  1. Hello people nice to be here Can you please give some feedback on this build? Any suggestions/replacements? 2. Greetings.I would like to ask for feedback for this new hero concept that i made: https://www.wattpad.com/myworks/77293175-the-butterfly
  3. I am going to build my first pc and I wonder if anyone could give some feedback on whether or not this pc would be any good for medium gaming and some light video editing. Here is the build: CPU - AMD Athlon X4 880K Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-HD3 GPU - ASUS GeForce GTX 750Ti 2gb RAM - Crucial balistix sport 8gb single stick HDD - Seagate 1Tb PSU - EVGA 430 80+ Case - Corsair Carbide Series 100R It would be great if somebody with experience could give some feedback. Thank you
  4. Hey guys need your help over here, This will be the second pc I will build. It will be for my little brother and he has a budget of +-600 euro. It will be mostly used for gaming and some basic programs. I searched through the components and this is what I came up with: GPU: - gtx 960 CPU: - intel core i3-6100 boxed Motherboard: - Gigabyte GA-B150-HD3P Ram: - Kingston HyperX Fury black (2x4) HX318C10FBK2/8 (LP) Cooler: -be quiet! Pure Rock Storage: - WD Blue WD10EZEX, 1TB Case: - Sharkoon VG4-W Green Power: - Corsair VS450 this together is 630,- euros I dont really want to go further then 630 euros. but maybe there are items that can be replaced by better once and staying around the same price. Could you guys give me feedback on this component list? thanks in advance
  5. Hi, everyone! I am planning to build a gaming pc for myself with the following parts: CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor CPU Cooler: CRYORIG H7 49.0 CFM CPU Cooler Motherboard: Asus Z170-K ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: 2 x Corsair Vengeance LPX 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1070 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card Case: Undecided (Tentatively Corsair 330R Titanium Edition or Corsair Carbide Spec Alpha) Power Supply: SeaSonic G 550W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply I currently have a 1080p 60Hz monitor and I do not plan to move to 1440p or 144Hz yet. The games I'd like to play are like GTA V, Just Cause 3, Fallout 4, Civ 5, Witcher 3, etc Here are some questions I would like to ask: Would having i5-6600K and GTX 1070 be an overkill for 1080p? Would RX-480 be a better choice? (I want some degree of "future-proofing", meaning being able to run new games at ultra or high in the next few years) Are there any components that could be replaced to make the components more balanced? Is there any case that is quiet but has great cooling at around or less than $100? Thanks all for your comments in advance.
  6. Hi All, Most of you are probably already aware of a YT show called Pimp My Setup. If you haven't then basically users submit their setups and then the host along with a special guest each episode (yes, Linus has been a special guest) review said setups and grade them. They also offer a bunch of feedback so that the user can go away and improve their setup further. The only problem with it is that the waiting list to get on to the show is months long. So I have decided to create a subreddit called UpMySetup. The idea is that you post your setup and then users can offer feedback (good and bad) and also recommend you gear that will improve your gaming/work/general computing experience. Link to subreddit. Every month we also have a Setup of the Month contest. The top 5 setups for that month (based on upvote count) are featured on a stickied post for everyone to see. Come January, the winners from the previous twelve months are put onto a poll and the overall winner is given the Setup of the Year title, and they get a bunch of different prizes (giftcards, game keys, etc.). We also give out other prizes at the Setup of the Year 'ceremony' which have less monetary value such as the 'CABLES. CABLES EVERYWHERE.' award for the user with the worst cable management. At the current time, we are a fairly small subreddit so we are not giving big prizes to Setup of the Month winners but we do plan to if we start to gain popularity. Thanks for reading this far, and I hope to see your setups on the subreddit soon!
