Hey i was hoping someone should help me out with a problem I've been having. I'm running a AMD FX8350 CPU, 8gb 1600ghz RAM, GTX 650 Ti Boost 2gb GPU and 2 screens on top of that. When i run both screens playing games on both, sometimes 6 of the same game (3 on each) my pc lags and mouse jolts back and forth making it very hard to play or even close things down, is this my GPU running out of VRAM? I am trying to use MSI Afterburner to see what my GPU is doing and I can't get my head around it, Is GPU usage, % the % of VRAM im using? and when it comes to RAM usage, MB is that how much RAM i am using or is RAM usage, MB the % I'm using? please help as i want to fix this lag and don't want to pay what I don't need to, to fix my pc.

So I have two questions 1. Is it possible to use an AMD GPU as a dedicated physx card? 2. Would it be better to set up a Radeon HD 6670 1gb as a dedicated physx card along side with my GYGABYTE GTX 1070 G1? Thanks

I have lenovo b490 laptop. This laptop has nvidia 610m 1GB vram. But since i often switching my storage between ssd and hdd my nvidia driver is not detected almost everytime i turn on my laptop. I dont know how to fix it. This problem started around 3months ago. I have tried many tutorials on google but it couldnt fix my problem. I brought my laptop to the best laptop service in my city but they cant handle it too.. Please someone help me... sorry for my bad english. Im from indonesia

Hello guys, i would like to know if you would recommend me to upgrade my 700wts PSU. At the moment i use the following: CLICK HERE TO SEE THE SPECS OF THE HALE 82 V2 I don't know if the Vega 56 will have issues with the wattage of my psu, or if there will be no problem. I know it is not the best PSU in the market for what i've read, but i would like to know what you guys think about this. Here is the rest of my specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K - CPU Speed: 4000 MHz - CPU Vcore: 1.2 V CPU COOLER: EVO 212 RAM: 2x 8GB DDR4 2133 FuryX MOTHERBOARD: Asus Z170-a SSD: Samsung 850 evo 1TB HDD: WesternDigital Blue 7200rpm 1TB COOLERS: 6x 140mm MONITOR: AOC G2460PF 24" (I'm not sure if all of those things influence in the wattage usage) Thanks in advance!

I have strange issue, my graphic card for SOME REASON stopped displaying video on both HDMI and single dvi stopped working leaving me with only one output. Reinstaling system didn't work, drivers too, and i don't have any ideas. I'm changing card any way but it will be in one month. And i have dual monitors? Is it death? Or can i ressurect it for this one last time? Tnx Kacper

Hey, I'm looking for a small laptop that I want to use for university that is pretty cheap (I'll use a desktop pc at home so it doesn't need very good specs). I have no real price limit but I'd like to end up under the 400 Euro mark (I'm german so prices may be different over here). My current favourite is the Lenovo yoga book (used with a bluetooth keyboard) and I just wanted to know if anyone knows something better Important: Lightweight and not over 15'' (for good portability) If possible with a touchscreen Enough power to last a day Should last longer than 2 years (processor should be fast enough to do everyday stuff for the next 5 years if possible) Thank you all already in advance ~Holly

When ever I try to launch a game it will freeze after about a minute and then give me the notification saying the game is being denied graphical power. (Win10, L4D2, GTA V)

Hello Recently i have been searching for some device that could replace my notebooks, i have shit lot of them and they are heavy. I have been serching for graphic tablet that is stand-alone device so i could writte some notes and next send it to my laptop (i always have laptop with me) or to my pc. But i can't find anything. Only thing that i found was Garett Tab 2 and BoggieBoard 8.5 JOT, but the issue with both of thoose that they cant send notes directly to computer, and i know i can send it to phone but i have to take a photo and i found out that it is too junky for me. Do yo have anything that you know?

