Hello! I am currently working on a custom hard lined water loop with EKWB quantum reflection 2 for the Lian li 011D evo. (Inverted) I am struggling to find a fitting that is small enough to fit in between my distro plate and bottom fan. With my measurements I have roughly 3/4”(19mm) of space to get a 90 into. My EKWB rotary fittings won’t fit and I’m having trouble finding anything with less than a 20mm installed height. I’m hoping there is a rotary option out there because none rotary 90 fitting would looks horrible if it doesn’t happen to sit perfectly vertically when fully installed. I’m open to any suggestions from the water cooling veterans! Here is a picture to hopefully give a better idea of my situation. (P.S. 14mm hardline tubing)

So long story short I'm looking for a way to adapt (female) 'standard M5' (this is what I was told by the seller) to anything that I can put a QDC fitting on. The Idea is something similar to that Asus laptop where the laptop and the dock has QDC fittings (but obviously less official), I found 1/8" QDC fittings from Koolance but the only threaded option is standard G 1/4 which is much larger (which is find except I also can't find and adapters to that...) and 1/8" NBT (which I also can't find an adapter for). What I'm probably going to have to do is just put 1/8" QDCs inline between the laptop and the pump/rad and just connect them together when not in use but I'm trying to avoid that xD I have very little experience with this kind of stuff so I'm hoping someone knows more about it and can help, thanks!

Hey guys, I'm trying to finish my parts order for my custom loop. I'm planning on connecting my loop to an external mora3 radiator and I wanted to have the hard tubes from the top of the distroplate reach over the back of the case and connect the hard tubes to soft tubing (zmt) type tubes and from there reach to the d5 pump that I'm attaching to the radiator. My problem is that I don't know what fittings or size tubing I need to connect my 14mm acrylic tubing from EK in order to do this. I had some help in discords but I'm trying to finish the ordering process and I wasn't able to get clarification. So far from what I understand is that I need x2 f-f adapter but after that im completely lost. I listed my current parts list order so feel free to critique but I'm pretty set with the list so far. I understand that the distroplate isn't made for my case but I'm trying to see if I can mount it anyway. The dimensions will fit but I expect that the mounting screws on the back might not and that I might need to make adjustments to the case in order to make it fit. If it doesn't I can still return it. I drew a picture with how I planned on having it sit on my desk, I do have enough desk space to fit both the case and the rad. Thought I'd share my thought process on this a bit more. I saw some guy cut a hole in the mora feet for his hard tubing to pass through, I thought it was a cool idea and that I might try that out as well.

So I am doing a build for a friend, and he got 1/2'' ID, and 3/4'' OD fittings for his build, and due to COVID I don't want to go exchange them in the store. I have 1/2'' ID and 5/8'' OD tubing laying around, is that possible to use in compression fittings, or should I get the same sized tubing labeled on the fittings (1/2'' ID, 3/4'' OD)? Okay so: I am trying to get Thermaltake pacific rgb fittings to work with Asus aura sync. The rgb on the fittings are simply 5V non-addressable rgb series. So now I have 3 options: 1. Adding resistor to the 12V header to split the voltage. The problem is that I would like to find a safe and reliable way to do so (e.g. no exposed wires or fragile connections). Also, a different resistor is needed for different number of fittings chained in parrellel. 2. Using the molex 5V connection The problem is like the above: I potentially need to damage the cabling to do so. 3. Using the 5V ADD pin to feed the 5V The problem of this is that I do not know if my motherboard will like it, because there will be a net current out at the 5V ADD headers and a net current in at the 12V RGB header. Hey everyone, I am going to start my first water cooling project and I want to start it right. I want to save money and get the A240G from EK and not use the soft tubing at all and go straight to hard tubing. My question is can I use the fittings from the a240g on hard tubing (going to be petg). If you have any easy ways to bend hard tubing without a heat gun I will be glad to hear about it too. Lol was going to heat the tubing with my graphics card (Gtx 1070 Fe), but I don't want to overheat my card so much. Thank you, MikeMagee02

Hey guys, I know I am pestering you with questions, but I just want to make absolutely sure that I don't screw up since it's my very first time I do custom water looping. I am building my own custom water reservoir and I am at the point of drilling holes in one of its walls and I am wondering what size the holes should be: everywhere I see that 11.8mm is the standard, but I have a drill step bit that only does either 11 or 12mm. Would either of them be ok too or does it really listen that narrowly? Thanks! Gr, John

Hello, I am considering buying these fittings: Thermaltake Pacific RGB G1/4 PETG Tube 16mm OD 12mm ID fittings . I am going to use soft tubing however on the website it only talks about PETG tubing, even in the name. Would I be able to use it for soft tubing or not?

