Hi, I did a quick search and couldn't find anything recent about this. I use Chrome. I like the 'New Tab' page with the shortcuts on it but was wondering if there was any way to edit these? I've tried the various versions of speed dial and they're either a bit too intrusive or flat out rubbish. Any one got an alternative?

Hi, Today for some odd reason google chrome browser has decided to mess with me. Each time I've sign into chrome my login data isn't being saved. Each time I close my browser it reverts back to " Please sign into chrome " messing up all my extensions. I've haven't noticed any malware or virus on my system which could have hijacked it or mess with it. Anyone know what the hell is going on? Cheers.

Couldnt find a forum topic for this so i posted here So im doing a project for my church, my associate pastor made a memorandum kind of dvd with old pictures of church as an anniversary celebration (were 150 years old!). But when he handed out the dvd, nobody could figure out how to play it on their dvd players. So here's what happend. Nobody at my church is very techie, so the disc was very poorly made. My associate pastor scanned pictures he found at the library and copied all the .jpg files onto a disc. So the scanner copied some photos more than once and none of the pictures were organized. So the only way to veiw the images was to open the jpg, close it, open the next, ect. All the images are simply called image1,image2,image3,l ect. So to help everyone who does not own a computer, or just cant veiw it, i decided to help them. I want to convert all the images into a slideshow .mp4 file, then convert that into a readable dvd by a dvd player. Now what i need is software to convert images into a mp4 file slideshow, and software to convert the mp4 into a file type that is readable by a dvd player. Thank you in advance for anyone that can help.

Deciding if I need extension cables or not, it seems the YouTuber below used it for mainly aesthetic purposed, but are they better for cable management? He is using Silverstone White Extensions: http://amzn.to/20oge5 in this build. My build parts are listed here: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/FndNNN.

It's finally here, for all you Pokemon haters, here's the Chrome Extension for you. Pokemon NO is a chrome extension made by Conor Browne that blocks any Pokemon content that appears on your screen, think of it as a re-skinned Pokemon version of Adblocker Original post

Hello, I'm currently, building a new PC. I have purchased a EVGA Supernova G2, i wanted to sleeve the PCI-E and 24Pin cables. After looking at them, i saw they have double wires and capacitors making them very difficult to sleeve. I'm planning to get some extensions for them just abit worried about using extensions. My New build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/GphL6h Are they safe to use? Are there any disadvantages of them? What would be the best extensions to use with EVGA G2 850W? Im only looking for 2x 8 Pin PCI-E cables, 24pin cable and maybe a 8pin CPU power cable. Thank you in advance, Mmkay

Im getting a corsair HX750i psu and wandering for the cables. I only have two options for cable modding right? either have to get extensions which take a lot of space. Wont look as good? or i have to buy a full kit of sleeved cables ( only corsair or compatible?) Sleeved cables aren't sold separately ( apart for 24 pin or extensions) are extensions worth it or individually sleeved better? (extensions cant go straight to psu then to hardware? can it?

Hello, and thanks for reading this already! I'm making a black and white build. I'll be using a single R9 390 Sapphire (2 x 8 pin) and i7-6700K (so that means 24 pin and 8 pin) I'll be going for some nice white cables, to add that bit of uniqueness and aesthetic And I need some help, for I am not good at this: Should I go with extensions or cables? What are the pros and cons? What brand should I go with? The brand of my PSU (Corsair)? Will te be cheaper for me to sleeve them myself? (Note I am clumsy) Will an 8 pin EPS also work for the CPU? (My Motherboard, the MSI Z170A Krait, says it needs an 8 pin ATX) Any help will be appreciated! Thanks in advance! EDIT: forgot to mention the colour

I'm interested to see what other people use to change the look or feel of YouTube. I personally use 'Magic Actions for YouTube'. It changes that hard white background to a dark grey/black. It also seems to be able to buffer videos with more efficiency than the vanilla YouTube. It's got a tonne of other features, like scrolling to change the volume, adding effects to the video, etc. It also has a setting to force all videos to play at a certain quality (so mine's at 720p, but people with slower connections can set it to 360p or whatever) and it overrides that "auto" quality option I personally hate. So what've you got?

So what are some really useful/powerful chrome extensions that you use? I think it's time for me to finally take the time and tailor chrome to my tastes. I only use a handful of extensions Speed dial 3, ltt extension, gmail, avast safe price(don't judge me it doesn't really do much and doesn't really waste any resource) So any suggestions?

