I'm looking for alternatives to MSI Afterburner that can set fan profiles. Not interested in Sapphire or ASUS software, and EVGA's Precision is based on NVIDIA cards only. I recall coming across some premium software in the past too and wouldn't mind buying something with actual support from competent programmers as an option, if anyone knows the one I'm talking about. It might have been Everest/Aida64 but that doesn't seem to have it. Idk the full capabilities/usability of Speedfan. Would appreciate any help.

A friend (who can't spend any money) needs a new GPU and I still have my old ASUS GTX 970 STRIX with a broken cooler lying around. I'd buy this cooler https://www.arctic.ac/ch_de/accelero-twin-turbo-ii.html, but I'm not sure if it will fit. The current heat sink has 4 screw nuts attached so that the screws can actually reach up to it. The new cooler looks like the holes for the screws are on a flat plate so I'm concerned that it won't fit nicely or not at all. Can anyone recommend me a cooler that will definitely fit? I'd like it to be 80 USD or less since I'm giving it away for free. Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have recently removed all my fans, including my CPU fan and inserted a Cryorig R1 Ultimate to take on the load of the whole PC. The whole PC seems to be cool @ 20-30 Degrees, but the GPU is usually @ 50 Degrees Idle and @ 60-70 Degrees while gaming. Is it safe to say I am having enough cooling or do I have to adjust something? Any remarks and feedback appreciated.

I understand that axial fans can keep a card cooler and quieter whilst achieving higher clock speeds, but the axial fans used on cards like strix and windforce cards are massive in terms of width and height, and there are always 2 or 3 instead of just 1 so it isn't really fair. I am wondering why companies don't make a massive thick heatsink graphics card like the ROG Strix 2080 ti and instead of 3 axial fans, put one massive (or 2/3 massive) centrifugal fans on it to offer the advantage that centrifugal fans have of much higher static pressure. The noise of larger fans is generally less because they run at a lower RPM, the heat will be exhausted out the case, it seems like a win-win situation! Is there something I am overlooking? I would love to see a card like the Strix 970 have 2 centrifugal fans on it as it would look pretty awesome and wouldn't cook the insides of many small cases with poor airflow. Hey! I hope there's someone who can help me out. Bought Aorus RTX2080 Super, RGB is not crucial to me tho... I'm more interested in low temps and low noise levels, so I decided to upgrade cooling with Accelero Xtreme IV. Did the same thing to my old GTX1070 and it worked great. However this beast has 5 connectors in total, I marked them all in the pic. Originally, connectors 1,2,3 and 5 were used. 1&2 are 3-pin, 3&5 are 12-pin and 4 is 4-pin (this one wasn't used). Accelero has a standard 4 pin PWM connector, however, if I plug it into that 4-pin connector on RTX, fans are throttling at 100%, not immediately when I turn the PC on but as soon as I log in to Win10. I checked MSI Afterburner but it does nothing, not able to adjust it at all. Is there a solution to this issue? Any help will be much appreciated!

I just bought inno3d rtx 2060 super twin x2 last week, but i just found out about the ugly side of this card today, 1. static noise type coil whine on 3d works 2. sudden speed gpu fan when starting on fan from 0 rpm unnecessarily to 2500-3000 rpm first then slowing down to target rpm 3. this card is hot af 4.60% fan speed / 2200 rpm equals ears r*pe so my question is, is it normal? if it is, does changing fan curve to stay at least 5-10% will help my problem and still prolong the life of my gpu or it will decrease it? thank you here it is my current fan curve, please let me know you have better config ^^

so my zotac 1060 6gb amp's fan started to rattle harder than nicki minaj twerking. i replace it with a 90mm fan from a broken asus r9 280 (the fan is fine but the vram is not) through some zip ties n screws right in between the fins as the 90 mm fan is too big for the shroud so its just two fans zipped on the heatsink. however, it appears to me that its temperature is not as good. the gpu always hitting the thermal limit whenever it tries to boost up to 19xx mhz clock. so is there any sugesstion on what i can do to fix this? do i need a proper shroud to make it not thermal throtling?

I'm not looking for advice or anything. It's just time to get a new one. I just wanted a shoulder to cry on. I woke up today to find that the GPU fan was spinning at 100% and making a noise like a chainsaw. I've been playing Arkham Asylum all week and I guess that was just too much. I'm going to try getting some more time by cleaning everything but I guess I'm in the market for a replacement now. Everybody fly your screen savers at half-mast tomorrow for this little evga that lost it's life in the line of duty.

so, i have a problem. My gpu has been working fine and the fans have been obedient and good untill now. One of the GPU's fans sometimes turns on or off by it's own mind and will, i have set it so that the fans only go on when my gpu feels a certain temperature, and one of them is acting like a nugget. This fan is really loud, and i lose my concentration easily. If someone has a way to fix it, please help me do so.. I dont want to lose like 50% of my time just wondering around with my GPU's setting software, and when it turns on i dont want my relief to get blown off when the fan starts to spin again. I've been having an issue with my New GTX 1660 TI Ventus XS 6G OC and well the fans wont stop on idle and continue to run at 1540 rpm's I tried using After Burner to no avail of controlling the fan speed I even updated the driver as well as reinstall the drivers and flashed its vbios and still spinning and its driving me crazy I even re-seated the GPU, could it be the board its a Stinger H370 mini ITX. if you have any ideas what i could do let me know please should I triy another vbios make profile related to the 1660 ti can that work?

