this is currently on sale for 500 Euro. Is there something equally good? I dont need the touch screen, I dont need the yoga flex option. I only need the lappy for surfing and youtube, and g suite in the cloud. I am very sensitive to noise levels, can this cpu be tamed with software? i think it is not underclockable undervoltable, right? so given that I dont want fan noise and I only do light surfing, is this good for me for the price? thanks for all help! 5 PRO 5675U ThinkPad L13 Yoga Gen 3 21BBCTO1WWDE3 1 € 498.96 Product Image Processor: AMD Ryzen™ 5 PRO 5675U Processor (2.30 GHz up to 4.30 GHz) Product Image Operating System: Windows 11 Home (64 Bit) Product Image Language of the Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64 – WE (EN/FR/DE/NL/IT) Product Image Microsoft Software for Productivity: None Product Image Total Memory Capacity: 16 GB DDR4-3200MHz (soldered) Product Image Hard Drive: 512 GB SSD, M.2 2242, PCIe 4.0, TLC, OPAL 2.0 Product Image Display: 13.3" WUXGA (1920 x 1200), IPS, matte, smudge-resistant, multitouch, 72% NTSC, 500 cd/m², 60 Hz, ePrivacy privacy filter

I have a fan hub but I don't know how to connect it to the motherboard to be able to control the fans and LEDs via software, the motherboard has both 5V RGB pin and 12V but I don't know which cable I should take to connect the hub, I leave an image of the hub hoping that someone can advise me which cable to take and where to connect it

As my rig is in a kind of niche under my desk, open only on the front and with some air at the back from cable cuts in the side and top, I've setup airflow in the reverse way : rear and top intake , front exhaust Rear was 1x P14 Top 2x P14s on an AIO 280 rad Front 3x 120mm TR TL-C12 fans I started with a standard airflow setup, but heat couldn't get out fast enough and the temp rose in the whole area around the case, now it can and the area stays at ambient I've also added mesh magnetic panels to filter dust back and top, that work pretty well (got 3 cats, 2 with long hair..) Problem is I need a beefy rear fan and the P14 wasn't that effective, it's only 1400rpm max, so I tried to replace it with high performance fan, but still need the rig to be quiet as it's in my living room Started with P12 Max, but the thing has an insufferable super high pitched wailing noise even at medium speed I can't get rid of Then NF-A12 IPPC, better but noise is still hard to stand at more than 1800rpm Thinking about getting a T30, but here (France) it's 40EUR apiece, would like to know if someone use one at say 2000+ rpm and what's the noise it makes ? Sure I can browse benchmarks, but dB level isn't that useful for rl experience, as noise perception depends on frequencies : my P14 full blast are quite audible but it's a frequency low enough to be bearable, where higher pitched noise from 120mm is usually harder to stand for me

Hey all, I recently bought myself a new pc and ever since I was struggling with my case fans. I had 4 no-name fans delivered with my case, all connected over a fan hub. Their minimum speed were 1600 rpm, yet they were able to go higher. So I bought new fans since I thought they were the problem, but nope. I bought a new fan hub, but that also didn't work, the speed of the new fans is still at 1600 rpm. When I plug my fans directly onto the motherboard, I can access their full range, yet want to use a fan header for the amount of fans that I got. The question now is: What can I do to reduce the rpm of the fans connected to the hub? Motherboard: TUF GAMING B450-PLUS II Fans: Arctic p12 max (bad decision in retrospect) (very desperate)

How do I connect high amperage fan to the motherboard safely?
YeetTheAn3On posted a topic in Cooling
I have 2 server fans I want to install to a closed PC with 2 GPUs for better ventilation. Each fan draws 2.5 amps and the mobo fan headers are capped at 1 amp. If I connect the positive and negative wire of the fan straight to the PSU, and PWM & TACH to the motherboard, will unsafe current run from the PSU to the mobo? -
Hello. I have a Biostar H61MHV3 motherboard . It has 1 - 4 pin header for cpu fan and 1 - 3 pin header for case fan . I have 2 - 4 pin fans . Even after I disable PWM in the bios settings , case fan aways runs at full speed . I tried controlling the fan with Fan control app ( https://getfancontrol.com/ ) while PWM is off/on . The app says that case fan is not controllable . So i am wondering if I connect up both fans PWM cable together to the cpu header, what would be the concequences ? Will i have trouble with PWM after that ?

