Hey, my laptop just gave up, so I'm looking for a new one and also for a better one. I had a Nvidia 930M with an Intel i5 (2x2.3Ghz) and 6GB Ram. I mostly play MMORPGs like GW2 and FFXIV and kinda old games (~1 year old) but I want to buy smth which will do the job for a while. It should have : a - ethernet port - HDMI port - 15" inches - atleast 3 USB ports (atleast one 3.0 but i guess it will have it anyways) - mat display I have to use a laptop so i can't use any other options (Graphic AMPs wont work either). I would pay up to 1300€ (~ 1458 USD). I hope some of you know more about the tricks and dark serects of gaming laptops

Hey guys, I've received my first and current laptop back in 2009. It's a Lenovo G550 with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB or RAM, 320GB 5400RPM HDD, and a NVIDIA GeForce G210M graphics card, currently running Windows 10 Pro, on 64 bits). It's kinda lived its life to the fullest, allowing me to watch movies in HD while connected to an external TV (which is great for me) and play some old games on medium-high specs and some new games on low specs. However, from a 2016 point of view, my laptop is obsolete. Haven't really been able to play a AAA game since forever. I'm looking to buy a new laptop, but my budget is quite limited. I've tried to look into ASUS, Lenovo, and MSI and most of their low-mid range laptops exceed my budget (not by much, but still a considerable difference). However, I found a small tech company based in my country that supplies Clevo laptops for a reasonable price. Here is a build I received from one of the owners of the company: CLEVO N150 GT - approximately 1100 euros 15.6”(39.62cm) IPS FHD (1920x1080) 16:9 panel, 3.5mm Intel Core i5-6440HQ Quad Core (SkyLake) 2,6 - 3,5 Ghz 6MB L3 45W NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 965M 2GB GDDR5 (refresh model - Q1 2016) 2x8GB KINGSTON HYPER-X IMPACT 1600MHz CL9 DDR3L 1000GB HDD 7200rpm (HGST Travelstar 7K1000 7200RPM) 240GB KINGSTON SSDNow M.2 2280 G2, SATA 6Gb/s (550MB/s/R, 330MB/s/W) Ultra Slim 8x SATA DVD±R/RW/Dual Layer (+ 24x CD-RW) Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 8260 The specs are somewhat close to what I've seen on XMG/Sager/Eurocom laptops, and not far different from ASUS ROGs, Lenovo Y700s, and MSIs. However, there are a few things bothering me and I really hope I can find more answers here. Here goes: The company also offers the i7-6700HQ Quad Core (SkyLake) 2,6 - 3,5 Ghz 6MB L3 47W processor. From what I've read on the internet, there's not much difference between the i5 and the i7, besides the hyperthreading function on the i7. Should I consider the i7 though? The 965M is the latest refreshed model that came out in early Q1 2016. NVIDIA and other tech sites advertise it as being 40% faster than the GTX 960M. I know that the GTX 970M is faster anyway, but I haven't found a laptop that was fitted with GTX 970M and wouldn't break my wallet in its current shaky state. My concern is about the 2GB of VRAM. So many people on the internet say that it wouldn't perform well because 2GB is way to low. What do you guys think? Anyone that has it maybe? Regarding the RAM, I've heard that 8GB would suffice for gaming in current state. Should I really invest in 16GB or can the base model with 8GB be enough? I read on some forums/websites that the Travelstar 7K1000 is the best notebook HDD that offers 7200RPM in 1TB builds. I've had a HGST 5K1000 320GB 5400RPM for the past 7 years and I can't say it has disappointed me in any way. Thoughts? For SSD, the company also offers Samsung's SM951 sticks in 128/256/512 GB. Would those be a massive upgrade over the Kingston sticks? They're advertised with 2150MB/s/R, 1550MB/s/R but would it really make a huge difference for normal/multimedia/gaming usage? I haven't set my mind to the Clevo laptop just yet. So if you guys know other laptops that would be in the 1000-1200 euro range and have better/similar specs, I'm open for suggestions. Though please keep in mind that I'm from Romania and most major stores and laptop brands don't ship items here. Thanks a lot in advance. So I've been wondering which one of these gpu's gives you the most out of it for the money. I've seen entry level gaming laptops with the 960m for around 1k the 970m at 1500 and 980m for 2k. I was wondering which has the best value for the money. Obviously the 980m is best but is it worth the extra cost?

