I hope someone else hasn't done this yet. Summary Reports of chip shortages impacting all manner of industries abound, it’s not just graphics cards that are hard to come by. Now comes news that megafoundry TSMC is prioritising production of chips for cars over other applications. What hope is there for us poor gamers ever getting our hands on a new GPU? According to CNBC, TSMC plans to prioritise new production capacity in favour of car makers. The move comes as pressure reportedly mounts at government level for TSMC to prioritise chips intended for cars. The global auto industry is currently suffering from significant production delays due to the shortage of chips, leading Germany’s Economy Minister Peter Altmaier writing to his Taiwanese counterpart requesting that TSMC, a key supplier of semiconductors for cars, focus on production for cars above all. Similar requests have reportedly been sent from the US, the European Union and Japan. Quotes My thoughts Well, I am personally not gonna be making any GPU purchases in the foreseeable future but don't panic, please don't. This also seems to not affect the current production capacity but future one's, so....... I'm not too worried. Just looking to get some thoughts on my GPU temps while running a 1080p FurMark stress test in a 22-27C ambient room. My GPU is the AORUS RTX 2070 Super, inside a Lian Li PC-O11 with 6 case fans for intake and another 3 fans for exhaust (CM ML360R AIO) up top. Is my fan curve a problem? Would appreciate any relevant input! I'm mainly concerned about the hot spot temps, which are significantly higher than the overall GPU temperature reading. Is this normal? If not, does it warrant a re-paste? It's been in use for about 2 years and 4 months.

Hi all, I recently bought a ASUS ROG STRIX GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU (due to games having a minimum requirement that my old Radeon HD 6950 no longer met). I set everything up but the minute I tried to boot the PC the GPUs lights all went red and the fans (on the GPU) stopped turning after about 3 seconds. I switched back to the Radeon GPU just to confirm there wasn't a problem with my slot or cables. I thought I had confirmed all my other HW (Motherboard, power supply) was compatible but was hoping someone with more knowledge might be able to help point me in the right direction to correct my issue. HW specs: power supply: CORSAIR HX Series HX750 motherboard: MSI P67A-G43 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 core: Intel Core i5-2500K ram: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) Thank you.

I have a stupid question. I installed an RX 580 8GB. And will soon buy a new mainbort with a new Ryzen. {Because my current mainboard only has one PCI express slot, and i running a ryzen 5 1600X} I just wonder if I can use my old GTX 1050, which I still have lying around here, to fire monitor 2 & 3. Because I suffer from extreme loss of performance from these monitors. These should only run Discord, Chrome and Something like that. Would it be possible? So that I finally can play properly again? PS: sry for my bad Englisch, im from Germany and and only 18 years old ;(

I recently came upon a fairly old computer (1996), and I am trying to find more information on its graphics card(?) I am fairly sure that it is a graphics card, but I suppose I could be wrong. Anyone know what it is and any other info on it?

I based my list on prices of GPU that I've found in: CeX, eBay, Facebook Marketplace. Every information I've wrote i have found by myself, when you will get any mistakes send me message and I will correct it. If you will see any GPU that is not listed in post and you have found under 25$ send me message too. Note 1: Prices do not necessarily have to be current at the time you read this. Note 2: I do not reccomend getting a GPU in this price range, but as you will see maybe not all of them can get to trash today, and they still can be used to some builds Note 3: The list doesn't have a support Workstation GPU's Informations. Note 4: If you want to buy one of them please look at your PSU real provided power, and get better branded PSU to work with cards, that need more power and watch for a benchmarks in game you want to run on your PC and bandwith that it's running with, always pick the best version you can find. So I have an XFX Radeon R7 260x that I think is dead, but it makes computers act strange. I've tried it with 3 motherboards now, none of which have integrated graphics. Without any graphics card, they give their beep code for no graphics card ,but when I put the graphics card in, they don't give any beep codes. The fans just run at full speed and they never POST. What could be causing them to do this and is the graphics card dead?

Hey guys I have a problem that I’ve tired to fixed but can’t seem to come to a resolution with. So for some insight I have AMD 3900XT cpu and a EVGA 3080 ftw3ultra gpu 32Gb ram. so.. my problem is with my card I can’t get the thing to even come close to touching the FPS it should be 1920/1080 on far cry 5 average 140fps for example and I only get 50fps I have wiped clean the drivers and reinstalled the drivers and the GeForce experience and nothing the card also is only at 40% utilization while playing in game ive been through the control panel settings and everything is good. Ive even cranked everything to low in game then reset the game and nothing no rise at all in FPS. So if anyone has any ideas Im all ears for some help.

