Hi, I've been getting spam messages in my Gmail that don't let me unsubscribe. These emails don't have any text in them they only have a picture (not attachments just straight up picture). I can see those picture's only on my phone. When I open the mail on my PC, I get nothing. Right Now I don't have any pictures or video of the mails. Because I've been deleting them and I got the idea of asking help here only after deleting them. I'm sure those emails will come again. So, when they do come. I'll add the pictures. But I do have a picture of a filter I created to auto delete these emails. I contacted google about this but the rep told me to report these emails. What this spammers have been doing is. They have taken my mail ID. Lets say john.doe69@gmail.com is my mail ID. They send mail to john.doe69NK@aol.com, john.doe69aw@aol.com and more. Since john.doe69 is the main thing all of those spam messages come to me. Essentially these pictures have fake unsubscribe options in them but clicking on them redirects to 1xbet or some sketchy site hell once it redirected me to google.com All of this spam messages have one thing in common. They all come from accounts having the words aol.com, winkerstar.net and asahi.com in their sent from addresses. I will add the pictures. When I get them again. If anyone has gone through this in the past please help me. If anyone from LMG have look into this and help. Maybe we can put a end to this kinda crap in gmail. Thank You

Hi all. Does anyone know how to stop this Google boo hoo we can't track you bullshite? Everyday several times when I open my browser and search I have to do a damn recaptcha I'm guessing because I'm behind a VPN and they don't like it. Short of not using the VPN (not an option I want to stay behind it) how do I stop all the recaptcha garbage?

I got my pixel 5a in October of 2021 after watching Riley's review of the phone on short circuit and off the bat it was miles ahead of the s8 I was using at the time. It worked great for about 8 months when they first BSOD occurred. I went to a youbreakifix and the first screen I get is a dud with multiple dead spots that only show up when you press directly on them and not when you swipe along them. I finely get a working screen and think nothing of it. Fast forward to March 2023. Im going to go check the price of something on ebay and my phone freezes up, so like what i usually do when something doesnt work i try to turn it off and on again. I try charging it, nothing. I try letting it discharge, nothing. So I reluctantly call up google support again angry that I got another BSOD and they say go to youbreakifix and they can fix it. I go to youbreakifix they tell me go ask google what do next, google say go back youbreakifix cause they can solve the BSOD. youbreakifix says they cant and go back to google and getting my problem raised to a high level repair tech they say that they will fix my phone, at no cost to me. I breathe a sigh of relief thinking this whole situation was over. NOPE. What followed was around 4 weeks of getting sent from rep to rep each saying contradicting things about if the repair was covered under warranty. In the end they basicly said we dont care more than half the reps and both of the repair tech's said if you want a working 5a send is $350 for a used one and that's the best we can offer you. So now i just have my Pixel 5a sitting in the carbord box google sent me to send it to them. I had heard that it possible fix what I assume is the real problem which is software causing phones that where improperly QCed to crack the solder balls of the cpu but im not sure it would even be worth the hassle. I was thinking of buying the pixel 7a a few months ago but after all the contradictions and rugpulls that google customer support threw on my im not even sure if its worth the hassle.

I have seen in several videos that LTT members use google docs. What advantage do they have? I personally only used google docs for school, for my other chores I prefer to use onlyoffice (also libreoffice) or since I go to university I've been using the office package for free as a student. In my opinion google docs is useful for those who have to make several people work on the same document, thanks to the functionality of the drive, but when I was studying it was inconvenient for me to have an internet connection in order to access all the documents. What do you think? Have they ever explained why they use google workspace? Also, if I don't remember well or I dreamed it, tell me

Summary Jon Prosser leaked once again all the details of an upcoming smartphone release by Google in a video posted on Front Page Tech YouTube channel. This time it's about the upcoming Google Pixel Fold, which is of course Google's first foldable smartphone. 256GB $1799 512GB $1919 April 26th Pixel Fold Teaser May 10th Pre-Order (Google Store only) May 30th Pre-Order (Carriers) June 27th Available When pre-ordering a Fold Google will also send you a Pixel Watch Specs Quotes My thoughts The Google Pixel Fold "leaked" entirely. Who saw that coming? I want one, but it's simply too expensive. Usually I'd be the first one to pre-order this thing, but not at that price, even with the included Pixel Watch. Compared to this my Pixel 7 Pro looks cheap lol Also one thing is weird about this. Why does it apparently only record at 4K 30? The Pixel 7 Pro can do 4K 60. Sources

I tried a free trial on google cloud for VPS a year ago but terms and conditions are vague and what happens is that if you don't use your free credits (300 USD) it will charge your account with the amount you didn't use but if you use all amount of money it will charge you anyway. I got ripped off with 150+ usd by google for not using all the money, I'm from romania so 150+ usd means 670+ ron and maybe if I wasn't living in a poor country that 150 usd won't mean that much. The point of this post is because I saw google is trying to push google cloud in every aspects that points to developers like reCaptcha, google search api, console and more. Please if anyone from LTT reads this make a video about it, let people know so they don't have to get thru this. I'm not sure what google intensions are but not good that's for sure.

