Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm looking for a fan controller like the Sentry Mix 2, with a slider (cause I like that ), and preferably led lights . Why do I not take this one? I do need the 12V+ per fan, but the 2+ fans (I'm gonna have 4 fans), will look ridiculous . So any alternatives you like? Thanks in advance!

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm searching for an fan controller, which... Can handle 12V fans. Has a temperature support. Preferably a red interface (red themed build FTW). I'm gonna have the Air 540, which has vertical 5.25" bays. So I prefer internal, external fan controllers etc. Any answer is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

So, I am in bit of a conundrum, I am trying to lay out an upgrade, I want to do SLI so I want to fill all the fans in the new case but keep them quiet when I am not pushing my PC hard. The case I want to use supports Seven fans, but the fan controller I want to use (NZXT Sentry Mix 2) only has six channels, one channel pushes 30 watts, could I route two SP140S to one channel? If not, are there any other solutions, it seems kind of stupid to have a fan controller on all fans but one.... Thanks for the help! (I could also route two SP120s, but I don't think that matters?)

I'm planning on using the Corsair 900D case and a combination of their AF/SP fans in addition to a few radiators. As far as fan control, I see some who praise the Corsair Link and others who praise a physical fan controller component stuck in a drive bay (with knobs and LED display). Is there any advantage to one over the other (Corsair Link controlled by software versus a physical component controlled by knobs). How many fans can either setup control? If you are using one or the other, can you please link me to what you are using and maybe share your experience with it. Thanks.

So I need a new fan controller(current lamptron fc5v3 is breaking 1 fan header at a time) and I seem to be leaning to a automatic fan controller like a t blancer. Then I came across the Heatmaster II. http://www.performance-pcs.com/accessories-misc/alphacool-heatmaster-ii.html#Specifications Anyone used it before or have a recommendation for a different fan controller? I don't know which category to put this topic is and Peripheral seems to be the most fitting(to me)

Hey! I am looking to invest in a fan controller to put in either one or two 5.25 in drive bays. I have done some looking around and saw a NZXT Sentry LX High Performance Fan Controller but I did not know whether it was a good one or if there are better ones. If anyone has any information about these or anything please let me know! I would prefer there to be a screen, maybe touch screen aspect to it but I am open to all ideas! Thanks! - Nick

Hello, I am looking for a fan controller, because with my mainboard (MSI Z97 Gaming 5) I only can set my fans from 50%-100%. Mine are set to 50% and are very loud. So I am looking for a fan controller, where I have a big range, to set my fan speed very low. If you know a good fan controller or have a better idea for a quieter PC, pls tell me. Thanks

So I have a total of 6 fans in my rig. Five are Coolermaster Jet Flo fans that are mounted on two different radiators. One rad is a 240mm and the other 360mm. As of now the radiators only cool the cpu but I will eventually hook them up to dual 980s.The other one fan is a stock 140mm for the exhaust. I don't know what way to wire them is best. I have a few options.. 1.) Attach the five radiator fans to a 5 way fan splitter then attach that to the cpu fan header. Attach the 140mm to a seperate header on the mobo. 2.) The Asus X99 deluxe came with a fan controller but I don't have much room for it but I could plug all the fans into that and might have to have it dangle on the otherside of the motherboard. 3.) Plug all the fans into seperate fan headers on the mobo. If you were me what would you do?

Some while ago, the fan controller on my case stopped working. the lights wouldnt work and either would the fans. I messaged NZXT and they sent me a new one and i put it in and it still doesnt work. I do notice at startup, the fans try to spins and get about one revolution before completely stopping.

