Hello LTT, I just want to ask for suggestions on what computer case to buy for my first build. Specs I'm looking for: -Mid-tower case preferred but full tower is just fine -Has built-in fan controller -rear i/o lighting -(i know this is already usual but) dust filters I'm eyeing for NZXT Phantom 530. But if you guys can suggest other cases with rear io lighting, that would be grreat. I'm also thinking of Corsair Graphite 760T but it has no rear io lighting. Same is true with Phanteks Enthoo Luxe. Another thing with the latter is it's not sold locally (Philippines). Budget-wise, it would be around the price of the 2 cases I just mentioned above. Or lower. NOTE: I've watched the rear i/o lighting done by Linus but it would be bothersome to order those and ship it here.

I'm going to be upgrade my rig soon and was wondering if Cougar Vortex fans will work with the NZXT Sentry Mix 2? The compatibility check on NZXT's website doesn't show if it will or not and I would rather not buy it and have it not work.

So, I have been trying to decide if I need fan cable extensions in a 750D to reach an NZXT sentry 3? It looks like the Sentry 3 has some type of cable extension on it but I don't know.... The setup is going to be all 140mm cougar vortexes, one in the rear exhaust, two in the top and two in the front.

Hi, so I bought an Asus X99-A motherboard, and the manual talks about a fan extension card sold separately. I'm trying to find a place to by one other than sketchy ebay vendors, but so far I've come up empty. Does anyone know where one might be available from a non super-sketchy place?

Hey Guys! So i was wondering. What happens if i buy a fan controller and plug my CPU fan into the fan controller and leave the CPU fan header on my motherboard empty? Will i be able to control my CPU fan speed? But will my PC be ok with no fan connected to my motherboards CPU FAN header?? Cheers Guys!

Hi, my 760T has a fan speed selector on the case but I can't work out how to set it up. I currently have 4 case fans and 2 fans on my H100i all conected to the motherboard as described in manual. Now I can't work out how to connect the fan controller to all my fans..here are the instructions: > Connect the SATA power connector to the PSU SATA power cable. > Connect the 3 or 4-Pin fan connecter to the case fan header. > Push the fan speed selector button on your case to toggle fan speed between “Quiet” and “Performance” mode. Note: The case fans come pre-connected to the fan speed selector. What does it mean by connect 3/4 pin fan connector to case fan header? I have 6 fans?? Also how come the fans come pre connected to the fan speed selector. I have actually changed the fans but the old ones were never connected to the fan speed selector..? Any ideas?

I got myself an NZXT Grid+ a couple of days back, on the basis that it's probably the best fan controller out there, and the included fan hub on my Phanteks Enthoo Pro just wasn't cutting it for me. I installed the thing, it worked fine for a day, and then when I'd put it to Hibernate and started it up again, it decided it wasn't going to work anymore, and just run all fans at either 0% or 100% all the time. Yay, I paid €32.- for an on/off switch! So yeah, I RMAd it. I was just wondering though, has anybody else here had this problem? I couldn't quite work out from the NZXT support thread on this issue whether it just affected a single batch or every Grid+ ever produced, but if other people here also had this problem, I suppose we could all go and sit in an empty corner together and cry quietly. Or loudly for that matter, it's not as though we'll be heard over the sound of full speed fans anyway... PS: I will have it mentioned that my luck was about to run out anyway; I've been buying computer components for just over a decade now, and this is the first time I've ever had to RMA anything.

Hey i am planning to build my very first gaming pc soon. i have already purchased the case which came with 3 molex case fans. Can anyone help me find a way to control these fans as i don't want them to be running at ful speed while idling. I've been doing some research and can't find any clear answers. can i buy a fan controller somwhere which accepts molex case fans. Or something which will do the job. Thanks

Greetings I basically want to know if the fan controller in the R5 works, by using a resistor or by applying different voltages (5v, 7v, 12v). Thank You.