I have a GTX980 msi gaming card that has the front fan that wont go above 500rpm during load. Current temps while full load is at 90 degrees with the front fan spinning up and down from 0-500 rpm ( measured in msi afterburner). Previous temps were never above 80 degrees and fans were spinning at 1000+ RPM. Should I buy replacement fans or zip tie 2 120mm noctua fans to heatsink after removing the plastic shrouds and old fans ? The 120mm fans will be connected to a Lamptron FC5 Fan controller and probs leave the fans running at 80-90% most of the time( not worried about noise). Also would like to know results if anyone has attempted the dual 120mm fan zip tie mod on a MSI gaming card. THX

Hello, I am wondering if setting the gpu fan to 100% ONLY while gaming is a good idea to regulate temperature ( will set back to auto when browsing or idle ). I have a GALAX 1060 6gb, mostly play witcher 3 and PUBG, my temp ranges from 72-78 while the fan is on auto. Any reply is very appreciated!

Hello, So after installing a new motherboard and CPU and booting fine I then cut a ziptie and accidentally put my hand in the fan and a whole piece broke off, I am unable to send to ASUS as I dont have the serial code as i purchased a custom prebuild from Dinopc and my warranty is now over, can someone please help with what to do concerning buying a replacment fan or a repair shop located in the South East Uk thanks

Here is a recent problem I've been having with my PC.When doing anything demanding, such as playing a game, my computer will do 1 of 2 things:1. The screen will lose connection to the computer, yet it would sound like everything else is operating fine, for example I was in the middle of a Teamspeak session with a friend, and I was still able to talk to him despite the monitor turning off (had to restart to make it work again)2. The computer will act as if it has been turned off, everything stops and the fans speed up to an extremely high speed and will remain this way until I force shut it down.To add some clarity I will say this:I've noticed a few anomalies with my PC running up to this point. Here I will list them:1. Sometimes my HDD will not be registered on my system upon starting it up (only my SSD appears under "My PC") restarting my computer seems to be the only fix to that one.2. My headphones which are plugged into the USB connected to the motherboard will sometimes transmit an awfully distorted signal of sound, like anything that plays through them is going through a horrific filter. This happens randomly, and restarting occasionally fixes this.3. When I was deleting files from my HDD the other day, everything froze apart from the folder document I was in, and a message popped up saying that "Windows has stopped responding" and my entire desktop had dissipated, it was just my one folder and black space behind it. Restarting was the only cure.So I can't help but suspect this has something to do with my HDD, or perhaps it's my power supply shorting out. I am unsure.Can anyone help specify the cause to these problems?

Hello, So I run x2 ZOTAC GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB AMP! Extreme in Sli mode on a ASUS Z170-A motherboard. I didn't know a lot about this stuff until I had already bought the motherboard, but there are only 2 pci express slots, and this specific 980 ti model is a huge, huge card. Takes up 2 slots, so these cards are on top of each other, now I know for the next time to buy a motherboard that has more slots so I can split them out, as I know and have read that will reduce temps by a great amount. Anyways, I won't be buying a new motherboard anytime soon since I just got this one a couple months ago, the top card always gets hotter then the bottom, at around 87c max in some demanding games, usually under 70c in older 2015 and older games. The bottom card I have never seen go above 75c. I have a Cooler Master HAF X - High Air Flow Full Tower Case with ALL fans. I bought the extra top fan as it didn't come with that one. I game at 1920x1080 and cap my game to 59 fps to avoid even more overheating as I play with vsync and capped to 59 to reduce input lag (don't judge me). They all run at the max, and even with the top card at 100% fan speed it keeps it under 85c from what I have seen. I just have 3 questions. 1. Is 100% fan speeds for long periods of times (gaming) bad for the fans or the card? Will it "die" out quicker? 2. Are those temps "bad" in the case that it could damage the card or make it not last as long? 3. Is there anything I can do to maybe decrease the temps in or around the case? *(Other then getting a new motherboard with more slots for spacing as I don't have the money for it) Here is my case if anybody has questions what I can do to help that are not complicated, I'm kinda new to this:http://www.coolermaster.com/case/full-tower/haf-x/ My CPU is watercooled so I never need to worry about it going over, just the gpu(s) are what I am worried about. My gpu fans rattle when they are spinning, but the weird thing is that it is only at a certain speed (around 40). Ie, if I put my fan speed at 50, I can't hear it anymore, but I'm still afraid that my fans will be damaged. Is there a way to fix this?

My older brother bought a EVGA GTX 970 FTW edition for my brother since he had the money. I installed it for him since he knows little to nothing about building computers. Once I downloaded the latest drivers and whatnot I ran a stress test (Kombustor & 3D Mark) on it to see how it performed while having AfterBurner open. But when running Kombustor I saw that the temps were extremely high @ 90 degrees Celsius. During the stress test, I looked at the Graphics card to see that one of the fans were not spinning. And I do know about the fans not spinning up until 60 celsius, but it still wasn't spinning even after it hit that temp. Are there any solutions I can try before having to RMA it? Thanks.

I have a problem with my graphics card fan. The fan seems to be spinning backwards and the fan speed never goes above 30% even when its over 72c. GPU-z also shows no rpm indication so its gotta be backwards. Its spinning counter clockwise. My gpu is: AMD Radeon 4670 HIS dual slot cooler 512mb. I think this happened when I upgraded from a Biostar a760 m2+ motherboard with AMD Athlon 5000+ cpu to an HP motherboard with AMD Phenom x4 9550 cpu. Also I bought a brand new Thermaltek TR2 600w psu. Could someone please help me? thanks in advance.

Hello, I have a video card in my current PC(My first PC that I built on my own). It is the AMD Radeon HD 4850 by Asus. The problem I am having is that it is way too loud for me when I am only at idle. I have tried turning down the fan because the GPU says it is plenty cool, but it does not go below 20%. The only time it gets higher than 20% is when I play games like Assassins Creed or Far Cry. I was wondering if there is either something wrong with my card's heat-sink or fan, or if I could find a quieter heat-sink/fan. I have the default heat-sink on at the moment.
