Hello! I got a riddle for yah! My laptop becomes very hot and thermal throttles when I play games on high to max settings such as GTA V, Mass Effect Andromeda, Halo Infinite. The sound starts to sound distorted if I plug in my headset or in ear headphones using the AUX input, if I use my bluetooth speaker the audio is fine, after that the screen becomes black and the fans starts to go to 100% but the computer does not turn off unless I hold down the power button for a reset. It is like the computer goes into a locked state with the fans blasting full power. I have tried other games that are less demanding without any issues, only when I play games that are demanding on the hardware the sound becomes distorted and choppy, after that in certain games the computer screen goes black and locks up. First I thought it was an audio issue because it happened after 5-10 minutes of gameplay, but I found out recently that the audio issue only appear when I play games that make the computer thermal throttle. The GPU is not what is getting so warm but the CPU when I check hardware info for temps before the screen goes black when I replicate the issue. My laptop specifications: Gigabyte 15P XC OS: Windows 10 Home 64 bit Soundcard: Realtek BIOS: FB07 CPU: Intel i7-10870H GPU: Nvidia 3070 8gb RAM: 32gb NVME SSD m.2 512gb (C:) NVME SSD m.2 1TB (D:) Is it normal for a "gaming laptop" these days to thermal throttle this bad or is there something wrong with my laptop? I started trying out other games and I noticed that in some games the sound is distorted, crackles up with choppinezz in the gameplay after 5-10minutes and other more demanding titles the screen goes black and locks up so I have to reset the laptop. Thanks in advance for your advice fellow gamers! I am in need of help because I wanna play the gaimz on the heigh graphixz.

Before I elaborate further and continue this discussion, I'm going to start at step 1 - For what reason would Pins 1 and 4 be shorted from the factory on the wire harness for my Asetek AIO liquid cooling pump in my Hewlett Packard desktop computer? This particular Asetek pump only utilizes 3 wires between the motherboard and pump, however pins 1 and 4 are shorted together with a small jumper wire at the plug. What would the purpose of doing this serve?

So I just installed my Peerless Assassin 120 se and one of the fans are always at full speed. Is there any fix for that? The second one follows the fan curve perfectly but the other doesn't.

Hey, I'm experiencing a strange issue with my Gigabyte RTX 2060. The fans can not be controlled by any software. I've tried 3rd party, Aorus Engine, MSI Afterburner and everything inbetween. The reason why I'm desperate to control the cooling fans is because as soon as the GPU hits any kind of load, the fans ramp up to 100% and never comes back down until I restart the system. At idle the GPU is sitting at 29-31 degrees celsius and under load (typically MW2) it's sitting at 55-65 degrees. Even with headset on it sounds like my computer is trying to fly away. In Aorus engine none of the sliders will even move. It is detecting my GPU, but nu functions are available. In MSI Afterburner the slider on the dashboard can be adjusted, and the GPU fan speed curve can be adjusted. But my card will not obey. In fan control by Rem0o, it is detecting the GPU, but is greyed out so it can not be controlled. Has anyone encountered the same issue before?

I am planning on buying Meshify 2 Case. It says it has the Nexus+ 2 Fan Hub included which supports 6 3-Pin Fans and 2 PWM Fans. Now my question is. If i hook all fans onto that Hub, will i still be able to manually control all the fans? or will they all run on the same RPM? Will the 6 3-Pin fans all run the same and i can control the other 2 PWM fans? Can anyone explain it to me? https://www.fractal-design.com/products/cases/meshify/meshify-2/black-tg-dark-tint/

For the last couple of months I have been having issues with my cpu fan I have changed the cooler up to 5 times and each time it runs at full speed, today I switched the cpu and chassis fans headers around and i discovered that the chassis fans began to run at 100% with absolutely no control just like my cpu fan did everytime. This means something is wrong with my cpu header but I don't know what, what could be the issue and is there a way to fix it or alternative device to control the fans? Thanks!

So yesterday i bought a noctuna nt-h1 for my i5-11400, i applied it and yes temps did change a lot even with the stock cooler. i applied it yesterday and i took the cpu cooler off today because i felt like i applied too much but nope it perfectly is spread across the CPU surface and fan base. Do i need to re-apply tho since i took the heatsink off ? or is it good to go ?

Hi, Today I started building a pc for my dad until i found out my system fan connectors do not fit the system fan headers on my motherboard. So far I've tried everything I can think of, and nothing has solved the issue, ehich is why I came for help here. The motherboard i am using is the Gigabyte Aorus B560i pro AX. You can see the headers, as well as the fan connectors on the pictures attached. I'd be extremely grateful for every tip/solution.

