The Geforce NOW for Mac (beta) program has launched in many parts of Europe. This means you can use your Macbook, that you would usually have 3-4 fps on on high settings in Tomb Raider (MacBook Air 2015) and bump that up to 60 fps for free, which actually works really well and with very little latency using Nvidias Cloud Streaming GPU technology. http://geforce.com/geforce-now

One popular site in EU to buy PC-parts from in EU is mindfactory.de; especially if you live in expensive countries like Finland and Sweden (I've lived in both). Their prices are far lower than anything offered in either aforementioned countries. Last time I bought something from them was in November 2016, without any issues and I was really happy with the speed and service of the store. However, yesterday (29 Aug 2017) I tried to make a new order. But it was not possible. When trying to check-out it just said that "Shipping outside of Germany is not possible". I sent an email to their helpdesk and asked the following: Rather swiftly I received a reply: So it seems like they have completely abandoned the European market, unless you order as a company/entrepreneur that has a valid VAT ID-number. Just thought I'd share this discovery, as I haven't found any other posts on the Internet discussing this matter.

Hi all. So so my family and I are going away to Europe and the U.K. In the next few months and I would like to get a SIM card with a data contract on it. The need for it is that my parents aren't very tech savvy and they don't really understand how to connect to wifi hotspots. So to avoid this I would like to purchase a data contract on a SIM card which will be placed inside a wifi emitting device (like those potable wifi hotspot devices that you place a SIM card in). I plan to use 2 of these devices so that we're not stuck to one. It will also allow us to call each other and family from wherever we are if we get separated. Please se can you let me know of which isp's are good and have good coverage in Italy, France and England as well as what contacts they offer. A link to their websites would also be very helpful. I am from South Africa as a side note. Thank you very much for your time and have a wonderful day!

Pretty much as the title says, do Savage Jerky ship to European country? Do I have to order directly from their website? Do import taxes get calculated during the checkout or would I receive a "surprise" when the package arrive? Dunno where to post sponsored contenent related stuff, so I'll go with off topic

I am currently in the market for a new laptop at around 1400 - 1700 USD (so a little over 1000 USD in the US due to EU duties). As I'll be moving to the UK for uni, I don't care in what country I buy the laptop (whether UK or Czechia) I don't really plan to game on it and most heavy machine learning tasks can be done over cloud computing (all heil google collab), so I believe quadcore U-type intel chips should be fine for my needs. Expectations: To last me a couple of years (3-4) without becoming sluggish. i5/i7-u quad-core processors should suffice for whatever I wish to do 8+ gigs of ram, ideally upgradable, but I guess 8 could do the job. 256+GB ssd good battery life not too sure about weight, but anything under 1.5kg seems reasonable. Love using split-screen in windows, so 14-inch display would be really cool after struggling with split-screen on 13.3" laptop, though I could do with a 13" laptop if it had something to extra to offer. a backlit keyboard is a must after my current laptop without it. Currently, I'm considering the following ones though I am open to recommendations: Thinkpad T490 - godlike keyboard, seems to be quite resilient, 14", upgradable ram/SSD Huawei matebook x Pro - 14" glory, though I don't seem to be able to purchase the 2019 model and don't want to buy an outdated one at this price. huawei matebook 13 - pretty decent value I suppose Surface laptop 2 - 3:2 14" screen is beautiful, the keyboard seems alright, miss USB-C/thunderbolt 3, but I guess I can embrace the dongle life with it's USB 3.0 dell XPS 13 - Everyone seems to love this one, but it just doesn't attract me. I/O is great and love thunderbolt 3 support, but the keyboard seemed to have a really weird spacing. (9380 is very expensive here, i5, 8GB ram and 256GB ssd comes to 1760 USD) I've also thought about the surface pro 6, but I pretty much haven't taken any notes throughout highschool (IB) and preferred learning from online materials/study guides, so I guess this trend will follow at uni.