So what's the better buy for new flagship? Oneplus and honor both good whit new snapdragon 8 gen 2, pixel slower, but cheaper than both of them(pixel 8, who knows) Not very interested in camera performance, nor gaming. Don't really need wireless charging, but fast charging is + Looking for good battery life and future support. Don't know the pricing on Honor yet, but it will be around 1100 euros in my region. Oneplus 11 currently is 950 euros Pixel 7 pro 850 Pixel 8/8 pro(who knows) Currently using mi 11 ultra, but whit every update that comes to it, I get less and less battery life, yeah it has fast wired and wireless charging, but it's annoying, currently(when writing this post) I'm on vecation and I can't even use phone for whole day, whitout needing to charge it one more time(doing full charge every morning). Doing 1080p, 60 Hz, battery saver on. My gf has S23 ultra, and she can easily do all day(maps, internet, social) whit even battery left when we are back at hotel(around 8-10 hrs), don't offer me s23 ultra, don't like samsung ui Tnx for help

Google bard is interesting, finally rolling out and able to be used by more and more people. Google bard is not based off of chat gpt and is quite interesting because it uses your past conversation to provide an answer and can hold a conversation quite well

Hey LTT peeps, I don't know about you all, but I'm kinda angry the whole AI chatbot search situation. It seems like Google and Microsoft are pouring all their resources into making AI buddies who can answer questions for us when, in my opinion, they should be doubling down on their search engines. Am I the only one who feels like search engines are still pretty hit or miss? Sometimes, I'll type in a search query and I'll still get a whole bunch of irrelevant results just because a few keywords matched. I mean, c'mon, we're in 2023! Wouldn't it be amazing if Google (or Bing, for that matter) could actually understand what we're looking for when we type in a search prompt? Imagine if the search engine could read websites and only give us the results that are super relevant to our query. That's the dream, right? Not only would this be awesome for users like us, but it could actually be a huge win for Microsoft and Google, advertisers, and websites. By providing a better search experience, they'd keep users coming back, which in turn means more eyeballs on their ads. That's a win-win situation if I've ever seen one. Plus, with more relevant search results, businesses who advertise on their platforms would see better conversions, making them even more likely to continue investing in ads. Now, let's talk about the current way Bing works. It searches the web and only gives you an answer, without showing ads on its results page. This has some negative implications. Websites face problems because AIs are reading their content, using up traffic, and using the knowledge on the site, but there's no actual human traffic. That means nobody is seeing their ads or interacting with the website in any meaningful way. By focusing on improving search engines, Microsoft and Google could address these issues, leading to a healthier internet ecosystem overall. It's a win-win-win! So yeah, my point is that I think Microsoft and Google need to go back to their roots and focus on making their search engines truly great. Chatbots are cool and all, but they won't make our lives much easier if we still have to wade through a sea of irrelevant search results to find what we're looking for. Plus, it's a smart business move that benefits everyone involved! What do you guys think? Are you happy with the current state of search engines, or are you with me in wishing for some serious improvements? Let's get a discussion going! Cheers!

Google seems to be interested in growing a stronger connection between Android and Windows, but only as long as user's are tied to Google's technology. Now they have launched a beta for Nearby Share on Windows. Nearby Share is Google's own proprietary file sharing technology, which has already been available to Android Users since Android 11. The beta requires you to download an additional application and install it on your Windows PC. Screenshots My thoughts Yet another app for a functionality that both OS' already support. Windows has "Nearby Sharing" literally built in. Why is it not possible that Microsoft's technology works with Google's? Clearly both companies are interested in working together, as Microsoft has released the "Phone-Link for Windows" app a few years ago, which does not only help you to send files between Android and Windows devices, but also makes you able to make calls on your Windows device. Microsoft also decided to advertise Phone Link directly in the setup process of Windows 11. They clearly want a tighter integration of Android within Windows. And Google? It's great that they launched this beta and the app does work really well, but where is the integration with Chrome? Chrome has already functionality built in to send and receive website links to and from Android devices. To me it looks like neither Microsoft nor Google are interested in sacrificing their own technology to each other in favor of a better user experience. Can Linus please scream into the camera on WAN show for a minute and smash his phone onto the table as he always does? Makes me at least feel better seeing him being just as mad as I am about this crap. I'm trying to login on my PC. I know my username and password for my google account, and I know I'm typing it in correctly. I'm looking at Recent Security Activity on my phone, and it isn't showing that I'm trying to login on my computer. It will send me 2FA prompts on my phone that I tap yes on, and nothing happens. "resend code" stays greyed out, and clicking "try another way" does nothing, doesn't change anything on the screen. But other things will show up in recent activity, for example, I never actually verified email B as a recovery email for email A, so I did that, and then "Verified Recovery Email 7:02PM" showed up in the recent activity box. I also went back to the original login page and hit "Forgot password" where it brings me to a screen with 3 options to verify identity, Tap yes on phone, get a text, or try another way. Clicking on any of them only highlights the choice and doesn't move forward to the next step. I can't seem to find any threads anywhere of someone with a similar issue. I've tried different gmail accounts, as well as Chrome, Firefox, AND Edge. At this point I'm thinking it might be something going on at Google and I just need to wait? Any tips?

