Hey, I m building a new pc, if I choose 9100F I can spend 45€ more on GPU so I would get probably GTX 1660 , but if I choose to go with R5 I’d go with RX 570. I’m not much for upgrading the system ,after i finish my build.I want it to last like 3-5 yrs( if it’s possible even) I will use it mostly for FPS games, occasionally editing videos for school. Maybe I should go totally different way with CPUs. I don’t know. Thanks for every reply.

This is actually my first time posting on a Forum, so here it goes... I have been really into gaming lately and my current situation is not cutting it. Currently I am always watching out for members of my family trying to use the computer. Its not fun getting off in the middle of games due to someone needing this PC. Everyone has things to do on this family PC and everyone is more important.. soo.. i decided to upgrade to my own gaming setup. Im trying to get all of my parts as cheap as possible and to save as much money. (student+un-supportive parents). The current build situation is: Case: RaidMax-DirkTooth ~this is like an 8 year old case, that im hoping will work. (got at garage sale w/ PSU for 40 bucks) PSU: OCZ 600w ~garage sale find (unmodular) :C Proccesor: Ryzen 5 1600 ~cheapest am4 proccesor in my budget, planning to upgrade to the ryzen 3rd gen with bios update (comes with cooler) GPU: RX 580 armor ~ for an 108$ rx 580 on ebay that i am having trouble buying. MOBO: ASrock x370 killer ~ cheap am4 motherboard that allows overclocking and has wifi/bluetooth (i think) RAM: G-Skill Aegis 8GB ~cheapest 3000mhz ram that can go in my budget (can easilly buy a second w/ the money ill earn) Hard Drive: WD Blue 1T ~cheapest hard drive that i could find Can you guys help me out if i missed anything or help me with the eBay issue? I ordered once, and after a few hours it says my order was canceled due to an incorrect postal address, when i tried again, it said i couldn't use this card and that i have to use pay pal or a diff credit card. I really need some wisdom with this build. i have no idea how its going to turn out. HELP.

Hi All, I've been gaming on a 1050 2gb and I5 7400 for a couple years now and feel that its about darned time for a new build. I live in Canada, and wanted to purchase most of my hardware from either Amazon.ca, or Bestbuy, or newegg. I put together a list of what im interested in building with, but have never pieced together a full system so i'm not exactly sure what is compatible, or if there are better options out there for the same price. I'm hoping to keep the build below 1,300 CAD before shipping and tax. Would like to see at least 1080p gaming in most titles with 60+ fps. I also do a bit of 4k editing, but its not a huge concern for me, the main purpose is for gaming (ie: GRW Breakpoint, Doom, FC 5, Just Cause, Assassins Creed, etc). 1. Ryzen 5 3600 2. Radeon RX 5700 3. Asus Prime X-570 P 4. 16 GB Vengeance 3000mhz 5. EVGA 650 W 6. CoolerMaster MB520 7. HDD (from my old computer, im not really interested in upgrading to a ssd at this time) 8. Have not decided on a screen yet. At this time the build will cost 1,278.71 CAD before shipping and tax. Is this a good idea to proceed with the build? Will all of the hardware be compatible? Or are there better options to go with that may not cost as much? In the past I have only swapped some ram, and a PSU on a computer so this will be my first full build. I've watched a lot of LTT videos on building computers and feel as if I have enough information to build it properly, so all I need is some technical assistance in finding the right parts. Cheers!

Hi, Building my first PC. Here is the part list (its a budget build, not intended to run high-level games): https://pcpartpicker.com/user/BobThePCBuilder25/saved/#view=BTCZf7 The only issue is that the motherboard does not have onboard wifi. So would this work: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B006BSPTAQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_10?smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&psc=1, or does anyone have any better CHEAP ideas (I was also wondering whether I need to purchase extra fans, or can I just use the ones that come with the case??) THANKS!!!!

