My PC isn't running too hot, however the fan on my 2060 is super loud. As a way to increase airflow without getting a new case, could I flip my PSU to use as a way to extract air?

I live in a developing country and i want to build a gaming pc on a tight budget. I've chosen i3-12100F with ASUS Prime H610M - E D4. My GPU options are GTX 1650, RX 6500 XT and RX 580. All are under my budget but I'm confused if i should go with a PCI Express Gen 4 card with 4GB VRAM since my CPU is 12th gen or go with the RX 580 which has 8GB VRAM but PCI Express Gen 3. I will be gaming on 1080p only. Pls do not recommend buying a used GTX 1080 or similar because there are almost no options on the used market here and its very risky. Also I'd like to know the required wattage for my PSU. Newbie PC builder here so not really sure how to choose wattage for PSU. Help is appreciated :)

Hello all! System specs GB Aorus Elite X570 Wifi Ryzen 5800x3D RTX2080S (old) RTX4070TI (new) 16GB DDR4 3600 750W PSU TLDR; GB Aorus Elite X570 Wifi + 4070ti crashing on PCIEx16 Gen 4, appearing more stable on Gen 3(?) I recently purchased an ASUS Tuf RTX 4070ti. I installed this into my system right away. I did some diligence before the purchase, making sure I had the wattage and parts that weren't too too bottlenecked for 1440 future-proofing. This GPU was truly the last upgrade I could make without having to scrap the system and move on to next gen mobo, higher PSU, ram, etc. I installed the card, reinstalled NVIDIA drivers and was on my way. 2 days later, I noticed some hitching in game; COD and FIFA 23. Something was off. I did another driver install thru geforce xp, and a driver reset (w+ctrl+shift+b)and it seemed to relieve the issue. Today, I am noticing massive hitching, slow performance/ instability in windows desktop, automatic restarts, black screens on power up and restart, and monitors disconnecting on their own. A panic set in, and to forums I went. I first attacked my BIOS version, by updating to the latest software as my BIOS was approaching 1 year old. This had no effect, however I did have to reapply all of my BIOS settings. I read much about DDU and performing a true clean graphics install via safe boot, etc. I did this, and my system was performing well. Shortly after, I restarted the computer as I had just downloaded multiple things and re-established the graphics drivers. The computer black screened, and I was forced to power down and start back up. The hitching and low performance continued. I re-entered the BIOS and then change my PCIEx16 gen from auto (which would be 4.0 as it is a 4070ti) to 3.0. Now the system appears stable and responsive, with appropriate performance in game as well. Now I have only powered down twice, so I am hoping I don't re enter the same loop. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Or can anyone confirm that my reasoning/solution is correct??? I am really trying to avoid these crashes and instability. Any other tips to remedy this, and make sure it doesn't start happening again? Thank you!

I have an i7 7700k with an RTX 2070 right now. I built my pc back in late 2017. I think my pc is still pretty good right now but I've been thinking about upgrading my graphics card to a 40 series card, probably a 4070. I was wondering if I should upgrade my i7 7700k to a newer one like the 12th or 13th gen i7, or wait for 14th gen. If I do get a 4070 will my GPU be bottlenecked by my i7 7th gen ?

Greetings, I will try and make this short; I was recently gifted a machine that is currently running Windows 7. The motherboard on this machine is a Hewlett-Packard 158B and it has a NVIDIA Quadro 6000. I was wondering if this motherboard is even capable of running a 3090. The reason why I have a 3090 is because it was on my main machine before I upgraded to the ti model. I was wondering if that motherboard is even capable of a card like that. And if not, what good graphics card is capable? since the Quadro 6000 is starting to show it's age lol. Thank you.

Hello, I am wrapping up my first PC build and the last factor is a GPU. I was initially eyeing the 7900xtx, but after more deliberation, am looking more at the 4090. I have adopted the ideal of buy once, cry once (for better or worse) as I plan to run this setup for awhile before upgrading. I have been thinking of the MSI Suprim X or the Suprim Liquid X, but was wondering if anyone had experiences with these cards, or would suggest another. I personally do not care for the aesthetic of the Strix card, though I do understand it is one of the highest rated for power/performance. It will be housed I'm a Lian Li 011 dynamic evo and I do plan to vertically mount the card. I currently have a 360 radiator for my CPU AIO mounted on the top, but if I went with a liquid cooled card, that would likely be moved to the vertical mounted position and the GPU AIO mounted on top. Any insight or experiences with these, or other comparable cards would be lovely and I would appreciate it very much, thank you! Side note, I am already running a 1000w PSU as well as an i7-13700k with 64gb ddr5.

In 2017, a rat entered my gaming pc and it pissed on the graphics card. When I turned on my pc, it fried my poor Asus Strix GTX 970 GPU. Today i decided to take a look it and saw burnt pci-e contact pins. There is no actual damage to the vram, capacitors or GPU die itself. But the contact pins are burnt and something probably decomposed on the card. So, these are my questions- Q.1 Is there any possible way to restore my graphics card? Q.2 Should I clean it up with isopropyl alcohol and try turning it on? Q.3 Will it damage my pc?

Good evening! I’m coming to the tech people to ask if my Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 Ti would be able to run dual ASUS ProArt PA278QV monitors at 1440p resolution and at about 65 to 70 hz. Unfortunately, I don’t really have the resources to test this before purchasing, so I’m relying on you guys!!