Hey Guys, I'm having difficulty controlling the 8 pwm fans (7 on rads) in my PC. The system is all on a custom water loop (CPU + 2 GPUs). I'd like the fan speeds to be controlled by water temps (I already have an inline sensor). I have an ASUS Z97 Ranger, its additional sensor input won't work for fan controlling, due to (known) BIOS issues (I've wrestled with Fan Xpert for hours). I've also tried SpeedFan, it doesn't seem to control the fans or even detect the additional sensor. I'm looking at a fan controller which I can configure a PWM (preferable more than 1 output) fan curve according to a sensor input. I have this system in a H440 so a 5.25" bay controller is kind of out of the questions, but its a modded case already. I would be willing to mod it in if there is no other option available. So the requirements for the fan controller: PWM fan control Sensor inputs (at least one) Automatic adjustment based on a fan curve (according to the sensor input) I thought these were pretty standard requirements, but it seems products which satisfy this are few and far between... So far I've found this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/13696/bus-271/Aquacomputer_Aquaero_5_LT_USB_Fan_Controller_Liquid_System_Controller_53095.html It only has one 1 PWM fan output, I can easily split the PWM, but more control than this would be desirable... I was thinking about the T-Balancer bigNG, but I've heard bad things about the software? Also from what I've read about it, it has PWM control, but from photos it looks like it only supports 3pin fans? Also I've already argued with people about the merits of controlling fans based on the water temperature, I'm pretty keen on doing it.

I recently picked up two 30 cm Darkside red LED strips. Promotional videos mention they are dimmable and can be connected to a fan controller. What is the best way to control case lighting? I am planning on using a NZXT Sentry Mix-2 Fan controller. However, the fan controller does not let fans turn completely off. My 5.25 bay capacity is full, but is there a good way to control case lighting from a PCI slot that include off/on, dimming features, and does not have a plethora of colorful wires? The led strips use 2 pin connectors, but included are 30 cm 2 pin to 3 pin adapter/extension. I went ahead and the questions in bold for people who don't want to read all that. Thanks, RedPanda

When used with a fan controller, do LED fans dim when the fan speed is brought down? Specifically the NZXT Sentry Mix-2 and Corsair AF series LED fans.

I'm currently interested in how (a) fan(s), and (a) fan(s) controller affects the properties of a computer, also if it's necessary for a computer to include (a) fan(s), and (a) fan(s) controller?

Title says it all, I'm looking to buy a fan controller for my PC as I have had it with the noise and not being able to control my fans to my liking. The cheapest one will do but would like something that can control 4 - 6 fans, doesn't have to have a LCD display, and most IMPORTANTLY can control 3 pin Voltage controlled fans AND 4 pin PWM controlled fans Thanks for your help

Hey Guys, First of all if this is in the wrong forum please move it. Now, i have just built a system with an H105 in a Bitfenix Prodigy, the fans on this thing (the corsair) are worse even in comparison with a ceiling fan. For now I want to drop their RPM below 1k, atm they run around 1500ish. But as it seems i cant do it from the Sysfan 1 header. I tried FanSpeed and all that staff but nothing works. So I though of buying a digital fan controller like the NZXT Grid+ (which i cant find in Europe), do you have any alternatives to propose? Hopefully I will upgrade to some nice Noctua NFF12s in the coming weeks but till then I think my ear drums will explode. Hiya guys, I'm pretty obsessed with having a proper silent PC, Its already really quiet but its still too much haha so could anyone recommend a fan controller which allows you to completely switch off the fans as I already run my fans at minimum RPM's but i'd like to be able to switch them completely off when I'm not doing anything demanding. So far I've come across this http://www.amazon.co.uk/NesteQ-FanMax-Control-Unit-Black/dp/B002B7LD60 but it's out of stock everywhere (I think its discontinued). It needs to support at least 6 fans and I don't really want to spend more than £30 ($50 US). Also I'm in england. cheers guys.

Hi, forum! I've been hard at work trying to track down a fan controller which can power my fans all the way down. I just ordered 6 Spectre Pros for my Define R4, and i would like to be able to shut down at least 3-4 of them while browsing the web and doing lighter tasks. I think a 3 or 4 channel fan controller is enough as long as it has enough wattage for me to be able to use Y splitters. Alternatively i may just use the case' build in fan controller for the remaining on-fans. I've been looking at the Bitfenix Hydra Pro, and it is very promising, but it seems it won't go all the way down, bummer. Is there any way to easily make som kind of switch, which will power down 3-4 fans? Then I might just get the Hydra Pro and pair it with that. By the way, the Hydra Pro is a big plus, since it'll be able to power the LEDs in my Spectre Pros on/off. But the on/off functionality is the priority. Thank you for the help in advance Edit: After hours of search, i've finally found a fan controller, which will do the job; Lamptron FC-9. Seems to be out of stock everywhere, but i'm going to give it a shot (Y)