Hello guys, could you recommend a monitor which is suitable for Graphic Design and as well for Gaming? What is important for me, is that the monitor is atleast 2560x1440 resolution and it has a IPS panel since it is mandatory for graphic design. But i also like to play some FPS, like CS:GO. These games require high refresh rate monitors as well if you want to be pretty good at it so i'm also interested in a high refresh rate monitor. Talking about my budget, it is under 1000 euros. Pure Power BQT L7 530W RAM: 12GB DDR3 I think this is a solid setup. I’m playing Guild wars 2, and even with the Graphic settings on medium I’m getting FPS drops to 30. Also, when I play PUBG my FPS is 35 to 40 on medium to High setting. All Drivers are Installed. It also feels like changing the Graphic setting ingame doused change much, FPS stays almost the same or just changes -10/+10 even with big changes from High to Low settings. Is there anything in my setup that Bottlenecking the System? Or are my expectations to high? I hope someone can help me Thank you! Tim -
Hi! Im new to the linus tech tips forum but it seems like i need some help. Im not sure if im in the right topic or not. I just put it in here, because it would make the most sense to me. I want to make clear, that english isn't my main language and there could be some mistakes with my sentences or gramma. Here is my build: Processor: Intel core i7 4770k Motherboard: MSI Z97 Gaming 5 RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16 GB 1600 Mhz Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 980 OC 3x Windforce Power Supply: Bequiet 530 Watt Processor Cooling: Corsair H100i V2 HDD & SSD: 2TB HDD, 512 GB SSD (Windows), 256GB SSD(Games) Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro ( 1x 140mm Bequiet Silent Wings 2 Back, 1x 200mm Thermaltake PURE 20 front) So now to the problem. For 3 days now, my 2 screens flash like a couple times a day. There is just a sudden flash in the image, like a black bar at some part of the screen for like 0,2 seconds and then its gone. Mostly happens while playing games. But im not sure why it would happen. I installed the newest NVIDIA Driver and resettet the old nvidia settings. It cant be that both of my monitors have the same problem within the same time, so i can say for sure its not them. If its the wrong topic, please tell me. I hope there is someone who will be able to try some things out, and tell me what i can do to try to fix it or locate the problem. Thank you

right, I have built a new computer, this is my first for gaming and for general at home working (currently at college) I currently am running: CPU: Intel i5-6600k Motherboard: MSI Z170A RAM: 16gb Vengance Graphics: MSI GTX 1060 6GB Power: Corsair 750W Im thinking about beefing up the graphics and considering buying another GTX 1060, but otherwise unsure, as 1060 costs around £250+ is there a better option instead of running duel cards and something that is just a powerful where i only require 1 card. Any suggestions to current rig would be greatly welcomed. Thanks

Hi! I was given a GTX 760 twin frozr card the other day as my nephew bought a GTX 1060. It seems to work fine going to test some overclocking once i get this thing out of the way. Online it says this card has a boost clock of 1150mhz when in OC mode. In unigine valley i would get 1241mhz and 3004 memory My old card is a GTX 750 TI that i have had issues with. It says online to have a boost clock of 1137mhz so lower then the GTX 760 but in Unigine valley it gets 1333mhz and 2700 memory Maybe the unigine valley numbers are off by a bit but still the GTX 760 should have a higher number and not lower then the GTX 750ti I found out there is an app and downloaded it and put it on OC mode and got 1311 in Valley. and in MSI afterburner it changes to a +70 in OC mode. In gaming mode it's +0 and a clock of 1241mhz From all i have read the GTX 760 is a better card then the 750 TI but not by much but with my testing the GTX 750ti wins in clock speed and the GTX 760 wins in memory clock. Is there something wrong or is valley just bad for showing mhz? didn't check afterburner or HWmonitor for the GTX 750 Ti so have no data from those programs. Thanks

Hey everyone, I'm interested to hear everyone's opinions as to who is going to be dominant in the Graphic card market in the coming 5 years. Nvidia have made deals with car manufacturers for technology for automatic cars, and for the new surface pros with Microsoft. I'm not sure about AMD There may even be other companies I'm not aware of creating GPUs - but from Nvidia and AMD - who do you think will be most successful?

