Title really is the question, I currently have 2 TridentZ RGB ddr4 8Gb in my rig at the moment. I'm looking to add more memory into my setup. With the currently prices of Mem, i am looking at buying the Corsair LPX vengeance to add to it. Being a complete novice at building the technical aspect of computers, will I have any problems with running both of these at the same time running in dual channel? Thank you for any help that is given ! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.

Which Memory do I pick for gaming Ryzen 5800
Sull3h posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I just need help I plan on building a new high end gaming pc for gaming and eventually streaming. I plan on getting a rtx3070 and a Ryzen 5800x (if that cpu is overkill let me know, happy to save money) -
As the title suggest, any help would do. But I've tried DRAM Calculator and it always fail to post. even changing one timing (CAS) from 18 to 16 causes a black screen. I know I can do it step by step but at least I would like some head start. The dimms I'm using is GSKILL TRIDENT Z NEO RGB 32GB DUAL 3600 CL18 F4-3600C18D-32GTZN https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/326/1562840525/F4-3600C18D-32GTZN-Specification It's a dual rank and hynix CJR/DJR die unfortunately. Rest of the specs: Ryzen 5 3600 (4.375 at 1.2v) Asus B550 Strix-F Gaming Wifi Included is the screenshot of Thaipoon the the DRAM Calculator result. Any help would be appreciated especially if you have the same exact die, can i have your settings?

Memory: G.Skill F4-3200C16D-8GVKB, DDR4 3200MHz 4GB, (CL 16-18-18-38 1.35V) Attempted 4x4gb. currently in 2x4 All 4 are the same model. However, one was bought after the other (different manufacturing batch) All confirmed to work (ie. all 4 sticks work in DIMM slots 1 and 2, but none work in DIMM slots 3 and 4) Not in XMP profile (at 2133MHz MB: Gigabyte B450m ds3h wifi latest Bios Memory not officially supported in support list CPU is supported Cleaned DIMM slots Tried to reset CMOS CPU: Athlon 3000g, 2 Memory Channels, 2667MHz System Memory Specification Not overclocked No pins are bent I have tried most "solutions." (Thanks to everyone in the past who has tried though.) I only tried installing more RAM a few months after buying the motherboard. When turning on the PC with either DIMM 3 and/or 4 populated, the fans turn on but the system doesn't boot. They just ramp up all the way and don't ramp down like they would if the system was actually booting. Even if there is nothing I can do to actually solve it, I would like to know what component is causing the issue. Atm I cannot tell. I doubt it's the RAM but perhaps it is. Most likely it's the MB, but how do I not know it's the CPU? Does anyone know of a way I can diagnose the issue (ie. find what component is causing the issue?) OS: Manjaro Arch Linux BIOS: F64b Thanks all mb_memory_b450m-ds3h-wifi_picasso.pdf

Hi! I finished my build, and I might have shot myself in the leg. Note, that I am not an expert on the topic by any means, I just wanted to build a system which is futureproof, reliable workstation for modeling and bioinformatics, as well as a good gamestation. Here is my setup: -ASUS ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha -AMD Threadripper 3970x -2xMSI RTX 3090 Suprim X -G.Skill 256GB (8x32GB) kit 3600 Now, I just realised that the Threadripper 3970x officially maxes out at 3200Mhz memory speed, and only the 3990x supports 3600Mhz. Since I purchased the 3600Mhz kit, I am affraid I might have lost performance, since the CL numbers are as follows: 3200 kit: CL16-18-18-38 3600 kit: CL18-22-22-42 After doing the math, I realized that even after I set the RAM to 3200Mhz, I'll have longer latency due to the larger CL numbers, compared to if I have gone with the 3200Mhz kit. My question is: is there any way to maximize my performance, decreasing latency? Either by setting the CL numbers lower, or running the RAM at 3600Mhz? Is it possible to tune these sticks to get the same performance or better, as if I have gone with the 3200 kit? Anything like the infinity fabric or using the DRAM calculator? Thank you very much in advance!

