I have a RTX 2060 and I was wondering if mounting it vertically vs horizontal is better for performance. I know that the traditional way is horizontal but if vertical is better and gives better performance then that's an easy and cost effective fix

My current system (built April 2022): OS: Win 10 MoBo: MSI PRO B660M WiFi DDR4 CPU: Intel i5-12500 Ram: Kingston KF3600C17D4 8GB x2 Graphics Card: Galax RTX 2060 6GB Monitor: Dell U3415W (60 Hz, 3440x1440) Since my graphics card is hitting 4 years mark May this year, I'm thinking it's a good time to look at the graphics card so I can grab them in next 1~2 months. This is my graphics card usage profile: - I mostly play indie/ mobile games with PC client, so most of the time, I don't really need high GPU performance. - However, sometimes I picked some AAA games —but not right on their release day/month/year—, but I'll pick them up 1~2 years after, with 40%~50% discount on Steam. - Not sure if I will do video editing/streaming in the future. But if I ever do, I probably want a sufficiently powerful card to handle those. I don't want to upgrade a graphics card because I find them lacking in power. Looking back over a decade ago, it seems my sweetspots has been ~300 USD graphics cards, but the performance of their kind have been increasing in price ever over the years: Dec 2011 - GTX 560Ti - ~302 USD Aug 2015 - GTX 970 - ~327 USD May 2020 - RTX 2060 - ~342 USD So this time, I am planning to allocate about 350~375 USD on budget to get something similar to my old graphics card class. However, looking at the shelves on my local computer part shop, I can only found just some okay~ish card on this price range: Here are my options that I've filtered around that range: XFX RX 6700XT 12GB Swift 309 - ~300 USD XFX RX 7600XT 16GB Swift 210 - ~352 USD ASRock RX 7600XT 16GB - ~372 USD Galax RTX 4060 8GB - ~345 USD Galax RTX 3060Ti 8GB - ~354 USD ------------------------------------------------ But if I'm willing to go 50 USD overbudget, I can find these options: Galax RTX 4060Ti 8GB - ~416 USD XFX RX 6800 16GB Swift 319 - ~425 USD PowerColor RX 7700XT 12GB - ~462 USD Now, my worries on some of these options: - NVidia graphics cards: - Is 8 GB enough when today's AAA games dropping in price in next 1~2 years and I wish to play it on my 3440x1440 screen? I've been hearing the 'ooohs' and 'aahhs' how the nvidia been so stingy with the VRAM given to their cards, but haven't really deeply looked at the arguments why it's good/not good. (don't have much time to look at those videos) - Radeon graphics cards: - I haven't been using Radeon graphics card since... 2004, I think? I'm worried that that I'm blind with the potential problems getting Radeon cards nowadays, despite their superior FPS/price rating. Just simply from FPS per price, it seems RX6800 is the winner here. But again, I haven't weighted other factors like "issues with Radeon graphics cards" like back in those days. or how this card is already at 2 years old as of now, but still pulling ahead to 4060Ti at similar price point. - Is it worth it to pay extra 40 USD for RX7700 XT? What's the deal with RDNA2 vs RDNA3? - I'm less aware about brand difference for Radeon cards, Is XFX the lower-end choice? Should I pick different brand like PowerColor or ASRock?

If I bought an accelerator card, could I attach it to my main card (GTX 970) through SLI to use them as 1 GPU with more VRAM?

Built my computer years ago and looking to upgrade some parts. I decided to start with my gpu, currently I have a gtx 1070 card and thinking of upgrading to a 4070 or 4070ti. I want to be able to play most if not all games 4k max settings with atleast a consist 60fps. Is that unrealistic? I'm also happy if every now and then for super graphicly intense games to go down to high or medium 4k or 1440p max settings 60fps+ Is that a realistic exception, am I thinking to high? Is the gpu any good at all and a good upgrade? Would love to hear your guys advice and thoughts! MY CURRENT BUILD: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/72PbdH EDIT: Will the cpu bottleneck be a big deal?

