Hey guys, thanks in advance for any advice. I originally built my computer over 6 years ago with the help of this forum, and while I've upgraded many components since, I'm still using my original EVGA PSU. (EVGA SuperNOVA 750 B2, 80+ BRONZE 750W) Its been great all these years, but just recently its on the fritz and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do, or if I have to replace it. Basically I can work on my computer for an hour, put it to sleep, and upon return nothing works. The power button does nothing, there are no lights, no fan spin, and no signs of life. I first unplugged everything from the PSU and did the paperclip test, which failed. I then slumped over and began taking the PSU out of the case. On a whim I tried the test again and the PSU worked. I put it back and the computer worked, and worked well. I was able to play VR on just fine as well as Horizon Zero Dawn. However this behavior has stuck. 80% of the time my computer will not turn on, and I have to jostle the whole thing to even have a chance of it powering up. Also, several times I'll sit there scratching my head and the thing will just come to life on its own. In the beginning of this year I managed to upgrade to a R5 5600x from my i5 4690k, but that shouldn't be a problem, right? Using EVGA's website, it looks like I'm out of warranty, but might they still help me? They have conflicting info on how long their warranty lasts. If they can't help, is there anything I can do to rectify the problem? I dare not open the thing, seems far to dangerous. Thanks in advance.

Bare in mind, I haven't bought the psu and cables yet, but trying to figure everything out. If this is in the wrong spot, I'm sorry. The PSU I was looking at is the EVGA SuperNova P6 1000w and I was looking at the configurator on CableMods. I looked under their custom cables and I am unsure if the psu is consider to be P6, which is on the drop down, or would be supernova p6, which isn't. I am unsure if I should get custom cables or custom extensions. The Case I have is the Phanteks Enthoo Evlov x case

Hello everyone, Straight question: what thickness is needed for the thermal pads on this card? VRAM? VRM? MOS? Backplate? Thanks in advance!

Hello, I have been having issues with my new system lately. Sometimes whenever the CPU is under load while playing games, the system would randomly reboot; monitors go black and BIOS posts. However, the system (its fans and whatnot) stay on. This first happened during its 2nd-3rd week of operation. After it first happened, I shut down the system and popped open the panels to see if any of the wires were loose and whatnot. I also re-plugged some wires as well. Everything looked fine. I then decided to check the temperatures once again to see if any of the components would overheat. To my knowledge, none of them have problems overheating. I did some research online and I learned that the software I use, HWinfo64 has a logging feature. For the past few days I have been logging during gaming in which the system did not randomly reboot during those logging times. Today, it happened again and I was logging. I looked into the logs and I didn't notice anything weird except for high voltage on the CPU at idle (1.472v). Whenever I load up a CPU intense game, the software logged 1.494 volts on the CPU. Another thing I noticed was that the 12v rail was logged at 9v. However, BIOS insists the voltage is 11.980 volts. It is clear to me that the PSU isn't the problem, unless it is. During other times where I was gaming, at times the GPU would be at 80C, but the memory would be at 100C. Unsure if that is normal. I will attach the logs in this post for assistance. File type is .csv. System Specifications: CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X GPU: RTX 3080 TI FE RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB 3200MHz MOBO: ASUS TUF X570 Plus Wi-Fi PSU: EVGA Supernova 850 GT 80 Plus Gold * Using Asiahorse Mod Sleeve Extension cables for the motherboard and CPU Boot Drive: Sabrent Rocket 500GB PCIE 4 Anyone able to help me out? I appreciate it. Logs Before Reboot.CSV

Hi everyone, I was trying to install a waterblock for my gtx 1080ti (evga gtx 1080ti sc2). Since the card is a evga variant and I did not find a perfect waterblock for it. Instead, I found one which should work if I remove one of the fan connector (plastic socket and the metallic pins) shown in the following picture. So just wondering if that could be safely removed and how? Thanks!

I was playing with EVGA EX1 and saw that at a extremely aggressive fan curve I was able to get marginally better headroom twithought having the fans to 100%. With that I feel like on water I can squeeze a fair amount more out of it while also keeping it cooler... I have a EVGA RTX 2080 XC....Does anyone know if EVGA has a AIO cooler specifically for that card? Comes with back plates or proper stuff for VRMs and such. Or do I have to go the route of getting a CPU cooler and rigging it to the card with ALIEXPRESS mini heatsinks for the other components. I would rather a one and done solution. Since I don't have the money or room to make a custom loop. One similar to the one my wife has (MSI 1080TI Sea Hawk X I think).I can't seem to find any specifics on this. Any google results just end up with the cards that DO have their AIOs already applied.