Is it possible to have 2 graphics cards in one pc, one just for running games, and another for other random things on a second monitor

Recently I've been having problems with my GPU fan on my Asus Geforce GTX 1660 Ti fans, while under semi-heavy load while playing anything from the modern day the fans turn on full blast for a few seconds and then shut off and they just keep doing the same thing. Is my card busted or is there a problem with the fan speed in something like Afterburner or my BIOS?

troubleshooting New GPU Won't Work, But Does Work. Kinda
ThirtieNyne posted a topic in Troubleshooting
My Specs: CPU: Ryzen 5 2600x Mobo: AsRock ab350m pro4 Ram: OlOy 2x8 @3000mhz Gpu: (OLD GTX 1050) (NEW R9 390 8gb) PSU: Corsair HX850W Silver Rated SSD: SK Hynix Gold S31 Case: Darkflash DLM 22 Now my problem. Installed the amd gpu and booted it up, didn't delete old drivers or anything. stuck on splash screen. I panicked and promptly tried; clearing CMOS, DP instead of HDMI, resetting EUFI settings (with old gpu, couldn't even enter bios with new) I then deleted all display drivers and downloaded AMD software, I then updated my bios to version 6.00 (which my bios said it was already on but let me update regardless) and then my last resort was to clean the new gpu since it was dusty. none of that worked. I read somewhere that the heatsink could short out a cable if it was being touched, but no cable of such was found. As of now I'm out of ideas and confident that my motherboard doesn't like the new gpu, its outdated anyways so I was planning on upgrading to a B450 I'm out ideas other than that, please help NOTE 1: My display doesnt even show output if i boot the computer more than once with the new gpu installed. again, it was working in the 2 hours leading up to me putting it in my pc, the only time it shows the splash screen is when its been booted with my gtx 1050 the previous time, after that the monitor recognizes an input and wakes up from sleep but wont output anything. NOTE 2 : The GPU runs great in the pc it came in, and unplugging my storage devices does nothing either so i doubt it has anything to do with windows, drivers, or anything to do with my storage. NOTE 3 : I have selected 3 new motherboards to buy, which one would be the best (in the old pc it came in it has an ASUS motherboard so I'm leaning towards that) 1- GIGABYTE B450 AORUS M 2- ASUS TUF Gaming B450M-PLUS II 3- ASRock B450M STEEL LEGEND Thanks for reading. -

Hi, I am having trouble with my laptop i have had for a while now and it all worked fine tell the other day, I closed out of a farm simulator save and when I came back probably an hour later the game was running horribly every time I would look around or jump it would stutter and it’s very annoying to play, it’s also been happening on another game called beamng.drive I have been looking stuff up and messing with my Nvidia settings and I can’t seem to figure out what’s going on if anybody has any hands or leave me in the right direction to fixing it that would help! Win version: 19041.1110 (2004) Specs: i7-8750H 16GB ram GTX 1060 2 ssd

I build a PC last year, actually my first ever one. I only had a budget of €350. Here are the Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G with Radeon RX Vega 8 RAM: G.Skill Aegis DIMM 8GB 2x Disk Drives: 256GB Intenso SSD M.2 2280 / TOSHIBA MK12346GSX Cooling: EKL Alpenföhn Sella Tower Mainboard: ASRock A320M-HDV R4.0 Power supply: Inter-Tech SL-500 Plus I think it's a pretty solid machine for my given budget. And now i'm thinking about upgrading it with an external gpu. I thought about the nvidia gtx 1050-ti, but is it really the best option? What would you guys recommend?

Hi there! This is my first forum post. Long story short - roof broke and office flodded so now everyone gets new workstations. The boss has agreed to the Samsung LC49RG90SSEXXY. Now, I plan to hook this up with an intel nuc with the i5 -1135G7 with iris integrated graphics. This is purely for administrative work spreadsheets and accounting and such like. (NO GAMING) will i get 100 - 120 hz with 10bit colour via this method. The max output of the nuc is 8k @ 60 hz. Additonally I'm planning on hooking another one up to a more workstation like computer with a ryzen 3600xt and 1650super (16gb ram) for some video editing, photo work, and maybe a little blender work. and then general admin stuff (NO GAMING). Obviously I'd like to go with something like a 2060 super but in australia you'll pay $1000 for that card. The 1650S is already $480. Is this a solid enough choice of should I try and aim higher? Suggestions and input would be greatly appreciated. I would like to move forward with outfitting the office as soon as possible

I need some advice: I've got a desktop with an ASUS gtx 1650 in it (no idea where my office sourced it from, I'm not going to ask). It has a DVI, HDMI, and a DisplayPort, we've got an output plugged into all three. The problem is that on start up, the graphics card only sends an output to the DVI monitor, and won't recognise any other outputs unless you unplug all three outputs, then plug them back in the right order (HDMI, DisplayPort, DVI). This is really unhelpful because we have volunteers with very low tech-literacy using this computer, and we can't have them needing to unplug cables. Does anyone have any suggestions? (If I need to add more details/it's in the wrong place let me know)

Budget (including currency): ~500.00 Country: US Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Gaming, streaming, Engineering software i.e. CAD, Solidworks As the new semester approaches and in-person classes start, a SFF PC is what I am considering to make. I am considering swapping my current mid-tower build into a SFF PC and I am finding it very hard to fit my parts into a SFF PC. Many cases do not allow me to recycle most parts of my build. Currently I have a replacement plans on my mobo, cpu, and psu so those can be swapped for smaller form factors but my 280mm Arctic Freezer ii and RTX 3080 are difficult to to fit in smaller cases. I have thought that maybe I could trade my gpu with someone who has a 300mm or smaller rtx 3080 but I don't know anyone who even owns one. I am open to the idea of making a custom loop but it would just exponentially raise my expenses. Any help or suggestions for cases, mobo's, and psu's? Do I bite the bullet and go full custom loop and sell my other parts? EDIT: the mobo and psue together are about 400 dollars soo that money would be added to the budget to buy the sff parts. So ~900 dollars budget and excluding my PSU and MOBO from my list.
