  1. i need help: my system is: motherboard b760m asus tuf ddr5. cpu: i5 13600k. radiator: lian li Galahad Trinity 2 240 aio. fan case: came with the fractal pop air mini default 3 fans 120mm argb. i cant control these fane i try to plug it to cpu fan.. not working sys fan not working. I'm using "Fan control" software. i need a guide how to control them if anyone else having the same issue i would like to get an answer and help to that. ty very much.
  2. I'm building a PC using the Fractal Pop Air case, the system is all air cooled and I have a Hyper 212 as a CPU cooler. I was wondering what's the best setup for the case fan. Right now I'm thinking of 2 intake fans at the front and 3 exhaust fans (2 at the top & 1 at the back). Would that be good enough? For the case fans I'm thinking of getting the Cooler Master Masterfan MF120, do suggest if there are better alternatives for decently priced RGB fans.
  3. I'm choosing parts for a new pc and need some advice for the case: - White color - ATX or M-ATX - Noctua D15 - RTX 4070ti - PSU Corsair RM1000e - Fit a 1 x 3.5" HDD Where I live it's very warm in summer so looking for a case that has the possibility to put fans under the GPU, my favorite candidate was the Fractal Design Torrent Compact, but I've read the problems with cable management so looking for similar sized alternatives Suggestions?
  4. I wanted to build the quietest air-cooled PC at reasonable price with DDR5 for snappy response - therefore AMD this time. There is not much to say except for the "butcher mods" 1. RTX got new thermal pads from Thermal Grizzly - minus pad 8 and Noctua thermal paste. I had to put a fan next to it, because it is too passive now and want to give it some quiet airflow while still on the bench 2. Ryzen Wraith stock fan assembly replaced with Noctua fan, and 7700 itself is undervolted to negative 50, just sipping power, with minimal heat, it is running 1200 rpm most of the time while doing office work. 3. RAM is set to 6000 - there may be some room for improvement, but I have no idea how to do it right. Here is a bench - it works great at this config - 100% stable: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/60919192 Plans for near future to make it even more quiet and complete: Noctua NH-U12A chromax.black - as CPU fan is the loudest thing right now. Fractal Torrent Compact - to have good airflow at low fan RPM.
  5. Can I run this setup? The side fan bracket is adjustable and can be set to low, middle and high in the case. There might not be clearance to run the side fans low with a 40 series GPU, so I might need to run them high like shown in the photo. I feel like having intake fans so close to the top exhaust fans wouldn't provide much benefit. Any advice is appreciated. The Build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/x7cykJ
  6. I recently built in a Fractal Torrent Nano. I've plugged the front ARGB fan into the 5v 3pin ARGB header on my Aorus B550i AX motherboard and it works fine. I then daisy chain the rear fan to it and it also works fine. But if I add the led strip that's on the PSU shroud, the front fan RGB flickers every so often. If I remove the rear fan and just use the front fan and the RGB strip then it's fine. And if I use just the fans, it's fine. It's only if I connect all 3 that I have issues. The header on the motherboard is capable of supplying 3A, and according to Fractal, the fans should only take 0.6A and 0.3A for their RGB. So unless the PSU strip takes over 2A, it shouldn't be the number of devices that are the issue. I've opened a support ticket with Fractal, but I was wondering if anyone here had any suggeetions
  7. Hello LTT community! Over the weekend my girlfriend gave me a Fractal Terra as a birthday present! I’ve wanted a SFX case for as long as I’ve known about Dan’s Case… My only complaint about Dans case (me being in the US) was availability and how long the design process took… I watched the C4 case go through a lot of iterations from 2017-2023… Needless to say, I never built a SFX build before. Until I heard about the Fractal Terra, announced at Computex 2023! I actually caught GNexus video about it the week of Computex, and immediately started obsessing over it. My girlfriend got the hint. I’m glad she chose the black color, as it goes with my normal aesthetic… I tested out my MSI RTX 3080 Trio, which required removing the riser cable and mount from the case. It was a tight squeeze. While I put it back in, I managed to get the Fractal Terra spine to adjust to the 3rd position. According to the manual, this should allow for up to 67mm of clearance for the CPU cooler… originally I thought I’d only be able to have the spine set to the 4th position, with the allotment of 62mm of clearance… For CPU cooling, I opted for the Noctua L9a-AM4, which only takes up 37mm of space… I could have gone with a Noctua NH-L9x65 which would have filled that space… Oh well! I already ordered the smaller of the two I currently have an open bench frame as a case using a micro ATX mobo… so I had to order a mini itx mobo. I will be reusing much of the components from my original PC, such as the Ryzen 3600, 32GB of DDR4, and the m.2s and 2.5GB SSDs. Also, since this is a new SFX build, I opted for the Silverstone SX1000 Platinum… a bit overkill, but I wanted to future proof this build in case I find a deal on a 40 series RTX card. I’ll update this thread when I receive components to install. Feedback is welcome, I’m mostly writing this build thread for anyone curious about this case.