I've personally had an absolutely shocking experience with Aorus, ranging from build quality to a seriously shoddy warranty experience. I've read an awful lot of forum entries of people having similar issues and would like to see if it is worthwhile trying to compile something here on LTT. Aorus X3 GTX 870M i7 4860HQ 8GB installed (16GB upgraded) 256GB M.2 To cut a (very) long warranty experience short - 1) CPU thermal throttling at C91 to 800mhz making all games at any setting unplayable. Laptop is less than a year old. 2) During the (second of three, due to multiple parts failing) stress tests the repair company, MendIT, performed, the trackpad cable "burnt a whole through my keyboard". WTF??!? 3) Absolutely no initiated contact with me, I had to initiate all dialogue over the course of my (first of two) warranty experiences. 4) Upon return it appeared there had been a leakage out the back of my exhaust. 5) The repair company Gigabyte contract out to (a UK company, I'm also UK) installed a US style keyboard (replacing the one that was burnt through)... Not sure how this was possible. Anyway I'd like to here other people's stories if they have them. AFAIC Aorus build quality is shoddy to say the least, for example the hinge on the screen becomes extremely loose and wobbly over the course of a few months, the bottom of my chassis now "clicks" when i lift it. The keyboard paint had started to peel away before the replacement was installed. I really do feel like Aorus is pulling the wool over eyes here, correct me if I'm wrong, but I really do. The response I've been given is an apology and an excuse that the liquid in my fan exhaust was "dust cleaner....". Hello guys! i was just looking for some opinions on gaming laptops that i could get when i go to college. Originally, i was thinking about getting the Asus Rog G752, but figured it was way too big for me, and also i would like to be discrete and not go around campus with a i-play-video-games machine, with fancy lights and call of duty design. Also i would like a laptop not that thick, but also not slim enough, that makes wicked noise when gaming. Right now my candidate for college is the Gigabyte P34W V5, idk what you guys think so any input is greatly appreciated. so here's a video about linus reviewing it and i think its just what i needed

So im buying a laptop on ebay probably used mainly for editing vectors and using photoshop/illustrator,some gaming and djing so wondering whatd be the best laptop to get for less than 600 dollars on ebay used as itll be better value. been looking at the asus rog what everyones thought in this machine..looks good value. dont know what im lookin at when it comes to specs but looks like it would be good going off reviews..know jack about computers tbh tho. any helps a big help!

Hey everyone, I need some advice. Recently, as a freshman in high school, I have developed a need for a laptop. After some research I have arrived at the conclusion that my two best options are the New Razer Blade/Razer Blade 2016, and the Razer Blade Stealth. On one hand it would be nice to have the Stealth because it has great portability and is $800 less expensive than the other blade, but I am also a hardcore gamer and a DGPU would be nice. I have put some thought into the fact that I won't be gaming at school or while travelling so the more expensive version wouldn't be necessary, but as an aspiring aeronautical engineer I have a feeling I might be using software such as CAD in the near future. Another pro for the New Razer Blade is that it would have the horsepower needed for video editing, another one of my hobbies. What should I get? Any Advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks, Max PS. So, I need a laptop with a decent card in, and I'm struggling for choice. At first I wanted the Razer Blade, but I can't find the 2015 model ANYWHERE brand new in the UK. Then I tried for aorus but I really want a 970M in the laptop and they were like 2k from aorus. At the moment I seem to be straying towards the 14" MSI GS40 6QE as it seems to be a really good system. However there's only 1 review I can see on it and the guy complained about a dead pixel within the first month and his tab button felt really poor done. I know they're such trivial things but this amount on a laptop, really don't want anything to be wrong with it haha. Reason I'm going for a laptop is simply portability, I have a decent system now PC wise but with me travelling to my girlfriends on a weekend and for University as I do Games Dev so would be nice to be able to work when I'm out and about, and game of course. I need more information about the Fangbook 4 SX7-300. The most important factor when I look at laptops is the build quality and the price range. This laptop fits my price range and the only question that I have about this laptop is regarding the build quality. At this point in time, there are absolutely no reviews that exist that specifically covers the features on this laptop. What I can see from the pictures they have posted on their website is (and from what I have heard) that the lid is aluminum and the bottom is made of plastic material. I need to know if there is any flex in the screen area (My HP Pavilion has damn too much flex to put into my bag with other materials). Also, I need to know if it is too thick to carry around in a bag and the quality of materials used in the laptop. Yes I am a college student. I know from experience that you're not supposed to carry around a gaming laptop in your bag, but my studies requires me to do so. If you have any other specifications about the laptop that you know, please leave your comments down below. Hi, my plan if I can't get my Desktop working is to get a Eurocom X6, why? because its the cheapest gaming laptop with those specs, also they take Canadian dollars... which is a huge + for me (http://www.eurocom.com/ec/configure(1,332,0)ec) with the config I want the PC will come up to $2274 CAD. With the following upgrades: $20 for the highest end possible Wifi card $80 330W adapter $175 2 years warranty I would like the community's take on this laptop and weather the build quality of Eurocom is as good as the reviews (for other Eurocom pcs) say it is. Ok, so here is my dilemma. Right now I have a Macbook Pro Retina 15in late 2012. I have been using it for gaming, but its 650m graphics processor just isn't enough power for what I am doing, and it gets as hot as a bat outa hell when I am gaming, even with both fans cranked to their maximum of 6000 rpm. Also, I have decided that I hate Mac OS, so I am always running it in boot camp anyway. Basically I am trying to decide if I want to sell the macbook, and get a razer blade instead. I still really like the slim all metal design of the macbook, which is why I am looking at the blade, as it has a 870m graphics processor, and it has a much beefier cooling setup (2 heat pipes instead of one). Both laptops have 8gigs of ram, a quad core hyperthreaded processor, and similar display resolutions. My only concern is what the blades build quality is like. Yes, I know linus talks very highly of it in his videos, but I have seen some forum posts that say it's not quite as durable as a macbook pro, saying that it attracts fingerprints, and that the keys on the keyboard are apparently painted and that the letters will wear off, and so on. Also, If I get it, I was hoping to get a price cut by buying a refurbished one directly from razer. How good is razers refurbished quality control? I know that apple's is super good, and I am wondering if razers is good as well. Does anyone have both of these computers? What can you say for the build quality compared to a macbook pro retina? Are the keyboard keys and fingerprint smudges a major issue? Thank you!