Hey everyone! I have some noise issues with DeepCool LS720 WH fans. I know that they're loud in general, but I keep hearing really annoying, irregular buzzy noises peaking at around 850RPM, and whistling/whining sound being the loudest at around 1450RPM. Well, weird symphony in general. Every of 3 fans emits this kind of noises at some point. I contacted DeepCool support and they sent me 3 new fans, but the story was the same with the new ones. The noise sounds really similarly to this, but sometimes is very loud (can even hear it from another room when the load is like 40%): https://youtu.be/i3Qs07Qgdjw?feature=shared Has anyone of you experienced something similar? Obviously I adjusted the fans curve to avoid the most noisy RPM ranges, but it's still annoying at some point and disappointing for this product to hear these noises. I thought of buying other fans for this cooler, what do you think about Corsair AF120 Elite (white RGB version to match the aesthetics)? I heard that they are really high-quality and quiet fans for radiators, and they don't seem to be extremely expensive.

Hello everyone! I would like to ask for your help with my PC. I've been searching through the internet for any clues how can I set up my chassi and CPU fans so they are not loud. The problem right now is: they are not quiet and when the CPU reaches a certain temperature, they go crazy and work on full speed and I found 0 solutions how could I work around this problem, since i would like to have my PC generally quiet and right now it's not quiet at all and they start to work super fast and loud during games, which is annoying. My rig is: Motherboard: ASUS TUF Z370 PLUS GAMING II processor: i5-9600k gpu: RTX 3060 16GB of DDR4 2666hz RAM Zalman Z9 Neo Black chassi Noctua fans (2x) Also when I put my rig together, I did it with a "friend", who is more familiar with tech stuff than me, but since some time we are not talking (sadly) so I would like to ask for some advice with overclocking, since I bought these components in order to be able to overclock this rig (CPU). I would like to thank everyone in advance for any help they can give me!

Hello everyone, I am running into a strange issue. I upgraded my GPU to a 3080 TI and had to purchase a new PSU. I got the Corsair RM850e and on the back of the box it advertises zero-fan operation so long as less than 170 watts are being drawn. At idle though, the PSU fan still spins. Here is what is in my machine: - R5 5600 with Noctua NH-U12S Redux fan (120mm) - 3080 TI founders edition - 2 basic NZXT fans running somewhere between 40-65% - TP-Link wifi card - ZERO RGB According to the Nvdia performance overlay, my GPU is "sipping" about 30 watts at idle which I would imagine is the most power hungry thing given the 5600 has a TDP of 65W. I don't see what could be drawing enough power to justify the PSU fan kicking on unless the PSU is defective? The temperature in my room is about 75 F. Any advice?

I am stuck. I have started moving my system to a much better case but I think my previous case had a fan controller. I can't figure out why I can't get any of my case fans to spin. Photo 1 is what I am building in. A lian li lancool 216. The next photo is the fan connection board that I've taken out of my old nzxt phantom 630 case which could just power all of the fans from a simple slider switch. Is there such a thing as a power cable that just connects from the motherboard to this fan connection board to just power all of the case fans at the same speed all the time from one header or am I too hopeful and I need to buy a fan controller? Lian li do one but I do not care for rgb at all. Can I connect all of this using that or should I think about a pwm (pcie slot?) fan controller. The fans are stock except for the obvious 4 x noctua NFA14

