Hi all, My GF is getting in to PC gaming (From console) - Rather than have her use my main rig she mostly uses my Alienware 17 R3 It has a 6700HQ and a GTX 965m.. So it's ok for many games, especially older ones at 1080p. But She'd like to start discovering newer titles that won't play well on such a low end GPU. My solution would be the Graphics amplifier as it would save me building her a new rig, all I need is the amp + GPU. Any GPU suggestions for 1080p gaming? At the moment 60hz is fine, but I'll dig out a 75hz monitor when I get a chance. Possibly upgrade to 144hz 1080p soon if she gets hooked. I was thinking of an RX 580 as they can still be bought new in the UK for under 200£. Second hand is not an option due to COVID otherwise I would have bought a 1070 and called it a day.. Any helpful suggestions welcome :)

Hi LTT Community! So a year ago, my brother got a £150/$200 PC from eBay, but was quite disappointed when games like CSGo weren’t running very playable, so I was wondering if you guys had any ideas for good graphics cards, personally I’m thinking about getting him a RTX 580 from Nvidia, or a RTX 1650, once again from Nvidia. Let me know what you guys think, I’m open to all suggestions!

So I have an AMD A4 laptop that I own and was wondering if I can use a external GPU with it to get better gaming performance when at my desk. And I want to be able to do this WITHOUT disassembly of my laptop. Thanks! And if I have to take apart my laptop I'll be like Links: My laptop: https://goo.gl/Wbbz9H

I feel like I've seen a video on this question on YouTube somewhere. Might even be Linus. But now I'm suddenly really interested in this question but can't come up with the right search terms to find the answer to my question. Also, it'd be a good idea for a video of LTT, if there isn't one already. Get the test rig, install TitanX No. 1, run Benchmarks, shut the system down for an hour, install No. 2, and so on. You know your stuff, LTT.

Saw a bunch of articles saying they're already listed online. And they are called polaris 20xtx for 580 and polaris 20 xl for 570.

Recently i've had some problems with my GPU drivers, and for a big amount of time, i wanted to upgrade my GPU cuz it was already so freakin' old. (Palit Nvidia Geforce GT620 2GB) In a nutshell i already knew that a R9 270X would be perfect but as a cheep-ling that i am, i saw that it needed 500W PSU (i saw a specific model with 3 fans) and i have a damned 400W PSU, so i've really didn't knew what to get. I have a pretty out-of-support CPU Core 2 Quad , so what can you recommend me buying, i have a little budget of 175$ for a GPU and those are literaly my B-Day money. I'll leave some choices, i will also say that i'm not buying in the US because i don't live there, but i do have close-people that live there and it will take somewhere 4 months to send it to me in Eastern Europe. (One time they had to ship me DDR2 ECC Memory, which is really rare here, and they bought it in October and got to me in early February) Sapphire NITRO Radeon RX 460 4GB DDR5- 169$ ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1050 OC Edition- 163$ Asus Radeon R9 280X 3072Mb- 134$ EVGA GeForce GTX 950 SC+ GAMING ACX 2.0- 129$ (also at the same price there is ASUS GeForce GTX 950, STRIX-GTX950-DC2OC-2GD5-GAMING) Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4Gb 128bit (ONE FAN MODEL)- 147$ I am waiting for your responses, bye!

Alright, so I'm hopefully going to replace my cpu in the near future (fingers crossed for the 1600x). Since I'm currently running a i7-4790k I'm going to have to get a new motherboard and ram. With this in mind I figured I could take these old components and put together a second system dedicated to VR. That way my brother can play on my Vive without occupying my PC. However, I will of course need a gpu to complete the system (and a few other things I know). What GPU would you guys recommend? I'm considering the cheaper options like mabye a 1060 or 480, perhaps a 1070 is more worth the money for VR though? If you have any personal experiences playing vr titles with either the 1060 or the 480, Id love to hear how the quality of the vr fared for you. Thanks in advance and may the_Linus be with you always.

I'm thinking of upgrading my PC (specs below). I bought an SLI-compatible motherboard when planning this build for the option of SLI in the future but looking at the state of SLI now I'm wondering if it would be worth it. Do you guys think should get another 970 or buy a whole new GPU? If the latter, any recommendations? I intend to be playing on 1440p, mainly triple-A titles and some overwatch. Specs: CPU: Intel i7-4790k CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo RAM: 16GB Kingston HyperX Fury Motherboard: Gigabyte Z97X-SLI GPU: Asus Strix GTX 970 Case: Corsair Carbide 100R PSU: Corsair RM1000 (Overpowered, I know. Only found out you didn't need that much power after buying)

Can I use dual gtx 1080s on 3 monitors?

I am on the verge of desperation to play Mirror's Edge Catalyst at this point. I have tried as far as I know all in game options for configuration and still there is a mysterious and unplayable amount of frame skipping. Is this Origin game host services, hardware incompatibility, settings that are hard to find, or is this game just meant to be unplayable as a challenge? Someone please give me some kind of a good hint about how to solve this and make the game run smoothly even if it looks crappy.

I changed out the HDMI cable going to my main monitor today because my dog chewed through the old one. So after doing this I boot up and play some Overwatch, and it feels super choppy and terrible. I'm getting 100+ FPS, but something is really wrong. Tried a couple other games, same thing. Checked Nvidia Control Panel and everything seems fine, so next I try a reboot. That doesn't initially fix the issue, but then I look in Nvidia Control Panel again... and my display is set to 30HZ! I KNEW IT! I am 100% sure that it said 60Hz before that reboot. Changed the setting back to 60 and now everything's fine again. So yeah, PSA: Apparently swapping out an HDMI cable can swap you to 30Hz, and Nvidia Control Panel will lie about it.