Hi All, I managed to get hold of a 3080ti XC3 Ultra at MSRP which i recieved today. Im having an issue with my Acer x34p monitor where when i try to increase the refresh rate from anything above 60 hz, the monitor acts like its getting an intermitent signal from my pc. This issue only arose when i installed the card My old card (GTX 1080 ti) never encountered this issue. Ive done vbios updates, new drivers for both gpu and monitor, unistalling drivers, cleared cmos, enabled HAGS (aparrently a fix on earlier rtx 30 series cards) but still no luck. Any advice would be welcome before i open up an rma request eith evga Many thanks, DaButterGamer

Hello, So I have a bit of a weird one... I recently received a defect EVGA 1060 6GB single fan card (06G-P4-6161-KR). The fan had died and former owner tried to fix, but no luck. I got only the PCB and mounting bracket - no cooler, aluminum heatsink or backplate. I did however have a Kraken G12 and a Corsair H55 lying around, thinking it would work out just fine (although, it looks foolish due to placement of chip as well as lenght of card). My only issue now is: how do I cool all the small components, VRM, Mosfets etc. Do I buy a set of heatsinks with adhesive? Thermal tape? I guess thermal pads wont work as I have nothing to conduct the heat. Bonus: What do I need to have cooled and what don't I need to cool? Forgive my mistakes, I am fairly new to playing around with GPU's Have an awesome day, thanks for reading :)

Hello, I managed to get myself hands on an EVGA 3060 from CC on the 26th, and ever since I've had some weird issues with booting. After overnight power downs my card wont display image during boot process, as in monitor displays "no input detected" even though my cpu fan is turned on. When this happens my gpu tends to not have fans turning either, sometimes it does that with no load but I would like to have then spin by default if possible. This morning I ran into something concerning when after restart, my display have some minor artifacting, but after another restart it was gone. (2560 x 1440p monitor, the artifacting was specifically around 3rd letter on google search bar after a search). I did some Furmark after 2nd reboot and there were no artifacting, was doing 26 fps stable on 1440p, 8x msaa. Other than the issues that fix themselves after 2nd boot there are no problems, I run games perfectly, but I am just worried since I was scammed recently with dead 2080s Other specs: I7-10700f CM Hyper 212 cpu cooler MSI Z490-A Pro Corsair Vengeance 3200 2x 8GB 970 Evo for boot drive (I've ran some tests and 0 errors when testing the 2080s) Corsair (2019) 850 W 80+ Gold (was aiming to get 3070 or 2nd hand 2080, also lots of winter power outages) My thoughts are just potentially power delivery problems, I have spare cables, or the DP.

Hi guys, I've been a long time viewer of LTT, but a new member to the forum and I've got a little bit of a head scratcher here. I just got my 4th 2080ti from an EVGA RMA and it's showing artifacts in Youtube videos and Heaven benchmark runs. I sent back 3 2080ti black editions for similar problems (the first one sparked up, the 2nd had full on space invaders, and the third one wouldn't output a VGA signal after waking up my PC from sleep.) They upgraded me to a 2080 XC Ultra, but when I plugged it in, I started seeing the same Invader artifacts, but no shutdowns or other issues. I called up EVGA to complain, and they mentioned that all the cards I sent them worked on their test bench, and even the card they sent out was fully tested before shipping. They mentioned my GPU might be getting "dirty power". Does anyone here know how to help, or has anyone been in a similar position? I'm running out of options. Could this be a PSU issue? I recently got a rtx 3070ti LHR edition from EVGA. I was just wondering if in the future when mining no longer poses a stock problem, if EVGA will likely remove LHR from its KL models.