  7. I currently use realtek HD Audio manager (my audio driver) with 'playback volume' all the way up, decibel boost at the max and my headphone sound all the way up. Although this is instant feedback it is too quiet (hence the maxed volumes) and also creates a large amount of static. I also can't use this method if I use USB or soundcard methods of mic input. Any suggestions? (audacity had a huge delay) Thanks
  8. Who and why: I'm a new PC builder who's been following LTT for a couple years now and is in need of a new computer. I've had a couple laptops and a desktop back in 2002 but need a thing to really call my own that can handle college work (going on an engineering path), regular web browsing and the like plus some gaming sessions mixed in between. Limitations: I'd like to build a low profile computer to stand in a shelf about 1 meter (roughly 3 feet) from my desk with a power outlet really close by. Have my eye set on an mATX form factor and would like to work/game in 1080p. Budget should, ideally, be no higher than 800€ (or about 900 US $). Overclocking isn't sth i'm really planning on but if you see a small increase could be done, please point it out. Parts: Case: Silverstone GD04 or GD09 (was also looking at the Fractal Design Node 605 / Node 202 but, even though they're better looking than the Silverstone ones, availability is a bitch where I live); Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M S2H; CPU: Intel i5 6500 3.2 GHz; CPU Cooler: Noctua NH L9i; RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 2133MHz DDR4 2x8GB; GPU: ASUS GTX 960 STRIX 4GB / RX 470 (waiting for availabily and release dates for the Polaris architecture later this month so i'm not set on GPU yet); Storage: WD Caviar Blue 1TB + maybe an Adata 120 GB SSD, not sure here; Power Supply: EVGA 500B (500W and 80+ Bronze); OS: Windows 10 (Paul's Hardware posted a video a while back on how Kinguin has legit copies for about 25€); Peripherals: sth cheap at first, giving me time to upgrade in the future. Would love some feedback from you guys since where i live (Portugal), this amounts to roughly 780€ and i'l love to cut back somewhere. If you guys see that it can be done, please say so. Also, any ideas on a 1080p monitor that's worth it and, preferably, costs less than 100€ (roughly 110 US $)? Something that's worth mentioning is that I'm not on a tight schedule and will probably start gathering parts late August / early September. Thanks in advance for your help.
  9. Yello, So I'm finally getting around to building myself a new rig. Well, some of it's new, some of it repurposed. But, the majority will be new, so I'm looking for input. I've been building for about a decade now, but not so much recently. I've done as much research as I can stand, now it's time to put it out there and see what everyone thinks. I have SSDs already, a 1440p 144hz monitor and an 850 Gold PSU (edit: and the case listed below). My biggest question is, do I get the 6700K or the 6600K? I know that typically, an i5 would be more than enough in a rig primarily used for just gaming. But from what I've been reading, DX12 and emerging titles using it, will be able to take better advantage of the i7s extra cores etc. So, given I don't want to have to upgrade this for a few years, do I go the i7? 10. Hey guys, I'm new here, i just wanted to post my build that i am looking at buying and putting together, just want to make sure everything will be compatible. The Specs are: MotherBoard: MSI X99A SLI Plus Motherboard PSU: Cooler Master 650W V Series Semi-Modular 80+ Gold Power Supply SSD: Samsung 850 EVO 120GB Solid state Drive - MZ-75E120BW HDD: Seagate 4TB Internal 3.5" Surveillance Hard Drive CPU: Intel Core i7 5820K RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 2666MHz RAM, Black - CMK16GX4M2A2666C16 The graphics card i will not be updating yet, as i am waiting for Polaris and Pascal to be released/officially announced to see the impact they have on prices and stuff. i will be using my AMD R9 270 but i am most likely switching back to Nvidia (that is if Pascal isn't a failure or if polaris is just clearly better) and will most likely upgrade to a GTX 980 (about $700) or if you guys think its really worth it GTX 980 Ti. I will also be switching to a large 34inch widescreen curved monitor, which one, still not sure, am a bit off from actually getting a new monitor but i will be upgrading to a large curved monitor. Btw i am Australian so things are a bit more expensive, the websites i'm using for these parts are: http://www.centrecom.com.au/ https://www.pccasegear.com/ please give me your feed back and tell me if things are or are not compatible, thank you! Budget: $3000 Edit 1: i will be using the setup for content creation, programming, game development and gaming, it will became my main work station.

  13. Hello everyone! So 2AM GMT+2 time we released a new color configurator for our website! We have been working for a couple weeks now and we like the outcome.. And we want to hear your feedback on this! Introducing a new revolutionary way of customizing your colors! We have developed a custom color configurator so not only can you choose your colors but you can visualise and see your custom extensions come to life . This will make it so much easier to order your custom extensions and to match them to your build. But that's not all! We are also in the process of choosing connector colors and comb color in the same configurator !! You can test it out here: https://modguru.net What do you guys think about it? Thank you for everything!! Introducing a new revolutionary way of customizing your colors! We have developed a custom color configurator so not only can you choose your colors but you can visualise and see your custom extensions come to life. This will make it so much easier to order your custom extensions and to match them to your build. But that's not all! We are also in the process of choosing connector colors and comb color in the same configurator !! Regards - Martin Owren
  14. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/WKx7D3 This is a $400 build, my first. I am hoping to do some medium gaming on it, such as Portal 2 and TF2. I think the pre-installed PSU can hold out until I have the money to get a better one (I'm 14). I'm eying the Raidmax Cobra, but tell me what you think. And I know the motherboard doesn't have usb 3 connectors, but I wanted to take recommendations as to what to replace it with. Also, please keep in mind that I want to get the best products possible, but not stray too far over the $400 dollar limit. Thanks!