Hi Everyone! So I built my first PC a month ago and I've been enjoying it so far and haven't had any issues with it other than PSU coil wine when I play or do anything on the system that demands a lot of power I guess? Or at least that's what I've been able to diagnose (Corsair HX850 PSU btw, and yes I made sure it was my PSU and not GPU). Just wanted to ask questions about my exhaust fans (3 and 5 - See the Diagram for reference), and more specifically my top mounted 140mm exhaust fans. I've realized that the one near the rear of the case is the one that usually exhausts the hot air out more than the one in front of it, because when I put my hand over both of them the one towards the rear is usually exhausting hotter air. The other one is usually exhausting colder air which tells me that it's not really doing anything, so I've been thinking should just reverse both and have them be intake fans as the GPU hotspot temp usually hits 80 degrees-ish when I'm gaming on maxed everything (with RTX if its stable enough, although its not too much of a concern for me). This would mean the only exhaust fan would be the rear stock fan that came with the Lian Li Lancool 3. YES I AM AWARE that the extra PCIE cables are hanging onto the 24 pin motherboard connector but I don't really feel like cutting them off and you know, it works lol. Thoughts, comments, recommendations would be nice as I'm kind of learning how to optimize my system as I go; this is all a new experience to me, I've also added 4 pics for you guy to look at. Thanks :)

Hi guys, so I own a 1080Ti by Palit, a non-reference version with open style heatsink. I'm having some wobbly fan on one side that's been bothering me a lot, so I'm planning to follow this LTT video. But I'm noob so i'd like to know more. So TLDR is that attaching some case fan could be a good solution for an open style heatsink. But is the optimal way to attach the fans to the chassis header? Would that be good enough for a fan control to tame the GPU?

For a while now when I shutdown my PC, my CPU fan + case fans would still run after shutdown except GPU fans, but the LEDs of GPU is still on after shutdown. This just started occurring randomly one day and did not think much of it But when I shutdown my PC today ONLY my CPU fan and 1 of my 3 case fan was still running aswell as the GPU fans. When I shutdown the PC the screen goes black and then you can hear the the fans start to spin full speed after shutdown The CPU fan is connected to my motherboard and the 1 case fan that keeps running is connected directly to my PSU via a molex connector The other two is connected to my motherboard but does not spin I have to cut the power to PSU to make the fans stop And when I restore power to the PSU, without turning on my PC to boot, the CPU fan and GPU fans and that 1 case fans just starts running again If I power on the PC the other fans start to spin and the PC boots up normally I haven't changed any settings or installed any new programs recently I already disabled fast start up Does anyone know what might be the problem here?

I bought a Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super Gaming OC White way back in December as a Christmas present for myself, and a few months after buying it I suddenly noticed the GPU fans will randomly ramp up to ~4,000 RPM for a second or so, and then go back down to the normal ~2,000-2,500 RPM that I have set on my fan curve. This will happen every few minutes or so while the GPU is under load, but I've noticed that it's almost guaranteed to happen when loading into battles and loading the garage in War Thunder. According to HWiNFO, my GPU never goes any higher than ~74 degrees when playing games, and according to my fan curve, my GPU fan should be sitting around 74% speed, or ~2,300 RPM - which it does perfectly fine, except for the few seconds that it decides to ramp up to 4,000 RPM. I do some very minor overclocking with MSI Afterburner, which I also use for my fan curve. I've tried disabling MSI Afterburner's overclock, using Gigabyte's shitty Aorus Engine fan control instead, using no fan control at all, etc. but to no avail. I also use Process Lasso for RAM cleaning and core prio and stuff, but afaik that program doesn't touch GPU fan control at all. The GPU is practically new, so dust shouldn't be any sort of issue, but I even looked in the system and gave it a good spray just in case. Also tried updating drivers, downgrading drivers, removing and re-seating the GPU, basically everything I can think of. So to me it looks like all I can do is just RMA. But that's where this post comes in. I've heard so, so many horror stories about Gigabyte support and RMA. Either it taking months to get their parts back, getting their parts back still broken and needing to RMA again, waiting weeks for replies from support, and overall just very shitty customer service. I was about to RMA, but the problem started happening right around when everything started getting crazy with the pandemic (coincidence?). After hearing all these horror stories not only about Gigabyte, but about tremendously long shipping times and whatnot in general, I decided I'd just deal with the noise because I was living with my family and had my own room. I'm back at college now, though (for now at least..), and I feel as if the noise of my GPU fans are too loud and I feel too embarrassed to play games when my roommate is in the room (all his classes are online so he hasn't left the dorm since Sunday morning, send help). So basically I'd be incredibly grateful for any sort of ideas on what the issue could be so that I could avoid an RMA, if possible. I'd be more than happy to supply any sort of test results or information that you may need to help troubleshoot - thanks so much!

