I am trying to bring water temps into Fan Control to help get my aio pump noise under control. The pump isn’t loud, in fact with even the quietest movies or music in the background I can’t hear at all, but working in silence, it is all I can hear or think about. I fiddled around with Fan Control and found that the pump is dead silent at 50% and acceptable to 70-75%, but water temps went from 7 above ambient to 11-12 above. I don’t like having the higher water temp, but if that is ok then problem solved. I would like to set up a curve based off of water temp for the pump and keep the cpu temp for the rad fans. Only problem is I have a Thermaltake Toughliquid Ultra and the water temp is only displayed on the pump display and reported to ThermalTake’s control software. I need help getting the sensor values to hwinfo or directly into Fan Control.

THE PROBLEM: I just built an ITX PC. I needed to add fans to help with GPU heat, so I ordered a 3D-printed attachment for my PC to add more fans. I attached 2 120mm Phanteks fans to the case addition and chained them together so that they used only 1 MOBO fan header. Once installed, I turned on my PC and launched Fan Control to set the new fans to rev up when the GPU got too hot. To check the temperature while gaming, I launched God of War to see how it did. Roughly 1 minute into the game, my PC flipped the breaker. Nothing else was drawing a tremendous amount of power on that breaker. What do I need to do? My PSU is 750-watt. Attached will be a picture of the fans. Hello everyone, So, I have been trying to control my fan speeds through software, and I have a problem. When I set the speed of the fans to zero (for example, when I want to watch a movie and not a lot of heat will be generated) the fans won't completely turn off. This happens to all of my fans, with the exeption of my CPU fan and my intergrated GPU fans. I went into my BIOS and set all of the fan curves to zero at all degrees (in smart fan mode and PWM mode), I installed some fan speed software (first I tried Speedfan, then Argus and finally FanControl) but I still can not get my fans to turn off. A small note to add, some of the fans are PWM (4 pins) and some are normal (3 pins). When I first built my PC, most of my fans could turn off, but one day I could no longer get them to turn off. So, is there a solution to this problem? Or will I have to get a separate fan controller with physical potentiometers? In case they are needed, my PC specs are: AMD Ryzen5 3600 GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 Kingston FURY 16GB 3200Mhz MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II BeQuiet! System Power 9 700W (I think that is the correct wattage) BeQuiet! Dark Base 500DX Some of the fans are the stock ones that came with the case (at 140mm), and some are aftermarket BeQuiet! 140mm 4-pin PWM fans Thank you all in advance!

I am frustrated. Since I downloaded an update for windows and FanControl, I am not able to control the speed of my fans anymore (with FanControl). I tried everything from disabling Q-fan in the bios to switching between PWM and DC. Nothing seems have helped. Always getting an error like: "fan never stopped" or rarely "sensor not found". I can't use the Q-fan bc it just does what it wants, and every five minutes my pc starts screaming like hell. Did anyone ever have similar issues or knows what the problem could be?

So I was talking to a Corsair representative about the Corsair Command, which I really don't think he knew his product very. I've decided to come and ask it here instead and hopefully someone understands what I am trying to ask. In iCUE, it reads my CPU and GPU temp. What I want is to be able to control the bottom fan speed to adjust accordiing to what my GPU temp is. And to be able to adjust other fans individually as well. So my main body question is, would a Commander, either Pro or Core XT, allow for me to do that, adjust different fans in my case based on say the GPU, so bottom fan needs to spin up more, or so front fans need to spin up more based on whole case temp. I would use SpeedFan but that is no longer supported by the Devs for X4** series chipset and I thought that iCUE would be the next best option out there. Thank you in advance!

I have a custom built pc and want to control the case fans speed to improve air but my issue is the motherboard is a lenovo thinkcenter m82 and the fan control is locked, even through it has 3, 4 pin fan headers. I ev been looking in to fan hubs with software control but they all need pwm control. Has anyone else had the same issue and how did u fix it/get around it. Please help

Hello everybody, I do have an annoying Fan control issue. I am using the MSI B350M Mortar Artic with the newest BIOS. When selecting PWM mode for the case fans in BIOS, it shows RPM up to 7.000, which is Un logical with standard PWM Fans (Fractal Design Dynamic X2 GP-12 120 mm used here) When ignoring that optical issue and setting a low fan curve to silent my build it saves and boots. After boot though, the fans spin at a high RPM, which is also reported in the MSI Command Center software. It shows a low curve, but reports 1200 rpm (see screenshots). I "solved" the problem by turning to DC mode in BIOS, and after each boot I change to "smart mode" in command center and load a custom fan curve, which works perfectly. But I need to do this with every boot, because the BIOS overrides the setting in Command center again. Any ideas on how to solve? Thanks for reading, hope somebody has an idea. Best Julian

So not entirely sure this is the right thread to post this question. With the recent Nvidia updates Argus Monitor requires that administrator rights be applied to be able to control the fan speed on my RTX 3080 FE. My issue is that I want Argus to start automatically with administrator rights without have to select yes in the dialog box. Is there a way to accomplish this?