Hello guys, I bought a 1070ti Strix about two years ago and I've had a great experience with it so far. The stock thermal paste is starting to worsen significantly now though, the graphics card is running about 7-8 degrees hotter now than it did when it was new. I was wondering if the do not remove sticker on the Heatsink screws actually does anything in the EU as I've heard it's useless in some countries and you keep your warranty coverage. Also, could you confirm whether the coldplate on the 1070TI Strix heatsink is nickel-plated? I've heard they basically slapped the 1080Ti Strix cooler on the 1070Ti. I'm planning on swapping the stock TIM with conductonaut which is why I want to make sure it won't eat away at the heatsink. Regards

Heya! I am on a search for new Headphones with a matching DAC/AMP for it. Through a search i stumbled upon a combination with a fiio k5 pro and beyerdynamic DT 880 250Ohms, but im not sure if this is fitting. I heard these are not the greatest on the bass side? (Yeah i like some good old kicking bass) My primary focus is on listening to Electro Swing type of music and playing video games from time to time, but the games are focused on non shooters so more "slow paste" games with music in it. The budget is around 350€ish. Do you guys have another recomendation that would fit to this? Thanks! K~

Hey everyone! I've been trying to track down a white/limestone Louqe Ghost S1 case in europe (final destination Denmark or Germany), but can't seem to find the bloody thing on any store/website. Even a used one might be an option at this point. Is anyone here selling it or knows where I can get my hands on one?

Hello everyone! I am considering buying a new phone since there's some pretty good deals going on where I live right now. Apples are too expensive so out of the question , I've had LGs and Huaweis and I am looking forward to getting my first samsung. So I want to buy an S9 Plus but the European version has Samsung's own processor the exynos. I've heard that a lot of people have had huge battery issues with their battery life at launch back in April - June. I am a light user, I will mostly not be home to charge it for 10 hours a day, I will have whatsapp running in the background and I use mobile data (4G) constantly while I'm not at home browsing reddit / reading the news and whatnot. I usually end up only using 3-4h of screen time a day , at most. I've also heard that the august patch they rolled out improved battery life greatly , but only for some. So anyone from Europe / that owns an exynos S9 Plus that can give me some insight / feedback ? Is it worth getting the S9+? Is the battery life really that bad or has it been improved greatly? Of course I could just get it and return it within 30 days but I heard that for some the battery life went bad after around 6 months. Thanks in advance

Sorry if this isn't the most appropriate place to ask, but considering the item I want is keyboard, it might be good enough. When ordering from amazon.com I have to pay extra for "Shipping & Import Fees Deposit". Now are these all the "extra taxes" that must be paid or when item arrives, I have to pay something to customs, too? Or the import fees is what goes for customs?

I'm from a south Asian country and I'm looking forward to migrating to Europe. But right now I'm pretty much at the start of the process. So I would like to have some advice. As for the countries, I'm considering pretty much every EU member state but I would much prefer Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and Ireland. I'm also considering Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. I would greatly appreciate any response from you and thank you for your time. P.S. I think most of the countries will categorized me as a skilled worker

