CPU: R5 3600 RAM: G.Skill 16GB DDR4 3600 mhz Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wifi SSDs: 1) Sabrent Rocket 512 GB NVme (boot drive and game storage) 2) Silicon Power A55 1TB SATA SSD (game storage) HDD: Seagate Barracuda 2 TB (overflow storage) GPU: RTX 2060 Super Case: Fractal Design Focus G Power Supply: Corsair CX 2017 650 Watt Non-Modular Bronze Optical Drive: LG WH14NS40 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer The optical drive is mainly a result of me having DVDs and having had a bad experience with the external optical drive I bought for my laptop. I also don't like having only 512 GB to start with so that's why I went with all the extra storage. If I could redo this, I probably would have made sure to spend the extra on a modular power supply for easier cable management. I know my cable management isn't the best but it's not Verge level so I've got that going for me at least.

help Help me pick parts for my first pc please!
Cedri posted a topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
Hi guys, I have been thinking about building my first pc but I don't know the exact parts I want yet. I thought maybe you guys could help me out? Thanks in advance!! PS: I live in the Netherlands and am going for a black and white themed build and my budget is around 1000 euro's. -
Budget (including currency): $1800 Country: USA (California) Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: : Various games from new games coming out to old ones already out. (I know battlefield will be a potential game he gets as well as maybe like the Forza horizon, Dirt 5 etc) Other details: So I made a thread and got good feedback when my buddy was willing to spend $1350 on a new rig. His price has since changed to $1800 and id like to know some ideas maybe even just some upgrades of the original ideas I got from the previous thread listed HERE. He's starting from scratch into the PC world so I'm trying to get him setup. He needs everything including mouse and keyboard (Preferably mechanical leave out of build if no suggestion) He would like to have 2 monitors now. I'm looking to get him setup to go decently into the future with this build. As I know AMD has stepped up their game and the Intel fanboy in me wants to build Intel, I know that's not cost effective or even better at this point. Lastly, We live nearby a Fry's electronics. Whatever list may be shared would it potentially be cheaper to walk in there and grab everything or what's the experience on that? Thank you for the help in advance.

Budget (including currency): >=$1000 U.S. Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Light to medium gaming and media. Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): So I'm sixteen and want to build my first PC. I'm tired of my 2014 laptop and am seeking to upgrade. I want any advice regarding possible incompatibility, size issues, areas where I can save a little, etc. Mind you I don't have the largest of budgets so keep that in mind if you're making any suggestions (I'm going to have to find a job to afford these prices). Any and all help is welcome as this is all new to me and I'm not the most knowledgeable yet. Thank you! List: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/XR9hrV

I checked all the cables, removed the gpu and try to start, removed one RAM stick, and still no hope. What do you guys think is the problem here? unfortunately i dont have a friend that has a desktop that could help me. It’s also lockdown in my area so I can’t get a shop to help. WHAT SHOULD I DO :((

Hi there I was wondering if you could help! Attempting to to put together by first pc and I have ran into an issue (seemingly with the GPU). My build is: Ryzen 5 3600 with stock cooler ASUS TUF gaming x570 plus 16gb ddr4 3600 ram Asus GeForce RTX 2070 super 8gb dual evo WD Black SN750 512gb corsair TX850M 80 plus gold PSU i put together my test bench to see if it would post and my motherboard gets stuck at the white led (signalling GPU issue), then the green light also comes on. Ive checked all cabling, reset CMOS, taken out everything and tried each component one by one to check if it would work. This is my only PC so I don’t have a GPU I could use to make sure that is definitely the issue. please let me know if there is anything else I should try. Going to try return the GPU and get another to check if that’s the issue. Any help/suggestions appreciated.

I need some help, I need to make a good budget gaming pc but I only have $400 to $500 Canadian dollars to spend or around $280 to $350 american. What is the best bang for my buck pc I can build within my budget. P.s. I would prefer new because the used market where I live is actual garbage like $950 gaming rigs with 1050s in it type garbage.