  15. Hello Guys! I'm a noob when it comes to PC building and I need your opinions. 16. I am looking for feedback and suggestions on the proposed build (PC Part Picker link below). Specifically, should I swap out any parts for some others or consider something else? Also, any advice to consider while building would be greatly appreciated as this is my first build. The goal of this build is to be able play current gen games at 60FPS in either 4k or ultrawide HD (3440 x 1440). Along this same vein, any recommendations for a suitable monitor would be great. I haven't decided between a 4k monitor or an ultra-wide. How noticeable is the difference that a gsync monitor makes? Could I run dual monitors with this build? Any advice and suggestions are greatly appreciated. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/FyVTQ7 CPU Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor CPU Cooler Corsair H110i GT 113.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler Motherboard Asus X99-PRO/USB 3.1 ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard Memory Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (4 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory Storage Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Video Card EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6GB HYBRID Video Card Case Phanteks Enthoo Luxe ATX Full Tower Case Power Supply EVGA SuperNOVA P2 850W 80+ Platinum Optical Drive Samsung SH-224FB/RSMS DVD/CD Writer
  17. Last night I was working on an edit in Premier and suddenly my monitors speakers started making a buzzing/tearing noise when audio was being played back, I thought maybe the Playback engine in Premier was having issues so I restarted Premier no change. I checked to see if it was just Premier, by playing some music through iTunes and on YouTube, with the same issue. I thought maybe the audio driver crashed or was having issues so I restarted the system did my music test same thing. I noticed as I audio was playing back what seemed to be that the tearing/buzzing noise was made worse by mouse movement, May have been a coincidence though. I'm guessing the monitors speakers are coming to the end of the road? Hoping not since this thing is just over a year old now. Has anyone else had this issue? Are the speakers done? Or am I missing something? Thanks.
  18. I'm about the get the MSI GE40 (like you all recommended ) as a refurbished unit because getting it new is not worth it for me. Does anyone that has owned a refurbished MSI laptop or any laptop in general have any feedback on the wear? Anything significant to point out? Thanks!
  19. Hi LTT comunity, I'm a 17 year old student that's a little too obsessed with oil pc's. After the unfortunate discontinuation of puget systems own own oil pc kit I've decided to build my own, I'm doing this crazy build as part of a UK qualification by Edexcel/Pearson called the "Extended Project Qualification" (basically do what ever you want and write about it/ build something). The whole system is made of 10mm laser cut cast acrylic and uses liquid submersion cooling in a mITX form factor so it fits on my desk. Also all dimension are in mm (the correct units ) "typical forum stuff" list is here: 1x mITX motherboard (i've decided on the Z97E-ITX/ac http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97E-ITXac/) 1x dual slot graphics card (undecided and not relevant as I only play CS:GO ) 1x i5-4690k some RAM 1x ATX psu (Superflower Leadex Gold 750W because I allready have one and it looks cool http://www.super-flower.com.tw/products_detail.php?class=2&sn=17&ID=101〈) 1x noctual NH-D9L cpu cooler (this combined with oils superior cooling properties should allow for some overclocking http://noctua.at/en/nh-d9l.html?___from_store=fr) 1x 240gb SANDISK SSD PLUS (oil resistant https://www.sandisk.co.uk/home/ssd/ssd-plus) "less typical oily stuff" 1x pump (XSPC / Laing DDC-1T Pro 3.1 (10W) http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/XSPC--Laing-DDC-1T-Pro-31-10W_45558.html) 1x pump top (XSPC Laing DDC Acrylic Pump Top V2 (Multiport) http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/XSPC-Laing-DDC-Acrylic-Pump-Top-V2-Multiport_48668.html) some 13mm/10mm fittings and tubing 1x 240mm radiator with ports at either end for intake at one side of the case and output at the other side (Black Ice Nemesis Radiator GTS 240 XFlow - Black http://www.watercoolinguk.co.uk/p/Black-Ice-Nemesis-Radiator-GTS-240-XFlow-Black_44942.html) 10l + of white mineral oil/paraffin (depending if your a british or american http://www.neatwholesale.co.uk/raw-materials/natural-ingredients/white-mineral-oil-bp?gclid=CjwKEAiAw4e1BRDfi7vghaWU9jESJACzo9jucYWZa9Bzuh9GPmphtxly5cMs8i6COzCo83dU3VwQlBoC75Hw_wcB) some generic steel handles for the lid/inner case The PC consisted of a inner and outer case that are detached but locked together by a indentation in outer cases lid, this is fairly common to puget systems original larger kits but you cant reinvent the wheel too many times (full credit to puget here). The inner case is filled with the oil while the outer case can be removed from the oil for PC maintenance/upgrading/troubleshooting. The inner and outer case is made of 10mm thick clear cast acrylic, it will be jointed with Tensol 12 acrylic cement (that will hopefully "fuse" the acrylic together for a oil tight seal), the pump is mounted on its own little ledge to maximise space efficiency, standard motherboard standoffs and standard screws will be use for mounting the various components and finally the handles are general steel handles. I'm asking for any design based feedback or advise in general I'm also very aware that oil pc's make no sense and are for stupid people with more money than sense who also want pc bragging rights (this describes me). For all of you CAD wizards I'm using solidworks 2015, I'm heavily self taught so could and CAD advise be in plain English please! I'm fairly close to needing to build it soonish due to the nature of completing this as part of a qualification. If you have any questions please ask!
