Hello everyone, im new here and i hope i can ask more questions like this itf, Now, my pc build is i3 8100 with gtx 1060 gb, 16gb ram and a rather cheap mobo which is gigabyte ga h110m ds2. so the choices are rather quite bottleneck and because I'm only upgrading one component. Keep in mind that the prices may be different in your country, my first pick is upgrading my cpu with i7 9700k (100% bottleneck in bottleneck calculator) or upgrading my gpu to 2060 or some cheap secondhand 1080ti. But I'm afraid it doesnt support because of my mobo if i choose i7 one. (ps: i know bottleneck calculator isn't too accurate but at least i can imagine the situations first) sorry if this question is kinda funny because im still noob in this whole pc specs thing. I'm looking forward to the replies, thanks for reading :)

Hi there, I need some help with the build for my girlfriend, she is an art director and designer.I am more comfortable with gaming builds, and maybe there is some small piece I could leave behind. I will follow the guidelines 1. Budget & Location The budget is 1000€. The conversion to dollar price part is usually 121, plus 300/400 for a 4K monitor, and 100 for the peripherals. Location is Spain 2. Aim The PC will be used for content creation on adobe suite mainly (Huge files), autocad, other design programs and some video editing as secondary. I will probably use it for gaming sometimes, but I have my own system for that, so it is not a real target. 3. Monitors 4K monitor 4. Peripherals OS not required. I have some old OEM keys at home that I can recycle. She just needs a good keyboard and mouse with 100$ budget. 5. Why are you upgrading? She has a laptop for the job, but it is becoming a bottle neck and she needs a more powerful machine. Reliable and always ready. I made 2 configurations, and I have my doubt on the graphic card. I tried with a 2060 KO for the performance close to the 2070 in productivity and a 5700XT. Any suggestion there? I went in both cases with Ryzen 3600 with standard cooler right now, and I will look for a different one in case of overclock, if needed. The RAM is RGB because was the best price in the website I checked for a 16GB, 2x8, 3200 kit. Option 1 - 976€ Option 2 - 1027€ Thank you

So I currently have a 240 watt psu in a pre-built Dell Inspiron. I am currently running a GTX 1050 LP in it and have been for the past 2 years. I recently wanted an upgrade for better fps in games. I was wondering if a 1650 SUPER would be able to run with my low power 240 watt PSU. Or should I just go with the 1650 LP version to be safe?

Alright, so I've tried to look around to see if there is an answer for my question, but since i'm running 2 R9 290x's in CF I can't seem to find out exact information. Base clock for both of them is ~1330 Mhz. So I'm thinking of upgrading my GPUs to either the 1080 strix or the 1080 SC because, I want to go into 4K gaming. Right now I'm gaming on a 1080p projector and even now with most of the AAA titles my 2 GPUs can't run max settings anymore and really most games have to run closer to medium (and this is on 1080p) so I really don't think they will be able to do much in 4K but I have no way to test it right now (aside from super-sampling from the GPU, but IDK if that is a good indicator of true 4K performance). So is it worth the upgrade? Will I see much of a performance boost? Or should I just wait for the next iteration of cards to come out before upgrading? Cost wise I'm guessing after selling the 2 cards I'll end up more or less even, so it really isn't that big of a deal here. And from what i've deducted going into 1080 SLI wouldn't be worth it so... yea. The only think I found was upgrading from a R9 295 to a 1080 would be a 22% increase in performance, and about a 48% increase in performance from 1 R9 290x. Any thoughts would be great!

So I am going through graphics cards on various sites, then PCPartspicker for an easier quicker comparison, and I am at a loss as to why cards are almost always over M.S.R.P. . Now it is not just that, the branding is also misleading. We will start with M.S.R.P. We can't have a shortage on all these models, as I see them in stores all the time. Now MSRP on an RX480 8 gb is $219 usd, the same as an rx 580. Here are the prices for the least expensive 8gb models I could find. Also, notice the clock speeds and the adjective/s describing the card. Asus Dual OC Radeon RX 480 8GB 1.12 GHz $234.95 XFX Radeon RX 480 OC 8GB 1.12 GHz $234.99 Gigabyte RX 480 G1 Gaming 8GB 1.12 GHz $239.00 MSI ARMOR RX 580 ARMOR OC 8GB 1.26 GHz $239.99 Gigabyte Gaming Version (GV) 8GB 1.12 GHz $239.99 ASUS ROG STRIX Gaming 8GB 1.12 GHZ $244.78 This continues up to $328.99 usd for non OC'd standard RX 480 cards. The most expensive RX 580 on PCPartsPicker I believe was $262.07 Oddly enough, if I go to the AMD website I find their Radeon 480 listed at $209.99! Great, I can buy directly from AMD for a reference card; for less money! No, it directs me to NewEgg where my total cost is $224.98. So what gives? This same card (This exact same Sapphire Gaming Nitro I was directed to was $174.95 in January 2017. What is causing this, as I stated, it is not lack of product. The misbranding is ridiculous as well (Oddly enough, the Sapphire Nitro was slightly overclocked to 1.21 GHZ). Does anyone have a clue why this is happening? The supply is not too great for demand, so again "what gives"?