So my current parts list consists of the following components, but doesn´t only use one water-cooling loop manufacturer (in this case, the primary manufacturer is thermaltake), but also EK Water Blocks (for a better Motherboard cooler) and Gigabyte´s built in water cooling block on their GTX 1080 Ti "Special" Edition). PARTS LIST: Graphics card (has a stock mounted rgb water-cooled backplate): - Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Waterforce WB Xtreme Case: - Corsair 500D RGB SE Motherboard: - Gigabyte AORUS Z370 Gaming 7 Water cooling: - Enermax NeoChanger RGB 400ml Reservoir + Pump Combo (will the 400ml version fit into my case?) - Thermaltake Pacific V-Tubler PETG 100cm 16cm/12cm (outer diameter: 5/8") - Thermaltake Pacific RGB LED Fittings 16cm/12cm (outer diameter: G 1/4") - Thermaltake TT Sync Controller (for the thermaltake components) - Thermaltake Pacific RL360 Plus RGB Radiator - EK Water Blocks EK-FB Gigabyte Z270X RGB Monoblock (which, out of some reason, should work with the Z370 board) - (Still choosing a coolant, see my other question on LiquidNitrogen) Will this work or will the pieces not fit together because of different diameters or something? Are there any components which I should replace because of known risks/problems? If something won´t fit/work, can you also provide a similar (e.g. rgb) component (which, preferrably, should have no branding). Which fittings do I need? (I'd prefer some from XSPC). I have some questions regarding the maintenance I'm going to have to do soon, since I put the loop together more than a year ago so it's long overdue: I'm doing a block teardown, including the Z170S monoblock and the 1080Strix GPU block. What do I need to do the reassembly? Do I need to get O-rings? Do I need to get thermal pads? Can I reuse the EKWB compression fittings? How do I flush the radiators and clean the blocks? Its a copper/nickel loop. I'm planning on using the EKWB Monarch RAM modules without the actual watercooling part, just as a heatsink. I heard it's enough, I just wanted to make sure. I'll be posting the process since it's going to be a pretty spicy mod so expect a post in 2 weeks or so and many thanks in advance for taking time to respond to the questions!

Hey guys, I am absolutely struggling to find some good hardline liquid cooling fittings in the Dark Nickel / Black Sparkle / Black Chrome or whatever else they want to call it color. The problem I am having is usually a combination of color, I want it dark and not closer to regular nickel (these are perfect color-wise: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0719FDQFY/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1), finding the right size (I'd like 16mm OD for aesthetics), and being able to find the supporting fittings, I know I'll want to use at least 2 "fill-port" or "pass-through" fittings in order to hide some of the runs behind the motherboard tray and I'd love for them to match. I don't anticipate needing any extenders or radial fittings but I may. I plan to build in the Corsair 1000D when it lands. As for brands I have looked at, EK's fittings seem to be way too light in color, Primochill only makes up to 1/3ID 1/2OD, bitspower seems really hard to find anywhere (and kinda expensive, but that's not really a big problem...but they're usually about twice the price? not a big fan of their logos on the top-face either), monsoon is pretty close but I looked at a build using their fittings and disliked it...I think I like knurling on the outside because it plays well with the rgb lighting (kinda petty, I know). Any recommendations or insights on where to look? Thanks, Jake

I'm looking into getting a custom watercooled PC(https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Plog/saved/ptcKZL) and I am not sure what fittings I need. Right now these are the main compression fittings I will be using https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-hdc-fitting-12mm-g1-4-red but I would like to use some 90 and 2x45 degree fittings. Do these https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-af-angled-2-45-g1-4-black and these https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-af-angled-90-g1-4-black work with my current red compression fittings and is it neccesary to have a fitting to go along with the angle adapters I would also like to hear any thought about using the thermal grizzly conductonaut on my gpu block, I have read some posts warning people of using it but I'm not sure why, can someone please explain it to me? Thank you to anyone who chooses to help me as I have only ever built one PC before and it was pretty basic.

I'm redoing my loop a little bit in the near future, adding another rad, etc. I'm currently using the singularity computers D5 pump top and pump. The pump top only has one "out" port. My current drain port is just coming off of on of the in ports, I'd like to put in a splitter so that I can run my pump to help drain my system a little quicker instead of having to manually manipulate my case to drain fluid from certain areas. My question is this: are there T or Y fittings that have a ball valve to direct the fluid? I would think flow and head pressure would be lost going into the area that doesn't have an exit, and then creating resistance and ultimately pushing back against the flow. Or does it not matter? If anyone has seen a Y splutter with a valve can you please point me in the right direction. Thanks

Understanding which fittings need to be purchased when building a loop is often the most difficult part of getting into custom-loop water-cooling, especially since companies such as Bitspower offer such a huge range. I've made a relatively simple flow chart that I believe will make understanding the purpose of fittings available on the market much easier. Feel free to ask any questions or offer any suggestions.

I have recently purchased a ekwb water loop and started to assemble it and came to a standstill with the Ek-acf fittings. They are basic compression fittings and I have a total of 8 of them, with 5 of them stuck. They came in the package already assembled and I can not take 5 of 8 of them apart. The three that did come apart I just screwed them into the blocks and unscrewed the black ring, but for the ones that are stuck they seem to not want to separate from the inside.

i am going to do costume water cooling very soon, until now i found all my parts from ekwb but i have heard that thee fittings shouldent be the best and the ones from bitspower should be better. so i just wanna know if i can buy the ones from ek or i should go with bitspower

Hello all, I did a complete tear down of my watercooling loop since it was running for a year and I noticed these tiny little bubbles on the compression fittings. The system overall had no growth or issues with different metals being mixed. 3/10 fittings did not have it but i dont remember where they where. Any idea of what these are? I tried soapy water and cotton swabs and they dont come off. I could probably use them again and have 0 issues but want to know if anyone else has seen these before? Thank you

You who are experienced in hardline tubing. What ratio between different angles of fittings is common in your build? For example, 1/3 straight fittings, 1/3 45 degrees and 1/3 90 degree. Im asking because im looking into buying for the next build. Thanks

So, I just finished my custom loop and I started putting coolant into my res. Of course the first thing that happened was the coolant exiting the res as quickly as possible. What went wrong here? Are the fittings not tight enough (tightened them by hand until my fingers slipped) or are my bends just fucked? VID-20171027-WA0003.mp4

I am considering putting a waterblock on my 1080 and putting it in a custom loop. I have been doing research on this. However, I cannot find a guide on actually putting the fittings on the waterblock... Do I just screw them in? The best I have found is attach your fittings. Could someone please help here? The block is an EVGA Hydro Copper FTW block and I will likely be using 3/8 by 5/8 fittings and tubing with compression fittings.