So, because my current GPU (an original (release) R9 380 4GB) has a broken fan I'm planning on buying a new GPU the problem is that because I'm only 14 - 16 I don't really have that much money I'm gonna try to get save up some money so that at the beginning of 2019 I should have around 600 CAD / 455 USD / 400 EUR now my question is which GPU would be best suited to my PC and budget because most people will need this information: my PC is a "Pandora - Turbo CD 3500+" here's the spec sheet (also the GPU schould be easy to install becuase i never installed a GPU before) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ CPU: Ryzen 5 1500x @ 3,65 GHz RAM: 16 - 64 GB DDR4 @ 2133 Mhz (SODIMM) GPU: R9 380 (4GB) @ 980 Mhz / 1337 Mhz HDD: 3TB @ 15.000 RPM SSD: 256 GB @ 3 G/bit ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi! I'm a computer science student from central Europe, Hungary. I wanted to respond to one of the topics in the latest WAN Show. The topic I'm talking about is the price of US based company's products in Europe. I want to begin with Apple products because they are the most overpriced here. Many things are reasonably priced in the US. The iMac Pro base model is almost as much as the sum of the components and laptops are considered cheap compared to the European prices. So take a look at this: If you look up apple.com and apple.hu (the Hungarian Apple site) and click on iPhones, you see a strange thing. The US site has them starting at 999$ for the XS and 1099 for the XS Max, the Hungarian site on the other hand asks for 399,999HUF (1,436$) for the XS and 439,990HUF (1580$) for the Max. That is not a small difference. And the gap between the prices continue to grow as you select the higher storage capacity models. The most dramatic is the 512GB XS Max that supposed to cost 1449$ but in Hungary it will run you 577,990HUF (2076$). That is incredible. It is a whopping 627$ gap. For that price you can buy the maxed out OnePlus 6. Check out the fully speced iMac Pro tho: In the US it's 13,199$, in Hungary it's 4 784 790 HUF which is 17,052$. And yes, I know this includes taxes but there isn't a state where you would have to pay 4,000$ of taxes. Now to be fair, this is not completely Apple's fault. The import fees are 27% and taxes are just stupidly high from the US. This happens to every US company's product over here, like Surface Books, Dell XPS notebooks... If you are importing from Asia (like Samsung and Xiaomi phones) the taxes and import fees are almost 0. If you check out the Hungarian T-Mobile website and choose the S9+ and iPhone XS for comparison you can see that the 64GB models are 285,000HUF (1024$) for the S9+ and 399 990HUF (1,436$) for the XS. It's a 400$ difference while in the US it's 80$ (as of now on at&t's site). The problem is that it doesn't matter that it's not Apple's fault, the consumer only sees the price tag. This is one of the main reasons that Apple is not doing so great over here. I also want to point out that here, you have to give 2 years of warranty as a phone vendor, so that might increase prices. But the 2 year warranty is applied to every other phone too, not just iPhones, and the T-Mobile site I referred to already has the warranty fees in the price. The problem however is present with laptops too. Here is an example: The Dell XPS 13 with an I7 8550U, 16GB of ram, 1TB SSD and a 4K panel costs 1800 US Dollars on BestBuy. If you check out one of Hungary's biggest electronics stores called edigital you see that a similarly built machine costs 935 990 HUF which is 3,335$. And this model has a last gen i7-7Y75. That is such a ridiculous difference that it doesn't make any sense buying a high end product like it. Sure you can buy it from amazon, but even then it will cost you a lot more and you won't have a place to take your notebook back to if it needs a quick repair. It is actually pretty hard to get relevant comparisons because companies like Razer don't sell their stuff here. Your options are importing it or buying used. The LG Gram and Surface devices are basically impossible to find here. The other problem is that even if you find something it's most likely running outdated hardware, like older processors. I get that as an EU citizen I get 2 years of warranty with every purchase, but I don't think that it makes up for these price differences. People used to joke about buying a plane ticket and going to the US, buying the stuff you need and coming back with money saved. This joke is starting to sound like a great idea nowadays. What do you guys think?