Nvidia is aiming for the low-end with newly rumored GT 1030 with new Pascal based design GP108. The expected price will be around 100 USD. This is maybe a response to the RX550. Hello, I am C# developer and am into webapps and mobile app development(majorly android), want to start into game development using unity3d with C# scripting. Want to get a new rig for that because my laptop is not holding up with the softwares i need to use mainly Visual studio, unity 3d. Would it be better to build my own rig or get a prebuilt system. i wanted to build a workstation but there are a lot of options and whenever i settle for one part the other seems incompatible or an imperfect match. CPU i chose was 7700k but after seeing few of your videos thought of extreme series 6800k(should i look at no. of core or cpu clock speed??) motherboards should i get c612 chipset based or something else, does 1080 does the work or i should go for a quadro???? there is a lot of confusion so can you help me out with the right combination of cpu motherboard and gpu that can help me take things off the floor

Hi Guys Its my first post here and i came seeking advice from pc veterans since im a total noobie, i own a desktop hp pavilion idk which model which is prebuilt and i wanna change the graphic card now unfortunately im on a budget a big one and i would like a good performing graphic card for mmorpg games and so on a decent card. here is my stuff https://gyazo.com/55fff49a9092201cdde77df390f4f240 as u can see i have a pretty shit graphic card which can only play league at high i struggle on lowest for overwatch etc, i thought about the 1050 ti because it doesnt require any pin and fit my 300 psu if you have any other option i would like to hear. Now the main question is if i buy the 1050 ti will it work can i just plug it in the pcie x16 and it will work or is there some other stuff i need to confirm im worried about buying the card and then cant refund it and it doesnt work on my pc. Thank you for taking the time to read and for you who answer.

Hi, Everybody! My Desktop details are as under:- 1) Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor (3 CPUs), ~3.2GHz 2) Motherboard: ASUS & M4A88TD-M EVO/USB3 3) Memory: 20480MB/ 20 GB RAM 4) SSD:- Samsung 850 PRO 256GB (Dedicatedly used only for running OS & Soft wares) 5) Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601) Service Pack 1 6) Present GPU:- Integrated On-Board Graphic Card (ATI Radeon HD 4250) 7) Expansion Slots Empty on Motherboard:- PCIe 2.0 X 16 Slot-1 No., PCIe 2.0 X 1 Slot-2 Nos. & PCI Slot-1 No. After lot of help from you all and my subsequent research, I have finalised to go ahead with the following for my Quad/ 4 Monitor Setup, 1) GPU:- AMD FirePro W4100 1 No. and 2) Monitors:- Dell UltraSharp U2415, 24”, 16:10 (1920x1200) 4 Nos. Links showing details for both the above products are given below, http://www.amd.com/en-us/products/graphics/workstation/firepro-3d/4100# http://www.amdfireprohub.com/onlineselector/en/next/downloads/11/W4100_Datasheet_EN.pdf http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/dell-u2415?c=in&cs=indhs1&l=en&s=dhs http://www.dell.com/support/home/in/en/indhs1/product-support/product/dell-u2415/manuals I will install the GPU in PCIe 2.0 X 16 Slot which is empty on my motherboard. As you can see W4100 has 4 Mini DisplayPort 1.2a Output, EACH capable of MST (Multi Stream Transport) and Dell U2415 has DisplayPort Input as well as DisplayPort Output with Daisy Chaining. Just wanted to make sure of the following before investing so much, 1) Will I be able to do a Quad/ 4 Monitor Setup with this GPU & Monitor on my above-referred system? 2) Will I be able to run each monitor at 1920x1200 resolution in Extended Display? 3) If “Yes” for 2 above, then, can I use ANY of the following options given below to achieve this, Option 1st:- Directly connect each monitor DP Input with each GPU Mini DP Output by a Mini-DP to DP Cable. Option 2nd:- Connect 1st Monitor DP Input with GPU Mini DP Output by a Mini-DP to DP Cable and Daisy Chain the 2nd Monitor and then Connect 3rd Monitor DP Input with GPU Mini DP Output by a Mini-DP to DP Cable and Daisy Chain the 4th Monitor. Option 3rd:- Connect 1st Monitor DP Input with GPU Mini DP Output by a Mini-DP to DP Cable and Daisy Chain the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Monitor. 4) Which of the above 3 Options will be best suited for my purpose? 5) Are there any other options besides the above 3 which can be used? 6) As far as my understanding goes for any of the above 3 options I will NOT have to buy any “Active” or “Passive” Adapters, correct? Any other valuable suggestions will be more than welcomed. Waiting for your confirmation. Thanks in advance! Warm Regards Lucky Strike

