Hello everyone, i recently built a new rig (ryzen 5 3600, gtx 1660 super gigabyte 3 fans, msi b450 tomahawk max, 16gb 3600mhz viper patriot, 256gb adata ssd, 2tb toshiba hdd, cooler master mb600l, and currently no psu ). I have a few problems with the rig, and one of them was an insane coil whine psu antec ne650m. I finnaly managed to return it and get my money back. So im looking to get a psu, but there is such a narrow selection in my country, there is no corsair or evga or even seasonic units. I found these two and im split between them. Be quiet! Straight Power 11 750w gold and the Fractal design ion+ 860p platinum. I need a silent psu. You can also suggest anything else and i might check it out, but im focused on these two right now. Thanks!

Hi. I had a problem with my last rig not posting after it took a less than 1 inch fall, so I got some new parts: Ryzen 7 3700x, X570 mobo, Fractal meshify c case, along with what I already had: Gtx 1080ti, Corsair vengeance 2x 16g memory, 1Tb ssd samsung 870. At first, I was getting no lights at all because I had the case's power switch in the wrong spot in the mobo, but now I (think) everything is in the right spot. So I put everything together and everything lit up and the fans spun for 2 seconds before stopping. There's also no post. I know some might think it's the gpu, but I did try directly connecting an HDMI to the mobo and the same thing happened. Can anyone figure out this conundrum? P.S. is a cpu supposed to have black gunk coming out of it? Also, the white stuff is thermal paste.

Hi all, I'm looking for the best fan configuration for a build. It's a Meshify C case and a H100i. It's the first time I'll have used liquid cooling and I'm not sure the best placement for it. My old build was 3 intake fans up front, exhausted top and rear. My understanding is that the radiator for the H100i will prevent air exhausting from wherever I put it (tell me if I'm wrong). So do I put it at the top and have the air go front to back, or visa versa? Thanks.

Hey! First post here Im looking at upgrading my 6yr old pc and I haven't paid too much attention to case designs up until recently. Fell in love with the H510 Elite design but reading about how the GPU or CPU suffer. My plan is to get the X63 cooler and front mount. Does anyone who already owns this case have any regrets? The alternative im looking at is the Meshify C, my goal is to get a white/black theme going Any advice would be awesome! Thanks!

Hi everyone, I just finished my first PC build and it's awesome! Got it to work on first boot. There is only one question which boggles my mind a bit, which is this: How can I get the three stock case fans that come with the Fractal Define R6 to adjust their speed according to load? My motherboard is the ASUS Z370-E. See two attached images for better understanding: Currently I have my two 4-pin CPU fans connected directly to the motherboard on headers CPU_FAN and CPU_OPT. They work just fine, adjusting their speed via PWM as CPU temperature increases. The three stock Fractal case fans which are all 3-pin are connected to the three 4-pin headers of the Define R6 fan hub which is in turn connected via 4-pin to the CHA_FAN1 header on the motherboard. I tried connecting the case fans to the 3-pin connectors on the hub first, but in that case the RPM didn't get reported at all, it showed as 0 even though the fans were spinning at 100%. Now RPM shows around 930 and it seems to be fixed no matter the load, even if I set CHA_FAN1 to DC manually in the BIOS. Does anyone know what I can do here so the 3-pin fans can at least be controlled via DC? Or is 930 RPM at idle acceptable for case fans? My main concern here is durability and longevity, noise is acceptable for me, it's not too loud. Thanks for your help!

Msi z170 gaming pro Corsair H80i MSI Gtx 970 I just changed my case from Corsair spec 03 to Fractal r6 Top 140mm exhaust, 2 front 140mm and 1- 120mm bottom(all 3 pin) Question is connecting this 4 fans to the R6 Fan Hub on the CPUFAN2 or SYSFAN3 I cant see the fan speed anywher hwmonitor, msicommander, corsair link4 nothing. Bios only show me 3 fans at 0 RPM

So some weeks ago, I purchased from amazon.de's warehouse/marketplace (I live in Spain) a Define R6 Blackout R6 TG, but when I finally could pick it, it was the standard Blackout, so no tempered glass. I have been always getting and building in cases without windows or tempered glass, so I wanted to make the switch. After some tickets, I got offered a 20% refund if I keep the case, or a 100% if I return it. After looking on Fractal's support page, I saw this page https://support.fractal-design.com/support/solutions/articles/4000114305-can-i-purchase-an-additional-tg-side-panel-or-additional-hdd-ssd-trays-for-the-define-r6- It says to basically spam them with the "I'd like to purchase a tempered glass for the R6 in the future" and they will start selling this, apparently. Returning it would be a pain in the ass, so I'm fine keeping it and waiting. So yeah, my request here would be if you (Define R6 user) would like to send them a ticket with the same suggestion, or maybe to point out another solution, like someone selling the panel on eBay.

