Q1 2017 ends on March 31st, so this means that we can now narrow down the launch date of Ryzen most likely to something before March. My personal guess is that AMD will most likely host their own event to announce Ryzen, since the only large event I can think of for gaming and hardware around that time is PAX East. But PAX East is after GDC. What are you guy's thoughts?

I need some help on EXP GDC on my Lenovo Thinkpad X220 with Expresscard. I have bought an EXP GDC without power supply because I have a 220 watt SMPS from my old ATX cabinet, in which I am planning to install the EXP GDC beast with SMPS and graphics card. https://www.gearbest.com/laptop-accessories/pp_229102.html?wid=1433363 Questions: 1. I was wondering if the 220 watt would suffice the need? 2. I'm planning for a bigger GPU, like a 1060 or 1050ti. Will this work on the Beast and SMPS? Or will I need a bigger 500 watt power supply? Or should I go only with the 970 and below GPUs as 10xx will not support, maybe? 3. What is the possibility of an Error 43 or Error xx, which I may encounter, just to know beforehand , and how to resolve it? Hi guys, I think everyone is familiar with this setup.. but I need help. Laptop: Asus UX303LN -Intel® Core™ i7 4510U Processor, -NVIDIA® GeForce® 840M with 2GB DDR3 VRAM -8GB DDR3 RAM -IPS FHD (1920x1080) -256GB SSD -Win 10 I have: -Palit GTX 970 -V8.0 EXP GDC NGFF -750w Generic PSU -6Pin to 6 and 6+2 Cable for V8.0 EXP GDC Beast Video Card Dock I set everything up as is. -Connected PSU cables to Beast -Connected additional 6pin to 6 and 6+2 Cable for additional power for GTX 970 -Removed Wifi Adapter -Connected NGFF Cable in that slot and connected it to Beast HDMI port. -Disabled GT840m via Device Manager -Run UDD (Uninstall Display Drivers) -installed latest 398.11 Driver from Nvidia -GTX 970 get fully recognizable and working properly status. -Then connected DisplayPort via GPU (DP to VGA adapter) displays successfully to the other monitor (very old one using VGA). -Also connected Sony Bravia TV via Regular HDMI to HDMI to (HDMI mini Adapter) to GTX 970 (Apparently, this card have Type C HDMI, mini).. and I guess this adapter is not working because my Sony Bravia TV had been "no input signal" where as connected via DP, at least it has some output. Issue: When I drag any window to the external monitor. It crashes. Games load properly on internal monitor, but crashes when moved to the external monitor. Sometimes, it goes to BSOD or lags too much and very unusable. I hope anyone can help.. I haven't sleep all night and I went straight to work without sleep. I can't stop figuring things out. I will provide photos later for reference once I got home. Ray tracing for the masses: A couple of days ago, NVidia announced the proprietary closed source ray tracing tech, called RTX, as part of their black boxed anti competitive middleware, called GameWorks. RTX requires dedicated hardware, and thus makes all current GPU's (sans Titan V?) obsolete. NVidia's tech demo used 4 x Titan V's to render, but don't worry, you get 25% rebate, so it only costs 9000$ to run. Today at GDC, AMD announced an open source alternative called RadeOn Rays (really AMD?). Unlike NVidia's proprietary tech, RadeOn rays are open source, vendor agnostic, and does not require dedicated hardware to work. In other words, it's actually relevant and useful As stated, gaming implementation of RadeOn rays are still in its infancy. RTX, on the other hand, will launch with Metro: Exodus, but it's not like you can use it anyways. You can see a 2016 video about how it works here: Update: Golem.de has interviewed (well asked a few questions to) AMD at GDC. *Translated from German* I initially thought RadeOn ray tracing would be a couple of years away, but it seems we will see it in games this year already. Personal opinion: Throughout gaming history, graphics fidelity has been increased mostly via adding polygons to 3D models and increasing texture resolution. As that has achieved great results, a focus on tesselation and shadows has been made. Today light and shadow is the single most important thing used, to increase graphical fidelity. Ray tracing, the technology of lighting up something via rays of light, that bounced off surfaces (like real light in the real world) will be the next huge technology to forward the gaming world. But it is very taxing. Personally, I am very interested in this tech going forward, but as always, I despise any proprietary black boxed tech, that makes adoption, performance and competition worse for us consumers. I know I already posted a topic on this. That thread will be the one about the event, and I will make this one the one about all the info that comes out. Chances are we will get a ton of info from Capsaicin so I didn't want to throw all the info onto that thread since that would make it the biggest thread ever that will take forever to read, so instead I am making this one so you won't need to read as much. In case you don't know what I am talking about: Here's a little refresher: AMD is hosting an event they call "capsaicin" at GDC (Game Developer's Conference) Monday March 14, 2016 (today as of March 14) at 4:00 P.M. They have already teased that they will be showing off Polaris there, and we could glean some purty cool info about Polaris from this It is highly rumored that AMD will launch the FuryX2, especially since both the vive and rift went on preorder recently and AMD said they were lining up the launch with the launch of VR headsets I think that's it (correct me if wrong) Also there have some rumors flying around that they will call the FuryX2 the Radeon Duo Pro, though I would take it with a grain of salt As well, this is pretty recent, but: http://wccftech.com/amd-polaris-10-gpu-vr-demo-gdc-2016/ It seems they will be presenting Polaris 10 EDIT: Forgot to mention they will be demoing it with a SteamVR benchmark. It has 3 8pin pcie connectors and has 16 teraflops of compute power. That GPU demoed at CES was Polaris 10. Polaris 10 and 11 will be launching this year, and Vega will be coming next year with HBM2. In 2018 we will be getting Navi It is not certain what memory Polaris will get, though amd seemed to be saying Vega will be the first with hbm2 so it might have ggdr5/x or hbm- Amd has said Navi will have "next gen memory"... Something even more revolutionary than HBM? Sounds interesting..... As well, they said it will have a extremely scalable architecture... Crap now I'm gonna be on the hook for another two years

