So, I got grand theft auto IV from a humble bundle a while back. At the time, I was using a cheap laptop running win8.1, it would go past the games for windows live login stuff, but then it would load forever. I thought this might just be because of my computer's limitations... until I got the same error on my recently completed gaming rig. I don't know if the problem is with the game and win8.1, with the game, with steam, with my computer, with social club, or with games for windows live, but it will not work and I need help. Thanks Sorry this was badly written.

Hey everyone. So I recently purchased GTA V for the PC and it will not run on my computer. I have not tried the online mode, but the story mode lags so bad that it is unplayable. My computer is good enough that it should not be experiencing any problems; I even set the game's graphics settings to low and it is still lagging terribly. This is the only game I experience this on; my computer has been able to handle every other game on ultra graphics. I even reinstalled windows to see if it would help, but it didn't. Here are my computer's specs: GPU = R9295x2 MOBO = Asus rampage V extreme Proc = Intell core i7 5930k Haswell-6 core 3.5GHz Ram = 2800MHz 16gb corsair DDR4 1000w Corsair RM power supply. At first I thought that it might be because the ram speed is faster than my proc allows for. So I made sure to set the clock speed of the ram to 2133MHz, however this also did not help. Anyone have any idea of why only this game would be lagging for me? This has been super frustrating because the game looks really good. Thank you in advanced for your advice!!!

I wanted to buy the Imponte Dukes in GTA Online and according to the wiki, I can go to www.southernsanandreassuperautos.com in-game and buy it for $62,000. So I went to that website and it is not there. Does anyone know why this car is missing from the game?

Summary: Grand Theft Auto: V has been delayed by RockstarGames and has now been given a release date of March 24, 2015. In their NewsWire post RockstarGames said that "the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish". The company also stated that this is "never a decision we take lightly" however they do it when it is in the best interest of their customers. RockstarGames also touches upon the muliplayer experience stating that "GTA Online for PC, which will support up to 30 players, will launch alongside GTAV for PC" The company then goes on to thank everyone for understanding. RockstarGames then went on to provide some extra information about the game which can be found in the headings below. Personally I am thankful that RockstarGames came out and said that the game was delayed. Whilst I would have loved to play the game at the end of this month I would rather they released something optimized and that will run on my PC then the pre-alpha known as Assassins Creed Unity Ubisoft released last year. Ubisoft could take a few pages from RockstarGames and delay their games when they know there not ready. PC Specifications: Minimum specifications: OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS) Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz Memory: 4GB Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11) Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible HDD Space: 65GB DVD Drive Recommended specifications: OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1 Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs) Memory: 8GB Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible HDD Space: 65GB DVD Drive Screenshots: Finally RockstarGames presented us with some screenshots of Grand Theft Auto: V. According to NewsWire these screenshots are " in full 4K resolution" I have provided links below to each screenshot. I would have upload images however they do not comply with the MAX image file size of 2MB. http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/news/upload/pcvinewood_full.jpg http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/news/upload/pcfranklin_full.jpg http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/news/upload/pcmichael_full.jpg http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/news/upload/pctrevor_full.jpg http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/news/upload/pctree_full.jpg http://media.rockstargames.com/rockstargames/img/global/news/upload/pchighway_full.jpg Source: http://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/52374/gtav-pc-new-release-date-first-screens-and-system-specs Also covered by: http://kotaku.com/grand-theft-auto-v-delayed-on-pc-1679202713 http://www.gamespot.com/articles/gta-5-pc-release-date-delayed-again-first-screensh/1100-6424620/ http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2015/jan/13/grand-theft-auto-5-gta-v-pc-version-delayed-spring-2015 http://www.pcgamer.com/gta-5-pc-release-date-2/

I only have 8GB in total, (system specs in sig) and after running the game for only a few minutes the RAM usage maxes out at 5-6GB when i tab out of the game i only have a few hundred MB of ram left, so i cant multi-task with even just a browser open in the background Is this a memory leak or is this normal?

So personally I am looking forward to Assassin's Creed 4 the most right now, but GTA V looks excellent overall as well, it is a tough decision to be honest. What do you guys think? Please keep the discussion civil please and please do not start a war, I am personally going to buy both games.

