Hi everybody, I wrote a few months ago, my PC stuck after a heavy object had fallen by the house, I had no problems until a few weeks ago when the power bank fell on the side of the house motherboard, And I found that my computer was very sensitive to the bumps. Every time I flicked my fingers on the pc panel, the mouse stopped responding, the audio blocked on the last fraction of a second loop, and I was forced to reset the system. After checking psu, gpu, cables, cpu, ram, etc, I brought the computer to the store, and told me that the motherboard was the problem, specifically a usb path was shorting. So problem solved right? not really... I bought another pc, new cpu, motherboard, gpu, new ram, new hard drive, new psu, even new case and sata cables, I tried to hit the new PC case on the same spot where my old one freezed ... and it freezed too ... I can not understand how unlucky I can be to have two completely different computers with the same problem.. Or is some security technology for hard drives that I do not know? I'm 100% sure that both PCs are assembled correctly and that no component is malfunctioning, except for the motherboards ... A motherboard is asus and the other is asrock. For the rest, both computers work properly ... can anyone help me to better understand this situation? Sorry for the bad english old config i7 3770 Asus p8h61 lx3 plus r2.0 8gb ram drevo x1 ssd Palit GTX 770 New config i5 4440 ASRock h81M DGS r2.0 8 GB RAM Zotac GTX 670 Seagate Barracuda

Ryzen 5 1400 3.2Ghz EVGA GTX 1050 ti SC 8GBx1 Corsair Vengeance 120GB SSD B350 PCMATE MOBO (As a fix I tried changing to a new one) -> GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming MOBO PSU Cooler Master Elite v2 550w Hello, I've been trying to fix this problem for quite a while, after building this PC I started to have very problematic issues specifically when playing games, it seems that when the GPU has to render visuals it starts to fail, causing one of the following: - Freezes: the screen either blacks out or freezes, with some games, it fixes itself by re-rendering absolutely everything on screen again, with other games, I have to minimize the game then maximize so it can re-render the visuals again. (This happens with PayDay 2, Killing Floor, Terraria, Thumper, etc) - Crashes: games completely crash, sometimes it takes longer to crash (1-2 min), sometimes it does just as the game loads (DotA 2, DOOM, Half Life 1, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor, Shadow Warrior (Sometimes runs fine, but absolutely random), Metro 2033 Redux, Strider) In most of the freeze scenarios one of these messages appear "Nvidia Display driver stopped working and has recovered" or "-Appnames- access to graphic hardware was blocked" as a pop up window. Software checks I did: - Installing latest drivers. - MemTest86 to check the RAM memory. - FurMak to stress test the GPU (Crashes after some time). - HeavyLoad to stress test the CPU/GPU (CPU tests worked fine, GPU tests would suddenly stop showing display) - CrystalDisk to check the SSD and HDD I use. - Checked all temperatures and they were fine. - Voltage values in the PSU were fine. - Updated the BIOS to the latest version. (B350 PCMATE) - Disabling PCI Express energy optimization. - Setting Max performance on NVidia power management panel. - Disabling VSync on NVidia graphics panel. - Creating a TdrDelay value on Regedit. - DDU then a clean reinstall of the latest drivers. - DDU then a install of an old driver. - Changing from Windows 10 to Windows 8.1 (I already went back to Win 10 with a fresh reinstallation). - Reducing memory usage through Msiafterburner. Hardware checks I did: - Swapping PCI ports to see if the PCI port was faulty. (B350 PCMATE) - Swapping RAM stick to another slot to check if it was faulty. (B350 PCMATE) - Using 2 different GPU's to check for any differences in my machine. (B350 PCMATE) - Using a different PSU. (B350 PCMATE) - Using a different motherboard. (GIGABYTE GA-AB350-Gaming) I'm very stressed since I still can't understand the situation and I don't know what to do. After all these fixes all I did was making some games more stable but the issues still keep going.

Additional Questions :1) Is the PSU bad ? 2) Is the SSD bad or do the windows get erased from shut-start repeatedly or due to another cause for example malufactionign cpu ? 3) Is the CPU bad ? 4) Is the MOTHERBOARD Bad ? I got a brand new sexy pc. You see, i try to install a fresh windows 7 download from a flashdrive and keeps freezing as soon as it passes the bios and post process. I tried using my old hard drive which has windows already installed, but it freezes whenever i get into windows, the login screen. I can only conclude that the problem is windows BUT WHY? HELP ME PLEASE. I will die if i don't play my daily dose of CS:GO. I tried changing ram, switching slots, i have 4 sticks i tried each of them in all the slots. Is it the cpu? how could it be the cpu it was working in the bios. If i go in the bios everything is working fine.