So 2 months later I return with the planning of my build. The intended use for the build remains the same, gaming at 1080p in games like LoL, Overwatch, Rocket League, F1 2018, XCOM 2 and Rise of the Tomb Raider. Also some light video and photo editing in Premiere and Photoshop, and programming both in Windows and Linux. Budget is around 1000€ and I can buy parts in both Spain and Germany. This is the planned build for the moment but is subject to any changes you suggest. CPU: I think I'm in the right spot here as Intel CPU's are getting more expensive and this is still one of the best CPU's for my situation. Motherboard: People suggested a B350 but after seeing compatibility issues and having to update BIOS with a 1xxx CPU, I think I should go with a B450 mobo. I'm mainly between the Asus Prime B450 PLUS and the MSI Tomahawk. Memory: I read in some other forum topics that along with a Ryzen CPU, it's important to have a fast ram, so I'm selecting from parametric filter the cheapest DDR4 3000MHz+ RAM. What I'm still not 100% sure is if I should go for 8 or 16GB RAM, but for the moment I'm sticking with the 16GB. Storage: I'm pretty sure I need an SSD even if it's just a 250GB one, so I'm adding that to the build. The other alternative I have in my head is buying only a 500GB SSD and buy a HDD later, but I don't want to start spending again on components for the PC too soon and I'm worried I might need more space than 500GB, so the combination of 250GB SSD + 1TB HDD should do. Video Card: As I'm going for 1080p gaming, my first thought was going for a 1060 6GB or even a 1070 if it went down to a 300-350€ range, but right now the cards have not went down that much. I also have I'm mind picking a RX 580 if I pick a monitor with Freesync as I will discuss later. What I don't know is how comparable to the 1060 6GB, 1070, RX580 4GB and RX580 8GB are. In my mind they are RX580 4GB < 1060 6GB = RX580 8GB < 1070, but I could be wrong. Case: I'm looking for a nice looking white case, with good airflow to keep the thermals right. I was thinking of the NZXT H500, but maybe it has bad thermals, the Silverstone RS06 Pro or Meshify C, but maybe too expensive. User @Streetguru suggested this Fractal Design Focus G and it might be okay, but I need suggestions. Power Supply: Here I'm just going for one at least Bronze rated, with 500+ Watts and if I can at least Semi-Modular so I can manage the cables a little better. OS: I have a Windows 10 Student Key from the university so it should be no problem. Monitor: Here comes another problem. Originally I thought of picking a 60Hz monitor, which if I end up picking, I need suggestions if that BenQ is good or there is another better monitor. I posted something some hours ago and users suggested me to look into the 144Hz market, and if that's the case, I should look too into picking an AMD card and Freesync. This was the monitor that was suggested, a Viewsonic XG2401. Sorry for the long post but I want to clear the doubts I have, TLDR is that I want a 1000€ computer (monitor included) for gaming and programming.

Hello there! My name is Anthony. I'm trying to build a new PC and due to the fact that I leave in Greece its not that easy cause of the economy over here. This is my new build +plus a used RX 580 8GB for 200€-220€ Now I found the MSI B450-A Pro for 15€ less than the Asrock one but it says that it is created with mining in mind.. Will it do the job like the one I chose now or not? P. S. Any other suggestions will be appreciated!

Simple answer: Because every country needs to regulate it on it's own, and public should address anything illegal to authorities if needed. But here's more meaningful insight directly from The European Commission, obtained via e-mail conversation. Also, if needed, I have the formal permit to post this reply publicly:

Hello everyone! As a stranger to this community, and a not so great english speaker, i feel like first and foremost i should apologise for my mistakes. I am in need for help. This was my dream since i was a child in a poor country where you could only dream of anything faster than the school PC and after some hard work and a little immigration i can finally afford to spend 2000 Euros on a hopefully decent machine. Budget (including currency): 2000 EUR Country: Austria Sadly, living in europe also means more expensive stuff, which worries me a little bit. Aim: Playing AAA games at 1440P at a decent framerate with moderate to high settings, hopefully for the next 4-5 years (it might be alot to ask for this budget). The system will be used mostly for gaming. I am also trying to learn some light video and image editing. I would like to be able to upgrade easier further down the line, which i think going AMD for processor ( maybe a 3900x? ) with an x570 chipset might be better, but please correct me if not. Minimum two m.2 slots and a PSU of at least 850W gold/platinum would be most preffered. Other details: Not really looking for RGB. I would preffer cheaper parts over RGBness. This budget is only for the PC, excluding peripherals, monitors or anything else. I plan to start shopping next month (arround 10th) if by then, the gods of PCs have answered my prayers. I will lose a lot of sleep until I find a good config. Please be my Melatonin.
