps would drop from 60 to 20. Also, the game thinks I have 84TB of VRAM :D. Any idea how to fix it? PC specs: Cpu: i3-6100 3.7 GHz Gpu: Sapphire RX 460 2GB RAM: 1x8 Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 2133 MHz DDR4 Thanks in advance!

Hey guys Lifeguard here, my dad plays GTAV religiously on his Xbox one. He only plays on the online Multi-player and often has problems with connecting with other players, mostly only connecting with one or two players at one time. TL;DR: Trouble connecting to high populated lobbies on GTAV online Multi-player, need help/suggestions -We've called AT&T's uverse and asked them to open up the ports that Xbox live support suggests you port forward open. -We've tried to open his NAT type to Open but it reverts back to moderate for some reason -We've worked for months on this issue with nothing really improving his situation. Rockstar is obviously no help, so I came to you guys for any more suggestions. Yes, he's still a filthy console peasant, but I want to help him be able to connect with more players in lobbies. Any help would be appreciated, thanks guys! -Alifeguard

Ok so my friend upgraded his gpu from 960 to 1060 and tried to play GTA V with us and has like 10-20 fps on low settings (sometimes like 2 or 3 fps). And his CPU is i5 4460. Any ideas how to get fps higher.

Hi Guys, I downloaded every file for RAGEPluginHook and installed everything correctly. But if I start the .exe file NOTHING happens. Neither the game or the PluginHook starts. If I start the .exe outside the GTA5 folder everything starts. If I start the .exe as an administrater most of the times nothing happens but sometimes a window opens that you shouldn`t open the .exe usually not in administrator mode. Anti virus programs are disabled and so on.. What can I do?

So, first things first, I expierience horiffic crash-problems with GTA V on my 1080Ti SLI Watercooled PC. They started about 2 months ago and only got worse from then on. At the beginning it crashed if I tabbed out of the program while the main menu was loading. That got annoying quickly. Further down the road it crashed if I tabbed out regardless where I was or what I did in the game, so I changed a few settings. That fixed it for a week or so, but the same problems came back, just more intense. Now it ALSO crashes just randomly during loading screens. The thing is, I did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to the Game. It ran perfectly fine beforehand. I sorta have the feeling this could be tethered to the Smugglers Run update, but what do I know. Also, I already contacted the R* support, but they just Responded with a standart message saying I should reset my overcklocking, wich I did, but NOTHING happend. Here are my Specs (If someone needs them): CPU: i7 6800K GPU(s): 2x 1080Ti SLI Motherboard: Asus Rampage V Edition 10 RAM: 32GB of Corsair Vengance 2400 But I really don't thinks it's the PC since GTA ran perfectly fine 3 months ago. Sincerely, Nick

Hey guys, I am currently working on a Neural Network based project, and right now am using an old laptop for that. my laptop's gpu is not supported by tensorflow so i am thinking to build a pc. Its my first time with PC hardware so i don't have much idea on actual hardware but am a regular linustechtips viewer so have some theoretical knowledge of PC building For neural networks, GPU is the king. 95% work will be done by GPU, so I need a system with a decent GPU maybe 1050 or something more than that. Basically anything more than Compute Capability 3.0 will work for me but more the performance, better it is. I have attached the list of supported GPU's. RAM speed doesn't matter but amount of RAM matters maybe around 8GB . CPU doesnt matter at all. But I would like to have decent CPU to handle all daily tasks (and also some gaming ) The reason why I am asking about gaming is that, I am trying to build a neural network for self driving car and i am going to use GTA V as a simulator. so while training only GPU will be used but while testing network I will have to run an windowed instance of GTA V with my neural network, so it should be able to handle this load I am from India and my budget is around Rs.60,000 which is around $925 (US). So can you guys please suggest me about what hardware to choose? It would be really helpful for me. Thanks in advance.

I am trying to play GTA V on my updated pc. I use to have a GTX 1070 fx 6100 16 gb ddr3 windows 10 120 ssd for O.S. and a 1tb hdd for game installs I use to have no texture loading issue and 45 fps bc the fx 6100 bottleneck My upgrade was the cpu I now have GTX 1070 i5 3570 ( I know it still bottlenecks the gpu but it was a huge bump up for only 20$ after sold parts) 16 gb ddr3 windows 10 120 ssd for O.S. and a 1tb hdd for game installs I now get 60fps-80ish but my textures when driving quickly sometimes wont load have tried - setting priority to high, compatibility with windows 7, lowering settings, tried using a different drive, any suggestions on why im getting this now and now with that sad 6100 I had Drivers are uptodate even did a fresh driver install by deleting old then reinstalling them.

