Hey guys, this is my first post here and I'm a little new to pc modding so pardon my ignorance lol Currently I have a Dell Precision Workstation that I use for FX work: Dell Precision T3500 - Xeon W3550 3.06GHz 28GB DDR3 500GB HDD + 250 SSD where I work from Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit NVS 295 GPU It works well for tests and stuff, but I'm going to take on a freelancer project and it feels a bit slow to do work iterations and the fan is pretty loud, like really loud. I'm thinking of upgrading it, where do you guys think I should focus?

(sorry bois, first post, don't know if I am doing anything wrong, dont be toxic) So my PSU can't handle my FX 8350 and my 1050 TI, lagging in BF 1 and crashes where screen goes black and one monitor goes off or the computer crashes. PSU is Xilence 600w, not even 80 plus, 30 bucks or so. build: FX 8350 stock 1050 Ti MSI 4GB OC 8gb ram ddr3 Gigabyte 990x I'm a student and can't go over 60 bucks so I considered these, but I don't know if these psu's are enough for my build, so feel free to answer: Corsair VS650 Thermaltake Smart RGB 700W

Hi all, Been looking at this for a while but need to see what other people think. Wanting to upgrade my PC from my fx-8350 @4.8GHz to ryzen 5, but don't know whether to go for 1400 or 1600. With having a family and a house to run I don't have the option of just "saving up" and will be planning to do this with my birthday money at the end of the month. This also means I don't really have the option of waiting till Zen+ but I don't think it'll make that much difference anyway. I'm running a 980ti hybrid (horrible overclocker, not stable at anything above stock speeds even with bios voltage/power mods) running games like assassins creed (playing through the series) project cars 2, maybe farcry 5 when it comes out and pubg when I can afford it. Obviously the 1600 will be better but will the 1400 be sufficient? Any advice is appreciated, sorry for the long post and no potato.

Ok so I am not sure what's going on with this system... It runs on a few weeks old clean windows installation everything up to date and no other issues what so ever.... Practically on my everyday life i did not notice any hiccups what so ever because the system despite not performing as it should is still smooth and fast. But I noticed that when running an IntelBurnTest on very high I get almost half the GigaFlofps compared to a guy who has the same CPU as me with a slightly slower ram (mine is a trident x DDr3 2400 Mhz dual channel his is a 1800 hz kit) ... and I noticed that despite the burn test running my CPU (according to task manager ) was running at ~90% at 3.25GHz (despite the default clock being 3.5 GHz with 4Ghz boost) This was very strange.. I thought maybe its because I have the power settings as "balanced" I changed them to high performance and still no change... Then I thought to restart my computer and load an OC profile I had in my BIOS at 4.4Ghz all cores and ~1.4 Vcore etc (this profile used to work flawlessly and I use to run benchmarks and game for hours a day in the past with this profile) The PC seems to boot to windows faster but upon running cinebench I get like 490 I dont remember how much I used to get in the past but I think it was a little more than 500 on factory clocks here is the video with all the metrics while running cinebench https://streamable.com/jt1l1 What gives ??? If it was a failed OC it should freeze or something right? yet the temps are ok (on air) I recorded the video and uploaded it I type here this post without restarting etc and everything works fine and smooth and fast but not as fast as it should be... I really never had a similar situation before.... (please take a look at the video to understand better of what I am talking about) **EDIT** The Cinebench score is at 551 which is normal, maybe it was slower because of all those HWinfo windows I had etc.. but still it did not run as OC it only run as 3.45 GHz and the score is normal for default clocks. **EDIT2** Problem solved guys... the problem was Asrocks quirky Bios interface which when loading the previously saved O.C profile did not actually really set the system on those settings (I mean as you can see in the picks in a post bellow this topic the settings were visibly there and seemed visibly enabled by the bios but in reality they were not) I had to a) reset to defaults b) enter each value again manually on my own (not touching the OC profile I saved) identically to how its shown in the pictures bellow in the following posts and then boom everything get set up and windows run my CPU at 4.4Ghz....

Take some time to read through these articles: http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/the-amd-athlon-200ge-surfaces-based-on-raven-ridge.html https://pcgamesn.com/amd-athlon-apu https://www.techpowerup.com/241372/mysterious-amd-athlon-200ge-surfaces-on-sandra-database Ryzen replaced FX as the high end option, with FX becoming mid-range and Athlon becoming a low-end option. As far as we can see, Sempron is gone. Think about this, if AMD refreshed their high-end segment with Ryzen, and their low-end segment with Athlon, that still leaves one segment untouched, and that would be FX. I may have discovered some evidence of an upcoming refresh, or, similar to the RX 550/560, a silent change to the FX CPU specs. Take a look at these pictures. Maybe we'll see some AM3+ motherboards with PCIe 3.0. I would love to see a refresh of the FX series, maybe even a cheaper alternative to Ryzen, but maintaining high core count.

Hi, I found in my local classified a gaming pc with a fx 6300 black edition and a gtx 680. the guy is asking 400 negotiable. I was wondering if I were better off buying this pc and learn how to overclock etc with it and when I have more money, buy a brand new high end gaming pc. Or, go out and buy a r5 1600 and gtx 1070 now and stick with it for 3-4 years.