  8. I got Fractal meshify 2 compact which has 2 fans at front 140mm (1000rpm) and 120mm in the back. All of them 3 pin. Because my 3080 is a big boy, im pretty sure its running quite hot, because of not enough airflow/deadzone for the gpu. I bought value pack of Arctic P12 PWM PST some time ago so now i have 2 choices. 1) keep the stock fans and just add 1x P12 at the front + 1x P12 on bottom for intakes 2) add the front and bottom, but also change those stock 140mm for P12s I understand that 140mm are overall better pick over 120mm, but i also read that people change their fractal stock fans asap. Also their max rpm is 1000 rpm while P12 max at 1800 rpm and 3 pin vs 4 pin. I dont really care about the noise, my main goal is to get rid of the heat. Please share your opinion. Thanks a lot
  9. Purchased all of my parts for a new build — waiting on everything else to get here, but wanted to look into the case I got yesterday and figure out the RGB hub in the meantime. I almost returned the case last night, but I think I can make it work, it’s only my second build. I am STRESSED — do I need to even use the RGB/fan hub? Can I control the RGB of the fractal fans that come with it AND my Corsair h150i elite lcd AIO through the hub? And if I decide not to use the fan hub, do I still need to plug it in via the sata/pwm? Or am I just better off doing the fans on their own, and the AIO via the command core that comes with it? I know ultimately I still have to plug in the front I/o sata connection, but just not sure what the right step is here. The manual directions have to be the most vague I’ve come across. I know this is a super loaded ask, but any feedback is appreciated.
  10. I am planning to build a PC in the new Fractal North case. I won't have enough space for a 360 radiator along with a 40 series GPU, but I've seen a build where the person mounts their 280 radiator sideways (level with the CPU) on the mesh version of the case and have been considering doing the same. Otherwise I will be forced to buy a 240 radiator and mount it on the top side of the case. My question is if mounting the AIO sideways would kill it/my CPU faster? Attached is the the build I spoke about (source: https://pcpartpicker.com/b/46BcCJ )
  11. I'm having an issue with the RGB strip on my Fractal Torrent RGB. I reached out to Fractal but was trying to troubleshoot in the meantime. For some reason it is flickering with different colors, especially when it is set to a single color. Ex: when it is set to red it flashes blue and red like a cop car. I checked all my connections and they seem good to go and the strip is chained together with all the Fractal RGB case fans and all the case fans are doing fine. Thoughts?
  12. I have a case. It's garbage. Building my PC the first time was a nightmare, but I thought my troubles might be done then. Unfortunately I've had to repeatedly replace/ relocate a number of components that are always a pain to reach, just recently I got a new motherboard which turned out to be broken and have to return that in 1 week but the replacement's coming in 2. The thought of replacing the motherboard in this case twice in as many weeks filled me with dread, so I'm just buying a new case now. I've narrowed it down to the Fractal Torrent and the Fractal Meshify 2, I'm curious about your opinions on each. I'm a fan of the look of the Torrent, how it's spacious enough to fit any cooling solution I might want (though I'm fairly certain I'll stick with my NH-D15) and that it already comes with some decent fans in a good config, no need to upgrade or mess with them. With the Meshify 2 there's no worries about running out of room for storage. Not that that's a major issue, I've got the one HDD and I have no plans to get more, but the real draw is honestly that removable top panel. After all the pain I've been through building that sounds like a godsend. I'm not overly concerned about the price as the difference will probably be bridged by the amount I'd have to spend on fans to get the Meshify to perform on par with the Torrent. I'm undecided at the moment so I was hoping to hear other's thoughts on the matter. I'm willing to hear alternative suggestions but before you make any note: 1. this is a somewhat time sensitive matter and both of these are available locally 2. I've never been a fan of glass side panels honestly and the fact these are high performers with an opaque side panel option was a big draw.