Hi! I bought a used PC and it's working great. (Except for the fact that the seller didn't include a harddrive cage.) It came with a fan controller that is installed at the back, where you'd find your video outputs. It's just a knob that you turn left and right to adjust the speed of all fans connected. It has a connector for power and a connector for the fans. The seller has wired 4 of my 5 case fans together. As I was unable to get the fan controller to work, I just hooked all of these fans directly to the motherboard. That means that one of my fans don't spin at all, as it's not connected. I'm pretty sure it's my only intake fan, but it's fine, as I operate the PC with the side panel off for now. Now, how would I connect all 5 fans together and how would I make use of the fan controller? I can't include any new photos, as I'm not at home. I do have some older photos, but they might not be sufficient. The first photo was a comparison shot between my new and old PCs. The last two pictures are from Blocket.se, the site where I purchased the PC. It didn't come with a PSU or GPU, but I already had those parts.

I'm putting together a gaming PC with the following specs. I need some help deciding between the Corsair Link or Asus AI Fan Control on Rampage V. Does it actually make sense to invest into the Corsair link or will the onboard fan control work just fine? Intel Core i7-5820K Haswell-E 6-Core 3.3GHz ASUS RAMPAGE V EXTREME, Extended ATX x99 Corsair RM 850 Power Supply Corsair Vengeance LPX - DDR4 - 64 GB : 8 x 8 GB - DIMM 288-pin - 2133 MHz Sapphire Radeon R9 270X 4GB GDDR5 DVI-I/DVI-D/HDMI/DP Dual-X NZXT Technologies Computer Case, Matte Black CA-H630F-M1 3.5" 6TB WD HDD Bluray Optical Drive. For Cooling I'm using Corsair Hydro Series H100i GTX High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (2x 120mm Fans) Corsair Air Series AF120 LED Quiet Edition High Airflow Fan Twin Pack The NZXT H630 case comes with One 200mm front intake fan and one 140mm rear exhaust. This is going to be my first time building a whole PC so any tips on fan control and cooling optimization is appreciated. Thanks Vishy

Hi there, I recently (15 minutes ago) installed new fans in my NZXT H440 case. These were; 2 Noctua F-A14 FLX at the front of the case and 1 nf-p14s-1200 at the back replacing the stock NZXT fans that come in the case. However, I have noticed they are a bit noisy, I think it is due to them being connected to the fan hub, meaning they're running at full speed. So my question is this, are there any fan controllers you would recommend allowing me to control the fan speed? I have looked at the NZXT Grid+ and it seems decent enough. Any suggestions? Thanks

Hey all, I just got my Corsair 780t case (black/red) and I love it. I'm looking to fill the 2 front bays with some type of fan controler or display, mostly for asthetics, but added functionality is great too. Originally I was going for the asus front base, but upon reading, it is not suitable. Apparently there are numerous issues with it and my mobo (maximus vi hero). As well, the fan controllers just adjust the fan controlers on the mobo itselt. As I have 6 case fans, this doesnt help me at all as I am currently using the 3 on the mobo, plus 3 on the case stock fan controller. I have been looking around to no avail. the NZXT sentry 3 looks like a great product, however I just can't break my red/black build theme for it (blue? I dont think so...) So any other options? Priorities: 1. Look Cool 2. Fan controler 3. I/O 4. whatever. cheers

Hi everyone, I'm looking for a fan controller that supports fans being completely off. I'd like it to be able to automatically control fans but also support manual mode. Don't care if it's touch or knobs/sliders. Here's the back story: My experience with fan control is with the Define R4 fan controller and with the software controller on my ASUS motherboard. The Define R4 controls aren't granular enough and don't support fans turning off. The ASUS software does support fans turning off but I don't like the software at all. Any suggestions? EDIT: I only need to control 4 fans but i'd like to have support for more. I need at least 3 seperate controls/sliders.

I stupidly put my faith in Corsair Link for the past few years, and while it worked fine on my old build, it's giving me nothing but headaches now (loading profiles wrong, duplicating items, etc...) It sucks, but that's apparently not news. I'm looking for the following: -Control a minimum of 8 fans (4x NF-A14 iPPC 2000's, and 4x Rad Fans (which will soon be something new, maybe Vardars?) -Be able to create custom curves on all 8 fans according to CPU temp -Software, or a hardware solution that is RELIABLE. Although I'd prefer hardware, something I know I will set once and be able to forget about. I do have two 5.25 bays available. -I'd really prefer to not use my motherboard's fan headers (for one, there isn't enough), and I'd like to keep as many cables out of my main area as possible. Any suggestions you have would be hugely appreciated.