Hello I would just like to raise concern, So my computer would occasionally hang and this has been occurring for two months, so it would go by freezing randomly and audio from the speakers would emit a grounded noise. Then even after waiting awhile for it to 'unfreeze', it would still remain hanging with the grounded audio noise. My only way to resolve it is by restarting the pc. Any suggestions for possible troubleshoots or cause of the problem? If it would be likely to be software or hardware? Thank you Here are the specifications of my PC: Motherboard: Gigabyte GA Z170 XP SLI OS: Windows 10 64bit (Enterprise 1607 version) GPU: Sapphire Rx 480 OC CPU: Intel i6700K (clocked at 4.5 GHz) Ram: GSkill Ripjaws 8GB PSU: Seasonic S12II 620W

Hello and thank you for bothering to read this. My 3 Months old HP Omen Obelisk 875 (i think -099NO) regulary (multiple times a day, sometimes multiple times an hour even) just freezes my screen for a few seconds, then goes back to working absolutely fine. sometimes it seems to appear that it reacts to keyboard commands while beeing frozen but sometimes even the sound freezes with it. the freezes come randomly when im Gaming/streaming, but also when im just only having the browser open and last for around 2-5 seconds. I was running Afterburner, taskmanager and CPU-z a few days to look whats going on when it freezes but all the programs activities didnt seem suspicious, no spikes in temperatures or cpu usage. other times my mouse just stops reacting for a second or 2 but im not sure if that's maybe a Cable of my mouse issue and it started occuring just very recently and very rarely. Still both of those issues are very annoying while trying to play competetively. OS and hardware are completely as i got them from the shop +Windows Updates. specs are: i7 8700 non k RTX 2080 16 GB Ram I opened it yesterday and saw it only has a 500w power supply in it, which seems a little underpowered but i dont know. I searched through HP's forum and saw there's many people with the exact same freezing issue that i have, it seems to be common with OMEN pc's SINCE 2013! sadly none of those Topics offered a solution for it and HP's helpfullness on said forum is so good that i didn't bother to post this there. I'm kinda angry about this bc HP basically charged me 2100euros for a broken machine and doesnt care if it works or not. again: HP's forum has threats with this same freezing issue in omen pc's dating back to 2013 so its not a new issue. If you need more information for troubleshooting please tell me what you need and i'll try and provide it. if someone can help me with with this i'd be very happy, thank you already, Steve

It started with no reason, i tried downclocking and undervolting videocard, to reduse thermals, still same problem even with 60C max temps, even more lags. Also i saw that the lags happen only in games when the "3D usage, idk" in task manager drops to zero. I will try any suggestions if i can.

For over a year I have a weird issue with windows. I think it started after a windows update (like all modern problems do). When ever I use an input device, this could be typing, clicking the mouse, changing the volume, using a joystick. My pc stutters and freezes. The faster I type the worse it gets. It isnt always happening that is the weird thing. Sometimes nothing happens for a few hours then suddenly my pc starts lagging whenever I type or click the mouse. But recently it has gotten worse. Core 0 is now almost constantly at 90-100% usage and every single key pressed lags the system. What happens: When it happens I can see Core 0 spikes to 100% usage The process "Intertupts from system" is at very high cpu usage The more input signals I give the worse it gets, for example changing the volume very quickly or typing fast or moving a joystick very fast. My input hardware: Corsair K95 Logitech G502 Saitek X55 HOTAS Software that might be the cause: Corsair ICue because it generaly works like shit. Troubleshooting I did: Updated all software and drivers. Unplugged devices until problem stops but it doesnt. What could it be? I am at a loss. P.S. the screenshot text is in Dutch because I am.

Hello, I have a problem on my PC for some time now. When I am doing some tasks on my PC (whether being browsing or heavy-duty tasks like video editing) my Windows freezes randomly. Sometimes it lasts 5 seconds, sometimes 10, 15, 20 but sometimes it goes up to a minute of freeze and I am unable to do anything while it's frozen. I can't open task manager or any other app so I am forced to just wait for it to unfreezes. Also, I sometimes get 4-6 freezes in 1-2 minute time span but other times I can be working for hour or two and it doesn't freeze, not even once. It usually happens when I am launching two browsers or have one open and click on the other one to launch it. It also happens frequently when I game so it takes away the joy of playing games. It also makes my life pretty frustrating when trying to get some work done. Whether it's editing some music video, or actually making music it is annoying not to be able to work smoothly. But also interesting fact is that while PC is frozen I am able to move my cursor but that's the only thing I can do, and it isn't really helpful because, as I said, I am unable to launch any app while PC is frozen. I really don't know is this Windows based or hardware based problem so any help regarding my problem would be really appreciated. Thank you for your help!