I have a friend who is selling PowerColor RX 460 2gb (here's the card on Newegg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA25V58C6536&cm_re=powercolor_radeon_rx_460-_-9SIA25V58C6536-_-Product) but I don't intend to use it. Should I buy it to resell it for a better price because of the rise in the use of RX cards for mining? How much could I get away with selling it for?

Hi, I am looking to do a bit of upgrading of my PC that I built earlier in the year. This is it : https://au.pcpartpicker.com/user/tassmeister/saved/GYxH...I am thinking of maybe getting an i5, or a cpu cooler or both? (is a cpu cooler necessary for an i3)I also only have a 1600x900 monitor and want to buy a 1080p monitor though am not sure when I should do that.Dont have the biggest budget as I am a student but I will save up i guess.Basically just looking for your opinions on the build. Also the games that I play are Watch Dogs, Rust, and The Forest. ( they all run perfectly fine atm, not on the highest settings though)Thanks in advance

PLEASE IGNORE THE EXPLANATION OF WHY I DISAGREE LINUS ABOUT THE LOW-END VIDEO CARD RANT. If you guys already watch Linus's video about the GT 730/R7 240 Rant. Then ill be like... "I SOMEWHAT DISAGREE WITH HIM!". And there are numerous reasons why i disagree with him. one of them it's because the Nvidia Geforce 210 is obsolete. I mean it's fine to buy the 2nd hand GeForce 210 for lower price but i know some people cannot thrust the 2nd hand Video Card (maybe it's damaged by overclocking it.), Another reason is that how much resolution does it support. If you guys want to have a 1440p or 4k Dual or Triple monitor setup. Then DON'T buy that GPU (because it cannot support those resolution). i much prefer buying HD 4350, GT 610 or a GT 730, 3rd reason is that there are some people who are just looking a video card that can only play popular basic games such as : Minecraft, CS : GO and Dota 2 which that doesn't use much GPU power. GT 730 can run those games fine at high settings but the GeForce 210 is not, Final Reason is the location of where you lived. If your computer store has only the video cards that the Tech Tubers think it's shit (like Kyle against the GT 610 and Linus against the GT 730). You don't have a choice other than buying it or buying it from E-Bay or Amazon. But the problem is the Taxes, Fees and Shipment Cost. Where i come from the Shipping Cost more than 20+ USD if i want to buy something in Amazon. Making the Price on the GeForce 210 around 50+ USD and the GT 730 if you want to buy to the nearest computer store is like few bucks more expensive but it have some short and long term differences. One is that you don't need to wait for the Delivery to arrive, Another one is that there are no additional taxes, fees nor shipment cost. And the final one is that it's around 50% - 80% better than the Geforce 210 making it suitable for basic games such as Minecraft, CS:GO, or Dota 2. You also asking... If they want to play games. They should buy higher end video cards. but for me i found that Tip worthless... Unless... they want to play games that are Graphic Intensive ones like Battlefield 1, Ark : Survival Evolved, Witcher 3 or/and much more. But if they only want to play Basic games then they should NOT buy the High-End Video cards since there's a diminishing return on the fps. Hope you guys understand that . But if they don't want to play anything and only want to do Multitasking. Then buy HD 4350 not GeForce 210 because it's the same price with better features. ANY WAYS LETS START THE DISCUSSION ABOUT THE DISPLAY ADAPTER... If you guys want to have a Dual or a Multiple monitor setup but you don't have a Appropriate Ports for it. then here's what you gonna do. THIS ONLY WORKED IF YOU HAVE AN OLD VIDEO CARD SITTING AROUND AND A MOTHERBOARD THAT HAS 2 OR MORE PCI x16 SLOT. 1. Install the Old Video Card into the 2nd PCI x16 Slot. Do not panic if you have a Different Video card on the First PCI Slot. it's fine (This is like PhysX Configuration) 2.Lets Configure the Monitor Ports. If you want to play games for only 1 Monitor then put that Port into the Strong GPU. (ex. Main Monitor to GTX 970) 3.Put the Secondary (And Tertiary) Monitor into the Low End GPU (ex Secondary Monitor to GT 730). 4.Open the Computer. And Open the Nvidia Control Panel (IDK with the AMD GPU thou) 5.Be Sure the Configuration looks like this : NOTE : 2 Monitors are in the GTX 970 GPU because i sometimes play with my friends with both monitors. 6. Be sure to set the PhysX to the Strong GPU. Not the Low End one. Pros : *You now have appropriate Ports for your monitor. *This Usually not going to affect the performance of the game since this is not PhysX. *Looks better from the Aesthetics of the PC. (if you're Low-End video card looks dope and not look just the PCB and small heat sink.) Cons : *More Power Consumption. *Temps are slightly increasing. *Some Space from the PCI parts are Being Occupied. Any Questions and i will answer them

Hey guys, is it worth around € 50,- more to buy the ASUS GeForce RTX 2080 DUAL OC EVO when it comes to performance ? its for gaming when choosing between these 2 GPU's : MSI RTX 2070 SUPER GAMING X € 649,- ASUS RTX 2080 DUAL OC EVO € 689,- the rest of my pc build is pretty up to date, ryzen 7, 32gb ddr4, hx850 psu, corsair platinum h115i AIO cooler etc. ps: with all due respect, i'm not asking about an AMD 5700 xt or any other card for that matter, since to many people love to deviate from the simple question about comparing 2 cards. so no, i don't want to pay 100/200 euros more & go for a 2080ti, or wait for an third party 5700 xt, or just because my budget is € 689,- should go for a € 800,- this or that. i am However, looking for the most silent gpu since my Build has an open case! Thankyou in Advance..
