Fractal Design R5 Black w/ Window (Newegg) - $80 There's been a backorder on the Define R5 Black w/ Window (not the Blackout) on Newegg since Saturday. Generally, Newegg closes purchase of items until they are back in stock, but I'm guessing that they got a deal and have left the case on backorder for purchase to be billed on the day of handling. I've heard a great deal of this case from several forum members and have decided to jump on this deal. Hopefully it goes through.

Right now I'm finding the right parts for building a PC. But right now I'm stuck with which cooler to buy. Currently, I've opted for a Fractal Design Node 202 HTPC case, an intel i7 6700k, a Zotac GTX 1070 mini and an ASUS Z170I Pro Gaming mIni ITX motherboard. So out of the following list of coolers, which one is best for low to mild overclocking? https://pcpartpicker.com/products/cpu-cooler/#qq=1 And also is my motherboard also good for low to mild overclocking?

Hello, I'm wondering why my PC makes so much noise. If I have all the settings on ultra 1080p, it just seems as if I'm sitting next to a plane. How do I fix it? Which part of my PC makes so much noise? What should I replace? HOW CAN I MAKE IT QUIETER?! Hey guys, I've got a Fractal Design S36 (360mm) AIO. I am planning on getting a EKWB loop for my PC. I have heard that the radiator used on the S36 can be reused? If this is the case would I need some special fittings, or would the ones EKWB sell fit?

So I've ordered these 140mm dust filters + screws from aliexpress for my Fractal design core 2500 But I didn't thought about how I'm going to secure the screws. What do you think would be a good solution?

First of all, hi everyone and thanks in advance, my name is Marco and I decided to build the second computer of my life and I'm having a question about CPU temperatures. Here are the specs, so that I can explain better later on: Case: Fractal Design Node 202 with Integra 450W PSU; Motherboard: Gigabyte Ga-H270N-WiFi; CPU: Intel i5-7500; CPU Cooler: Cryorig C7; RAM: 1x8GB Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4; SSD: Crucial MX300 M.2 Sata, 275GB; HDD: Hitachi Travelstar 1TB 2.5 7200RPM; Graphics Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 1060 6GB Windforce Fans: Two Fractal Design 120mm PWM fans. Sorry I can't remember the name. I think that's all. So now, I want to describe the "problem" that I have. I'm having higher CPU temps than I was expecting with an aftermarket CPU Cooler. AIDA64, at idle, gives me a reading of around 34°C (about 93° F). Now, I know that this is not that bad and I know that the case is actually really small so temps can be tricky to handle, but, still, given that I have something like 20°C (68° F) in my room I think that it's too high. I checked the CPU Cooler and it's not moving or anything (of course the fan is moving, I mean the actual cooler is sitting still over the CPU) and I think I applied the right quantity of thermal paste (the one provided by the CPU Cooler). Cable management is as good as it can be in such a tiny case. I tried to run AIDA64 stress test for 10 minutes and the max temperature that I got was 57°C (134°F). That, again, is not disastrous, but higher than what I was expecting. GPU temps are actually pretty good, so no problem there. Is there anyone that can explain such readings? Am i being paranoid for no reason? Sorry if I made any mistake but I'm actually Italian, so my English might be not perfect. If this is a silly question I'm sorry. Thanks again, I hope someone can give me an advice.

Hello peeps! This is a really awesome project I helped with. My friend needed a new gaming rig, so I helped him build his new system from across the nation. I made him name it after the Mad Max car because I loves the new movie. He built it, overclocked it, and is enjoying alot more power from his gaming rig. More to come soon, but here is the video he made.