Best AM3+ Proccesor? (Fastest)
conquestisbestending posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I was just wondering what the best upgrade for my fx-6300 would be. The FX-9590 I believe is the fastest, YES I know it's just an overclocked 8350. -
Okay, I have been deciding wether to return to the AMD FX 8350 processor for just 1080p video editing, Gaming, Podcasting and live podcast. I've had owned one FX 8350 paired with a 1050 ti and it was not all that great. But I would like to pair this Processor with the RX 470 graphics card for a better card but on the other hand, I would like to get the Ryzen 5 1600 paired with the RX 470. Do not know what to do? ASSISTANCE! Haha. Heres the parts I would like to get: -FX 8350(Slightly overclocked) -AIO Cooler -16GB of RAM -Samsung's M.2 NVME 250gb(Important applications and windows) -Seagate's 2TB HDD (For storage handling) -Samsung's SSD 250GB(For other applications) -RX 470

My current budget gaming system rocks an AMD FX-4100 CPU and a GTX 750 ti. I'm planning on getting an i5-2500k in the future (trying my hands on OC'ing too). I've recently found a deal near my area for a bundled z77 Asus mobo and an intel i3-2100. My question is will the i3-2100 performance be parallel to the FX-4100 (possibly better)? I'm asking since I won't be getting the i5-2500k for a while if I purchase the z77 and i3 bundle. Thanks guys!

Okay, I'm lazy to research but I want to get back into PC for both video editing and gaming. I've had the AMD FX-8350 and it operated well "okaay" on some cases and I would like to buy it again. Been debating that either I'd go newer Ryzen 7 1700x for the 8 cores or the classic FX-8350. Although that the FX is cheaper than the Ryzen. But, the question is will the FX Overclocked operate as good as the stock Ryzen?

How's it going everyone, I'm at a loss with this one. I'm trying to sell an old FX system I recently replaced, but I didn't want to sell it in the state that I was using it in, so I performed a few upgrades. Namely, I replaced the dinky AMD stock cooler for an Arctic Freezer 13. The AMD heatsink doesn't even have heat pipes, so I thought naturally that the Freezer 13 would be leagues better in cooling the FX 6300 this system has. I'm finalizing a few things before I close the side panel and boot up the system. I'm about to open up Prime95 for a stress test but before I do, I'm seeing 65°C idle (through HWMonitor). I do the stress test anyway, and strangely the cpu barely increases in temperature, something like +4°C. So I leave the system sitting for a while and come back to it today. I took the cooler off and damn, there was barely and contact between the cooler and heat spreader via the thermal compound. So I a clean it off, reapply some MX4, and I tighten the cooler down real fkn tight. But here I am, I'm still seeing idle temps in the mid 60°C range. What is going on here? Any thoughts? Hello everyone, I am having trouble with my HP PC. I am trying to restore the default factory cpu clock setting for my pc. I don't remember but I think I used AMD overdrive to enable turbo core mode for the cpu. For the past few hours I have been trying to get my clock settings in AMD Overdrive to stick, but when I shutdown my pc and then turn it back on the clock speed for the cpu stays the same at 3.7Ghz. I want to stay at 3.5Ghz. Yes I know I should have not used amd overdrive to oc my cpu but im too late, I messed up my pc. I have tried to tick the settings in preferences to use the last setting after boot but no luck. I tried running AOD in administrator mode and clicking APPLY. I have tried to click set to default but no luck. Tried turning off turbo core mode and click apply and okay but still doesn't save after shutdown. Tried disabling the aod services. Tried uninstalling Amd Overdrive. Tried uninstalling catalyst control center. Still after reboot the clock speed would be 3.7Ghz. Maybe changing power plan setting? It's on high performance mode. Is that making it enable turbo core? One thing I have not tried was to reset my bios by removing the cmos battery. Will this work to reset the oc settings. Or is my pc forced to use turbocore mode? Btw there is no overclock settings in the bios. There is no way for me to change the cpu clock speed in the bios. PC specs HP envy h8-1414 OEM motherboard Amd fx-6120 Gtx 1050 10Gb ram

Team, I would like to know which AMD FX Series processor costs less and is also available. It can be a new or used. how ever can you also suggest any compatible motherboards for the processors, which costs less and is also available. It can be a new or used. But the processors should atleast have 4.00ghz or higher The purpose for the CPU is used for applications that are Processor Oriented (per core speed along with number of cores). And I would use a separate GPU for this project. I have a quadro 6000 along with 4gb*4 of DDR3 ram. Also please recommend a good PSU for this project. Max Budget is about $300 for now. I would upgrade my pc in the month of FEB 2017. $300 is for the Processor and Motherboard only. Any Suggestions are greatly valued. Thank you. Edited just now by Zayir

I've been looking through many forum posts and I did not find a thread that fit my situation, so here it goes! Hey, I've had this computer for quite a while and I'm looking to record games with OBS @ 1080p (p.s. I watch OBS which is running on my secondary screen). When playing games, I usually get around 100fps with my current GPU which is a XFX Radeon HD 7850 2GB. When recording, my fps drops in to the 20-30 range depending on the game and when I am playing something like Battlefield 3; I consider that unplayable...at least to get a nice score...Haha... I have a little extra cash coming in the next few months and I would like to upgrade my graphics card. Which up to date graphics card would you suggest I get for playing games at high detail and record/stream at the same time? Here is a link to my pc build: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/JustCallMeh_Epic/saved/2z6XLk - Link for Steam Profile (see what games I like to play): http://steamcommunity.com/id/DapperDuff

Hi guys. I'm unable to get my FX 8350 stable at 4.5GHZ overclock without cores failing in Prime95. It takes me about 1.45- 1.5v to even just about get it stable for 15mins. I usually have LLC on Medium or High. with all power settings disabled and turbo mode. It is cooled by a H100i V2. What could be the problem? Is it the settings I'm choosing?