Hi, I am just posting everything here just to check if there's any compatibility issue or any components that I've missed. I've been thinking about building a custom water cooling loop for over a week now, and finally, I've put up the components that I will use for my system. Please help me if there's any issues here or if there's any optimization needed, thanks. Build: Intel i7-5930K (EK-TIM Indigo Xtreme - Intel 2011-3) Asus Rampage V Extreme EVGA GTX 980 SuperClocked ACX 2.0 SLI (Arctic Silver 5) Corsair 900D (9x LEPA LP-BOL12P-R 120mm fan --intake, 4x fans ---exhaust for rad, 1x BitFenix BFF-SPRO-P14025KK-RP 140mm fan --rear exhaust) [All of these are PWM, but I have no idea how to configure them, and it also seems that the mobo lacks 4-pin fan headers for all these fans, so... how?] Water Cooling Build: CPU+MOBO MONOBLOCK: EK-FB ASUS R5E Monoblock - Nickel .....(1pc) GPU FULLCOVER BLOCK: EK-FC980 GTX - Nickel ................................(2pcs) TUBINGS: TUBE PrimoChill PrimoFlex™ Advanced LRT™ 12,7 / 9,5mm - Crystal Clear (PFLEXA-12) .........(1pc) RADIATOR: EK-CoolStream RAD XTX (480) .................(1pc) PUMP: EK-XTOP D5 PWM - Plexi (incl. pump) ......(1pc) RESERVOIR: EK-RES X3 250 ...............................................(1pc) TERMINAL (SLI): EK-FC Terminal TRIPLE Parallel - Plexi & EK-FC Terminal BLANK Parallel .................(1pc. each) COOLANT: EK-Ekoolant EVO Blood RED (premix 1L) (3pcs) FITTINGS: EK-ACF Fitting 10/13mm - Black .................(12pcs) Add. Info: I will be putting the rad at the top of the case in a push-configuration with 4x LEPA LP-BOL12P-R 120mm Fan. The terminals will be used to link the two SLI graphics cards (will be overclocked, not sure what's the optimized OC config yet) to the water cooling system. The cards will use the 1st and 3rd port in the motherboard. The Asus R5E monoblock will be used for overclocking (not sure what's the optimized OC config. yet for this build). Not sure about the fittings yet. The premixed coolant is reasonable, and won't be using plain distilled water. The pump and res will go like this: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And finally, where can I buy these, and how much (total)? Simply converting € to $ is not accurate enough. Also, thanks ..an installation guide would be helpful too, but I think I'm asking for too much...

So after buying the H440 and quickly realizing that the fan hub is kinda terrible and makes things too loud, I need something else! PS: some loopy crap is happening with my on-board fan headers (e.g. no fan is displayed when connected into the port, but the fan still runs...no bueno, also slightly concerning) I like the simplicity of the Grid+ but it lacks the ability to control individual fans/fan groups, I can attempt to deal with crap software but only to a certain extent, and I'm not willing to go at something for hours at a time. I'd really appreciate some suggestions under the $35 (USD) point that might accommodate this. Thanks for the help!

Hi guys I have been searching for a while now and can't seem to find what i'm looking for, so now i went to you guys to see if any off you have any ideas. I'm looking for a fan controller (which is not a 5-25' bay controller) which can be controlled over the USB interface via software, like Linus T-balancer. lot of other discussions they talk about software and just using the motherboard, but 1. I'm going for a cleaner look 2. i dont have enough (controllable) ports 3. i would like something with intelligent software where some of the fans ex. turn of when it's cold and then ramp up when the PC ramps up. so to cut it down a bit: an intelligent "hideable" fan controller which runs over USB interface Thanks in advance -Alex

Hello All, First off, apologies, I'm sure this is a topic that's been brought up before, but I couldn't seem to find a search function on the forum, unless I'm totally blind. If that's the case, feel free to delete this thread. Pointing me in the direction of a previous discussion would also be greatly appreciated =) Basically, I'm looking for a reliable way to control the RPM of all my case fans, much like I can do with my four radiator fans on my H100i over Corsair Link. I currently have a Rampage III Formula motherboard, which (between BIOS options and the only compatible version of FanXpert, v1) doesn't allow for much control over the fans other than setting the temperature thresholds that will kick the fans into either "max" or "low" speeds, and that's it, no control in between. -> I plan to upgrade to the MSI X99S SLI board, which I'm unsure about as far as BIOS fan control options go. (I'm not sure if BIOS fan control options and setting target RPMs there is even a thing, please correct me if I'm wrong) -I'd prefer to avoid a 5.25" bay fan controller, as I currently have my drives occupying the 5.25 bay space in my case (R5) -I'm not opposed to internal units like the Corsair Link Cooling Kit (sits in a 3.5" bay), but I haven't heard great things about that unit. Are there any like it? -I plan to have 4 PWM case fans that I'd like to control, radiator fans will still be handled by corsair link. -Is there any (reliable) software that can control the PWM fans plugged into my motherboard? Thanks in advance for the help, it's much appreciated! -Alex R.