First post - first build in 16 years!!! My first system was built in a thermaltake Tsunami case that was second hand with 2 x 19" LCD monitors that cost the earth!. This build was part built by my 5 year old son (start them early) and currently is performing well) I decided on this as the better half started discussing a laptop. Unfortunately she went into hospital for a week so I took the step and used my Amazon prime subscription to get next day candy. Main purpose is an upgradeable machine that can see through everyday processing tasks & some gaming (mostly gaming if I can get the boss off Sims 4) Specs: Gigabyte Aorus Ultimate Gaming X470 Ryzen 2200G 16Gb Corsair 3000Mhz DDR4 MSI ARMOR RX580 8Gb OC 240Gb M.2 SSD 2Tb Barracuda & RGB vomit everywhere ? I will be looking to upgrade the CPU to Ryzen 3rd Gen asap as long as I'm not made redundant in the next 3 months!!! ?

Hello guys I am planning to kill my current PC and build a new one since I have had this one for 10 years. Because this is my first PC build I want to see if any people can find any issues with m ideas and how to address them. My budget is kind of unlimited as i have lobbed aside £200 a week for the last year so I got about £10k to mess around with (but I am not trying to spend 10k for spending sake) The build is designed to be a gaming set up mostly for 2 1440p 144 monitors and 1 4k 144 monitor. However it will also be used for 3D work. As for look I am going for a Black and White theme mostly with hints of blue. (not sure if that effects anything) ( i will put all the parts on their own line so they stand out) The case I am planning to put it in is the Antec Torque mostly just for style choices. The motherboard I am planning on is MSI MEG Z390 Godlike (unless something happens in july I am waiting for public amd results) and for the Cpu the generic Intel i9-9900k (unless the stuff with AMD makes me change my mind) for the Ram I am planning to use Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB DDR4-3200MHz (4 sticks) As for memory I am deciding between a FireCuda 510 SSD and a samsung 970 pro (I would like some help with this decision) on top of that I will have a Intel Optane 32 gb to boost a seagate barracuda pro 12tb due to the height of the ram I am planning to go with a H150i pro for the CPU cooler a question I have regarding this cooler is how many fans can I put on it without fucking up the rest of the pc? I was planning to put 6 fans on it (3 push 3 pull) and mount it on the front of the case since I think the is to much space at the front and the is not much filling it up so I might as well lower the temperatures a bit. The fans I am planning to put on the cooler are the ML120 PRO RGB LED 120MM PWM Premium Magnetic Levitation Fan (i copy and pasted that cba to type lol) and for the case the 140 version of the same fans. this would 3 case fans on top being 140 mm and 6 at the front for the radiator. Would I be able to fit all these fans in? (i know the benefit is minimal but if the is a benefit I want to do it my room gets to hot as it is because it is above a kitchen and is stupidly isolated so like no heat escapes) The power supply I am planning to use is the ROG Thor ATX12V/EPS12V mostly so i can see the power it is using by just glancing at the side of the case. Lastly the GPU I plan to use are 2 ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080 Ti which is another reason I want the 6 fans at the front and 3 at the top. The cost so far is looking about £5450 with GPUS and £3050 without GPUS. So those are my plans if you have any advice and if the are any other things I should wait for apart from AMD let me know. .

So I am new to building.... very new... and I made one that I thought would be just good enough! Specs: mobo: Gigabyte Z170x Gaming 7 cpu: i5 7600k gpu: Vega 64 8gb ram: 16gb vengeance (2x8gb) psu: rosewill 750w 80+ gold (if anything else might be relevant let me know) but my my computer will not start! I have thermotake RGB fans that come on, but my gpu isn’t putting out an output and although the lights turn on and fans spin for a good 4-6 seconds, it turns off and reboots soon after. I’ve watched a ton of videos and am trying my best to troubleshoot, but need some tips. Would appreciate any insight-