So I broke this window fan I would've tried soldering the blade back on but I don't have the blade now (it broke a while ago) I would've also liked to replace the fan blades entirely but I haven't found one on amazon or ebay. Closest I got is some 3 blade plastic ones So I'm asking if anyone knows where I can find a replacement blade? If anything could work well as a next best (like the 3 blade one)? The type of fan is shown in the 3rd picture If there is just no chance of fixing it then I'll just need somewhere to trade it in or some way to dispose of it safely

Hey guys! My CPU temps have always been pretty high which is something I've only recently discovered to be a problem. Under load my CPU reaches 95 C and thermal throttles. I've reapplied thermal paste, fiddled with my power plan adjusted for ryzen CPUs and normal balanced and my CPU still reaches 95 C during load. I suspect it's due to my case and my fans. My front fan is intake at 140mm, radiator fan (exhaust) is 120mm and I've got a rear exhaust at 120mm. My case is the pretty old N500. My GPU is undervolted and the temps are fine. I would hope that I don't have to change the case and that buying and mounting x3 120mm Arctic P12 Silents (result would be (x2) 120mm Intake front, (x1) 120mm back exhaust, (x1) 140 radiator exhaust). Pretty sure my Motherboard doesn't control more than 1-2 fans so I would have to buy a splitter. PC is clean from dust and the Windows is relatively freshly reinstalled. OS: Windows 10 Pro PC Case: N500 KKN2 CPU: Ryzen 7 3800XT (Not overclocked) CPU Cooler: AeroCool Core plus (There are definitely better, but shouldn't get to 95 C under load?) GPU: MSI RTX 3070 Ventus 2X OC Motherboard (Version): Prime B350M-K (5602) RAM: DDR4 2x8 Corsair (2666)

I have an ROG Crosshair VIII HERO wifi: https://rog.asus.com/motherboards/rog-crosshair/rog-crosshair-viii-hero-wi-fi-model/ And in it, it has some fan built-in (right behind the GPU) for... no idea. It makes a terrible noise since the start of March, seems like the engine of that mini fan is failing and it's not spinning anymore (correctly). Is there any way to disable it in BIOS or something like that short of ripping it out of the mobo? mobo: ROG Crosshair VIII HERO cpu: AMD Ryzen 5800x3d GPU: 2080ti

Hi guys! Recently I have bought a RTX 3080 ti EVGA xc3. I have undervolted my GPU so It only uses 240w during loads and doesn't go past 68C so I can use it with my 580w PSU during the time that my new PSU gets shipped. (It will take around 2 weeks) My PSU is about 6 years old but I've never had any problems with it when I had my previous GPU (GTX 1070 ti), which drew about 180w during loads. I tested my new GPU with various Benchmarks and gaming loads for hours and it never crashed or overheated. But, there has been three instances in which I got a black screen, with my GPU fans ramping up to %100, requiring a restart. 1. Once when I plugged in a USB drive 2. Once when I Alt-tabbed out of a game during loading 3. And the last time when I had my pc idling on desktop when I was taking a nap. I woke up and I saw that the fans are at %100 and the screen is black. (I don't think I had any programs running) I examined the GPU power cables and I found out that one of them was quite not inserted entirely, and just a small bit of it was hanging out. I haven't had any crashes in the past day. I will keep this thread updated. I had a few questions: 1. Could that loose cable be the culprit? 2. Have I damaged my Graphics Card? 3. Can I use my PSU with the mentioned GPU/CPU undervolts and TDP limits for the next couple of days? Appreciate any advices! My specs are: PSU: Green 580w-EUD (It is a very reputable brand around here) (https://en.green.ir/products/power-supply/gp580a-eud) CPU: Intel Core i7 10700k (TDP limited to 125w) (due to my cooler being a Hyper 212 - will upgrade it later) GPU: RTX 3080 ti EVGA xc3 (undervolted to 240w) RAM: 16 GB DDR4 MOBO: ASUS Z490P