Hello everyone, I have bought a new prebuilt computer from Newegg. The model is an ABS Gladiator gaming PC (ALI502) Specs are: Gigabyte Auros Z590 Elite AX (Updated to latest bios) 2x8 Gskill Tridenz 3200mhz ram Intel i7 10700k Evga 750ga full modular power supply Evga RTX3080 Ultra FTW3 My problem is, it's not giving display but all of the lights, fans are working. So I made some inspections. I plugged off the GPU. PC works fine and booted into windows. I tried another PCI port for the rtx3080. Same problem I have tried my old GTX650 ti boost. It works. I plugged my rtx3080 into my old rig with the EVGA 750ga PSU. It didn't work either. I tried another 750w PSU, same problem. I have tried to change CSM, 4G Resizeble bar support, etc on the bios. I switched EVGA rtx3080 bios modes. All of the Three 8 pin VGA cables are separated and connected to the PSU. I have cleared CMOS and reset bios several times. I switched the ram slots, left only one. Changed the integrated GPU to enabled the bios so I can get a display from the mobo. It seems like it's stuck on the Auros bios logo. I can't even get into bios. Nothing fixed the problem. The card is not completely dead, fans and LEDs are working. So I suspicious about which one is DOA. I have contacted Newegg. They directed me to the ABS customer cases and they told me they cannot provide me an RMA because it was an international order and I should send it to NewEgg. Why wouldn't they check out and tested the PC in the first place? It already took me some time to handle the paperwork for the customs and shipment. Returning the whole pc to the NewEgg is a complete nightmare for me. I am living in Turkey. So I contacted the EVGA and successfully register my card on the EVGA website. It has 3 years of warranty. It looks like I will send my card to the RMA. Before that, I would like to get your comment and suggestion. Maybe I am missing something.

I've been scrolling through Twitter recently and I've gotten reports and several tweets saying that Amazon's new MMO game is apparently killing 3080 ti's/3090s and other high end cards. Even AMD is affected as what Jaytwocentz said regarding this matter. But for those who have installed the Beta. How many of you bricked your card? I'd like to know because I was just about to download this. Thanks.

So I’m having a problem that seems to have started relatively recently. system specs; Mb: ASUS Republic of Gamers Crosshair VIII Hero (Wi-Fi) AM4 ATX Motherboard CPU: Amd 5900x Cooler: Be Quiet! Dark Rock Pro 4 Memory: G.SKILL Trident Z RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3600 (PC4 28800) Intel XMP 2.0 Desktop Memory Model F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX (I have another set in the system both running at 3200MHz) GPU: MSI Gaming GeForce RTX 3090 PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 1000 G5 some background, I bought the 3090 recently and I had the power supply before that and had no issue. Even after I got the 3090, the power supply had still behaved fine. But it’s been a couple months since then and now on start up the psu fan ramps to 100 and similarly when there is any slightly demanding task, ie simply playing a video, launching a game, even background processes in windows. What makes the problem worse is that the power loss is completely random. It sometimes happens immediately after booting into windows, while playing a game, idling in windows, playing a video. When that power loss happens it sometimes gets in a cycle where the computer will not boot into windows because it shut off before it can get there. Lastly, as a side note, all my drivers are up to date, and I’m updating the Motherboard bios as this is posted, but I’m not sure if it’ll do much. If anyone can help it’d be much appreciated, thank you

Hi ! I need some Linus Sex Tips here. First and foremost, sorry for my terrible English. I just bought the EVGA 3080 FTW3 ULTRA (LHR of course), I did a clean install of Windows 10, installed the drivers and stuff. All good no problem, but then, I launched Battlefield V (ULTRA 1080p with RTX at first) and had something like less than 40 fps with huge freezes. I then removed RTX and had the same issue, less than 60 fps with huge freezes and drops. Then, I tried it on GTA V Ultra, same problem, 40 fps where I should have more than that ? I have tried the card on my brother's computer, but the drivers were not working (not a compatible windows version ?). We checked and it was a compatible one. With that, all the USB's began to act weirdly (mouse not working, keyboard disconnecting). The backplate is quite hot at idle and so does the GDDR6 (72°C). But the card isn't that hot (60°C idle). What's weird is that 3DMARK does work and I have a pretty decent score (I think ?). Same with other bench, but not in game ? Could you help me ? Thank you very much, Florian. At the end of last year I purchased a EVGA 1070ti off eBay. I soon found out that the card was faulty and would cause the system to randomly black screen. I reached out the EVGA and luckily it was still under warranty and they ended up replacing it with a 2070 super. Unfortunately that card did not work in the prebuilt I originally put the 1070 in so I ended up building my first new pc. I then found out that the 2070 has really bad coil whine (see video). I reached out the EVGA again and they spent the past 5 months trying to pin point the problem for them to tell me that it is the GPU but they cant replace it because my warranty ran out while they were replacing my PSU 3 times and repeating the same troubleshooting steps over and over. Now I'm kind stuck and I was wondering if there is a way to solve the coil whine. Edit: They did say they would replace the card if it was still under warranty but they kinda ran out the time on that one. IMG_0324_1.mp4