Hey guy's i am new to building and have done tons of research over the last few weeks while saving money, for my budget i put this builds together. wanted to share them with more experienced builders before ordering this weekend as i don't wanna have any returns, mess ups, or regrets lol. i'm going for a 1080p 144hz gaming pc, i play competitive so usually optimal graphics for the game like apex or pubg right now, i also want to get into streaming but the stream it doesnt have to be great quality from the start as i'll probably have to use NVENC coding untill i can get another pc or way better processor cuz i want 144fps for my monitor's refresh rate, but i'll slowly get there but this is just a starting point and i will build off this part by part as needed. also i would really like to go intel and nvidia as they are my personal favorite no offense to anyone tho i like all just want intel/nvidia in mine even if its more expensive lol. so heres the list, i just want to know if anyone see's any problems or has better options around the same price range,i'm buying all new off amazon and also btw idc about rgb or looks to much just performance baby lol. heres the list, thanks in advanced guys.. ordering this weekend so i will check this very often to reply and answer questions. *********I AM ORDERING THIS WEEKEND SO I CAN ONLY CHANGE THESE PARTS OUT UNTILL THEN SO PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN THANK YOU VERY MUCH, I WAITED&SAVED ALOT AND DON'T WANNA WASTE MONEY, TIME OR HAVE REGRETS********* Update #1;Thursday25th1pm: after reading the comments so fari have updated a few things that were mentioned and please understand i'm not the typical pc user. i ONLY game, watch youtube, or stream but in nvenc coding which uses gpu and will have second streaming pc to switch to the better quality encoding with no loss of performance to gaming rig +++i play competitive FirstPersonShooter games on 1080p optimal settings which is usually LOW quality for less clutter and better vision/performance with 144hz monitor i just need lowlow frame time and consistent 144+ fps to keep my monitor at max refreshrate for best performance when in big hectic fights were it matters the most, example my current game of choice, Apex Legends. i would never play most the games ppl benchmark, hardest game for me would probably be apex or pubg as i only play multiplayer competitive shooters... Hope that helps some of you understand my needs. Will be checking often and updating when anything new changes. THANKS GUYS!!!!!!! Bold Underlined = Decision at the moment based off feedback from you guys. but can and probably will change till i order on monday! crossed out/line through = An option i was thinking but decided not to as i was told not to by you guy's suggestions but can and probably will change till i order on monday! Note: First gaming pc. Doesn't mind a PC without RGB. On a budget. So, I'm gonna get the ff. pc on around april and I'm wondering if what I can do to fully utilize this machine to it's full potential: Processor: Ryzen 3 2200G Motherboard: Gigabyte A320M-S2H RAM: DDR4 Team Elite Plus 1x8gb 2400MHz with Heat-Spreader PSU: Generic ATX PSU 700watts Things I want to do: 1. Overclock the RAM - So first of all I won't overclock the cpu YET because of the board, as I am not sure if it's at least 90% safe (me and the machine) because I just recently heard of overclocking with am3 boards. Anyways what I want to ask about the RAM is that what the maximum frequency I could overclock it to is, it has a heat spreader so can I overclock it to 2933MHz like other builds? Or should I just stick with 2600MHz, or like just a little more? 2. Add a GTX (either 1050, 1050TI, 1060, or 1060TI, not sure which to buy yet, depends on what I'll find) in a few months, and a True Rated PSU. - I'm pretty sure the Generic PSU won't cut it and I need to get a true rated one, so can I go away with a Seasonic PSU (Silver or Gold) with 500watts? Or which should I get? I found a lot of Seasonic Gold/Silver PSUs in the Facebook Marketplace reaching from 500w to 700w. 3. Get a better motherboard (am4) and overclock the Ryzen 3 2200G's APU and CPU- Like earlier I said that I won't overclock the cpu YET because of the board, so what BUDGET boards have the features of the Gigabyte A320M-S2H but are am4 so that I can overclock both the CPU and APU of the Ryzen 3 2200G? 4. If there are any other things I could do to get better performance with the current specs, please say them. Thanks!