I rebuilt my current PC about two years ago with 2x16GB DDR4-3600, G.Skill Trident Z Neo, Model F4-3600C16-16GTZNC, and all was running well. I recently decided to double my RAM with the same identical set as above (exact same model number) however, all the speeds are all over the place, and I don't know how to fix it. I don't know overclocking and I'm not brilliant with BIOS stuff. Shouldn't all the speeds be 3600 MHz? CPU-Z shows slots 1 & 2 as running 2666 MHz, and slots 3 & 4 as running 2132 MHz. The BIOS shows DIMM A1 & B1 as running 2666 MHz, and DIMM A2 & B2 as running 2133 MHz. Screenshots of CPU-Z and my BIOS are attached, and my current system specs are as follows. CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core MOBO: ASUS TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) RAM: G.SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO 4x16GB DDR4-3600 GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080Ti PSU: Corsair RM850 Help / advice appreciated. Cheers.

I've put together my ultimate build. Will last me a long time I think. 5800X3D Noctua nh-u12a air cooler (extremely recommend this cooler, does the job and then some) Asus Rog Strix X570-E gaming wifi ii Asus tuf 3080 G.Skill 3600 cl14 ram pack of 2x16gb sticks 6x ppc pwm nf-f12 120mm 3k rpm noctua fans 2x nf-f12 pwm 120mm 2k rpm noctua fans 2x nf-A4x20 ppc pwm 40mm 5k rpm noctua fans Lianli mesh 2 case Silverstone 850w psu Curve Optimiser in bios -30 all cores BCLK clock of 102.85 most games 50-60 degrees intensive games get up to 60-70 degrees This has been a gradual build, initially put together about a year ago, have now finished it to what I finally wanted. Have also OC'd 5800X3D with a 102.85 busclock (BCLK), resulting in a consistent 4577mhz OC aswell as undervolted it with 1.19v. With sporadic 4677mhz showing up...sometimes. not sure what causes that, but oh well. Bigger number better!! Bahumbug to AMD who says this cpu isnt Overclockable hahahahaha. Edit: Have added pics of pc off, for better detail of parts and better clarity with no rbg.

Hello guys, I am looking for a RAM upgrade right now and I need your help. Right now I'm running a ryzen 1600 (3.8Ghz OC) on a Strix B350-F. I'd like to upgrade from my 2x4GB 2400 kit to something faster with more capacity. While searching, I came across a 16GB 3000 kit of G.Skill Trident Z neo and I love it. Model No: G.SKILL F4-3000C16D-16GTZN Will this run with my existing hardware? I heard that my platform is (or was?) a little picky with RAM and I'd like to hear your opinion/experiences before pulling the trigger. Thanks in advance.

Hi, I bought the Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB 3200MHz ang tried to pair it to Gskill Ripjaw 2x8GB 3200MHz and I can't make it to work 100% stable. It is only working stable without XMP or with the speed of 2166MHz. Here's my specs: R7 2700x OC'ed to 4GHz RTX 2070 Super B450M Mortar Max 750Watts Sseasonic Focus Here's what I did so far: Changed the DRAM Voltage to 1.40 Changed the frequency from 3200MHz to 2800MHz Reseat all ram Memory Diagnostic (No issues found) BIOS reset XMP 1 and 2 The nearest configuration that it works for 1 hour without restarting is changing the DRAM voltage to 1.40 with the frequency 3000MHz, but when I remove the RAM, the kits are too hot. Thank you in advance.