Lucky gamer here, so I have rare opportunity to get either the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3090 OC or the EVGA GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 ULTRA at MSRPs (EVGA queue for one and the Newegg shuffle for the other). So I was wondering is one better than the other (I assume it probably comes down to cooling, noise and temps since their both 3090s) when it comes to performance, so I want to get some opinions between the two, thanks in advance.

As the title states, I've been extremely frustrated with my newly built PC because it constantly crashes at random intervals, mainly when playing video games. I know I'm not the first person to have this issue, however all of the fixes I see stated online simply do not work for my case My Specs are: i7 11700K running at stock clocks EVGA RTX 3060 XC (12GB GDDR6) running at stock clocks MSI MPG Z490 Gaming Edge Wifi Motherboard (with latest BIOS update, and default BIOS settings) Corsair RM 750W PSU 16GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM (Running in Dual Channel, channels A2 and B2) Samsung 980 PRO M.2 SSD (Boot Drive) 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB HDD NZXT H510 Case CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO Black CPU Air Cooler I have already tried: Doing a clean install of Windows Reinstalling my graphics drivers with DDU (I did this with all current versions for the RTX 3060) Turning off Fast Startup Changing Power Plan Advanced Settings (PCIe Power Management, Wireless Adapter Power Management, Sleep times, etc.) Resetting BIOS settings Running SFC Scannow Running powercfg -h off Swapping my RAM sticks to the other two DIMM slots Testing my RAM with memtest86 Ran stress tests to ensure temps are okay (they are) Changed where my PC was plugged in I cannot find a way to make the PC reliably crash. While it does mostly happen in games, it rarely does outside, and currently never during a stress test, however I may have not run the correct ones for enough time (Currently have tried Unigine Valley, and Furmark for GPU, and AIDA64, and Prime95 for CPU and RAM) I have uploaded a .ZIP with a bunch of small dump files that may help <<https://ufile.io/x3q47rit>> I have already contacted Corsair for an RMA on my PSU which I know may solve the problem, but if there's something I haven't tried yet that might solve my problem I'm open to anything I watched one YouTube video where a guy had the same issue and fixed it by using a different CPU cooler because apparently his conflicted with components on the motherboard causing the issue, so I'm not sure if that will help, but it's worth mentioning. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm completely lost with this issue and just want it fixed. I've already contacted a local repair shop and they'd need multiple days before they can even diagnose the problem, so I'd want to try everything I can before that point if I can. Thanks so much guys! -Christian Dump_Files.zip

Hello Tech Tips Forum, As the Title Suggests I am needing some assistance finding a new CPU Cooler for my Intel 9900X CPU socketed on my EVGA x299 Dark Motherboard, this motherboard is what makes things complicated because it's VRM Cooling solution eliminates my ability to Select Coolers like the Noctua NH-D15 or BeQuiet! Dark Rock Pro 4. So with that said, I'm needing some Suggestions to help with purchasing a new CPU Cooler until I can inevitably make the upgrade to AMD, the reason I need a new cooler is mostly because I suspect my 3-4 year old EVGA CLC 360 is beginning to head on it's way out. So as such I need help with suggestions for a new cooler, I do have some brands I intend to avoid, one such brand is NZXT. Preferably I'd like to get an Air Cooler, but I am open to Liquid Coolers, that being said, Air Coolers are the priority. Any and All suggestions are helpful but I really need help with finding compatible coolers. Thanks.

Hey guys, I'm currently selling my RTX 3080 FTW3 off Kijiji for around 2.2k and I've recently been thinking on just selling it open box. Basically only offering the GPU. Nothing else. With that being said how much would the value drop if I do decide to sell it without the box? I would like to keep the original 3080 box and put it on display alongside my 3080 ti box. The lowest I could sell it for is 1.8k but I really want to sell it for 2k if that's possible without the box.