Hello - first post for me here. Please excuse any etiquette I may have broken. I have four fans in my home server/pc. Of the case fans, two were supplied with the Fractual Design R4 and one is a beQuiet Silent Wings 2. The CPU has a beQuiet Dark Rock 2 cooler with it's own fan. Only the CPU cooler has a four pin connector. I am therefore unable to control the others through software like pwmconfig and lm-sensors as they lack that all important extra connection. If I connect the fans to the beQuiet Dark Power Pro PSU, the fans run quieter than running through the Asus P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard, even with 'Silent' enabled in the BIOS settings. The problem I am trying to resolve is making the rig silent. The R4 case was supposed to help, as were the silent fans (including those supplied with the case), but there is still a hum and whirl heard from the machine. I suspect the fans are running too fast but I have no means to control them. So, how best to resolve and obtain that silent running machine I wanted? I could take out the fans and replace with the new Silent Wings 2 PWM version or I could get a controller of some kind that only switches on the fans when needed - such as running x-plane, ripping a CD or DVD or using Handbrake to re-encode a ripped DVD to a file I can use on my tablet. They presently do very little work. The output of 'sensors' shows the CPU temps around 30 celsius and internal temperatures not much different. Ideally something I can control through the Linux desktop would be ideal, however if not something which could be programmed to do what I need. Would a radiator be a better option to replace the front two fans but then, how do I manage the last? Would fewer fans help? I am struggling to find a solution myself but all help appreciated.

I am looking for a 5.25 drive bay fan controller that utilities the temperatures reported from the motherboard: CPU temp, GPU temp, HDD temps etc. I guess this would probably be done through a usb header on the motherboard but I just can't find one that uses the motherboard temperatures. A drive bay controller would be preferable but I wouldn't mind if it is an internal controller that I can use through software. I just would like a fan controller that I can set to automatic and use the temperatures off my motherboard because my motherboard doesn't have enough headers, however I would still like to use the sensors such as the CPU digital thermal sensor. I already know about the corsair link kit, but I was wondering if there are any others out there.

Hey, currently running a water cooling rig with a single 360mm rad to cool cpu. This is in the NZXT Phantom 630 which has a fan controller built in on the back of the mobo tray. I am going to upgrade to the HAF Stacker with 2 360mm rad's and cooling my gpu as well. So the question is: What fan controller should I use to control all 6 radiator fans? Also should i use one to control all case fans or should i use mobo connectors for them? Please remember I'm from UK and we usually have less options so if you could check that UK outlets sell the parts you choose thatd be fantastic. Many thanks, Ben.

Hi. The time has come for me to build a new computer, and naturally you guys gets to help with the few mistakes I've made First problem is related to my stupidity - I bought alot of fans (SP120) with colored rings to make it pretty and stuff, all works, but I figured, with that many fans I woulden't have enough 4pin connectors on the MB to just plug them in - so I bought (and here it comes) a molex to 6x 3pin to connect them all. Now the powersupply has no way to limit the power, so these wonderful fans sounds like a windtunnel, constantly running at 3500 rpm. Do I just get a fan controller and plug them all into that? Any recommendations if so? Would be nice if it could run 5+ fans. Second problem is more of a question, but related to the first question in the amount of fans I need the eventual controller to run. I have an H100i to cool my cpu, when I fitted it, it felt like it wasn't super tight, but the bolts coulden't go any further, I think it might be the backplate sitting a little loose? Anyway, the H100i should supposedly control the speed of the fans on the radiator, but the 2 top mounting cables it has don't fit anywhere, and I can't connect them to the actual fans. If this works out somehow I can cut a few fans from my fan controller and be ok with a fan controller handling 4-5 fans. Last issue (for now!) The entire system worked fine when I booted it up, but I simply cannot get to install windows from USB (I don't have a cd drive). It was never a problem for me before. I tested the USB key in 4 other systems, it works fine, but bios doesn't pick it up at all. Meanwhile keyboards, mice and even other random usb stuff it picks up fine (link from h100i). Thank you for any input you have to help out a noobie MB is MSI Z87-G45 Gaming