  20. Hey everyone, I'm looking to build a new gaming pc, this will be my first pc that I'll build. I have been looking around for parts and I think I have a pretty good list. I'm not 100% if everything fits and works with each other. The part list: GPU: Zotac GTX 980 Ti AMP! Extreme Edition Link: https://goo.gl/hr4yBz CPU: Intel i7 6700k Link: https://goo.gl/19eHxY Motherboard: MSI Z170A Gaming PRO Link: http://goo.gl/OUzyRC RAM: Crucial Ballistix LT 16GB DDR4 2.400 MHz Link: http://goo.gl/QOisaZ Case: NZXT H440 Link: http://goo.gl/hFEfGk SSD: Kingston HyperX Fury 240 GB Link: http://goo.gl/GdqAGu HDD: Western Digital Green 2TB Link: http://goo.gl/lqS0z6 OS: Windows 10 Home PSU: Corsair HX1000i Link: https://goo.gl/5nAqcg CPU Koeling: NZXT Kraken X61 Link: http://goo.gl/FLtzqr Link are to Dutch stores...... The PC I have right now doesn't really have anything that I can carry over so I have to start fresh Buget is around €2.500 or ~$2.750. I'm going to use this machine mainly for gaming, rendering/editing videos and live-streaming.
  21. So I got this PC, prices are a bit higher than normal because I'm in Russia, I'm going to buy it tomorrow, tell me what if anything is wrong with it. 22. Having a reputation system is kind of pointless if no one uses it. No one will use it if the buttons aren't very noticeable compared to other buttons and essentially "out of the way". This is what we have now: This is what I recommend changing it to (only without the obvious stretching issue): Make the buttons as large as the multi-quote/quote/share/report buttons, and move them to the same line to save space on a page. The only reason I can think of why the two sets of buttons are separated is to differentiate their functionality. i.e. an inexperienced user might think the heart is for favoriting a post, but hovering over it tells you friendly so I think that would quickly take care of itself. It basically just wastes space separating them and keeps them "out of the way". What's the point of a rep system if no one is inclined to use it? I'm not saying beat users over the head with the buttons (i.e. make them colorful and such), but I would think my suggestion would be an improvement.
  23. Hey guys, I am new to Linus Tech Tips and new to pc building altogether. I have been watching many videos, reading articles, reviews, guides, tutorials etc to give me a better understanding of components, how they work and how to go about building my first gaming rig. The whole process is still quite overwhelming to me, with such hard decisions I have to make and no real clue as to what I am doing . I hope to make my first build primarily for gaming but also for video editing/rendering as I am a Filmmaking student and would also like to start making YouTube videos down the line. I used https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/ to come up with this list of components for my build and since I am new to this I was hoping if anybody out there can give me feedback on the build I came up with. My budget for my build is around £1050 at the moment but I do plan to upgrade in the future and want a system that will suit my needs for the foreseeable future. I expect that eventually I will want to learn how to overclock my system to improve performance and also learn how to upgrade to a multi-GPU configuration. There are still some parts I need to choose, if anybody has any suggestions I am open to any and all. Here is the list of components: CPU: Intel i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor (£251.84) w/ Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler (£24.98) GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 970 3.5GB WINDFORCE Video Card(advertised as 4GB due to marketing problems) (£275.99) Motherboard: MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition ATX LGA1150 Motherboard (£88.09) Memory: Corsair Vengence LP 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory (£39.26) Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5'' Solid State Drive (£55.76) PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply (£67.98) Case: Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case (£49.98) Total Price: £853.88 (according to PCPartPicker) Thank you for reading, I look forward to any and all feedback and I cannot wait to learn more about PC hardware and building
  24. I am going to be building my first gaming PC soon and having done some research into parts for my future system I had heard that you guys were the people to come to if I needed some assistance with the build and one that gives me the best bang for my buck! I have the peripherals covered already, It's just the system itself that I need some help with. My budget is set at £600 ($900 USD) so I'd appreciate any suggestions you may have that fall into that total. (A link to your build ideas on pcpartpicker.com would be great!) I live in the UK, just in case you needed to know. Thank you in advance! David