Idle computer freezes after exactly 10 minutes 42 seconds
ETHREAL1 posted a topic in Troubleshooting
Have a strange problem.... I have a thunderbolt 3 GPU dock with a 2060 in it, but the computer freezes after exactly 10 minutes 42 seconds of being idle, the machine become completely unresponsive, but if it’s under load like a game it’s fine and stable for hours... Specs; laptop: asus zepherus m (GM501GS) Intel 8750h 16GB DDR4 2666 MHz ram 256GB NVME boot ssd (Samsung) 2TB seagate firecuda HDD Full desktop class GTX 1070 (stuck in safe mode, bad power sensor I think) dock: asus XG Station RTX 2060 (msi ventus OC) also of note, the reason I got the EGPU is because the 1070 on the laptop is stuck in safe mode (clock speed locked to 130mhz) and I’m thinking it’s because of the power sensor, it thinks the GPU is pulling 600+ watts (laptop only has a 230W PSU) the 1070 is currently disabled in device manager because if it is not games try to use it instead of the 2060 in the dock any ideas? -
Hello all, Have been having a lot of random freezes recently. Non-overclocked system in node-202 case. Have run a couple of test and burning - nothing, no freezes. Have run Memtest - 670 errors... Does it necessary mean that I have a faulty memory and only RMA is an option? Thanks in advance. MemTest86-Report-20190713-230848.html

Parts List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3FGQcq I finished my new build yesterday, and when I went to boot up, the system couldn't get past the motherboard splash screen. I troubleshooted for hours. Finally I decided to remove the M.2 SSD, and the system made it past the splash screen and into the BIOS. I reinstalled the SSD, and sure enough, it froze on the splash screen. I tried the second M.2 slot, and nothing. My first thought was that I had received a dead drive. I proceeded to plug in the drive to my old system to confirm my suspicion, but after getting past an American Megatrends error screen, my old system booted into the BIOS, and the M.2 drive was detected. So it's not the drive? Is the problem the M.2 slots on my new motherboard? Is there a compatibility issues somewhere, something I'm just not thinking of? Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Guys, my laptop was getting really slow lately, so I did a clean install of win10. I've been getting some weird error messages and crashes. I did some runs of formatting both drives and reinstalling windows to get it to even run windows without crashing or going into an infinite loading loop. Once it worked the windows setup was already really slow, but it worked with a lot patience. Now it's up and running, but it's worse than before. Mouseclicks and keystrokes take upwards of 10-15 seconds to register and I can't even open Options or Edge - it attemps loading for a minute or two and then the window closes automatically. The task manager does work though and it shows that the RAM sits at 10% all time and the CPU at single digits most of the time, although it sometimes spikes to 100% for less the a second. The Specs are: CPU: i5-3320M , RAM:16 DDR3 , GPU: some midrange M-chip from a few years ago , Drives: 2 HDDs 500GB and 750GB...sadly that's all I can say right now since I can't even get into the Options and I had the laptop quite some time. I know that isn't great specs for 2019, but I don't understand how it can perform this badly. (especially since the CPU and RAM seem to be barely utilized) If you could help me find out what's wrong and fix it iIwould be very grateful. I need the laptop for uni and I can't afford a new one. Thanks in advance and have a nice day :)

I am hoping someone could help me with this issue I am having with my CPU. Everything works perfectly fine, except for when I start to render my 3D models in Maya 2018. Playing games, watching YouTube, surfing the web all that is fine, except for when I start rendering. Maya itself runs fine. I only get issues when I render within Maya. However, before I installed the Ryzen 7 2700 it would work fine. I was using an old-ish Intel i5 CPU, but I decided to upgrade to the ryzen 7 CPU instead and now I get issue/freezes when I am rendering. I thought that maybe it was having problems when under full load or doing large computes, but I ran a Prime95 benchmark for 20-30 minutes and it was fine as well as the benchmark in ryzen Master. I seem to only get issues when rendering in Maya, so I don't know if that's some sort of different load or something on the CPU compared to the benchmarks. I also ran a Cinebench benchmark and randomly got two micro freezes while it was running however it still finished and was completely fine after. Also, the computer is not overclocked at all, it is just running everything at stock settings. Things I have tried and haven't worked: I have updated the BOIS (Version 1201) I have updated the chipset drivers I have updated my GPU Drivers (all tho that shouldn't matter as the render uses the CPU instead of the GPU). I have updated Maya I tried re-installing Maya as well I also tried installing Maya 2019 and it still happens there too I have tried the different power mode settings within windows. Windows is also fully up-to-date (None of these things worked) PC Specs: CPU: Ryzen 7 2700 (Watercooled) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix b450-f gaming RAM: G.Skill Flare-X 16GB of Ryzen DDR4 RAM GPU: Nvidia GTX 980 PSU: Corsair CX750 750W Power Supply SSD: 2x Samsung 860 EVO 500gb HDD: 2tb WD green hard drive I would very much like some help on this matter. I don't know if the CPU is faulty or not, but some help would be appreciated. Thank you