So between the three new trailers for each of the three main characters on April 30, and the preview embargo lift on May 2, next week is shaping up to a great week for GTA V fans. Hi, I have been sitting on this information for many month now but I haven't done anything about it because i haven't cared about it and maybe you don't care either. If you own a Android phone which is rooted you always should download apps with caution and this is a very good example of that. If you now is one of the 100K-500K that have bought the GTA:SA on Android and have signed in on Social club, I recommend that you immediately sign out of Social club or uninstall the app. (Menu > Game > "Sign out of Social club" > type some random email and password and press sign in so the information disappears or uninstall the app) When you are signing in to Social club they will save your information (email and password) in plain text on the apps "shared preferences" even if you don't check the "Remember details" box. And you have a app that have root permission they can very easily extract the information and email it to themselves (That doesn't take a lot of code to do that). Path to the shared preferences: /data/data/com.rockstar.gtasa/prefs.xml

Hello everyone, I am having a big issue with my steam version of GTA IV, I have a recently built pc, a full spec list is on my profile, but the main things are that I have an HD 7950 with 3GB of VRAM. The issue is that ALL settings are stuck on low. It will not let me change them at all, and thne resolution is stuck on the lowest possible, but I have a 1080p monitor. It says that I'm using too much video RAM but it says 202/3072!! I've heard that you can fix it using a command line, however i've tried multiple times and that does not work. I believe it may have something to do with windows 8, because all tutorials I've seen are on 7 or below. I already had to make some changes with properties of the game just to get it to open in the first place. I set the compatibility setting to windows 7, I am wondering if anyone else has this problem and knows a fix. Also, now when I boot up GTA from steam, it won't even open and comes up with a seculauncher error 2000. I have no idea whats going on and the .txt files aren't working. Thanks to anyone who can help I am running amd beta 11.8 driver for reference btw.

@ Moderators; Didn't think this really belonged in the news section, feel free to move it though if you think it's necessary. An 8 year old boy apparently shot his grandmother after playing GTA 4... in the article that I will link below they of course talk about this, violent games making people violent. Do you think this statement is valid or do you, like me, think this only affects the weaker individuals out there, just like only certain people get addicted to weird stuff. I myself believe people should stop thinking games make people violent, as that's not the case, except for those few individuals. Discuss. According to a Sky report with an "accurately slanted view" which seems to leave a lot of key details out intentionally, the 90 year old woman was... slaughtered in Slaughter, Luisiana due to an "aggressive tendency" from an 8 year old boy after having played GTA IV. The boy himself states that he accidentally shot the woman after playing with a gun he spotted lying about. Police and therapists however believe it was an intentional, evil act committed as a result of playing a violent game. Here are a few quotes from child psychologist Kristopher Kaliebe: So with his logic, playing a game with guns is training for shooting real people, just like playing a football video game will make you win the real world cup single handedly and racing an F1 game makes you completely able to take down the likes of Vettel and Alonso. Since he's under the age of 10 the boy will not be charged with criminal responsibility and is under the care of his, extremely responsible parents. No mention was made in the article of why he actually had a loaded gun which he "spotted" at home, that is, of course, completely irrelevant, nor is the fact that his parents bought him a game which was rated M, completely not part of this agenda, it's all because of the video games which are obviously simulators used by people training to commit genocide. Source: http://www.cinemablend.com/games/8-Year-Boy-Shoots-Grandmother-Head-Playing-GTA-IV-58564.html I have nothing to add to this story other than I feel really sorry that a woman had to die because of terrible parenting and that the kid is still under their custody doesn't bode well for his upbringing.

I didn't see this posted in the forums yet so figured I should. It appears the child was playing an M rated game unsupervised and loaded firearms were kept out in the open. Link to article below: Do you think video games (in this case GTA) are to blame?

Hey guys, I have a quick question. Does anyone have any idea when GTA V will be released for the PC? I'm getting so tired of playing it at like 25fps on the 360. Are they adding any new features for the PC that's taking them longer than consoles?

Rockstar seems to have been open to criticisms from the community. For a very brief period of time. Upon the announcement of the delay the Rockstar website was flooded with complaints that were promptly removed and this has also carried on in the Steam community forums which Rockstar have been unable to stem the tide of. They did attempt to make one of their current threads a place where this discussion can be had and they immediately regretted it. http://steamcommunity.com/app/271590/discussions/0/617319461056079944/ Hopefully they see that people will not tolerate them delaying the game just because they want to release Heists on console first. This is not about bug fixing as if there were still that many game breaking bugs after years of development then it would simply mean the devs are incompetent and will never be able to release this game. It wouldn't take 2 months to "polish" and fix minor bugs internally.. EDIT: idk if true but someone on Steam forums presented this as a possible reason..