I would like to order some custom sleeved extensions for my power supply and send my case in for airbrushing. If anyone knows someone who can do either of these please post their email, website, or other form of contact information. I will be using a Corsair AX860i power supply and the Cooler Master Storm Stryker case for my build. Any references would be helpful. Thank You in advance!!!

So, I'm planning to get an OCZ Zt power supply. However, I want to get gold cables. Extensions are fine, also, except I cannot find ANY gold cables whatsoever. Does anybody know where I can get them?

Maxfinder sells sleeving extensions that match my color preferences down to the tee, but I've never heard of them and they don't sell anywhere else outside of FrozenCPU.. Anyone have them before? They are more expensive than other name brands like Bitfenix and Nzxt cables. I'm looking to buy sleeves for my 24pin, 2 6-pin GPU slots, and my CPU power. Each extension is 25cm, and the total will be $65 Any reason I shouldn't go for sleeving? Or is there a better place to look at sleeving than FrozenCPU? Here's a link to the Cables I'm thinking of getting, 6pin (x2) 25cm 12.99 24-pin 25cm 19.99 8-pin 25cm 12.99 Will this cause an uncontrollable rats nest in an h440? Anything you guys recommend will go better with my Blue and Black h440?

Post at /. Source for image. Great. Hmm, I wonder if there will be a browser coming out in the near future (or may be already out) that won't have this implemented in some shape or form, but also works with most websites. We'll see. I personally don't like it. We just keep going over it, but DRM is a losing proposition for both parties. How many times are they gonna try crap like this? It doesn't stop pirates. It never really does. It only makes their process of getting content slightly more annoying. I think this is a sign of things to come: Open Source Browsers. Are there any? I mean, I know some are technically that way with extensions, but still. ... I already have a name for it: Google Ultron Interesting comments on Slashdot: What do you guys think of this idea of DRM in the webspace?

I was wondering about sleeving a power supply. My understanding about making custom cables is that for an extension you do not need to cross wires, you just need to "extend" from point a on the power supply's 24 pin connector to point a on the extension's connector. While on the other hand if i am making a completely custom set of cables for a power supply I may have to cross cables, solder cables and ect. I was also wondering if all power supplies have different pinouts so that you can not make a cable that fits all power supplies. Any and all help about making custom cables and wiring would be great. My main concern is not the actual sleeving but instead the wiring.