Soooo, I have a problem. When im running GTAV I get a bit more than 60FPS on Very High settings on a 3440x1440 Monitor powered by two 1080Ti's and and a 6800K. Previously (like 2 Weeks ago) I got around 80-100FPS, but now, as said only 60 but with terrible microstuttering. I haven't changed anything on my PC or in the GTAV settings and checked for Tempereature issues, but there aren't any since these Bad Boys are are strapped into a Custom Loop. Adding to that, all my other games run just fine! So I'd guess is an issue with GTA or the Drivers and hoping it ain't a GPU issue sice I dont wanna rip the whole Loop apart again. System Specs: CPU: Core i7 6800K (Watercooled) MoBo: Asus Rampage 5 Edition 10 RAM: 32 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance LPX (Watercooled, i know, it doesn't make any sense, but it looks cool) GPUs: 2x Founders Edition GTX 1080Ti's (Watercooled) I'd appreciate any anwers and apologize for any spelling or grammar mistakes since english isn't my nnative language.

Hey guys, so I've had the same system for almost 4 years now. i5-4670k @ 3.8Ghz (boost to 4) 16GB of ram, 600W PSU, 240GB SSD, 2TB HDD, GTX 960 4GB. Since i've started playing GTA V again in the past few months, I've noticed that the game performance a lot worse than it used to be, a year or so ago it ran perfectly on very high settings, now my CPU usage is pinned at 100% constantly while playing. My friend has a GTX 1080 and an i7-4790k which is pretty much the same as my CPU only with hyperthreading and a slightly faster clock speed, so he disabled HT and underclocked his CPU to 3.8 so it was the same as mine and we did the same tests on GTA V. His CPU ran at 90-100% while mine was still at 100%. With HT enabled, he runs at around 60%. Both were running at 1080p, his graphics settings were also higher than mine. Is my quad core i5 really not good enough for GTA V? Does GTA really need more than 4 cores to run optimally? Rockstar recommend a quad core i5-3470 @ 3.2GHz but i'm fairly certain my cpu is way better than that and is apparently not good enough. Has anyone got any suggestions as to whats going on? Is my system just performing abnormally or is it time to say goodbye to the i5? Also would be great to here from anyone else who has a similar CPU about their performance.

Not sure if anyone is following the Chiliad Mystery, but after the release of the Gunrunning DLC, there has been a pretty big discovery. https://www.reddit.com/r/chiliadmystery/comments/6i86zq/we_finally_found_the_alien_egg_damship_call_in/ As I said, not sure if people are following this, but it's pretty exciting news if you have! Background In GTA:SA there was a secret that allowed you to obtain a jet pack, when GTA:V was released people started hunting for its existence in GTA:V. Once GTA was released, there was a lot speculation about the mural found in the cable car building at the top. Since then, there have been a lot of theories some more mental than others, some that actually made a little sense. Since then, there have been discoveries regarding UFOs that appear at the top of Mt. Chiliad in the rain, at 3am. After around 3 years and thousands of posts, it seems that the latest update contains obfuscated code relating to a potential UFO crash scene, that's as far as they've managed to work out so far. The other big discovery as a result of the investigations have been the peyote's which also lead to the community finding the beast you have to fight. That's a VERY short version, it's hard to summarise all of the things they have found, as well as the theories they've come up with, but if you want to just veg out and read something, sort the subreddit my top and crack on.

I need help, My machine isnt new (about 2.5 years) and I played a lot of GTA V and was getting a pretty stable 50-60 fps. Then I stopped playing for a few months when school got rough. When I came back and booted the game it was totally unplayable (like maybe a frame every 5 seconds if I was lucky). No changes to my system and a fresh install of the game and still no improvement the menus are even unusable because its so slow. Is there any hope? Note: this is the only game this has happened in all my other games still run perfectly on high settings

So Im planning on upgrading my pc to have an intel i3 6100 skylake, Itll will be paired with a gtx 750 ti. So my question is that will it run modern games at decent frame rates like GTA V and Battlefield 1. Ive seen videos of i3 6100's with gtx 750 ti's playing games like battlefield 1 and gta v on max 40-60 fps, I just want a second opinion before upgrading. The resolution that im playing at is 1600x900 (900p)