  13. Ahoy! (I hope this is the right category for this?) It's late at night and that means I am ready to upgrade my computer. I have acquired a Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler to replace my Stock AMD cooler, as well as a new case; the Fractal Design Meshify 2 Compact - or as I like to call it: a mouthful. I am prepared to build it, I got all kinda tools and everything, but I wanted to ask the community, what would your steps be to take on this endeavor? I hope me asking this isn't trivial or whatever, I am just a bit nervous is all. This is my first time doing a case transfer. Thank you for your help! EDIT: The upgrade has been completed! I successfully installed the new CPU Cooler and swapped all my components into the new case. It is wonderfully quiet and works flawlessly now. I will now note however the things that caused me issues or other noteworthy things: Firstly, the fact that there are 300 billion types of screws that came shipped with the case, are not labelled. I mean if you look in the manual it vaguely says what the screw is and where it goes, but the shape is not always clear.. I am still not completely sure if I installed the right screws into the MB, but they screwed in smoothly, so I guess it's fine? Talking about the screwing in, it was a nightmare. The screwholes barely aligned unless I forced the MB to rotate just enough so that the screws could fit inside. And what also did not help, was the fact that the top center screw could not be screwed in, as the cooler interfered with it. Sooo now I am missing one screw but I guess it's fine? Also the center screw could not be used. There's this nipple thing in the case which protrudes outwards, so that one screw would not be necessary. Soo now I have two screws laying about collecting dust I guess. Whatever. What was also a bit nightmarish was the power button. These tiny single-pin connectors were so tough to plug inside.. and to *stay* inside. What also didn't help was the location of the SYS-FAN1 connector. It's near the center of the MB. And the cable for the front-fans is too short to reach, soo I can't really control them in Dragon Center. If I were to get some fan hub I guess I could control them, but I honestly don't think that's necessary. That's it. It took me about four hours in total, from disassembling the old case and components to inserting them all in the new one. It was an enlightening experience, and I am very happy with the outcome. I would like to thank the user kb5zue for assisting me in this process. It is people like him that help me reinforce the belief, that nice people do exist out there, and we can all come together to help each other out, even the inexperienced. Thank you so very much. This is Ralph, signing out.
  14. Hello everybody, I am getting a Meshify 2 Compact and I would like to know if it is better for me to use the the two Dynamic X2 gp-14 that come with the case or two Venturi HF-14 that are currently being used in my Meshify C (they are currently 4 years old). Which ones should I choose?
  15. Hi everybody, I'm planning on traveling to Germany on september and I'm considering buying a new PC case for my computer. The one the I currently have is the Meshify C, which is a wonderful case, but is has several problems design-wise, like the front panel flter which is a pain to clean, and a little bit of damage. By damage I mean that some of the pcie screws are stripped (the two ones that hold the gpu on the x16 slot). Anyways, I plan on buying a Meshify 2 Compact Dark TG and bring it on my checked luggage. I'm traveling with my little brother so his checked baggage will be mostly empty aside from clothes. The question is, it is doable and worth the hassle? Buying it in my country (Uruguay), is almost impossible without importing it from overseas, and taxes are outrageously high so buying it would be more than double the price of the pc case.
  16. Budget (including currency): Any Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: 80% Office Work, 20% Gaming Other details: GPU: 3080 Founders Edition, CPU 10700K (no-oc) Trying to decide to wedge in the big Fractal AIO (360MM) or just use the Noctua D15S (I need the offset as I have taller Vengence Pro RGB RAM)
  17. Hi Currently i got a define r5, it's a very nivel case which it's my actual pc. I'm planning to build a new nas storage - cloud storage and/or 3d rendre node from my previous build and i was searching for the last model of the Define RX series. R6 has some years now. R6 Is the latest release ? I Can also consider the Next Gen lian li 011D. Very nice case in papier but Can find a y comments about the actual 011D I apreciate your comments Thanks
  18. hi i have a fractal r6 case with a 5800x in it and my fractal s36 just isnt cooling enough anymore so im looking into the arctic freezer 420mm aio it does say in the manual that you can fit a 420mm rad in the top with the open layout but my problem is i have alot of hard drives so im using the standard layout is anyone using the fractal r6 with a 420mm rad in the top and standard layout if so how did you make it fit?
  19. Requirements - 1) 8 HDD space 2) should be able to use AIO with 240 or 360 radiator when 8 HDD are mounted and are in use. 3) motherboard I am gonna use is ASUS DARK HERO. Case I am considering right now is 1) fractal's meshify 2 xl (bcuz of it's modularity) Q)can I have fans (noctua) on front mesh while 8 HDDs are mounted + an AIO of 360mm length on top panel (inside the case ofcourse) or do I have to remove those fans if I have to mount 8 HDDs? Q) which AIO do u recommend if I want a screen on it which can show CPU,GPU temps? Thanks you very much in advance.