Hi guys, Can you people suggest any good gaming laptop withing Rs.35000 which should play FIFA at high settings atleast for the next 3-4 years with the upcoming versions at medium to high settings above 45-60fps may be. I was about to buy a pc instead but something came in between and I will be buying a laptop instead. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am from India.

Hi so i own an MSI GE62 Apache 276 gaming laptop and i was wonder what kind of memory my laptop uses. i know that i uses DDR3 and it currently has 1 4gb stick of ddr3 1600mhz and 1 8gb stick of ddr3 1600mhz so i was wondering if the stick was an SODIMM or is it a DIMM. also how many pins is the stick? is it a 204 pin one or is it a 200 pin stick. thanks guys

Hi guys! Really need urgent help. So I have this Asus ROG GL551 gaming laptop (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA8X53HT2140&cm_re=1_x_ASUS_ROG_GL551JW-WH71%28WX%29_Gaming_Laptop_4th_Generation_Intel_Core_i7_4720HQ_%282.60_GHz%29_8_GB_Memory_1_TB_HDD_NVIDIA_...-_-9SIA8X53HT2140-_-Product) And my problem is I would have a screen glitch where white lines would go across the whole screen and I didn't know what it was. Only happened once or twice. So I got the drivers for the 960m from nvidias site and now I get the glitch in the video I attched. This happens every time I play a game and then it crashes with the error code in the photo. This only started happening when I got the latest drivers. Before I never updated any drivers as I assumed the laptop came with them, I bought this pc in December. Please help! Do I get the beta drivers (where do I get them?), or do I uninstall the latest ones I got and reinstall the old ones (step by step instructions would be awesome)? Hello! I recently bought a "gaming" laptop. I say "gaming" because laptops are not powerful enough for real hard core games, I know. I bought an MSI GT72 Dominator G (32GB DDR3 RAM, Nvidia 970M 3GB VRAM 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD. And ever since I got it it's been running, well, sometimes good and sometimes bad. When it runs bad, it crashes about twice a day on the BSOD and I wanted to ask, are all gaming laptops like that? I want to know if I should return my computer and get a different one if not all gaming laptops are like that. If I do return my laptop, please recoment a good gaming laptop. I need a laptop because it's portability is essential for me, so no desktop. Please recomend a laptop with a 980M and if it can sopport more harddrives as I have two m.2s here with me. Thanks! Josh

Hello, so i was wondering, Is the lenovo y700 4k edition laptop, locked on 48hz refresh rate? or 60hz? I'm asking this because from the last video i saw from linus about the y70-50(?) with 4k screen, the refresh rate was locked on 48hz, is this still going with the latest ones? (y700 model) i have looked online but found no answer to my question, can someone please who have this laptop settle this down for me? I'm really interested adding an external to my laptop but i'm not really sure how to do it. While snooping around the internet I've seen some MINI PCIE to PCIE adapters but I've also found one that use the thunderbolt connectors. Could anyone care to explain or show me useful links as to how that works? And is it compatible with my laptop: G75VX.