Hello Guys, this is gonna be a long one. So after posting my build (Obsidian 1.0) and being super proud of it, I looked at the Build Of The Week thread, that was a mistake. The pure awesomeness of those systems has driven me to do better myself, I doubt I'll ever get it as good as those guys, but damn I can try. The first things I decided to do was ditch my air cooler and colour-coordinate my system (Obsidian 1.1), but the real significant mod I want to do is cable sleeving (Obsidian 1.2). I've spent the last week researching the hell out of it and I'm finally convinced someone with no experience can do it. People with actual experience, I'm requesting you go over my preparation process to make sure it make's sense and that the numbers are correct. I've been asking some questions on LTT, but decided to start my own thread so I wouldn't be taking over anybody else's. From what I've learned it seems that Lutro0-Customs is the best sleever out there and his FAQ and youtube channel are my primary source for instruction. And most people say Million Dollar PC (MDPC-X) is the best sleeving material source there is, they are in Germany, so shipping won't be free, but it seems very reasonable and they provide lots of options and nobody has said anything bad about it's owner, Nils. However they are not the only choice, you can also get Paracord from Lutro-0 Customs, have Lutro-0 do it for you entirely (obviously expensive) or you can get extensions which are machined large-scale, so they'll be lesser quality and you'll have to deal with managing longer cables, but they're fast and simple. The best selection I've seen for extensions (in Canada) is Memory Express and I've heard a few people recommend BitFenix if you do go the pre-done extension route. You can see my Obsidian 1.0 specs and pictures here. My Obsidian 1.1 upgrade will be done this spring and consists of cooling and aesthetic upgrades: Replacing the quality but ugly Noctua NH-D14 with Swiftech H320 All-In-One liquid cooling Replacing the stock Swiftech Helix fans with Cougar Vortex fans Replacing the 750D's stock fans with Cougar Vortex fans Adding NZXT LED lighting (orange) My Obsidian 1.2 upgrade will be the sleeving upgrade, but requires more planning. Following Lutro-0's advice in his FAQ and some random guessing, here is the process I came up with, please make sure I'm doing this right. PSU: First I decided to replace my semi-modular PSU with a fully-modular PSU. I believe this will make the sleeving process much easier, though I have seen some people say working with a non-modular PSU is easier, but that it requires opening the casing, something I am not willing to do. Since I've has such good experience with Corsair, I decided to go with the AX-860. As an added bonus this will mean I can continue to keep the old PSU in my computer and have it functional during the actual sleeving, which will be a multi-day process. What method/sleeve do I use? I decided after watching all of Lutro0's guides to go with the MDPC (plastic) heatshrinkless method. This should deliver a real nice look with the added bonus of not having to line up all the heatshrink perfectly. I also considered paracord but it didn't have all of the options I wanted so I decided to go with MDPC. Colour Scheme: I've decided to with black as my main colour and orange as my accent. I hadn't originally planned on modding or colour-coordinating when I originally built the system, so I kind of have to work with what I have, namely black components. For the sleeving I've seen lots of looks and decided that I would make each cable 75% black with an orange stripe offset from the centre. The pattern i would use for the 24-pin: How much sleeving do I need? I used the PSU's datasheet to determine the length of the cables I intended to sleeve. I broke the sleeving into the three different categories as named by MDPC: Small Sleeve, for individual wires. The 24-Pin, EPS, PCI-E, Molex and Sata power cables. Black Orange Sata Data Sleeve. Black Orange USB Sleeve. For small wires such as the internal USB, front-panel and audio cables. Black Then I multiplied the number of each cable by the length of the cable by the number of wires I wanted black and the number I wanted orange like so: (Number of cables) x (length of cable in mm) x (number of black wires in cable) Example: 24 Pin connector = (1 cable) x (610 mm) x (18 black wires) = 10.98 meters of black sleeving I've added a 25% safety margin to each total, I'm hoping that is enough but if someone with experience would like to correct me, I would be thankful. I have also decided to buy heatshrink pre-cut, so I took the number of connections I had (120) and added a 75% safety margin on those for a total of at least 210. You'll also need some tools to complete all this. If you already have some of them then it will be cheaper for you, but this is what my price estimate came out to: And here is the actual cart from MDPC: Note that since I'm ordering from Canada I don't have to pay the 19% VAT (tax?) so the cost is lower than what is shown on their website by default as Nils details here. Shipping is also better then I thought it would be. Note that I have not placed the order yet as I'm waiting until summer to do this upgrade and I want to hear back from some pro's to make sure I'm doing it right. Thanks for reading that long-ass post and I welcome any advice or questions.

In an attempt to improve Chrome's security,Google has announced that all extensions for Chrome's beta and stable versions on Windows must be hosted in the Chrome Web Store as of January. Users on the dev or corporate channels, however, will still be able to install add-ons from local sources as usual. This should reduce the chances of having malicious extensions hijack the browser. There are however no plans to introduce this on other platforms since Windows users is where most complaints come from. Source: http://www.engadget.com/2013/11/07/chrome-windows-extension-policy/ This really sucks since I do use some apps which are only available outside the Chrome store but I guess there's still the option of switching to dev channel, even if I wish we weren't forced to switch to it because of the many people who fall for these despite Chrome warning them of the risks.

So ive got a semi modular psu that i would replace with a modular one but i don't have the money right now and i want the cables to match the build as atm they are yellow . I was looking at these and wondering how they work http://www.mwave.com.au/product/bitfenix-alchemy-sleeved-cable-24pin-atx-power-blackblue-ab54244 Does it go: PSU - NON MODULAR CABLE - EXTENSIONS - COMPONENT ? because they don't look long enough to go straight from the psu also id want to use these cables for the CPU, 24 pin and my graphics card with has a 6 pin and a 8 pin but i cant find any 6 or 6+2 extensions so will a normal 8 pin work?

So I logged onto my computer today, and was welcomed by the wonderful notification of Chrome disabling some of my extensions without my permission, with no way to stop it and a link to a support page. I know it has been a long time coming, with the initial announcement in November. But to see if finally pass through is a huge downside for chrome. I understand why Google is doing this, but there are definitely other solutions. I agree with their change that extensions can only be loaded from the extension page, rather than from any webpage. This makes sure that extensions don't get silently loaded into chrome. Disabling non-store extentions is a bad move on Google's part. Locking down their browser for both simple and advanced users is a crappy move for the advanced users. The annoying developer mode popup almost made me switch, but there is no way I'm putting up with losing some extensions and dealing with the popup. I'll most likely switch to a different browser now, or use Canary, as losing some of my extensions is a killer. And I know I'm not alone.

I would like to know if using PSU extension cables (e.g 24pins to 24pins and 6pin to 6pin) reduces the power output of the PSU? Thanks in advance for your kind response.