So now that I have finally graduated I will likely retire my old trusty Ti-84 plus to my brother ( he desperately needs one) and get new one for university. So, I have been wondering if it's worth going for the new coloured versions, as I just can't deal with confusing lines in the graphings. So here are my options: 1- get the coloured version of the Ti 84 plus, doesn't seem to that much different or pricey it seems like a good option. 2- get their new Nspire line, looks fancy but I'm not sure if it's worth the money still can't find something compelling about it. 3-cheap out and just use a emulator 4- buy another ti-84 plus

Silicon Studios’ beautiful piece of rendering tech, the Mizuchi Engine, that we first saw early last year, is set to be playable for the first time in just under a month, at this year’s Game Developers’ Conference. Along with it however will be the equally impressive post-effects middleware “YEBIS 3,” the predecessor of which was used in the the stunning 2012 Square Enix tech-demo, Agni’s Philosophy, as well as its C# game engine called Paradox. For the Mizuchi rendering engine, those visiting the Silicon Studios booth between the 2nd and 6th March, will get a chance to wander around that museum scene were saw previously, on a PC, as well as view a real-time tech demo showed on a PlayStation 4, highlighting the rendering-technology’s multi-platform capabilities. YEBIS 3′s showcase will come via a PC demo too, as well as some specific gameplay demonstrations with titles from various developers that have made use of the technology. According to GDC's 2015 State of the Industry Survey, 56% of survey respondents said their current game will be released on PC: As the latest generation of console hardware matures, a larger percentage of developers are moving to make games for Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, compared to last year. 26 percent of developers surveyed said they're currently working on a PlayStation 4 game, up from 14 percent last year, while 22 percent said they're currently working on an Xbox One game, up from last year's 12 percent (note that games often are developed across multiple platforms). But PC and mobile still reign in terms of platform popularity -- 56 percent of survey respondents said their current game will be released on PC and 50 percent said their current project will release on smartphones or tablets, as compared to 53 and 52 percent (respectively) a year prior. In a press conference at the Game Developers Conference in San Franscisco today, Intel offered a few new details about its plans for a desktop version of its 14-nm Broadwell CPUs. The firm plans to release a socketed version of Broadwell in the middle of this year, and this CPU will play to Broadwell's strengths by offering Iris Pro graphics and fitting into a tidy 65W power envelope. As you can imagine, Intel expects this processor to play well in systems with tight thermal constraints, things like Mini-ITX rigs and custom mini-PCs. Most likely we see this in steam boxes. At GDC, Microsoft announced today that it is working to release a wireless adapter for the XBox One control for PCs running Windows. No information if the adapter would be sold separately or part of a controller bundle for PC, like the XBox 360 had. This adapter would allow you to play using your XBox One controller with your PC without any wires. Currently you need to be plugged in via the USB cable. Microsoft said it is coming later this year. No information on price. Windows 10 will allow you to stream XBox One games to any system running the OS. Microsoft previously said they are researching in doing the reverse as well (PC gaming streamed to XBox One, for TV play). Last week at GDC, NVIDIA teased the GTX TITAN X. Not too much is known now, most of it is speculation, but at the least we have some beauty shots courtesy of system builder Digital Storm. It seems the internet is abuzz with R9 390X rumors. This time around even game developers are talking about the card. The "whispers" as they're being referred to are pointing towards a "crazy" demo involving AMD's R9 390X flagship at GDC. And before you ask, no the demo doesn't involve heating the entire event using AMD cards. Full article

So basically I saw this post on Gamespot this morning which practically plays off the stacking vram potential with Directx 12. Well now there's a potential announcement might happen at GDC regarding using multiple GPU's from different manufactures(AMD and Nvidia ). I believe if this would come to fruition, it would be hands down one of the biggest things to happen to PC in quite some time. WCCF and others are speculating we'll see the chip inside be of the small-volume 16nm/14nm Denver Tegra chips made by TSMC before Nvidia moved to Samsung or by Samsung shortly after that event. While I expect this to have a 20% price premium over Oculus Rift, it's still good to see one of the titans of graphics giving VR a fair shake and making a competitive product. The purported name is Titan VR.

hey guys, I have a dell xps l502x laptop which have GT540m most of u might be familliar with faulty gpu shipped with this laptop, so i have this GPU under clocked, i am just planning to upgrade my gpu using external graphic adapters, few of which i came across EXP GDC Beast/ Ares v7.0 and Bplus PE4C v2.0 i am just wondering if anyone is familiar with these products and can confirm that how genuine they are??? are they worth buying????? -
New Steam controller prototype Valve is making 10 prototype units of their newest iteration of their own Steam Controller, and will bring them to the Game Developer Conference 17-21 March.