Apologies for the noob questions. Fairly new to PC building and working with some expensive components so want to get as much advice as as possible. I'm about to mount a Corsair h110 CPU cooler inside an Phanteks Enthoo Primo rev2. I'm planning on putting it in the top, exhausting air out the top of the case, perhaps in push/pull as the rest of the case is dust filtered so should not be too much of a pain to clean. I'm wondering if anyone has views as to what the ideal arrangement of fans might be for this situation? Motherboard is an ASUS X99 Deluxe, CPU is a 6960X, EVGA GTX 980 reference SC with backplate, RAM is GSkill 4x8GB sticks, 32GB 2800 speed. Computer will be used as a workstation for After Effects and Premiere, and possibly some gaming. So will be oveclocking it a bit but not going for anything extreme. Want it to be stable and run on the cool/quiet side. Realize the case is a bit overkill, as are some of the componenets, but want room for expansion of possible custom loop and large internal raid array in the future. Also wanted to get the higest end CPU just to grasp that level for once, and now seems like a good time to do it compared to when the 3960X was the big boy. Sorry for digressing...I also need all of the HDD cages left inside as they will likely all be filled, as will the optical bays eventually. I have the five 140mm fans included with the case, 2 x 140 fans from the h110, and also 2-3 more 120mm fans I could throw in. I'm thinking of this: h110 with 2 x 140mm fans exhausting out of the top (or with push/pull) 2 x 140mm intake fans in front. 1 x 140mm exhaust out of the top-back of the case. 2 x 140mm intake from bottom of the case. And could then the extra 120mm fans I have to the top or side panel on rear if needed? As exhaust? I'm also a bit confused about Phantek's fan controller. Do I need to plug its molex power into my PSU? It seems to allow for PWM fan control for all fan from BIOS. Which would be ideal. But do I plug in the h110 fans into it as well, and then just make one connection from that to the CPU fan header? Goal being that all fans spin up/down as needed depending on CPU temps? The mobo BIOS allows for PWM control of four fans too so I'm thinking safer to have the 2-4 fans on the h110 plugged directly into the CPU fan header, then all of the case fans going to the Primo's controller before chaining that to one of the other fan hubs on the mobo? Any ideas? Particularly concerned about plugging so many fans into the case's fan controller as heard a few reports of the them catching on fire...=[ Picture of the case is here. Thank you for your time!

I'm aircooling my PC right now and am slowly upgrading it to water cooling. So, I picked up some of the fans I'm interested in using. The only issue is the Corsair 780t built in fan controller runs them way too loud on the lowest fan setting. I believe the controller sends 5v on the low setting. So, is there a splitter or fan controller that is safe to run these on without blowing out a header. I'll probably have about 15 of these in the case when I'm done, with 12 on radiators. I'll probably need to pickup two controllers or splitters. I did notice on Noctua's website they suggest against using most common fan controllers with these. Anyone know how to safely manage the speed of these fans? They're just unbearably loud right now.

Hey guys! Aaaanndd ladies I just received my Fractal Design Arc Mini R2 today. I love this case, but there's not enough connections on the built in fan controller for all my fans. I would like to add a triple rad to the top of the case and a double to the front. This case only has enough connections for three fans, however. So my question is: How can I connect a fan splitter (like the one linked below) to work with the built-in fan controller on my case? http://amzn.com/B00OD7MO6E I know there are others out there, so just use that one as an example. I'm trying to avoid the cables that split into more cables for easier cable management. That's why i really like the one linked there. I can use some double sided tape to mount that and plug all the fans in a single location. Any tips or hints are welcome. I'm a fairly experienced techie, so I'm not afraid to mod the fan controllers cable if I need to. Thanks! Have a great day!!!