So on 3/2/21 my graphics card suddenly stopped working properly. My computer has been working well and I've had it for about a month but this suddenly happened. I think it was some sort of NVIDIA driver update but now my games say that it is not compatible. Both say that it's something with GPU. Is this something that other people have been having problems with and is there a fix I can do? Thank you

Hi! Recently ive been getting some issues with my games not using my dGPU (1650m) and using my integrated Vega 8 graphics which is making the games bottleneck and my computer slow down. I have a 2nd display plugged in via HDMI, also i have forced my games both on windows and the nvidia control panel to use my 1650m but it doesnt work. Someone said to me on reddit that my dGPU isnt getting any power/very little. Does anyone know how to fix this and if so what other details i need to provide so you can assist me further? Thanks! Kian

I think my graphics card (an EVGA 780Ti SC) might have bricked itself? You can see my full PC specs on my profile The short story is that Windows (Pro, 64-bit) has automatically disabled my GPU (Code 43 in device manager) and there's nothing I seem to be able to do about it. The long story is... The night before my woes I shut down my computer and it had no updates pending install, so everything seemed normal. The next day I powered up my computer and I think I hit enter after typing my password when the screen froze and after doing nothing for a bit, I got a BSoD whose apparent cause was "DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION". I restarted my computer and basically the same thing happened again, however this time the display freaked out a little before it BSoDed with the same error. It then got stuck in a boot loop for a couple of cycles before starting up again, at which point I was able to log in, but very shortly after the display freaked out (I got all kinds of funny shapes and colours) before it died and put itself into recovery mode and I rebooted it again. This time it started in a funky resolution and let me into windows just fine, at which point I realised that it was running with no driver active. Interestingly, with the GPU physically installed, CPU-Z can tell what it is, but can't seem to access any operating statistics such as clock speed and memory capacity. I have tried everything which I (and others) can think of to get windows to accept my GPU again... I have: Fully updated windows Completely physically removed my GPU and reseated it Uninstalled the GPU from the system in Device Manager and re-discovered it Run DDU in safe mode Installed a 3 month old driver through device manager Installed the latest driver from GeForce Experience Put it in another system, but the screen went black and remained blank when the driver was installed I haven't tried reinstalling Windows because I've had to do it before and I want to avoid that inconvenience at all costs - is there anything else I can try? I've bought a PSU tester to verify that it isn't a power supply issue. Could it be a corrupted VBIOS?

Hello! I’m looking for help from this forum as I don’t know where to look next on my issue. TL;DR below I recently opened my PC to clean out the dust that it has accumulated over the past 5 years. I have a Silverstone SG13 so disassembling is required to get into all the nooks and crannies. I took my HDD, SDD, GPU and PSU out which cleared enough space to reach in. I did this all in my living room as it was raining outside, with a fan blowing dust/air out a window. I throw everything back in how it originally was, and waited until the next morning to boot as I wanted to make sure that no stray water droplets got into the case. I don’t think anything got into it as I was far enough from the window. I plug everything in and power on the system only to be met with my GPU spinning at 100% fan speed, then the system shuts off about 30 seconds later. It then loops on and off until I have to manually power it off. I proceed to look for answers online and find that it could be a number of things. I have a newer, similar system in the house, so I swap the PSU from each and it turns out the old PSU has died. I come to this conclusion as it stopped power looping once I put the new one in. The next issue is that the GPU is still running at 100% fan speed and does not show a display through HDMI nor DP. It does, however, show me a display through internal graphics from my MOBO. I put my GPU into my newer system, and it does the exact same thing. So I’m assuming it’s a GPU issue. I put the newer PC’s GPU into the older system and it works just fine, so I assume the MOBO is good. I took apart the card to look for any signs of problems and find nothing, and applied new thermal paste since I was already in there. Now I don’t know what to do. System specs for older PC: CPU: Intel I7 6700k GPU: MSI 1070 Aero OC 8gb PSU: Silverstone SFX 500W SX500-LG MOBO: Gigabyte Z170N-Wifi RAM: 16gb HyperX DDR4 System specs for newer PC: CPU: Intel I7 9700k GPU: GTX 970 PSU: Silverstone 750w MOBO Gigabyte Z390 I Aorus Pro Wifi RAM: 16gb Corsair Vengeance tl;dr I cleaned PC, put components back together and found my old PSU had died. Put new PSU in and now my GPU fan spins at 100% and has no display output. Put GPU into newer system and same results. Internal graphics on both systems work fine. Different GPU on both systems work fine. RIP 1070? I appreciate all input!

Hi there! This is my first build with zero experience. I checked compatibility for the MSI GeForce GTX 1070 and ROG STRIX B550-F motherboard/Corsair 4000D Airflow case. I have fitted everything Other than this Graphics card. I have repeatedly tried to slot the card in but it will not click. I am afraid to press down much harder as I cannot see and I am sure I’ve not aligned the card properly. When I aligned the screw on the left it rests slightly on the memory on the right side of the graphics card. Removing the base on the case would help so much to see, yet on stop down tutorials I haven’t found one that removes the case base. Sorry for the dumb questions, this is embarrassing as hell. Do I pull back the graphics card clip before inserting? I’ve tried inserting with the upright too. If anyone has info that could help I’d appreciate it very much