So I'm looking to get the Meshify C to upgrade my PC, and I'm actually not a fan of PSU shrouds (I like seeing everything out in the open). Can anyone confirm if the ENTIRE shroud can be removed, or just that flap where the fan/rad goes in the front? Thank you!

Hi everyone, just looking to get some feedback on this planned build - I may swap the CPU for an 8086k depending on price/performance, but I am planning to order in 1-2 months and will miss the boat on 11x series GPU. I may decide to upgrade this 1080 ti to the 1180 ti when it is released in a year or so. The main use will be gaming (3440x1440p 120hz), with video editing coming in second. I will be overclocking (still deciding if I want to delid and go for 5ghz, otherwise I'll likely be happy at 4.7-4.8ghz). I am not overly invested in aesthetics but I am going for a black and white theme - I am considering changing the fans on the Noctua but need to find out if there would be any difference in performance. 1tb SSD is because the cost difference from 500gb isn't a whole lot and it will save some storage management as games get bigger and bigger. It will also allow me to edit from this drive. The Fractal Define R6 is receiving an upgrade in the coming months with a replacement front panel with USB 3.1 Gen2 A and C ports - this is partly why I have chosen the Taichi for the motherboard, as it comes with support for this. I will also be making use of the Flex VRC-25 to install the GPU vertically which makes so much more sense than the traditional orientation. If anyone has any feedback at all I'd love to hear it, hoping to have everything figured out by the time I am ready to order. Also if anyone has tips on cable mods/management to fit the B&W theme (even if it's just telling me which cables and stuff I can replace) it would be awesome. Howdy. Just getting together plans for my build refresh. Most of it's details are non important but I'll include what's all in their at the end of the post. I've decided to opt for the fractal s36 CPU cooler mounted in front of my case (360mm aio). My current GPU is a 980ti hybrid. It runs at 57deg Max on a 1550/4000 OC. So, cooling isn't a problem. But not being able to leave well enough alone, I want to change the cooler assembly , or, plan for my next card which will likely be a 1080ti when prices normalize. I've been very impressed with the gpus cooling ability with a 120 radiator. So, bigger has to be better, and if not, at least "cooler", as in the phonz, not necessarily temps ;). Really, I want to have a second s36 attached to the GPU exhausting from the top of the case. The easiest solution here appears to be the utilization of the nzxt g10/g12 bracket. I'm curious if anyone knows if the fractal(normal asestek mounting hardware and same as nzxt's in literature) will mount with that bracket. Worst case scenario, I spend a few bucks on the bracket to test myself, but I figured it was worth an ask first. A couple things: Yes, I know, custom loop or other modular options are better performing. Yes, I know, most all in ones are pretty homogenous and cheaply made etc. Fact is, it's more than sufficient for my current 7600k@4.9, and for my future 8700k at 5.0ghz. My build refresh is going into the fractal define r6 blackout TG. So, you see where I'm going with two fractal coolers, a brand fanboy build ;). Thanks all.

So I have a Corsair H80i GT and I am currently using Fractal Design's Dynamic GP-12s in a push/pull config. My temps at idle hover around 37c and 60c under load. I have it rear mounted in a Define Nano S with two Dynamic GP-14s on the front. I like these temps, but could I get better results with the extra static pressure of a fan specifically meant for radiators such as the Venturi HP-12s? Would the benefit justify the $30 or am I better off saving my money? I am also planning on upgrading to an ATX mobo in a Meshify C with some higher airflow intake fans. Any help is appreciated.

Is there any way (other than hunting down other R6 owners) to get additional HDD/SSD trays for Define R6? R6 is capable of 11x 3.5" and 4x 2.5" disks. But package includes only 6x 3.5" trays and 2x 2.5". It sucks. Especially considering R5 natively supported 8x 3.5" or 10x with simple generic 5" -> 3.5" adapter available everywhere.

Hi , im looking for a new project i have the money to start , but dont know how to start. Looking For: not to power hungry "power efficient ". Parts i currently have: Fractal Design - Node 804 MicroATX Mid Tower Case Silverstone - Strider Gold 450W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular SFX Power Supply Looking for the perfect drives for this kind of job because im planing to us ZFS but don't know ho to choose from Seagate wolf or western digital Reds . Update im looking to fill the racks to 16 or 32 on the long run sol lets start with 16 tb. Also i would like to have wireless access. Sooo im missing: Motherboard cpu ram drives cooler PS: currently im in a country were the price tag of an items goes "4x" after the 200 dollar mark. soooo yeah im gonna buy the parts one by one if necesary.