Hey guys I'm pretty new to PC-building and I want to upgrade from my "gaming" laptop to a desktop. I was planning on using these parts, but I have no idea if they go together or not. Can you give me some advice if this system will even work? AMD Ryzen 5 3600 ASUS TUF gaming X570-plus ASUS ROG-STRIX-RTX2060-6G-GAMING CORSAIR VENGEANCE RGB PRO 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 Samsung 970 EVO 1TB Corsair RM650X Corsair 110R My budget is about €1300+-50 and I live in Belgium. The pc's main purpose will be for gaming, I also might be doing some photoshop or programming (but this as a hobby). I only need 1 monitor but with the possibility of adding max 2 more. I don't need any peripherals as I already have them. Thanks

Would these parts work together? I know it is cheap and bad from ebay but I am buying in 10 months from saved up pocket money ok... I just need 8GB of ram for most games and decent storage space.

Hello PC world, I'm looking around sites and building a pc that I hopefully will buy in a year or two (I need to save a bit more). I've finally built a rough idea of what parts i'm using and I wanted to see if any experts had any adjustments. It must not get too much higher in budget. Just reply with any good performance upgrades you think may help. My parts are: Asus ROG STRIX Z390-H GAMING- Motherboard Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO CPU Cooling System- CPU fan RTX 2060- Not sure which variant? Intel I5-9400F- CPU HyperX Fury Black 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM Memory X2 for 16gb- Ram Samsung 860 Evo 1TB SSD- Internal SSD Corsair VS650 650 W Active PFC 80 PLUS Certified Power Supply Unit - Black- Power supply Cooler Master MasterBox MB520 RGB Black Mid Tower Case (M-ITX/M-ATX/ATX)- Case It's probably also worth mentioning i'm buying an MSI Optix MAG241C Full HD 23.6" Curved LED Gaming Monitor Black to go with my other one. I also already have a 2TB external hard drive so storage upgrades aren't a massive deal. Thanks

1. Budget & Location I'm Planning a US $1200 build, but I'm fine going a little over 2. Aim I want the best gaming experience I can get for $1200, also I'm highly interested in RTX 3. Monitors I currently have three 1680x1050 60Hz monitors. I would like to upgrade them in the future to an unspecified higher resolution(probably not 4k because it's too expensive) and 144Hz (I'm not including this cost in the $1200) 4. Peripherals I plan on getting VR in the future (not included in the $1200) 5. Why are you upgrading? My current rig runs on a GTX 750 TI and isn't bad, but doesn't have the power I'm looking for I ended up changing a lot of my parts to be based off the Game Now build in The Perfect DIY Gaming PC - Early 2020 Buyer's Guide. Is it worth it to get a after market card, or should I stick with NVIDIA one? According to this video, I'd only get a few more fps on average while gaming. (The video didn't include thermals or anything) How do I decide which one to get as I couldn't find benchmarks for all of them? Are their any problems that more experienced eyes can see? Do you have any suggestions on cases? A black and red theme would be preferable, but not necessary Unless there is a reason to get a more expensive one I would prefer a cheaper one I'm neutral to RGB Are there better / equivalent parts that are cheaper? Are there significantly better parts for a little extra? Is there anything I need to add to this post? Did I post this in the correct place?

Okay, so I haven't ever truly gamed on PC, I know I know I'm a noobie, I've been console gaming for so long, and I'm not very handy, I finally have a job I can spend money to do stuff like build a computer that's great (willing to spend up to a maximum of $800, possibly $1000), and linus/LTT really helps me find parts to do so via videos and posts, BUT like I said I'm not a handyman, I know NOTHING about building computers or any of the special terms and whatnot, I've read and watched stuff about it over and over and never understand, I want to PC game but I dont have what it takes to build one. With that, I always consider just going to bestbuy and tossing my money at something and hope, but I dont want to waste money and get ripped off. So I'm at a crossroads, I want to PC game, but I cant build a PC and I dont understand all the fancy stuff involved, but I don't exactly trust buying prebuilt PCs. Help....?