Hello LMG, I was trying to insert my Zotac 1650 OC into my PC using a riser cable and I found that one of the "arms" had fallen off. I lift it up to see what had happens and the entire thing was disconnected from the female PCI insert. Before you assume anything, no, I did not pull a @RoxBox and yank it out, and it looked like they weren't even properly connected in the first place. Is it salvageable, and if not, what are other *CHEAP* alternatives? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I want to upgrade my GPU. I'm currently using GT730 4gb DDR3 which uses PCIe 2.0 x8 and I want to upgrade it with Gigabite GTX 1650 4gb DDR6 PCIe 3.0x16. I don't know it will work or not coz the PCIe are different. So, will it work? My motherboard is H61

Hello nerds, I'd say "fellow nerds", but I'm not sure I'm quite there yet in terms of being a full nerd. I'm looking for a decent upgrade for a Geforce GT 730 that will not require extra external power (6/8 pin power).Sadly, the user I'm working with hasn't provided their PC model, so not sure what their power supply is. I know it's a Dell machine and comes spec'd with a i7-9700f and running 16GB RAM. I'm going to assume it's on an SSD (I really hope it's on an SSD) Anyways, I this PC is used for rendering videos and naturally, the GT 730 is slower than me at the olympics. My research suggests a GTX 1050 ti or a GTX 1650 OC would be good (most seem to think a 1650 would be good) Any other recommendations? I just want to confirm my sanity. Of course, I need to check the case size. If it's a small case, have you guys got any suggestions on an SFF graphics card? ( Dims of the geforce gt 730 Height: 5" / 126 mm Length: 7.3" / 185 mm Width: Single-Slot) I know the 1650 isn't full size, but not sure if it will clear the height...guess I'll see once the user sends me their service tag and I can post exactly what Dell machine this is. It's unlikely to have been changed from what it was at stock, so if you can figure out what it could be based on this config - then hats off to you. What a ledge. My googling suggests it could be an optiplex 7070 SFF Thanks humans! S_P

case Am I going to need a bigger case to fit 2 GPUs?
Blaspheme posted a topic in New Builds and Planning
Budget (including currency): $0-$500 (USD) Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: KVM, Compiling, Programming, Video Editing, Gaming, VR, 3D Modeling, etc. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): These are the current parts that I have: MSI MPG X670E Carbon Gaming WiFi - MOBO AMD Ryzen 9 7900X - CPU G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO Series 64GB (2 x 32GB) - RAM Corsair iCUE H150i Elite CAPELLIX XT - CPU LIQUID COOLER Corsair iCUE 5000D RGB Airflow Black - CASE These are the parts that I'm wanting to put inside: ASRock AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX TAICHI - GPU #1 PowerColor Red Devil AMD Radeon RX 6950 XT - GPU #2 I have more parts on the way, but they're not really relevant for my question. I received my motherboard today, thinking that it was going to be perfectly okay. My biggest concern is the size of my case. I plan on putting the 2 previously mentioned GPUs in this systems. My only concern is that the cards won't fit. I am not set on the PowerColor Red Devil as my 2nd GPU, and will be willing to change it for another decent 6950 XT. All I'm wanting to know is if these cards will fit in my systems case or not. If not, what case would be recommended? If I have to vertical mount my GPUs due to lack of space on my motherboard, which case would be big enough to support a possible triple slot card in it's vertical mount? I understand that these cards will both only run at x8 speeds. The cards will occupy both the silver looking PCIe 5.0 slots on my MOBO. I have included a fair amount of Corsair parts in this setup. Especially for their iCUE system. It's not a big deal if I have to send some parts back to where I purchased them from. I just want a neat looking case with some RGB vomit mixed in. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I have attached some (admittedly not so great) pictures below of how much space I have available. Being new to PC building, I have no idea how the cards will line up with the motherboard and case, so any help to understand my problem would be great. Thanks! -
Will a Corsair RM650x power supply be sufficient to run an NVIDIA GeForce 4070Ti graphics card? Or should I upgrade to the rm850x? PC Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-12700 RAM: 16GB(8gb dual channel/ rgb) Storage: 1.5TB M.2 SSD Fans: 7 total (including 3 RGB fans) Not sure if adding my fans in there was necessary.

Hi, so basically my good old GTX 1080 just kicked the bucket and I now need to buy a replacement. Where I live the two best GPUs that are both readily available and in my price range are the RTX 3070 and the 4060 Ti. After a brief search online I have seen that they seem to have very similar raw performance at 1080p but I was wondering if there are any features available on the RTX 4060 Ti that are not available on the 3070 or if there are any differences in their ray tracing performance as I see the 4060 Ti has newer ray tracing cores.

