Hello all, I recently got a WD Green 2TB Hard drive for my computer, which I origonally built with only a 250GB SSD. (Samsung 840) I installed it and moved all my games, music, movies, and none crutial programs to the hard drive, and went from 20GB free on the SSD to 190! I have heard about Intel Rapid Storage Technology, but I don't want to expirement with it myself and risk losing all my data.. How can I set up part of the SSD to cache the hard drive? Thank you!

Hey Guys! I'd like to have your opinion on the SanDisk Ultra Plus SSD, because they are cheap and seem to be pretty damn fast. But SanDisk isn't a very popular brand for SSD, so it would be cool if someone who owns one could tell something about it. Also i would be interested in the reliability of that drive. Thanks for your opinions :-)

It seems New Zealand is finally kicking its ultra-fast broadband plan into gear for customers. However it seems they are making residents of different cities fight each other with social media to be the first to receive the upgrade. http://gigatown.co.nz/ Each city uses twitter to cast votes for the right to receive ultra-fast broadband first. The city with the most votes after the allotted time period will be the first to receive plans with local providers.

First post! Love the youtube channel and I've had a great time looking around this forum (H440 pr0n 10/10) Anyways, my current wifi router is the stock one the ISP gave me, and it's constantly dropping. I need a new one, thinking of the ASUS RT AC68U since it's pretty cheap where I live. Will that router be sufficient for: Internet speed: 100/40 Connections: -Ethernet 2 Desktops 1 Printer 1 NAS -Wifi 3 Laptops 4 Phones 2 Tablets A few consoles (don't hurt me pc master race T.T) I'm a networking noob, so if there's anything that might be more efficient please enlighten me. Mainly use internet for gaming, streaming and watching streams (twitch). Thanks in advance for your replies!

Hoping to get an opinion from more experienced builders then my self on if this is a nice build. I'm going to mainly use it for gaming but I need it to be adaptable for other things too. Now my main question is, is there any way to make it cheaper without affecting performance or are there any parts that would be better then the ones i have now for the price range of under $2000. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/sevn35/saved/ywhmP6 Blue ray is optional and i may just not get it

Hello I'm an Asian living in Australia I'm a high school student and looking for my second laptop. A high school use laptop, so I like light thin and good looking. Speed is very important and I have to have a ssd to keep me active and also I don't need a dedicated graphic, because NOT going to play games. I like Intel more than AMD I don't know why and I'm sure ultrabook have to be a intel processes. Here is some laptop I prefer: Ausu Zenbook ux301la i7 with 256g ssd Macbook pro 13 i5 with 256g ssd Here is the reason: The ux301 is in my opinion a really beast and gorgeous looking high end laptop. it god a really nice 1440 display with really good colour accurate and clean design. That iris 5100 will really push those pixels to the really nice monitor and I just loving it. On the other side Macbook have no problem with the design, Apple always have the best built quantity. The retina display will deferentially kick the ux301's ass and I believe retina have the most good looking display I have ever used. I don't have any problems with this but but but I am a WINDOWS user and I have to run boot camp on that, but not all the time! I can forward myself around $1800 AUD so please not any more expensive than that. Please choose me either one of this or tell me a better laptop that under 1800 bucks and I tell what I think about it. Thank you. Sorry my poor English. Hi, so I just recently ordered myself a new external HDD from western digital, one of those passport ones (small handy dandy ones). I put another backup of my files on the new one, and it blew me away how fast that one was compared to my old one. They're both USB3, however the first one is a 1TB model from 2011, and my last one is a 2TB from this year. Why is the performance so different? The new one reached speeds of over 110 MB/s where the old one barly manages to hit 65 MB/s.

So I was able to scrap a couple old PC's and I got some decent parts for a budget PC build. (Seeing as the PC's I scraped were made in 2005) One of the parts I still want to use is an Intel Pentium 4 Processor. I guess my question is what PC might be out there that has DDR3 and a decent selection of ports to combine with the Pentium 4. (Its LGA socket size is 775)

Hello again, my name is Shane and today I am posting another build that I want to be 'critiqued'?(idk if that is grammatically correct but whatever). I posted a build a week ago that I asked people to critique and tell me what I can change to make this build the best possible. In the last build my budget was $2,000, but due to some changes (employment-wise) I now am able to expand to $2,500 (approx.) give or take a few dollars, but 2.5k is my max budget at the moment. Like my last post I will post the PCPartPicker list along with the link to the list. Below will be a exact copy/paste of what I asked for last post. Anyways thank you for any thoughts/comments/opinions! 1) What would be the approximate FPS rates of this build in certain games. Battlefield 4 (Low - Ultra) Minecraft (Low - Ultra) Far Cry (Low - Ultra) Tomb Raider (Low - Ultra) Call of Duty (Low - Ultra) Metro Last Light (Low - Ultra) Wolfenstein : The New Order (Low - Ultra) Eliet Dangerous (Low - Ultra) Any other games that you would have an approx. idea of preformance. BTW - I don't know the specific settings of all of these games, but for simplicity sake, I used low and ultra for all of the games. I am going to say "Low" means basic/average settings, and "Ultra" as every setting in the game maxed out. I don't expect people to know all of the game performance specifics. Just anything you have a good idea of would be greatly appreciated! Also what would the recording while gaming performance be like? (fraps) 2) Would it stay cool enough? What would I want to configure the fans for? I don't know much about fan configs (like push/pull stuff). Is the CPU water cooler. 3) What kind of rendering performance would I get with this? (Premiere Pro CC and Adobe After Effects CC) 4) Any peripherals I should add/change? (Already have a nice set of computer speakers) 5) Is thermal compound a GREAT, Good, or just ok idea? How much will this assist in the cooling of my CPU? 6) How loud will this be? Like the PSU, Case Fans, HDD, ect (I know the graphics card is very quiet in dynamic fan mode) 7) Other info / suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED! Ok, now here is the build and the link in the spoiler below! OK, so I am planning on setting this up in my bedroom, in the basement. (It is usually around 3-4 degrees (ºF) colder down there than the rest of the house. Avg. 67-68ºF). I usually always have a Vornado fan going in my room during the summer and a Ceramic Element heater during the winter (about 64-65ºF during winter without it), but I assume the heat produced from the computer will be able to keep my room a bit warmer than that without the Ceramic Element. Anyways, that is all I have for you today guys. Let me know what you think and again, thank you for any feedback! EDIT: I just realized the RAM may be too high for voltage. But what is it that it isn't compatible with. CPU? Motherboard? PSU?