Mac no longer can get to Google using Chrome, specifically.
Catt0s posted a topic in Troubleshooting
(I would appreciate the absence of 'Why are you using Mac/Chrome/etc.' ) I have a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015) running MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 (18G9028). I just replaced the battery. Everything seems to be going well, except SPECIFICALLY, I cannot get to ANY Google services, Specifically when using Chrome. I can connect just fine in Safari, but well, Safari. I am running Version 112.0.5598.0 (Official Build) canary (x86_64), and tried using the public build. I also tried going onto different networks, re-installing network certificates, switching time servers, changing DNS, using a VPN, killing mDNS, and more. I can get to any website that doesn't use Google services, mostly, they load a bit slower than normal, but the whole system seems a bit slow. Occasionally, Google will load, so I will try to sign in, and run into the issue again. (times out and the lock icon says not secure.) Interestingly, using incognito makes it work consistently, but there isn't much use logging in when using it. I tried disabling extensions and such and using other profiles too. This is driving me crazy, I need for this computer to work so I can work on schoolwork. Other notes: - No, nothing is happening in the network pane of dev tools. -
This video shows comparison of two events. One from Microsoft a d one Google about AI integration in Bing and Google. Microsoft's integration with AI in Bing which I believe is using Chatgpt but will be a more advanced version upon release. Google created their own AI. Seems Microsoft is doing better at this stage. Who will pull ahead and what features looked great for you? https://youtu.be/5X1O5AS4nTc

Heyo friends, My partner recently had an interesting thing happen to his youtube queue. Some backstory, we chromecast most content we watch to our TV, so he got us a premium subscription so we don't have to see anymore of that weird silent safeway ad. It's been working great, no Ads as promised until we came across an Ad invading his queue BEFORE the video he added(in the following screenshot he removed the next video as it was city specific). I chalked it up to a bug, but it happened again and again so he had a chat with support. Turns out this is TOTALLY NOT AN AD According to youtube, but a super viral video they thought we had to see right now! How exciting! Now this is kinda frigged, 14$ for an ad free* experience. The kicker is that his youtube algorithm is very much not tech related (unlike mine) Does anyone have any thoughts or advice? I kinda super want to not see ad's on my TV, but still support creators. chat attached

Summary The United States Department of Justice, along with the attorneys general of New Jersey, California, Colorado, Connecticut, New York, Rhode Island and Virginia are suing Google for violating the Sherman Antitrust Act in regards to its ad business. The suit alleges Google deliberately sought out a dfominant position in every facet of digital advertising in order to manipulate the market, increasing their profits while also increasing the costs for advertisers and decreasinmg the revenue earned by content creators. Some news reports say that if the federal government is succesful in the suit, Google could be broken up. They've also taken the unusual step of seeking Google pay them back three times what the government has spent on advertising on Google. This is also the second time Google has been sued for antitrust violations -- in 2020 the DOJ under the Trump Administration filed suit regarding Google's search business. Quotes My thoughts I'm old enough to remember when Microsoft was on the verge of being broken up by DOJ because of Internet Explorer. I never saw much point in that -- there was genuine consumer demand for a package web browser. Microsoft's tactics that led them to become so dominant in business would have been more fruitful. I'm so used to a Googled internet that I'm not sure what to think about the possibility of not having one for the first time since the early 2000s. In many ways the "mature" internet is only possible because of these big tech companies so that we can all gather on Facebook or Twitter or whatever. One thing I will note is though the stories I read talking about the DOJ wanting to break up Google, the press release did not mention it. Sources Ars Technica CNBC DOJ

What the heck google, i'm not buying a subscription or registering in order to read the news article, why are you removing my ability to block those sites from my feed? Did they change the UI or did they just outright remove the option that used to be 'don't see content from this source' ? I find this extremely outrageous enough that despite previously liking this application I'm ready to remove it all together. The ability to curate the new sources to those that aren't completely ads or demand you subscribe so they can send you ads it the main reason i used this application.

i have a samsung phone and had factory reset it a long time ago. i wanted to access it today and went through the setup. when i got to the FRP lock part, i entered my google account that was used previously on the device. it gave me an error saying somthing went wrong try again. i remembered that i had removed the device from my list of devices on googles account management page. what should i do?