Planning on doing my first build with help from family for my birthday in March. My dad was an avid pc fan but unfortunately took his own life last year so I can’t go to him for help. I’ve put together this list so far, based off the $900 Ryzen video from the beginning of December. Ideally under £1000 would be perfect, and I’d like to have the option for RTX too. Hence the GPU. I already have the monitor, and have a Corsair mouse of my dads but no keyboard. I’ll mostly be gaming, what games I don’t know yet, I have an Xbox one X, but would like to venture into pc gaming in memory of my dad mainly! I’m based in the UK. Any tips or help much appreciated! Hi-ya, so, just finished my first ever pc build which i had to save money for quite a long time for and wanted to share it with you guys, i wanted a totally different case for this one but ended up falling in love with the Corsair 280x non RGB since i saw it in this LTT vid: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WoKPCCYvByo&t=2s I found it very appealing to have a separate space for my cable mess as well as very original aesthetics; i've been a huge fan of Corsair for a long time despite never actually having used any of their products until now, specwise it's not an impressive build and even a little underwhelming from the RAM and GPU standpoint but in fact, i knowingly sacrificed some performance in exchange for looks (which i may fix later on) in order to have some sort of base build for later upgrading. I might as well have gone for a much better gaming performance by getting an RTX 2060 Super or RX 5700 XT but ultimately went for RGB fans, white memory sticks, 1tb NVME and a pretty case, but for that money (1,100~ish USD) a better GPU would have been pretty much a no brainer for most people. I'll leave you with specs and a little comment on why i picked it and some pics, i apologize for the shit camera but that's all i have thnx for reading, any suggestions are welcome. (also keep in mind i'm from Mexico so the prices are all over the place, usually 30-40% more expensive) CPU: Ryzen 7 2700 - Basically $25 more expensive than 2600 but about $25-$50 less than 2700x i got it just because i may have to edit videos in the future. MoBo: AsRock B450 Steel Legend matx - prettier than others, also cheaper RAM: 16 Gb 2666 Corsair vengeance RGB pro - the only thing i might swap out in the near future, there were no 3000 or 3200 kits in white color available and buying from newegg was like 100 USD more :c SSD: 1 Tb NVME Adata XPG gammix s5 - kinda overkill but was just 20 usd more than a SATA or SATA m.2 drive and 500Gb didn't make it for me HDD: Good ol' 2Tb video vigilance intended Seagate hdd which contains all of my filthy memes and stuff GPU: Gigabyte RX590 - unimpressive but still capable GPU, it's been crashing a bit but only when pushed to the limit, maybe the factory OC was too much for this RX580 rebrand idk, usually under 70°C despite it's reputation PSU: Cooler Master 600w 80 white cert. Corsair goodies: Basic gaming peripherals kit from which the headset is the crown jewel, 280x case in white, 2x 140mm LL rgb fans on top, 2x 120 LL rgb white fans on the front 'cause i thought they would "reflect" more light and look slightly better all managed by the included Lighting node pro and fan hub that came with the 140mm fans. And a nice Xbox one controller PUBG themed which was actually cheaper than the basic Xbox controllers for some reason. EDIT: As i bought my CPU and GPU from different stores and both are AMD i was able to claim double rewards so i got Borderlands 3 with the in-game AMD themed thingy and Outer worlds along with 2 Xbox 3-month codes for free.

So, I recently inherited a lil bit of money and decided to invest in a proper PC since I'm currently using an ASUS K53E Laptop from like 8 years ago with an ancient Celeron processor and the good old HD4000 graphics. (Yes I've been gaming on it, not fun). I've gone real cheap on this becuase I still want to have some money left over, in total it cost under €400. (I already have a monitor, mouse and Keyboard) Heres the specs. Intel Core i5 4690 CPU (LGA 1150) AIGO Darkflash Shadow CPU Cooler. Gigabyte GA B85M D3V M-ATX MOBO XFX RX 470 4GB Black Edition GPU 16GB Killisre DDR3 1600Mhz RAM (2x8) GameMax Kage Case Corsair VS450 PSU 1TB 3.5" HDD 256GB Kingston SSD 6x120mm RGB fans (3 front, 2 top, 1 rear) Please let me know if I've made any compatibility errors or just stupid decisions that will lead to badness. (That crappy CPU Cooler is temporary btw). If they sound like Cheap AliExpress components it's because they are. I'm building this expecting to run into a few problems, just hopefully no problems that are too expensive to fix. I also haven't looked to see if the motherboard has an RGB header for the fans but I assume it doesnt. I'll look for a way around that maybe, maybe not. Just got RGB because it looks cool, wouldnt be too bummed if it didnt work. What do ye think? Keep in mind it's my first build so I'd appreciate anything in regard to tips or stuff that ye can give me. Thanks!

I want to upgrade from my old PC and i'm considering building one myself for the first time. I was wondering if the parts I selected would work together and if I could save a few bucks on some stuff that may be over the top. Here's the list on pcpartpicker: https://de.pcpartpicker.com/user/riplum/saved/zynx6h I've been thinking about getting a Ryzen 7 2700X, a be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4, a MSI B450 Gaming Pro Motherboard, Corsair Vengeance Pro 16gb DDR4 3200, a Samsung 970 Evo 500gb SSD, a MSI GeForce RTX 2080 Super and a Corsair 650W power supply. And I'd like to fit that in a NZXT H500i case. Help or advice would be very much appreciated!