Hi I have a nvidia 1070 asus rog on a asus 270f gaming mobo, the cpu is 7700k, all clocks are stock. Since today (27.03) one of my gpu fans, the farthest one to the left have started to act up. It goes to a 100% in game for no reason. The game this first started occurring was persona 5, then I decided to see if this might be game specific and moved to league, madafaka went full speed IN CLIENT... (just to clarify I have played persona 5 and league before and everything was fine) I really dont understand what happened especially since it was fine just yesterday, I updated the nvidia drivers but to no avail ofcourse, I also downloaded asus gpu tweak 3 and guess what, not only it didnt help but also the fan would just not stop, meaning that if there was less intense moment in game or if I would close it completely, THE FAN WOULD NOT STOP GOING 100% BUT ONLY THAT ONE. I had to uninstall this piece of garbage of my pc for it to start working somewhat again. PLZ HALP I SUCK AND TROUBLESHOTING

I am using the Segotep 360 case. And on this case, I install a fan like this, ae see if it helps me if that is optimal? In front, I installed 3 14cm fans that suck air from the outside into the case, on the side I installed 2 more fans that also suck outside air into the case (because this case can be installed with 2 fans). Behind, I have 1 fan that draws the air in the case to the outside. Scatter aio 360, I install above. PLS HELP ME Thank you very much. A friend advised me that the 2 fans on the side should be directed to suck air from the inside of the case to the outside, but according to many video reviews on youtube, it is not good to leave it like that (it can be said to be wasteful). BECAUSE: THE AIR THAT HAS JUST BEEN SUCKED IN FROM THE PREVIOUS 3 FANS MUST COME OUT IMMEDIATELY THROUGH THE 2 SIDE FANS. I find this quite true. What do people think about this?

I just installed my Ryzen 7 5700X and after booting, it said something about Tpm, so I clicked Y to reset it. It seems to be working fine, but my Ethernet stopped working and my cpu fans are constantly spinning on my aio (spinning fast). How do I fix this? Are they’re any drivers I need to install? Do I maybe need to add more thermal paste?

As you see in the pictures, my PCI cable and RGB strip are hanging infront of the lower intake fan wich is getting fresh air to my GPU (rtx 3070). Is this obstructing the airflow to the GPU much? Do i need to rout them differently? (I honestly dont want to, I just finished cablemanagement) I also built a shroud for the fan to get more airflow underneeth my GPU. Do you think it helps much?

The case fan that came in my prebuilt is 4-pin, 12V, 0.2A. So 2.4W After almost being an idiot and almost ordering the 5V version, I want to get this right. Does lower amperage on a fan matter? The Noctua NF-A8 I am looking at is 4-pin, 12V, 0.08A. Which is just 0.96W. As it's a much higher quality fan I'm assuming this won't mean less airflow. But will it work properly? Thank you for your help.

So, In the near future I'm going to buy a new AIO cooler (probably Cooler Master ML120L/120 Lite) and, as any cooler does, comes with an included fan. Now, I currently have only one fan1 on my Cooler Master MB311L case (on the back, pulling air out of the system), and I want to replace it with the AIO radiator. Now, I'll have an extra fan (the included one with the case), that I was thinking to put in front of the case, making an horizontal pull-push air configuration. What happens (and its the main question of this topic) is that I have a GPU that has horizontal fins2 (looking it from the front of the GPU), so, the only way for the hot air to go is from the front (PCIe bracket) and the back (Front of the case) of the GPU. I was wondering, if I add a fan, that pushes air in the other way as the gpu pushes it3, will it make it perform worse than just not putting fan in front of it? What other fan configs can I make that wont make my thermals worse? Note 1: Current Setup. Note 2: Horizontal GPU fins. Note 3: New Setup. Regards.

Hi all, Over the years a rattling has started from either the case fan or the heatsink fan. I've just now disconnected the case fan. I believe I still occasionally hear the rattling. My Coolermaster heat sink was never the appropriate size for this case. When I close the case, the lid presses against the top of the Coolermaster (just the 4 outcropping corners of the unit, no contact is being made with any actual functioning parts). I think that is potentially it. Any other reason for a rattling sound? Also, should I have any fear keeping the case fan disconnected (blowing hot air out of the case). The Coolermaster I have I think produces quite a bit of cool air inside the case. I don't do anything crazy with the rig. Currently monitoring it with Open Hardware Monitor. I could get a replacement case fan but if leaving it disconnected removes the rattling sound and doesn't produce a problem otherwise, then I may just leave it that way. Thank you for any tips

Bought this: Other details: Current build is in sig. I'm just wondering if this is good to cool my CPU (3600), and later something like a 10700k ? And is one fan enough or should I have bought a second one? Also if someone knows how much thermal paste is included that would be awesome (basically enough for the swap I'll do later, so 3x cpu 'change'?)