Hello Picked up a cheap GPU for my gf to play Dishonored, the Sims, GTA; found an r9 270, a reference model. It is one from an hp machine (Hp pn 741521 - 001) that does the job just fine for her. Only problem is that the fans seemingly don't work correctly, MSI afterburner will tell me that they are running at whatever percent speed, but they will only actually spin up at 80 fan speed and will run as normal between 80 and a hundred percent speed. Further still, in the AMD software, the usual fan tuning options are missing. Personally, I own an r9 270x, which when swapped in, the fan tuning options are present. I have heard that in some cases these OEM cards can have limitations on fan control like this, was just wondering if there's any way around this. Having to run at nothing or 80% isn't that big deal, I only spent £15 on the card, it's just a little annoying. Any help appreciated.

Hi all! I am in the process of building my first pc, and I've found some fans for the build - Enermax T.B. RGB (6 fans) - https://www.enermax.com/en/products/t.b.-rgb-sg--12cm-. These have a 6-pin cable, and come with a fan controller. Problem is, this fan controller only has an RGB-sync cable to the MOBO. Is it possible to get a fan controller, with 6-pin connectors for the fans, and that has an RGB sync cable, and a fan speed sync cable to the MOBO? I hope that my question makes sense... The motherboard i have - https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/B550M-DS3H-rev-1x/sp#sp

So I've been using argus monitor but it failed on me today, causing my game to crash and saying I need to buy a license. Any free softwares out there that are similar and aren't dead like speedfan?

Hi. I was having some issues with my raid not booting despite the raid controller saying it was bootable so I checked my BIOS and it wasn't selecting my raid setup as my default disk and so i fixed that. Whilst I was in the BIOS I changed some other settings which were to make the PC bootable with a LAN cable, enabling Q-fan Control for My PC case fan and setting the BIOS wait timer to need a user prompt. Since doing that my PC boots, posts, shows the motherboard splash screen and then black screens. I have tried going into the BIOS to undo these changes but the PC ignores me pressing commands on the boot screen. How can I fix this? I have a custom CPU overclock enabled which was setup by PC Specialist and I don't know how to set it up again and I don't wan to lose it if possible My motherboard is ASUS P6X58D-E and I have a copy of the manual here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1hI6ypHAi4KwcRKJr6TFwJdQGY5GJAEJO/view?usp=sharing But i can't seem to find anything there asking for a User Prompt? EDIT: The PC says 'entering setup' on a american mega trends splash screen does not enter setup when the DEL command is pressed. Thank you in advance, P.S. I hope I put this in the right place If not yet me know and i'll move it.

I recently bought a three pack of the Corsair AF120 and they're stuck at full speed on my Asus motherboard. I've tried using AI Suite 3, the BIOS fan control and Speedfan but nothing lets me change them. I noticed on my friends Asus BIOS under the advanced fan settings there was an option to choose between PWM or DC control but I don't seem to have an option for that. How do I enable DC control? Fan Xpert cant even detect them. Thanks.

I just bought a new ASUS VivoBook M409DA , with a Ryzen 3 3250u APU. The laptop has a crappy cooling design, resembling the Macbook air 2020, the fan just blows over the tiny heatsink over the CPU, with no heatpipes. It run HOT all the time, and for some reason the fans just wont ramp up when needed. So i need to manually speed 'em up. The trouble is. . . .. .I can't. HWiNFO Speedfan Argus Afterburner Open hardware monitor Notebook FanControl Tried all of them, ALL OF THEM FAILED. some of them couldn't even detect a fan controller(they didn't show the option to change speed). No BIOS or Driver options exist. the same for the asus control panel What do i do? I really need to change the speed. I will eventually run Linux, so am rooting for the lm-sensors/fancontrol there.....but i think it might fail too... WHAT DO I DO??

Hey guys, I got myself a Kolink Observatory case with 4 included fans. My problem is that they are powered through a included fan hub powered through molex, which makes the fans run at 100% permanently. Would have just bought another hub, but these fans use a 6 pin connector and it seems pretty much impossible to find a hub for them that also allows speed control. Does anybody have a idea to work around my problem?

I upgraded from an Enthoo EVOLV ITX to a meshify C and replaced my fans. New build is with a Meshify C, ML140 RGB on radiator intake, ML120 RGB rear exhaust and Phanteks Ph-f140mp top exhaust. When I'm web browsing or watching a show the fans can cycle repeatedly between two speeds. Either speed is fine but the ramping is annoying. Can I use some software to monitor and control fan speed? Currently I used the Asus fan tune in the BIOS settings.