Hi all, I have a two part question regarding the fan on my GPU. Reference pics attached. Part one I'm expecting the answer to be that the fan is broken and needs replacing, however I'm not familiar enough with the hardware to know for sure. Part two is the best way to go about doing said replacement if necessary as I'm not sure whether replacing just the fan is recommended etc. I've had my Desktop for about a year now (pre-build) and recently one of the fans on my RTX3070 started making an annoying grating noise, consistently ramping up and stopping completely. I reinstalled the graphics drivers via DDU which didn't seem to work. I also installed MSI Afterburner where I can see the fan speed for both one and two show the same/expected speeds. The tachometer for fan 2 does appear to show the stop-starting which makes me suspect this is a hardware issue, since the fan speeds show the right values. Please correct me if I'm wrong here. Anyway, I was able to remove the GPU where it's quite obvious the fan in question is raised away from the card. I'm able to press the fan back down into place but the spring keeps it from staying there. I'm also able to take the fan completely off the card with zero resistance which I assume isn't supposed to happen since I can't do any of this with the other fan. I can remove the bearing and the spring from the fan, and it looks like there's a second bearing still inside the axle hole. Given all this I'm hoping for some confirmation that the fan is in fact obviously broken, or some advice on what to try next if not. Additionally, if the fan is broken is it feasible for me to order a new fan and install it myself or am I SOL unless I want to get a new card? Or can I potentially fix it without this with what I already have? Any and all advice is welcome IMG_4659.MOV

Hi, So as the video shows, the fan refuses to start if I don't give it a little push with my finger. This happens about 2/3 times. It's a new build about a week old now. haven't noticed it until now by accident. It doesn't matter if I set the fan to 100% in fan control in the GIGABYTE MB control app, same in BIOS, I need to give it a little spin to start. I've tried to see if any dirt or something would be blocking it but can't see anything that's wrong. There's no strange sounds or anything, it works perfectly ones it starts.... Any ideas or someone who was had this problem in the past? Video.eml

Currently my problem is that everytime i boot up a game that will make my temperatures go above 60 celcius, my GPU fans will start going crazy, it actually scares me how they just suddenly start spinning very very fast and its very loud. I have tried MSI afterburner, set up custom fan curves, messed with the fan settings, nothing makes any changes at all. Manually adjusting fan speed does nothing nor does the curves. Here comes the weird part, after i close the game that was making my temperatures and fans go crazy, it still doesn't stop. Im looking at my temps on my desktop and both CPU and GPU are about 30-35 celcius. Still the fans are spinning very fast and are still very loud. I was looking at my msi afterburner hardware monitor and it says that my fan speed is at a stable 25, although my fans are making noises equivalent to a jet engine. PLEASE HELP! I have tried to reinstall my nvidia drivers, I set up a CPU fan curve in bios, but the problem are the GPU fans, afterburner does nothing.

Hello Linus Community. I have a question, I always want to ask about my PC Chassis Fans. One of the Fan (Chassis Fan 03) stops after every few seconds and runs again automatically. Is this normal? I am using Asus ROG Strix B550-F Gaming (WiFi), and my BIOS version is 0243 (I understand it's an old version). How I can control that fan speed or if the fan is required to be replaced? Another question related to the same topic is that I have recently Installed Asus AI Suite 3, and there I cannot see any activity about AIO Pump. I am using DEEP COOL CPU cooler for my Ryzen 9 3950x CPU. Any help will be appreciated. Thank You in Advance.

So i arleady picked parts for a new pc, but im not sure about the fan and argb controller, will this controller be good enough for 5 argb fans and 1 normal, also im going to plug AIO fans into it, so will it be able to controll them differently from the rest of the fans? and if there is something wrong with this controller tell me if you have better options. also im buying the lianli 216 rgb, and it supposedly has a controller arleady, but i have no idea if its also for the rgb, and if it will have enough ports for all the fans.