Hi guys, I went to a shop and they said that having a msi motherboard with the msi gpu would have automatically have faster speeds because of the compatibility. I am getting the g5 motherboard with the msi gtx970. He said speeds increase of 5% when the motherboard and gpu are together. Is this true? Thanks for any reply!

AMD's 5Ghz flagship FX 9590 processor has been listed on TigerDirect sporting a hefty price tag of 829$, along with its younger sibling the 4.7Ghz FX 9370 for 319$, similar to what you'd normally pay for a 3770K or a 4770K. How these new chips stand in terms of performance is yet to be seen, but I'd expect reviews to pop up within a week or so. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8324286&SRCCODE=WEBGOO0163C&cm_mmc_o=mH4CjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE&gclid=CO-CqPy3mbgCFU_ZQgodQxUAVw http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8324285&SRCCODE=WEBGOO0163C&cm_mmc_o=mH4CjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE&gclid=CMjH0ti3mbgCFQ9eQgodXUQArw UPDATE: Some performance numbers for you guys : CineBench R11.5 – 8.62 Points WinRAR – 9249 KB/s 7-ZIP – 28860 MIPS Fritz Chess – 15678 Kilonodes/S 3DMark Vantage – 27127 KB/s 3DMark 11 – 8529 Physics Score 3DMark FireStrike – 9571 Physics Score x264 HD – 29 AIDA64 – 26751/17515/22754 MB/s (58.3 ns) http://forums.vr-zone.com/hardware-depot/2884721-the-amd-fx-9590-fx-centurion-preview.html

Hey guys, just got a EA4500 and fiber in my house. Asi you can infer, this router is Simultaneous Dual-Band enabled, so I wanted to know how to set it up correctly. I'll live a pic of my current setup, but as the 5 and 2.4 GHz spectrums are named the same, I need to know if my devices will choose 5GHz or 2.4 GHz when more convenient? Example: My PS3 is close to the router so it will choose 5GHz automatically to get more speed for gaming (not that I use it anyways ;) ) My laptop is far awat so it will choose 2.4 GHz to get more range sacrifising a bit of speed. Is this like this?

Hello all! I'm buying a car. However, I don't know which one to get... I want a sports car, that is a joy to drive. I'm looking between five. Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, Mazda MX-5, and the Nissan 370z. Of the cars listed above, what do you guys think? Do you think one is better than the rest? Any help would be awesome The Mazda and the Nissan have been removed from this list, because I don't fit... (6 foot 5 inches.)

I have seen some gosh awful boot times in my life. The longest I think I have ever seen was about 3 or 4 minute. The fastest I have ever seen is 11.4 seconds. Standard Harddrive and from POST. Strictly Turn it off and Turn it back on. What y'all got?

Mine would be 91mph , What's your? Post away , Don't forget to give a thumbs up if you like it...

There seems to be a lot of Aussies here, lets discuss what's going on with the two network plans, as it's something we clearly all have an interest in. For any non-Aussies (or Aussies out of the loop) that would like to be involved, here's what's going on: The Labor Party, which is currently in government, has started building the National Broadband Network, which is essentially a Fibre to Premise network to 93% of the premises in the nation, and satellite services to the rest. As no company (specifically Telstra, the now-publicly owned corporation responsible for the current copper network and the majority of mobile infrastructure in the nation) would have any part in this, the government created NBN Co (ironically, this was exactly how Telstra was founded). NBN co is a government owned corporation, that has designed, is currently building, and will maintain the network in the future, regardless of which plan goes ahead. The Coalition, which is likely to be voted into power this year, intends on changing the network plan to be "Fast. Affordable. Sooner," where NBN co will essentially be building half of the original NBN to nodes, then using the current copper network to reach the surrounding premises. This plan has been backed by Telstra, whom would be very happy to see their obsolete copper network still being used for another hundred years. If I suck at explaining it, here is a 4 minute explanation from a show on the Government station, & you can be sure as hell they don't say it like that on the commercial ones. And to all you non-Aussies, yes, that is pretty much what all the political commentary is like over here

I've recently reinstalled onto my first SSD and I'd really like some useful software recommendations to keep my rig running at full potential. Before I reinstalled I used IOBit Advanced System care but I'm kinda sick of IOBit's crap; so any advice? Specs in my signature. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate.

Hey guys, So internet speeds of up to 1 gigabytes/second just rolled out in my area and I was wondering what would be the best Wifi solution to take advantage of these blisteringly fast speeds? I thought of building my own pfSense router and then using Ubiquiti access points, but I'm sure there are more solutions than that. It wouldn't be just over Ethernet. It would be 1 GBps Wifi and it would have to reach those speeds across a lot of devices. Any thoughts? Thanks! Ethan