First of all, let me clear a few things. I never sign in to Gmail yet alone my google account to any other device expect my one, which is not publicly accessible meaning people are unable to use my computer without me knowing. When I go to security sessions on google there are no recent signs ins, the only thing in that section is the 2 factor authentication i put on my account a few days ago. As for the current session section the only device there is mine and it says I'm logged in with 1 session running presumably mine i guess. It also says I use no other sites or apps that i use google to log in with and also no linked accounts associated with my google as well. In the screenshot provided shows the concurrent session which is referring to the other device, you can see it comes from an unknown access type but has the same IP and location as me. I want to reiterate I only use this device to sign into my google account and gmail, this is further proven by the fact that google says I only have one session open on this device in google security settings. Also we can see all the logins from me and the unknown acesss share the same IP and location. Sometimes the unknown logs into the gmail in the exact same time I do indicated by the date and time section. Help me figure this out please. Thank you kindly. Like the title says it just pops out if you press down on the bottom edge of the bar, which I discovered by just sliding my finger down the bar to lower the volume like normal. I feel like for 900 dollars it should at least stay together. Luckily it goes back in.

Hello everyone, I have decided to get a home ai for my parents (definitely not techy). I looked and seemed it's gonna be between Amazon's Alexa systems or Google's Home Assistant. We do have a Samsung smart TV, so I would want the Ai to be able to control the TV without needing extra devices to allow that. I am unsure if this is correct area to post, so mods feel free to move my post to the right area. Which eco system, or speaker would you guys recommend as an entry device into the Home Ai? (Google or Alexa). I know about the Apple Home, but it's out of my christmas budget range and appears to be harder to obtain

Summary Google Fiber to rollout 5Gbps and 8Gbps plans in early 2023 in select markets. Quotes My thoughts With other ISPs like Comcast and ATT Fiber offering plans up to 6Gbps and 5Gbps respectively, it is not surprising that Google Fiber is increasing its offerings beyond the existing 1Gbps and 2Gbps plans. It is surprising that they went with an 8Gbps option instead of a 10Gbps but presumably that will be offered soon since they are reportedly working on 20 Gbps currently. As a current GF customer I am really excited for these developments and am interested to see if these additional speed tiers will spark another race among ISPs in affected markets to offer similar plans. It will also be interesting to see how long traditional coax infrastructure can keep up since GF only has to update the back-end infrastructure to update their link speeds. googlepay Suspension of Google Payment Account
ViperPB posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
Last Friday I received an email that my Google account was potentially compromised due to malware on my main PC and that my Google Pay account would be suspended until verified. When I got home that evening, I scanned the flagged PC for Malware, reset my Google password (and some other essential ones), rechecked my two-step settings, and some other "house-keeping" items. I then moved to deal with my suspended Google Pay account, which results in my Google Cloud account being unusable. To preface this, I recently signed up for a trial of Google Cloud Services to use the Google Maps API for a personal project. The only card they have on file is a debit card. As far as I know, I have made no requests via the API and occurred no charges under the Cloud Services account. I do not know what triggered my account to be locked down. I wasn't notified nor have I seen signs of an unverified sign-in and the support person I dealt with won't tell me, but more on that later. When I went to verify my Google Pay account, I couldn't submit the documents from my PC. Okay, my internet is bad (rural America), so I used my phone later that day. My Google Pay account isn't that important anyway, I only use it for (now used, I'm switching Cloud providers regardless of cost now) Google Domains and the recently-acquired Cloud Services trial. The documents would submit through my phone, but not even 10 minutes later I would receive an email telling me I needed to verify my identity. I did this around 5 times both before and after contacting support. I genuinely started to believe I was being fished, but all of the emails, URLs, etc. are "google.com". The support person, who didn't speak fantastic English anyway, sent me an email saying there was nothing they could do and that account suspension fell to their "expert team". The email is attached with private info hidden. Today, I opened another support ticket to figure out how I could fix the issue. The agent told me there was nothing he could do and told me to appeal the decision, I had to reply to the email about the expert team, and this was only after asking how to appeal it. Supposedly, that was the email that was supposed to let me know my account was suspended. I read it as, they temporarily suspended it to review it, but never actually got my documents. Even now, I'm still stuck in the loop of submitting my documents, but getting the same email to verify my account. Frustrated by this response (and for some reason thinking it would be easier?), I had them call me to remedy the same issue. As far as I know, the call didn't accomplish anything. The support agent said they would talk to the product team and get back to me, but I don't have a time frame or any new information. In addition to that, their accent made it hard to understand them and to communicate my issue. I don't know how to proceed from here. I don't know how to escalate it any further. I'm considering closing my entire google account (I only use it for YouTube and Gmail anyway), and trying my best to never touch another Google product again.