This started happening yesterday (win 10 pro). Before yesterday I used the computer in Balanced mode for like 5+ days without any issue. I didn't do anything, didn't change a single setting etc. turned my computer on fans didn't start even after putting load on computer changing power modes started the fans and they worked as long as the laptop was in Turbo / Manual mode getting back to Balanced mode sometimes worked but other times fans turned off and stayed like that +Armory Crate (or idk why it happened) made my Advanced Power Options disappear and when I re-added them in cmd the settings were.. interesting? Quick windows reinstall Now I'm on a new windows install (win 11 pro), I just use G-helper. Here's what happened now: i was in turbo mode to begin with changed to balanced mode, started a game, fans stayed at 0% even after cpu got up to 80C changed back to turbo, fans started spinning changed back to balanced, now fans start auto and everything works as intended As I'm writing this Balanced mode works BUT even tho I use this fan curve, my fans stay at 0% till the cpu hits around 70C. <--- I wrote this 5mins ago and now my fans are spinning again around 60c. Aaaand as soon as i wrote this down cpu cooled back to under 60, fans turned off, now we're back to 60+ and 0% fans. I'm absolutely lost, had laptops in the past but this is completely new to me. edit: started an aida64 stress test in turbo mode. Fans went ham, stopped the stress test. Changed back to balanced mode, started the test again and the fans just went down to 0% and didn't start despite the test running. What even is this. edit2: restarted the pc and now balanced mode works again as intended during game

Hello ! I have an issue with my GPU, a Galax/KFA2 1080 Exoc SNIPER https://www.kfa2.com/kfa2/graphics-card/sniper-edition/kfa2-geforcer-gtx-1080-exoc-sniper-white.html One of my fans (the single-wired one, the closest to the display ports) has been quite noisy recently : I wanted to replace it, I contacted the customer service, they reponded that they sell parts, and redirect me to alibaba.com So I purchased what seemed to be a corresponding replacement: https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B09HBQDLY9 I replaced it this morning, has some trouble with the wires but it did the job : My issue is that the new fan seems to be always at 100% speed, no matter what curve I am using on Msi Afterburner : Did I screwed up & damaged a cable ? Is it because I only replaced one fan, and not two fans, and they are not compatible ? Could it be just a faulty fan ? Thanks !

So today i heard weird noises in my pc case as if it's a fan making a buzzing noise showing that i thought a fan was being hit to a wire or something so i tried to see if the issue was any of the CPU, GPU, Case fans and no none of them seem to be the issue. One weird thing that happens is tho that when i put my finger on the side panel or unscrew one or two screw's of the tempered glass it's gone. when i take the temperes glass completely off and i shake my case gently it's back. but when i put my finger on the BACK of the psu or the area around it or even the top of my case when i touch it a push gently with my finger it's gone. and it also happens when my case has only 3 legs on the desk for example but the third one (the front one) is in the air loose. It happens when my pc case is in weird positions is what (like moved to the right a little bit or moved to the left a little bit or even tilted to the right i tried tilting it to see if the noise would be there with the tempered glass on and yep it was there. I tried taking all the cables off my pc and take it for a cleanup and now the noise is completely gone with tempered glass and side panel on or off. Is it my PSU fan? I mean would a bad fan noise go away just if i put my finger on the steel on the back of the psu or on the panels of the case? i don't get what's going on and i'm scared because warranty says it's not a PSU issue and they refused me to go get it checked because "There is no reason to" My PSU and case are coolermaster MWE v2 bronze 650W and gigabyte C200 tempered glass case. Update : I asked a computer shop near me and he said that the PSU fan won't calm down if i touch the case with my finger. VIBRATION does that but not a bad fan. So is it vibration ? i mean now that i took the cables off and reconnected them and the noise is completely gone i don't know what it is anymore..

Hello, I've bought a Radeon RX 6900XT SE graphics card recently and it seems it's working fine. But after loading Trixx software, I've noticed a few things, when I run "Fan health check", I hear the fans turning on, but the Trixx reports a failed fan check test. Even the nitro glow settings have no effect (it's currently running on random/factory settings RGB). I've reconnected the card a few times and still got the same result. Other than those issues, the card works fine. Anyone had a similar problem; how to fix this? I also have a question about the ARGB 3pin (5v) cable to connect the card to a motherboard (Aorus Elite X570). Which cable would you recommend? Thank you