NZXT S340 Elite NZXT H400i ----------------------- What are really the BIG differences between these two cases (if there are any at all)? Fractal Design Meshify C Corsair 460X RGB Aesthetically they are all beautiful to me, so no problem there. The thing is I need a feedback from someone who has any one of these cases as a PROS and CONS list and not just a Youtube reviewer. I'm building a new PC (slowly but surely) and at the moment I have a huge case with too much space in it and it feels waste. So I decided to get a smaller one with tempered glass and these apparently are the best ones on the market right now? The pc will be air cooled with maybe a change down the line for the CPU, turning it into water cooled. Any help will be appriciated!

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/fractal-design-define-r6-tempered-glass-edition-case,5399.html I am actually pretty excited about this case. They seemed to have addressed everything that was off-putting (to me, anyways) about the R5. Has a lot of options and space for water cooling too, as long as you don't use internal HDDs. Is anybody planning picking this up when it hits stores/e-tailers?

Right, story time. When I built my current system two years ago, I laid my eyes on a Phanteks Eclipse P400, in white. It's a nice case, that's for sure, but I feel that my taste has changed somewhat and I prefer a more sleek and quiet case over a windowed "gamery" aesthetic. My system is fine otherwise, no upgrades planned for now, maybe a GPU upgrade down the road, so a case swap is the first thing to do. I've ordered a Define R5 because of the decent reviews and noise cancelling properties. More quiet fans will be ordered later if need be. What are your thoughts on the R5 in terms of building in it and how quiet it is with "normal", as in not optimised for noise, hardware? Thanks! P.S. My system specs in case you don't want to check my profile: Intel Xeon E3-1245v3 CPU - cooled by CM Hyper TX3 Evo 16GB DDR3-1600 generic Crucial RAM Asus GTX1060 6GB Dual OC Cooler Master G650M PSU Gigabyte H97-HD3 mobo Kingston UV400 240GB, Crucial M550 512GB and Intenso 120GB SSDs.

Hey! I love the 7700K, but it really needs to chill out if it wants me to not regret getting a 6700K and overclocking that. But really: I'm tired or 80 degrees, and want a D15. Unfortunately, if I can't run it with dual fans, I would rather just get an h100i. So I was wondering if I'd have RAM clearance for the D15. My RAM's unfortunately 44mm in height. Anyway, here's my current setup:

Hello everyone, I am interested how this CPU performs in fractal extreme, which is software that I used to use, to get an idea of how fast they are with this kind of workload. There is a benchmark tool available here: ftp://cygnus-software.com/pub/InfprecPerf.exe I would be grateful if someone could run the benchmark and post the results here. (Please mention which clockspeed if overclocked.) Benchmarks on any other CPU are also always welcome.

This is something that the Fractal fanboys will roast me for it, but I need to say this. So in my quest to find the balance between good temps and low noise in my Fractal Design R6 case, I realized that I never did one test to actually determine the correct settings. So last week I decided to set the case fans at 100% all the time to see just what difference that would make on the temps for the CPU, VRM and GPU. Because before that what I did was set the fans to run all the time at the lowest rpm that they would run at and through the bios set a fan curve so they can ramp up when temps get too high. I was trying to find the balance between noise and temps. That's why I even bought this case because I wanted silence. I even bought an a completely unnecessary overpowered power supply just to make sure I have silence so the fan won't turn on at idle. Anyway the fans that come with the case are the Dyncamics X2-GP14. So I decided to set the fans at 100% because I realized I never tested what would the best temps be if the fans of the case run at 100%. So I did and what I discovered blow me away pun intended. It made basically no difference at all. I saw a 2 degree difference, that's it. So I opened the panel and decided to put my hand behind the fan to see how much air they push. I felt nothing. They are completely pointless. The fans were running at 1000rpm and they might've been turned off and it would've been the same. It would've been better if I took them off and stuck my head in the front of the case and blow that would actually lower the temps. Not even blowing is required, just a breathing. Even the act of breathing would push more air than those fans. I know very well Fractal fans are going to attack me, I don't care so far I've had too many issues with my purchase and it pissed me off. I was a fan of this company, but not anymore. The more time I spent with my R6, the more I find things about it that are crap. I've spent 170$ with tax on it and regret every single dollar.

So This is the first build iv done in 10 years, and could use some advise about case pressure and optimizing my system. RED - 120mm Corsair LL120 fans White - 120mm Fractal fans Brown - 140mm Noctua Fans Im wondering if this would be a good way to orient the fans, specifically the Corsairs at the top.