Hello, I am currently using an R7 2700X with 8GB 2400MHz/CL16 RAM (PPP link). I'm currently looking for faster RAM to buy during Black Friday. I read that 3200MHz is the sweet spot for my CPU and found some 3200MHz 14CL - B-Die sticks. However, I've also realized that Ryzen 5000 is best with 4000MHz ram. I plan to get a Zen4 (6000?) CPU, but now I'm afraid that 3200 MHz will be too slow, and I don't want to upgrade my RAM twice. With that being said, should I just get 4000MHz RAM, or should I just stick with the 3200MHz RAM I found (and maybe overclock)? Also, what are the best options for 4000MHz sticks? I am willing to overclock if I can find a good tutorial, so B-die will be fine. Any help is appreciated, thank you! P.S. - My motherboard is more on the budget side, so I don't know it will be even be able to support 4000MHz ram. What I might do is just buy the faster RAM and run it at lower speeds, and then when Zen 4 comes out I will probably go get the CPU and a new mobo that supports it. Please let me know if this is a good idea as well.

Hello guys and ladies, I recently build a Computer using the following (relevant) parts: -MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC -AMD Wraith Prism stock cooler (by Cooler Master) -4x Corsair SP120 RGB fans (connected over RGB hub to JCorsair header on MoBo) -2 sticks of DDR4 g.Skill TridentZ RGB RAM -Razer DeathAdder Chroma (non Elite, non V2; normaly requires Synapse 2.0) -Razer Cynosa Chroma -Razer Goliathus Chroma I observed the following thing: I started this journey by fullfilling the wish to control my old Synapse 2.0 DeathAdder Chroma mouse with the recent version of Razer software(s). I encountered that using the Chroma Visualizer it is possible to sync keyboard, mouse and mousepad in different modes by applying "always on " and my "standard audio-device", setting visualization and background to the same effect and applying the same brightness. A little later I realized, that also my Wraith Prism CPU cooler was lit up in the representative colour(s). After clicking through the Razer Synapse tabs, i saw that under "connect" the "MSI_LED.exe" was deactivated. Checking MSI Mystic light, I realised, it was no longer controlling the RGB of the CPU cooler, and deactivating the "Game sync" mode, also added the MoBo and the g.Skill RAM LEDs to the synchronized LEDs. BUT, by deactivating Mystic lights "game sync", the MoBo seems to loose the configuration for my SP120 fans, which results in mostly off LEDs and alternating flickering. I observed such behaviour already on my primary system, when selecting the wrong sort of Corsair fans (e.g. HD, LL, etc.). So I assume, deactivating the "game sync" leads to the selection of the default sort of Corsair fans for the JCorsair header. Does anyone have a clue on how I can set my SP fans as default by modding MSI Mystic Light? Thanks in advance ;D PS. I could check for Corsair ML and LL fans, for beeing set as default... (Albeit ML fans are not selectable in Mystic Light)

Hello I have a problem with my memory clock I have g.skill trident z rgb 3600mhz cl16 16-18-18-39. I loaded the XMP profile in the BIOS but the memory only clocks at 3200mhz although 3600mhz is set. The 3200mhz is displayed in the bios, in HWINFO and in Cpu z. Then I got the ram at 3866mhz and 17-19-19-42 and then I was shown a memory clock of 3466mhz in all tools. I also noticed that with Prime95 whether xmp profile is activated or not after 10min a core stops after a main thread shows a fatal error. My cpu is the i5-9600kf and the motherboard is the gigabyte z390 aorus elite. I tried the BIOS versions f9 and f10c and had the problem with both. Would be super nice if someone could help me. The BIOS is completely stock and the CPU, motherboard and memory are new. I also don't have any components there to replace them in my setup which makes troubleshooting difficult

So I am building a photshop/lightroom/light gaming computer. So far i have ordered a g.skill 32gb ram kit (f4-3600c16d-32gvkc) and an msi performance gaming x470 gaming plus max motherboard.(coolermaster mb511, corsair rm750 psu, gtx1660 6gb also on order[all of this will be with a 3600x) Looking through the motherboard manual, it says it's supported memory is up to 3466mhz. The ram I have is 3600mhz. Did i botch this up? Or will it run at 3466mhz?