This is my very first post in this forum, after all the WAN Show marketing comming from Linus, he finally convinced me, from what I've read so far I can tell this is indeed a fantastic community. Now, onto what we came for. This is the list of proposed parts I've been considering for my first PC build, prices are in MXN since I'm mexican, as you can possibly tell from the GPU this is not aiming to be a gaming PC rather than a entry-level workstation, I'm an Engineering student so most of the time I'm on Solidworks, Catia V5, FeatureCAM, sometimes for my other subjects I need to use things such as Premiere Pro and the rest of the CC Adobe Suite. The left side of the table I like to portray it as the "Basic" section and next to it I listed some upgrades I think could help in the performance of the machine without truly increasing the base cost of the system itself. Mostly I'm looking for recommendations you might have in part selection as well as some "Pro-tips" for when I actually start building and the process after that. A couple of things I have already considered are: The system is nowhere near demanding 750W of power, however I really want some breathing room for future upgrades and as a consecuence of being a mexican (?) lower wattage PSU's are actually more expensive and harder to get I'm trying to get in touch with my ISP so that my router is moved closer to where the machine will be so that a wi-fi card won't be required, but I'm certain that ISP's are as tedious to handle in Mexico as well as any other country I know I'll definitely need more storage, specially if I go with the 250GB SSD rather than the double capacity one, for that I'm considering a Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD since I truly don't need anymore storage after that. I'm 99% certain that the RAM upgrade is mandatory since Solidworks (and Chrome lol) eat lots of RAM I'm mostly concerned in the DIMM's compatibility with Ryzen I think that is it, thank you all in advance for your time and future advice. Cheers from TacoLand!

Well lads, I am planning to build my first even PC soon. I have a shopping list done up, and ready to buy as soon as Cyber Monday rolls around. I just wanted to double check with some more experienced builders whether my build is well-balanced and priced or not. Here it is: CPU - Ryzen 5 2600 - €159.90 Cooler - Cryorig H7 (gonna have to send a request for an adaptive am4 socket) - €40.96 GPU - EVGA GTX 1070 SC GAMING ACX 3.0 - €438.53 RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB 3000MHZ - €129.90 SSD - Crucial MX500 500GB SATA - €68.44 HDD - Seagate Barracuda 1TB - €39.90 MOBO - MSI B450M Mortar - €98.94 PSU - EVGA 550 B3 80+ Bronze (I don't know much about PSUs, might not be the right choice) - €69.99 Case - Phanteks EC 300 - €64.26 WiFi Module (yes, I am a pleb) - ASUS PCE AC55BT B1 - €38.90 Monitor - Acer Nitro VG270U (plus Allcam MMS10s VESA mount, it doesn't get height adjust) - 290.98 + €33.71 (monitor seems cheap for the spec, but i checked forums, and cclonline.com is said to be reputable) Headset - Corsair HS50 - €64.99 Speakers - Trust GXT 38 - €64.08 Keyboard - REDRAGON K551-RGB-UK Vara - €56.99 Mouse - Cooler Master cm310 - €27.76 This is my current setup. Everything apart from the monitor is going to get bought from amazon.co.uk and amazon.de, since I live in Ireland, and importing from the US is overpriced, so Newegg is out of the question. I am not sure on the power supply, as although I have been following the tech sphere ever since the first ryzen launch, it is the one part of the PC I haven't really paid attention to in my research. That and the speakers and headset. I'm hoping for a good Monday discount as well. Any advice regarding those three (speaker, headset, PSU), or any other component really, would be really appreciated.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I'm new here so here we go. I'm new to PC building and would like to get by build checked out by someone who knows what they're doing. How can I improve it without spending much more? (I'm already at the top end of my budget) Thanks for reading and helping a noob out!