Hello and good day to you all!, First of all i would like to apologise for any future gramatical errors! Now to my issue, im new to pc building and build my own system using: Asus Tuf B450-Pro ( AM4 socket ) motherboard AMD Ryzen 7 3700x cpu 6x nf-a12x25 PWM 12v noctua fans ( 3x top mounted for exaust, 3x front mounted as inlet ) 1x 120mm stock case fan ( exaust ) Noctua D15 cooler ( slightly bend in shipping im getting an RMA soon ) I am using Ai suite 3 as my program to set up my fan speeds, fist of all i am running them in DC mode stuck at 1100RPM ( not sure if the RPM is overkill but my CPU is even at this playing a game called "Black Desert Online" at 70-78C so hence the higher RPM ). My issue is whenever i reboot my computer the custom fan setting ( DC mode 1100RPM ) does not automatically get selected causing me to on every reboot manually select it. Ive seen another forum post where they told me to change my profile to the standart(asus) in the Program files folder. but whenever i reboot it still referts to stock curve > custom one i made. Anyone know how to get a default fan profile to always get selected, when rebooting my pc. Thanks for the help people!~

Hello everyone, first of all, English is not my mother tongue so i hope you understand what i say. I went to BIOS to check for any Fan settings for my CPU, i checked every section except the last one which was "PC Health Status", i went there and saw the setting "CPU Smart FAN Mode", this setting was set to "Auto" i clicked on it to see for any other options and i saw "Voltage" and "PWM". I did a quick Google search about this setting and people say that "PWM" is better than "Auto", so i did what they said, i changed the setting from "Auto" to "PWM", my question here is, what does it actually do? I mean what are the advantages of using "PWM" than "Auto"? Is it better? Because i'm a bit confused here. Also my CPU Fan is a 4-pin and my motherboard has a 4-pin for the CPU Fan so everything is good with the headers. Thank you Specs: • Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2 • CPU - Intel Core I5-750 2.80ghz (OC'ed to 3.1GHz) • Graphics Card - Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI Windforce 4GB (Not OC'ed) • RAM - Corsair 12GB DDR3 1333mhz • SSD - Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB

Hey. Thought this would be easy to find the answer for on the internet, but can't find a single straight answer. So can I have my rear fan going faster than my front fans, that are all connected to the same header (sys fan) via pwm fan hub (p7-h1) ? I'm guessing no, but please enlighten me. Thanks

Hello, I have recently installed three HD120 Corsair fans, they run perfectly fine apart from the sound. When I was doing research people said I was able to control the speed of the fans etc so they will speed up when my pc goes under load/ has high temps and would slow down when at idle, as currently speaking I do not know what is the average sound to a computer at idle or under load. I was hoping speedfan would help however they are unable to find my fans - One is plugged straight into the motherboard (4pin) and then the other two are plugged into a splitter (also 4 pin) it is a three way splitter so should I also plug in the other corsair fan into it ? My specs are: 3700x stock cooler, rtx 2070 Super, 16gb 3200mhz, 750w psu and 3 corsair HD120 and two Corsair stock fans that come with the Corsair Spec-06 RGB white. I am one the having a quiet pc when at idle as I find it distracting and when I bought these fans all the reviews said that they sound perfectly normal and quiet at idle, but is this with a controller?? I have also installed HWMonitor and that does pick up my fans unlike Speedfan, however, I don't know how to use the program to its full advantage. I hope you can help me as I want my fans to be controlled by the temperature of the pc, so when at idle with low tempertutes it shouldn't need to be running at 100%. I have looked in the BIOS and hardware monitor, I have turned then onto Smartfan mode however I don't really know what I am doing apart from looking a graph - My motherboard is a x570 MSI Gaming Edge WiFi. Thanks in advance, I am sorry for poor grammar etc as I am typing this after looking for a solution for a couple of hours and I just want to start playing some games etc. I also don't know a thing when it comes to fans etc so sorry if I am being stupid- I am open for learning.

So this is a simple question but I have one of the 2066 asus board the ROG VI extreme and I am trying to find a way to have one of the sensors control the HAMP fan header but sofar it seems the only one I can get to work is for it to change fan speed based on the CPU temp. Is there any way either in a program or in the BIOS that I can choose which sensor is used to control the HAMP fan speed? I am very bad at giving adequate information but If you need more then just ask. Thanks :)

Hello, I recently buit a PC and the only real issue I’ve had was with getting the fans to spin appropriately. On idle they spin slightly too fast for the noise to be a non-issue but my only problem is that I’m unsure how to go about fixing it. I installed the AI suite software but didn’t really understand it either. It also changed the fan speeds that I already had so that now they spin a lot faster than before at idle. I tried using the BIOS Q fan tuning but even that didn’t make them as quiet as before. What’s the best way to fix the issue and how?