  20. While doing a thorough inspection of the cables I noticed the audio cable came protective rubber came punctured and scratched. Didn’t notice any shiny reflection of copper or aluminum while pointing a flash, but still I not sure if it exposed the cable itself. I would like to know if it’s safe to leave it like this because it I don’t want to put any sort of electrical tape on it (it turns gooey after a while) Here are some photos:
  21. Bought a Fractal Celsius S36 late 2017 or early 2018. it had a premature pump failure about 2-3 months later and they shipped a replacement to me. That one's been running like a champ in my system since then (and still is). Since it's coming up on 5 years and that's Fractal's warranty on this product, I'm wondering if I should consider swapping it as I'll have the system disconnected while I'm swapping CPUs. Or, is it like most things and I should stop thinking about it until it actually fails or its cooling capabilities become substandard? My first (well, technically second) AIO, so I'm curious if people view AIO warranty as the cutoff point for trusting it or not.
  22. Hi i have the Define R5 case from Fractal with the two Originals 140mm 1000rpm 3pins fractal fans at the front and a noctua redux140mm 1500rpm at the rear. Inside the case in have the noctua nh-d15 air CPU cooler for my 5950x CPU. Then recently i bougth a MSI RTX SUPRIM X 3090 Graphic Card. I was worry about temps because where il live we reach 40°c easely during Sumner. I would like to know your advice about this. I'm considering buying the Fractal Define Torrent OR add two Noctua fans NF A14 PWN 1500RPM at the front and place the two Originals fans from Fractal at thé bottom but i doubt if this is more appropriated than buying the Torrent case. Or if its going to add more air into thé case or not. If you have other case option i would appreciate it Thanks in advance.
  23. Budget (including currency): A$2500 Country: Australia Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light video editing, multimedia, light gaming (no AAA games) Other details I built my first pc in 2015 ..... It's served me well but I feel it's time to hit beast-ish mode. I bought new case last week (Fractal Define 7 Compact), although the fans would be ok I'm replacing them with BeQuiet fans. I got email yesterday my parts have been shipped so I'm very stoked for next week's fun. Here are my beast's organs :-)) MOBO - MSI MAG Z690 Tomahawk Wi-Fi DDR5 A$399 CPU - Intel Core i7 12700 (non K (don't @ me lol (saving A$90 and I've never overclocked))) A$549 CPU COOLER - BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 (with LGA1700 mounting kit) A$229 RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz CL36 DDR5 A$369 STORAGE - Samsung 980 Pro 1TB M.2 (boot drive) & Samsung 980 1TB M.2 (additional storage) (no 2.5 SSD or HDD) A$378 PSU - BeQuiet Pure Power 11 1000w A$239 CASE FANS - Front 2 x Silent Wings 4 140mm PWM 1100rpm, Rear 1 x Pure Wings 2 120mm PWM 1500rpm A$97 will go for positive pressure running front at 100% 13.6 (dB(A)) and drop rear fan to 900rpm. COST TO DATE - A$2395 I have already prepped the case, removed case fans, run front i/o cables to where they'll be needed, and removed HDD drive cage. I'm going to hold off on GPU till end of year and reuse my ASUS Strix GTX970 in the meantime :-((( I'll add photos to this next week, I'll try to do a better job at internal cable management this time around lol (refer previous build) Photos added. A lot of sag on the GPU but that's what happens when you get old. exceot for the power LED and an annoying power LED on the GPU (will fix that with some electrical tape lol) it's totally blacked out and incredibly silent.
  24. Hi, my CPU (i5-12600kf) is getting higher idle temps than usual and thermal throttles under load. It is not overclocked and running with idle settings and XMP! I have a Fractal Lumen S36 AIO and in the past it has always worked fine. For a few days I have noticed my fans ramping up under little to no load and checked the thermals. The idle temps ranged from mid to high 40s when in the past the y used to be in the low to mid 30s. Under full load (doing a stress test) my CPU reaches 100° and thermal throttles. The cooling tubes feel warm to the touch but the radiator is cold. The pump appears to be working though as it shows up in both BIOS and HWMonitor with its usual 4000rpm. I even tested it by unplugging it from the motherboard and booting into bios, where my CPU temp was 50 and climbing (i checked before with pump plugged in and it was low 30). So both the pump and the readouts should be correct and working right? I initially thought that the latest win 11 update broke something for me but I uninstalled it and nothing changed. I just installed ARGB lighting to my case, which is the only hardware change I made to my computer in the past few months. but with the light strips disconnected from the motherboard there is no change in behaviour either. UPDATE: I updated my BIOS and did the same CPU stress test, my temps peaked at 86° and idle sits at around 40. I don't know if its fixed but I will keep you updated. For now it seems to be working like usual though. I will change my thermal paste to Coolermasters MasterGel Pro V2 and see if that makes a difference. In case that doesn't work, I have already contacted Fractal and will work on a solution with them aswell, should not take long as their customer service is great from my experience so far.