So this is going to be my first computer build. I currently game on a ROG laptop and am wanting some more power and display quality. My current set up lacks sufficient number of usb ports for my peripherals and has a pretty poor start up time. Graphics quality isnt too bad but Iwant to be able to max out the quality. I play league of legends and starcraft 2 but when I play other games I enjoy games that are visualy enjoyable to play like subnautica or crysis. My goal of this build was to be able to play on the highest graphics settings on the games I enjoy playing as well as some of the new games coming out. Heres the build ive put together so far. Razer - BlackWidow Chroma V2 Wired Gaming Keyboard MSI - Optix G27C2 27.0" 1920x1080 144Hz Monitor Microsoft - Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit EVGA - SuperNOVA G3 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply Cooler Master - MasterBox Lite 5 ATX Mid Tower Case Asus - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB ROG STRIX Video Card Samsung - 860 Evo 1TB 2.5" Solid State Drive Seagate - Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive G.Skill - Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory Asus - ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard Cooler Master - MasterLiquid ML240L RGB 66.7 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler AMD - Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7GHz 8-Core Processor

Hi, im hoping to build my first PC around Christmas time. I need an replacement to my current PC (AMD Athlon b22, Radeon HD 5450 1gb). Upgrade is not possible due to the PSU. I have a budget of around £370 (i know its small). I've made a bit of a part list but the CPU has recently gone up in price drastically. I want to use it for games like Fortnite (and other light games) but want to play on high settings at a good framerate. Pentium G5400 3.7Ghz (Used to be only £58) Gigabyte - H310 D3 (Just a supported motherboard that looks good) Kingston - FURY (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 (A cheap Ram kit) Focus G Petrol Blue Mid Tower Case (I like the look of this case) Corsair 550 Watt VS550 Refurbished (The cheapest 550w power supply from a brand i've heard of) GTX 680 (CeX do a good price. it gives the same performance but is cheaper than the 1050) Im using storage and peripherals from my old pc. I don't really want to go higher than the budget but right now its above. I've also made a list using Ryzen and at the moment its a bit cheaper than the Pentium build. The problem is that they both now cost more than the budget. Does anyone have any advice on what to do about this / alternatives to think about Thanks

Question 1.I’m looking to build a new PC in instead of buying a new copy of windows any hard drive or SSD could I use the hard drive from my sisters laptop that already has windows on it? If I wipe the drive of all her stuff ( it’s her old laptop that she used for photo editing and now she’s at college and she has a Mac ) wouldn’t it in theory just still have windows and work with mine ? And now for question 2 . I’m using pc part picker https://pcpartpicker.com/list/Q7x9RJ and it says that my motherboard might need a bios update and more jazz that sort of understand. It also talks about the cool I’m going to use that the mounting bracket for an am4 motherboard might not come with the kit but I checked the reviews on Amazon and it doses so don’t worry about that.( I also have the graphics card on the list it was given to me by my cousin, it was free so can complain! I will upgrade it later but for now I just want to have the pc to build.) AAAAnd question 3 if there’s anyway I could get a stronger pc for under 800 pls say so. I would like it to be ryzen and have a minimum of 8gb of RAM and preferably a white theme and must be atx form factor. Thanks and sorry for the misspellings and bad grammar.

This is my first ever build and while I have these following parts: Ballistic sport 4 GB DDR 3 form factor at UDIMM Radeon XFX graphics card R7-260X-CNF4 AMD FD8320FRHKBOX FX-8320 FX-Series 8-Core Black Edition Processor I still need the follow: a case, one more stick of ram, a motherboard, some form of cooling, and a power supply. While I have the case, ram, and motherboard on amazonI would still like help making sure they fit the parts I already have. And I have no idea where to start for the power supply. Thanks for the help and sorry for the bad grammar and spelling.

Hello everyone, I wanted to set up my own PC since about 4 years ago and now I have the possibility to do it, but I want to do it correctly (it will be for gaming, with possibility to build an SLI in the future). For now I'm using an laptop that is like 5 or 6 years old and can't play any of the new games. So this is the configuration for my project, and I would like to hear your opinion about it, or/and any suggestions: PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant Motherboard: ASUS ROG MAXIMUS X HERO CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7Ghz Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro DDR4 2666 16GB 2x8GB GPU: Asus ROG Strix Geforce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB (not sure if it's worth pick an TI version) Storage: Samsung 860 EVO Basic SSD 500GB + 1TB hardrive that I already own.