Hey guys, I am wondering if there are any good IPS (can also be any other panel type, as long as it has good color representation) monitors for gaming and graphic designing under 400$? Min. resolution is 1920 x 1080, don't really need higher, but if there is any higher resolution monitors i would not mind. Also I don't play a lot of FPS games, but refresh rate higher than 60Hz would be great. Thanks! -

What is the basics necessities in a computer that you need for programs like adobe, cinema 4d, maya, etc...... i don't want anything fancy just something that will do the job. side questions: Is a graphics card a must? What cpu should i get? etc....

RTX seems to be failing all over the world. Either artifacts, shutdowns, graphical glitches or strange sporadic behavior. For some it seems the artifacts disappears with certain updates but the underlying problem still exist somewhat. Some have got a good card via RMA with their second, third or fourth try. Certain cards have worked good for months and others only weeks before failing. Have anybody out there got a good card with their first try that works perfectly with no strange glitches, artifacts or behavior what so ever? Or are those that for the moment got a working card a ticking bomb waiting to fail. I want this card and love ray tracing but don't want the hassle that comes with it. I got a feeling that the real reason the rumored new RTX Super with faster memory are made is to tackle the problem that was inherit to the old RTX cards - a design flaw not only because of bad micron memory. That's why the old card will be discontinued and the new RTX card reign supreme. Or maybe I am just a narrow mined flat earther that imagine things. The real reason my friends card have failed is to unlucky randomness and that the only people that being vocal about RTX cards in general are those having problems, which in the grand scheme of things are a very small group of people. So, ive got my new pc and everything is working well except that when i want to open the nvidia control panel it says that no nvidia graphics card is connected to this monitor but when i go in the task manager i see my rtx 2060 functionning normally.Also, the intel uhd graphics are set as first graphic so when i play a game it takes that instead of the rtx. But if i want to change the order i need to acces to the nvidia control panel... Im a bit stuck and i need help to get out of this vicious circle!!! Thanks and save me

I have an old 1060 that I got recently from a friend of mine. I already have a 2080 install in my current rig that powers my 1 4k Wacom tablet and 1qhd monitor. Is it ok to plug in that 1060 in my system and use it for my 3rd monitor? will it cause any problem in the performance? also, can I combine the power of both GPUs for rendering 3d stuff? Currently, have 5960x processor installed with a 2080 GPU and 1000w cooler master PSU.

Hello,i have very big problem. My PC is 1 month old and all games are running bad for me. Evey game got +- 50FPS less then on all benchmarks on youtube. Im playing all games in 1080p and my main monitor is Samsung S24F350 - LED monitor 24" my second monitor is only 1680x1050,so im using it only on FB,Youtube etc... I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Does anyone know how many monitors are supported for Vega 64? I've personally got 3 1080p monitors running at 60hz. I've got another graphics tablet on top of that. My current GPU configuration doesn't support more then three monitors so I'm hoping Vega doesn't disappoint in this regard. Otherwise, off to crossfire setups it is then.

Hey guys, I noticed a strange behavior in my PC for months now... at first i though i was temporary but now its showing up frequently. My screen glitches every time the desktop is refreshed,ejecting storage device,inserting storage device,when i close my browser,or a notification pops up. For a fraction of a second the entire or sometimes few blocks of the screen turns negative......it also happens when i unlock my screen....some times it stays like there until i move my mouse. Its been an year since i assembled this PC.......but the monitor is quite old. specs:- ryzen 3 1200 gtx 1050ti asus phoenix 8gb ddr4 2400mhz 450w psu windows 10 OS i have attached a screenshot on how it looks like..... If anyone knows what this is and what is the problem please reply with a solution. Thank You.