I want to upgrade my Gpu in my computer and my budget is $200, What do you think I should get considering these are my specs? these are are my current PC Specs Gigabyte AUG X470 Ryzen 7 2700x Radeon Powercolor Red devil Rx 580 8 GB 16 GB 3000 mHz and a Antec Edge 750 watt PSU built this in 2019 for upgrading GPU, never could afford to or seemed reasonable but i think its time. i like the fact the 4060ti consumes very less power and remains cooler than 3rd Gen RTX card while giving lot better 0.1% and 1% Frame drops even with DLSS off. but at same time am skeptical of the x8 lane PCIE instead of x16 and 128 instead of 256 bit memory interface, which is lower than my Rx580 but clearly performance wise its a huge upgrade for 40-50% less power usage.

i built my first pc! because I'm on a budget i have to go with a ryzen 7 5700g, but i want to eventually pair it with a Graphics card. I was wondering what the best pairing for a 5700g is?

I recently got a 3070ti FE and the dang thing just runs really hot and really loud. It would quickly hit 110C when under load and the fans sound like they were doing their best helicopter impression. I repasted the card with some Kryonaut Extreme and re-padded with Minus Pad 8s, and now the temps are maxing out around 85C-95C, while idle temps are in the mid to high 40s. I know this is technically within spec for the founders edition cards, but I know it can be cooler. I've been looking around for either AIO or after-market air-cooling solutions, but I cannot find anything for the 3070 ti. As far as I can tell, after-market air coolers pretty much don't exist for the 30 series cards and beyond. I know EK, Alphacool, and others make water blocks for my specific card, however I am not wanting to do a custom water loop for my setup. I have found that Alphacool makes an AIO for higher end cards like the 3080 (ti) and 3090 (ti), the Eiswolf 2 AIO. AIO Wasserkühlung für Geforce RTX 3080 FE GPU | All-in-One GPU Does anyone have experience with these kind of GPU AIOs? I was initially thinking about trying to jerryrig and combine the Alphacool Eisblock Aurora Acryl waterblock and backplate with the Alphacool Eiswolf 2, however I don't know what their compatibility would be like. GPU Water Cooler for Geforce RTX 3070 TI FE | Eisblock GPX Do you guys have any suggestions on how I should move forward? Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

Basically the question, does anyone know if AX-gaming cards are reliable or what their overall quality is? Any cons? I just noticed these cards on newegg and they have great specs for a really great price which may be too good to be true. https://www.newegg.com/p/1FT-00J6-00007

I just bought a rtx 3070 asus TUF for my h510m-s2h gigabyte MB and i asked the shop owner if the GPU could sag because its like 3 fans and heavy and stuff he said that the heatsink on that card is rather small as well as the pipes so the card isn't even that heavy. a 2 fan 3060 ti gaming x is heavier. Got the card and got back home. but i am still worried about sagging. Brackets where i live cost a lot and i already paid a lot for the card on it's own. Any ideas ?

I have been looking into running 2 rtx 3070s running 2 2560x1440p monitors. Assuming I use an Intel i7 12th gen, what would I need to know? Would it work how I think it will and one gpu runs one monitor or maybe something crazy happens. I'm unsure and super curious.

Traded in my used GTX 1660 super zotac AMP for this one and adding 350$. Is it worth it ? Note : This is a brand new 3060 TI. Not used.

graphics cards GPU Dilema (Best 3070 vs Worst 3070 Ti)
Skunga_Dunga posted a topic in Graphics Cards
Good day. Since Black Friday is around the corner, I thought I'd save enough for a GPU, since I'm using an Athlon 3000g and bought a R7 5800x thinking it'd suffice until I get to buy a GPU. Aiming high, I found that EVGA's FTW3 3070 Ultra is at a price that I could probably afford ($800 USD aprox.). Sounds good to me, but then I found that EVGA's XC3 3070 Ti Ultra sometimes goes $50 USD cheaper than the aforementioned 3070. Sounded like a good deal to me! Until I watched O!Technology's tier list video for the 3070 and 3070 Ti. Reading through Reddit, I have found arguments that the worst 3070 Ti would be better than the best 3070. But, considering thermals and noise, I then found myself doubting if that'd be true. Question then being, should I choose the "better" priced Ti or should I go for the better ranked 3070? And considering the rumors of upgraded models for the 30 series, should I wait for those instead? For reference, here're some parts of my current setup: CPU: Athlon 3000g (and a R7 5800x going unused) Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S redux RAM: HyperX Fury 8GB 3200Mhz x2 PSU: SilverStone Technology ET550-HG 80 Plus Gold (I will upgrade my PSU as well) MoBo: Asus TUF B550M-PLUS Case: Cooler Master MasterBox Q300L Fans: upHere 120mm (3 pack) -
So was om ebay and seen some graphics cards with rf coax soldered on. What is the point of that. Like what? Made my brain hurt. Poor gpu