So I've pretty much decided to build in the node 804 (I like cubes), and by pretty much I mean I'm just waiting for it to be delivered. I do have a few loose ends to deal with; I'm definitely going with an AIO watercooler and I like the look of NZXT's Kraken x52 BUT I've only just realised that if you take out both drive cages on the right side of the case (which I probably won't populate anyway), you can fit a 280mm AKA the Kraken x62. The only problem with this is that the pump would have to reach around into the main compartment to mount of the CPU, meaning it would have to fit through the cable management hole at the front of the case. So, long story short, could anyone with experience of either (hopefully both) of these items - the Kraken and the node - help me out? Will the Kraken pump 1) fit through the hole into the main compartment? And 2) reach the CPU and be mountable WITHOUT stretching the tubes? Cheers for any/all answers

Hi, I hope to get some advice on my following choice: I want to upgrade my "Zalman Z9 Plus" case with stock fans to a more silent one. I can get a second hand "Fractal Design Define XL" for fairly cheap. Only to my knowledge this case does not have any sound dampening material in the top of the case. I can also choose for a "Define R4". But people say it has not the best airflow in comparison to the "Define XL". Can someone tell me how silent these cases are? And if they have some good airflow? (the xl version has two extra case fans included) Thanks in advance for your answer! UPDATE: I bought the "Define R4". It is way smaller than the "Define XL" and it still is big enough to easily build your system in. Now that the noise from my case fans are gone I'm hearing the fan from my powersupply. So I think I'm going to mod my powersupply with a diffrent more silent fan.

Hello everyone, : ) I've been using the same old PC for the past 9 years and so far I did not had to do anything more than maintenance every now and than.. Its been running a Quad CPU (Q8400 @ 2.66Ghz) overclocked at 3.5 since day 1 (Air cooled, temps in the 37Idle-58Load range) with 8 GB of DDR2 and a GTX 260 from Gainward, everything on Asus P5E-Deluxe... nothing special so far. But with the increase demand from applications and games I felt the urge to start something new.. something "solid". Something that can offer both great gaming and raw power when I'm rendering one of my videos in Vegas Pro, edit a photo in Photoshop, Lightroom or make a funny intro in After Effect or just play "techy" with 8 or more VM's open at the same time simply because my curiosity never stops to push me even further I decided to open this topic here in the hope that you will be able to help me take the right decisions in what is to become my PC for the next years. So Fractal Announced a new case and it looks nice, its a bit flashier than normal fractal cases but still simple enough to fit their design ethos. According to fractal designs website the atx version will come in black, white, blue, grey, and red. And the matx version will come in black. Guru 3d has a review here. The main highlights are as follows. (edited for clarity) Gallery Pictures are from the review (More pictures also available.) it looks to be a decent budget case with an acrylic side panel, two decent white led fans, potentially being an ideal case for modding. With a clean but not boring look to it. Its main benefits: Color options Cheap cost Decent fans Large acrylic side panel window Captive thumbscrews for the side panels Decent radiator support Made by fractal so it wont be horrible Main draw backs seem to be: The top 5.5" drive bay is riveted The dust filters seem clunky to clean Only one USB 3 port on the front Awkward drive bay layout behind the power supply No rubber grommets for the cable cut outs Case metal and front panel plastic do not perfectly match Honestly there aren't any quality reviews for the case just yet so I am looking forward to Gamers Nexus and or Hardware Canucks reviewing it. Its been a pretty low key announcement, but it is a budget case Also of note Newegg has a product page with a release date of June 2nd with a $70 US price tag on the Atx version and a $50 US for the matx version. (Black and White only, Colors pending) One reviewer has said the case feet are plastic, though this review claims they are rubber.

OC with a modest AIO, what can I expect?
PineyCreek posted a topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I'm trying to figure out how much TDP this AIO is rated for and if it could be a potential bottleneck to the OC. It's the Fractal Design Celsius S36. Here's what I know about it: Pump can hit 3k RPM 30mm thick, 360mm radiator, aluminum copper cold plate expandable, but not a good platform to do so with. It's going to go on top of a Ryzen 7 1700 (65W TDP stock) and then I'm going to start ramping things up to see what kind of stable OC I can get. Will this budget AIO get me into trouble if I try more than say 3.8 GHz? Before responding, I already have the AIO.- 1 reply

Here's a short one, does anyone know if the Fractal Design Node 304 has a Kensington Lock slot (or any lock for that matter)? Their site doesn't mention one and I can see a little notch on the back, but I can't tell if it's a lock slot.