Hi everyone, so I stumbled upon something I had never seen before. My mother's laptop has recently been showing some strange behaviour. She is watching some videos on the internet, and it suddenly freezes. But it freezes completely. No Ctrl+Alt+Delete, no Alt+F4, no Alt+Tab, nothing. It responds to absolutely nothing. It doesn't even go to sleep if you close the lid, nor if you press the power button. But then, when you restart the computer it works as if nothing happened, only for it to freeze some random time later. The details for the laptop are: - Model: Acer Aspire ES1-533 - Processor: Intel Pentium CPU N4200 @ 1.10GHz - RAM: 4GB (DDR3) - Graphics: Intel integrated HD Graphics - SSD: /!\ This is the only thing that was ever modified on this laptop. I replaced the crappy 5400rpm 1TB HDD for a Crucial BX300 240GB SSD. The Windows 10 installation is also fresh from when the HDD was replaced with the SSD. Does anyone have an idea of what's going on? I've never seen anything like this... Cheers everybody Edit: It does forcedly shutdown if you press and hold the power button.

My system: (Brand new): Monitor: Acer Nitro XV272UP Motherboard: Asus TUF x570 plus with Wi Fi updated to newest bios 1.2 CPU: Ryzen 3700X GPU: Sapphire Pulse 5700 XT PSU: Corsair RMx 650 W Windows 10 (up to date) The Problem: So this happens completely randomly (mostly while I'm in desktop) my screen goes black and my PC is still running but unresponsive. After like half a minute I can start hearing my clicks or apps but the screen remains black. After the initial black screen everything freezes but after a while the PC resumes (at least the audio and the controls) but the monitor has no signal. This hasn't happened once while I was gaming, only when I'm idle, browsing or watching something. I have no idea what I have to do to cause this freeze on purpose, it's totally random. What I've tried: Updating all drivers to recommended versions (including bios). Had no effect at all. Stress testing CPU and GPU - everything is fine, the noise and the temps are normal. I used furmark and prime95 Unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back in Turning sleep mode off and on. This had no effect. The PC and monitor both wake up normally from sleep mode It's really frustrating that this is happening like 2 days after I've built my PC. I don't even know where to start looking for the cause of this problem. Are there any logs or diagnostics tools that I might run to find the root of this thing? Any ideas and suggestions would be appreciated. UPDATE 1 I am looking at my event viewer and trying to find crash logs. I'm not sure which ones I should be looking at because I didn't look at the time when the crashes happened but I believe that the crash log stating "Faulting application name: LightingService.exe, version: 0.0.0.0" is repeating itself around the same time when I get these black screens. Next time I experience a crash I will immediately go to the event viewer.

My roommate's PC has been experiencing Freezes repeatedly that have only gotten more frequent over time. The freezes are at random, occurring during games or after performing actions such as clicking on links, opening applications, etc. Sometimes the computer freezes and it requires him to completely turn off the rig and turn it back on. Other times it will display a blue screen and most of the time it will display the following error: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. He recently got the CPU looked at and fixed by a technician because it was giving him problems with frame rates, so we don't think it's that and I'm not comfortable enough with my thermal pasting abilities to want to switch his processor out with mine. The hardware temperatures appear to be normal. Here's a list of things we have tried: -sfc scan -Clean windows install -Replacement of RAM -Hard Drive replacement (He historically had problems with freezing on a previous build that used the same hard drive) -Fresh install of windows on new hard drive (actually crashed during setup) -Uninstalled and reverted drivers If you guys have any ideas as to what I can do or what you think it is, please let me know.

Just ordered the Asrock x570 Phantom Gaming 4 motherboard to go with the new Ryzen 5 3600 I bought. Also got a Samsung 970 evo plus. All of the other hardware in my rig is not new, and has been working for over a year. After installing windows smoothly, I can only get about 10-15 minutes of use before the system freezes. I can be either idling or running multiple tasks and always by ~15 minutes it freezes. I have tried one stick of my HyperX fury RAM in each slot on the motherboard, and the problem persists. I've messed around with the XMP profile (as best I know) and get no different results. I'm not sure if this seems like more of a motherboard issue or CPU issue. The system runs perfectly fine until it freezes. I even updated the BIOS to v2.0 and still have the issue. Any help or recommendations?