Hello, I have ASUS B450-I Gaming Motherboard & Seeking to purchase this Ram Kit from G.Skill - F4-3200C16D-32GTZR For Ryzen 3200x. Would this kit be compatible @ 3200MHz? I've looked up the Motherboard QVL doc & it wasn't listed & I've looked up G.Skill Chipset Comparability list and wasn't listed, But i'm wondering if anyone has had this same set up and has got it to work, Thank you

I've been looking at some RAM and found these two: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB 3600MHz F4-3600C16D-16GVKC 16-19-19-39 https://www.newegg.ca/g-skill-16gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820232880?Item=N82E16820232880 Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3200MHz CMK16GX4M2Z3200C16 16-18-18-36 https://www.canadacomputers.com/product_info.php?cPath=24_311_1326&item_id=113703 I don't really need 3600MHz but it would be nice to have and also I don't know much about die types. Any opinions of which is the better value?

I built my PC back in January and have been enjoying it since. However, recently, I have been getting MEMORY_MANAGEMENT errors while playing videogames. Like Apex Legends and Doom Eternal. I contacted Microsoft support and he took a look at me motherboards QVL and noticed my memory is not listed there. Motherboard: Aorus X570-I Pro Wifi Memory: F4-3600C16D-32GTZNC [32Gb 3600Mhz G.Skill tridentZ Neo] The motherboard QVL for my CPU (Ryzen 5 3600) doesnt have my memory listed. But the memory QVL does have my motherboard listed. So, I am running into these memory management blue screens quite often while playing games and was wondering if I really do need to buy some new ram. And if so, which comparable one would work best? i.e. a 2 stick 32GB 3600Mhz ram. Memory QVL Motherboard QVL

Should I save 20€ on buying G.Skill Value instead of HyperX Fury RAM priced at 120€? 2x8GB DDR4-2133Mhz CL15, if that is of any matter.

G.Skill Aegis 2x8GB DDR4 vs. Mushkin Blackline 2x8GB DDR4: Both are at about the same price here, in Argentina (South America), but I don't know which one should I buy, can you help me? I know that there isn't much difference between RAM brands in terms of specs, but maybe they're different in terms of reliability... https://www.gskill.com/en/product/f4-3000c16d-16gisb (G.Skill) vs. http://www.poweredbymushkin.com/index.php/catalog/item/4-blackline/1147-997199f.html (Mushkin). P.S: The Aegis is at 3000MHz, while the Blackline is at 2400MHz, but I think it doesn't matter because my Motherboard is "locked" at 2400MHz.

Memory maker G.Skill made some DDR4 ram exclusively for AMD Ryzen. The new rams are, G.Skill Fortis and G.Skill Flare X. Fortis has a operating frequency of 2133 to 2400MHz with a memory voltage at 1.2v and Flare X goes a bit further, all the way up to 2466Mhz, with a memory voltage at 1.35v. Capacity ranges from 16GB up to 64GB, although the fastest speed, Flare X only has 16 and 32GB kits, but not 64GB kits. Design of them, looks similar to their Aegis and Ripjaws 4. No words on pricing yet. https://www.techpowerup.com/231204/g-skill-announces-flare-x-series-and-fortis-series-ddr4-memory-for-amd-ryzen

Hi there, I just want to know how often or what's the probability, that a ram memory can be bad from factory - and I heard that before from other people, that ram may be problematic from default and not work even if it is compatible etc. I just experienced it with my newest build - I have bought trident z series from G.Skill - RAM 2x8GB DDR4 3200 16-18-18-38, TridentZ Red Series factory number F4-3200C16D-16GTZB First I've inserted both sticks and my mobo (msi z270 gaming m5) had error code 55 (no memory installed). So I removed one stick and restarted the system - it worked fine, loaded bios. Thereafter I've removed the working stick and replaced it with the second to verify thats the bad one and it caused the error 55 and was restarting the pc over and over. Now Iam sending the sticks back to the shop to claim and Iam worried, that the same situation can happen again. Was that just a coincidence or is that a common thing with the ram memory ? Looking forward for more information Thanks _____________________________________ i7 7700k MSI Z270 GAMING M5 GIGABYTE GTX 1080 G1 SAMSUNG 960 evo CORSAIR RM650X