I built my first PC a while ago out of old hardware that I was given. It has an Intel Core i3 2100 cpu which I found is actually quite old, but it still runs everything that I need really easily. Basically I just do homework, watch LTT, write things like this and edit and view photos, but nothing I do (running Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro) seems to push the CPU over 20% utilisation. It is built in a Fractal Design Core 1000 case with an AsRock H61M/U353 motherboard and two 4gb 1067mhz DDR3 RAM DIMMS. There is a 2.5 inch 320gb WD Blue SATA hard drive for storage which came from my old laptop.

Got a new case a couple of days ago (fractal nano s) and my 980 ti strix seems to be choking, due to the close proximity to the PSU. This has caused my build to be extremely loud when doing moderate GFX tasks(moderately stressful games etc.). Would getting a G10 GPU Bracket and a x41 or something similar be able to fix this issue since i'll be moving the position of the GFX's intake?

Hello everybody. I'm a big fan of Fractal Design's cases, mainly because of their Scandinavian-style design and their cable management, but there's one problem; none of their cases currently feature tempered glass. This is a big bummer for me as I'd really love having a tempered glass case to show off my build. I know there are ways to mod the case and add tempered glass, but it seems like a whole lot of work with a lot of chances for error. The Fractal Design Define Mini C is pretty much perfect for me, other than it not having a TG side panel, which begs the question; when will Fractal Design, practically the only case manufacturer who hasn't started making TG cases, jump on the bandwagon as well? And is there any other very similar option out there for me that does feature TG and is Micro ATX? This is meant to be more of a discussion thread, so any input is appreciated. Cheers!

I recently put all components into this define r3 i got from my dad. I was thinking of upgrading motherboard, cpu, cpu cooler and ram. But knowing you can't actually put a radiator at the top inside of the case without having the fans on the top outside of it. I was wondering if i should remove the drive cages (Therefore possibly compromising structural integrity) and mod the 240/280 mm radiator into place at the front. Or if i should just forget about modding the case and just having a 140 mm radiator at the back of the case. I want you to know taking out the drive cages would be simple even though i have never modded any case, and i could surely find a way to mount the radiator. The only part i am worrying about is where to put the hdd, and how structurally safe the case is without any drive cages to keep it sturdy.

So I've basically gotten all my parts and just trying to figure out which case to get. The biggest things I look for in a case is that it's "quiet" and can prevent or deal with dust. The two cases I'm looking at are the Fractal Design Define S vs the Phanteks Eclipse P400s. Any thoughts on these two or is there a better alternative? My max budget for a case is $90 but preferably $75 if possible. Fractal Design - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811352055&cm_re=fractal_design-_-11-352-055-_-Product Phanteks - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16811854032 Edit: Just wanted to say that I'm leaning towards the Phanteks in terms of aesthetics, but if there's anything I don't know about I might go to the Fractal.

Bought used Define R4 and it came with more than OEM fans. So now I have some selection. I'm going for 2 in, 1 out config with all fans controlled with mobo and Speedfan. Fans I have: 1x140mm, 1x120mm OEM NZXTs. These I won't be using. 2x200mm OEM NZXTs. Same as above. 2+1x140mm Bitfenix Spectre Pro. Have 2 of these in current config. 1x140mm OEM Fractal. 1x140mm Fractal Design Silent Series R2 and 1x140mm R3. 1x140mm Corsair AF white with red ring, one corner is broken. This I won't be using. Which ones I should use from FD and Bitfenix fans to achieve best overall results? NZXT and Corsair I probably try to sell or giveaway.

As of posting this, that rig has already been torn apart and transformed back to an air-cooled rig for the time being, the GTX 980 was traded for a R9 390x, and it's noisy. I've contemplated for several days, if I even wanted to do an upgrade, and which platform I would go to if I were to upgrade. An AsRock Z97 Extreme6 and an i7 5775c was my primary choice as I didn't have to change the memory, but for the price of a 5775c, I couldn't do it. Other option was x99, but the motherboard were expensive, and buying new RAM was also expensive, but an i7 5820k was much cheaper than a i7 5775c and has more raw power, so there was that factor. But what set my path with x99 was the fact I found a lightly used Asus X99 Deluxe at my local Microcenter for 161.96USD and my girlfriend was willing to sponsor me for the DDR4. So here I am with this build log. Yes, the system will be watercooled, but it won't be anytime soon. Still got Project Mochii to finish...