Hey, I'm planning on build my first tower. 1. Budget & Location 1500€ = ~1 650$ in France but I can go up to 1750€ = ~2000$ if it is to have much better parts. . The budget is for the tower and a monitor. I already have an os. 2. Aim Mainly gaming and watching movies, maybe a bit of programming. 3. Monitors One for now, maybe two in the future. 4. Peripherals None needed besides monitor. 5. Why are you upgrading? I currently play on a gl552vw ASUS laptop but but it's a little outdated with more recent games and I want to keep it clean for work now. This is what I think I will be building: PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7 GHz 8-Core Processor (€197.28 @ Amazon France) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-U12S 55 CFM CPU Cooler (€59.90 @ Amazon France) Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5 g Thermal Paste (€6.90 @ Amazon France) Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard (€129.99 @ Amazon France) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3000 Memory (€95.98 @ Cdiscount) Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 500 GB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (€114.00 @ Amazon France) Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (€71.34 @ Amazon France) Video Card: Sapphire Radeon RX 5700 XT 8 GB Video Card (€409.40 @ TopAchat) Case: Fractal Design Focus G ATX Mid Tower Case (€53.98 @ Cdiscount) Power Supply: Corsair 850 W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (€179.99 @ Amazon France) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 Home OEM 64-bit (€0.00) Case Fan: Noctua NF-F12 PWM 54.97 CFM 120 mm Fan (€19.89 @ Amazon France) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A12x15 PWM 55.44 CFM 120 mm Fan (€22.95) Monitor: Iiyama G-MASTER BLACK HAWK 24.5" 1920x1080 75 Hz Monitor (€139.89 @ TopAchat) Total: €1501.49 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2019-11-20 21:53 CET+0100 What do you think about it ? So I am currently in the process of creating a list for a semi budget (slightly leaning to higher end) computer and I have the parts listed on an amazon list. I want to make sure I didnt miss anything and I want to get opinions on where I can improve my build / save money. I have an A+ cert and working on sec + so i have some idea of trouble shooting but not much.... I think I got everything though and it looks okay? https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/3SWFPF1AM60PR?ref_=wl_share

Hello everybody, The story is quite simple, I want to build my own PC because I always utilised only a laptop. This project will serve to occasional gaming, mechanical design (Catia, Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc.) and other engineering programs (in resume, I think that I need cores). I will be grateful if you can look at my first proposal and give me some advice. (Out of the monitor, the peripherals are not so important for me) And a little final question, I plan to use the ssd only to install all my stuff and use the hdd for automatic backups every 15 days, this will be a problem for one or other disks? https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Lenov/saved/#view=WNgjpg

Hello forum! so I've just reached a point in my life where I can finally afford that gaming PC that I've always wanted. (Yay!) I've build a mediocre PC years ago but I haven't been much involved in the PC gaming industry lately. However I've spent a lot of my free time in the last couple of days doing some research and here's is what I've come up with. I would much appreciate if you more experienced guys could tell me what you think. This should be mainly a gaming PC to run modern games at 1440p above 100 FPS on high detail settings (not highest). It should also be future proof, that's why I picked the X570 motherboard which probably is an overkill atm. In the future I plan to first buy a better CPU cooler and try some gentle overclocking (because I read that the ryzen 3600 can bottleneck the 5700XT...?), then when games start requiring it I'll upgrade to 32gb RAM and some time in the further future I'll buy a better graphics card (that will take advantage of the PCIE 4.0...?). Here's the setup: CPU - Ryzen 5 3600 - https://www.alza.cz/EN/amd-ryzen-5-3600-d5634213.htm?kampan=adw1_komponenty_pla_all_komponenty_procesory_EXP_tROAS_c_9062894__1o1_345331136767_~70718535079~&gclid=CjwKCAjw1rnqBRAAEiwAr29IIyVGo6t7MeHhvXQJz05bYoMeA_ZWTP1oiVugNNESKPsBCjJP_mdDUhoC_hgQAvD_BwE GPU - Radeon 5700 XT - https://www.alza.cz/gaming/asus-radeon-rx5700xt-8g-d5636761.htm - (I will wait for a non reference of course, probably the Sapphire Pulse?)