what is the most important things while we choosing graphic cards? are we focus on the vram? or other specifications? please someone recommend me some tips to know ideal gpus at least the cheapest and lowest required graphic cards to all games. from linus' malaysian newbie

My specs : mobo : asrock h170/pro4 hyper CPU : intel G4400 gpus: 6 x Gigabytes GTX 1070 psu: corsair 1500 watt OS : ubuntu desktop 16.04 notes: this is a mining rig. 5 GPUs connected to mobo through x1 pcie risers, 6th GPU connect to Mobo through M2 slot. Risers and gpus aren't the problem because for any combination of 4 out of 6 cards. System operates as expected. When all 6 cards are installed to mobo, lspci | grep -i vga reports all 6 cards with busID from 1 through 6, but only 4 are detected by nvidia-smi and operate. dmesg | grep -i nvidia reports this for the 2 cards not detected by smi (busID either 4 and 5, 5 and 6, or 4 and 6): NVRM: This PCI I/O region assigned to your NVIDIA device is invalid: So I thought my chipset doesn't have enough pcie lanes and the M2's x4 took all the lane, but when I look up in intel main page. Intel H170 chipset (my mobo's chipset) has 16 pcie lanes. My 5 gpus (x1), 2 of which use cpu's lanes (the x8 and x16 slot), so 3 + 4 (the M2 slot) = 7 lanes taken from chipset's 16 pcie lanes. Therefore, my mobo should be able to handle 6 gpus, right? How do I get it going??

Hello, I have two video cards. GTX 560 Ti and a GTX 1070 The problem is that my machine sees the GTX 560 as being primary, rather than the GTX 1070 one. I guess my question is.. does it matter? I see games running on the GTX 560 card. I want to make sure I get the best of the 1070 I see no options in BIOS to change them.. Any ideas?

Hello guys ! A friend of mine wants to build a new PC for 4K 3D with last high-end technologies. He also wants to do Blu-Ray encoding/decoding and wants the must powerfull CPU on market atm. So I prepared this PC : https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Cz3hhq But my problem is that I've no idea if the SLI of 1080 TI will support a monitor/TV with the nvidia 3D kit with 4K resolution. He also plans wants to be already equiped for the 8K 3D ( thourgh nvidia 3D kit also ). Same, I've no Idea if the SLI provides enough power to sustain it. Not sure if he will game with it, but I'm barelly sure he will not. Can someone there give me some tips for the graphic cards and the power they can deliver ? Thanks !

My current setup: i7-4770k on Asus Z87-A, 16GB HyperX DDR31600MHz RAM, 2x Asus R9-280x, Corsair CX750M PSU, 144Hz 1080p Asus VG248QE Hello, I am thinking about upgrading my setup a bit (as of now it drains a lot of power and heats up the room to not-pleasant levels). As of now I am also thinking about getting a second monitor (1080p 60Hz) for general purposes. Should I wait for RX Vega launch for prices to drop a bit? Was looking into GTX 1070 and GTX 1080 (current prices in my country: 1070 - 580$, 1080 - 705$). Will I get more FPS in current gen games compared to my crossfire setup? Looking at for example The Division, Witcher 3. I also play PUBG that runs kinda poorly (definitely not close to 144 FPS, crossfire not supported/working, so yeah).. To be fair as much as I trusted AMD in the past I am afraid I would prefer Nvidia at this moment (was hoping for Mantle to be a greater deal - grabbed one card when it launched, the second one a bit after at close to 50% price). And should I upgrade my PSU as well? As far as I know it is not exactly the greatest in the world.. I might even get GTX 1060 if you believe it might get me an FPS improvement over crossfire and close to 144 FPS in PUBG (current prices - 330$ 3GB VRAM, 400$ 6GB VRAM) Thanks in advance for the help
