Alright so I've been having random crashes lately and these occurs sometimes while gaming but I've mostly noticed them when I am just browsing the internet or just letting my computer be by itself. And it seems like its a different error each time but I have some pictures I will include. Also I do not know if this is related but sometimes at night my computer will randomly boot up on its own. I also get a lot of "He's dead Jim." error while loading webpages in google. Any help is beyond appreciated. Thank you. Ok this issue started when I decided to delete the windows.old folder (upgraded to windows 10). So I deleted the folder and that was all fine. Then I realized that I had like 30gb free space on my C drive (250gb SSD). So I decided to shrink the C drive with EaseUS partition software, I succeeded. But here is where my problem started, when shrinking the C drive, the software did something strange, it deleted a by system reserved partition by 63mb. That specific partition needs to be minimal 350mb for W10 to boot. Resulting in me not being able to boot. So I proceeded trying diskpart to extend that partition to 350mb--> no luck. I've tried many different things with diskpart but still no luck. I also noticed that the system keeps giving the windows partition the label 'G' instead of 'C'. So I changed that to C, I succeeded. HOWEVER, for some kind of reason it deleted my W10 from my SSD. Leaving me with NO windows. So now I'm trying to install W10 again from a CD, had no luck. (system freezing at the windows logo). It also gave me the error code 0cx00000e9 a couple times. So PLEASE someone, can just someone help me with this. I'm really frustrated and scared to lose all my data... Any help will be appriciated! sorry for my RIP English BTW.

First of all as you might see from the title my drive has died, this has cause a few issues. If I can get help to fix any or all of these issues that would be very nice My pc has two drives in it: - Seagate ST9750422AS momentus 750gb (this is my C: drive. it is still working) - Seagate ST2000VX000 sv35 2tb (this is my drive I install everything too, it has died) Now when I installed windows 8 At the start of the year I must of done something wrong as my pc will not boot even though my C: drive has no errors and seems to working just fine. the PC does the normal "please use bootable media". So that is my first problem, can I fix this booting issue? I dont have a windows 8 disk anymore for reinstalling and I really dont want to reinstall anyway. my second issue is well, as you might be able to tell. My 2 TB drive isnt working anymore, when I turned the pc off last night it made some clicking sounds and doesn't seem to want to work now. When I plug it into another pc (this is how I know my C: drive is just fine) it comes up as being only 128GB "Unallocated" and asks what the picture below shows Is there anything that could be done to fix this? It holds all my games, pictures, music, movies, isos. Basically all things like that. Any help would be nice as my computer is unusable untill it at least boots. I don't mind as much if I cant recover my 2 TB as I do have a replacement It would be nice if it can be fixed how ever. If you need any more info like pictures of logs or something, just ask and I will try and get it for you. Thanks

Hello. I supposedly have a 4mbit ADSL connection. However, my whole internet experience has recently become dreadful and I can't play online either. The modem is a wireless generic/Thomson router. I've attached a screen capture of ping requests sent to Google. I've also copied some information from the modem's control panel - I don't understand what the figures mean though. Hey, guess so recently I started building a new rig current specs are - Asus A88mx-a mobo, - 8 gb Coursair Vengance pro RAM 2133mhz (soone to be 16) - No dedicaded GPU (coming soon about a month or so) - AMD A10 7700k Black edition APU (10 cores = 4 CPU + 6 GPU) - 430w Thermaltake PSU - Coursair Case (Carbide Series® Air 240 High Airflow MicroATX and Mini-ITX) So the main problem is that I can run Battlefeild 4 a medium settings and get approx 60-70 FPS, but try to run minecraft and I can barely get 60 fps (around 45- 58, also my render/ view distance is 10)? Why would this be, I guess im more confused that I can get more FPS in a more intensive game without a dedicated GPU and bad fps in a minecraft ( i think is a lighter game). Any thing I can do? or Optimize? or just go get the dedicated GPU? Thanks any feedback for this is welcomed !

So I've been working on a PC that's giving me tons of trouble. Blue screens of all kinds, first found out it was a USB wifi device I was using would cause blue screens and it caused blue screens during installing some drivers, so the drivers were bad. Fixed all that and it seemed ok. Then I start getting memory errors but all the memory tests out ok except in dim slots 1 and 3 if fails like crazy. Replace the mobo and then the TCG encryption on the SSD starts failing and the PC keeps erroring and BSOD, reset the PSID and try to install a fresh windows copy, windows fails to install and Blue screens during install... Replace SSD and Windows installs. Everything's looking good for four+ hours and now I am getting memory errors again but the memory tests fine in all sockets... Now I am leaning towards power supply... Thoughts anyone

Hi! I've got a problem with my computer, it's shutting down for some weird reason and I've not a single clue what the reason can be. Once my PC is starting "for the day" it's on for like 20-30 mins, and then it suddenly restarts. Sometimes it freezes. Once the pc restarts it gives away 4 "beeps" and there is nothing coming up on the screen. Once in a while it gives me "System_exception_not_handled" and "System_service_exception" Im getting this error: http://gyazo.com/a90a036e7ff6a6ff818174ffef746e44 And it says "Kernel Power Critical" - http://gyazo.com/43a1b67b1e41c8229d2fb5db8db0cd2e Im running a: Windows 8.1 64bit. I5-3470 GTX670 600W Bronze Powersupply. I've tried the most about the system exception, not even a windows reinstall is working... -LaseerQ

Recently, I attached a AIO to my Asus r9 290 with the kraken g10 bracket. When I booted up, everything was fine and dandy, and stayed that way even while watching videos on YouTube. However, when I first attempted to boot up a game, the game ran for about 30 seconds, and then my computer rebooted it self. After the reboot, I couldn't get any video signal, and had to hard power cycle my machine. The vrm temps seem to be not at the levels that would cause this kind of thing, so I am absolutely stumped. Any help I could get would be wonderful, thank you guys.

Okay, I have a Mad Catz V.7 Gaming keyboard which for some unknown reason has decided to stop working. I don't know how and I don't know why. When it is plugged in, I try and type into anything and it will just refuse to type... The thing is though, it still is illuminated and the Num-Lock key is illuminated. But, luckily enough, I have a spare, unused PS2 keyboard just in case of these mishaps. My PS2 keyboard works no problem, but the weird thing is, even with V.7 still plugged in, I can press the Num-Lock button and it will toggle it off, and it does the same on my V.7. It also goes off, but when I try it on the V.7, it doesn't work? I also have the software and I have some the macro keys set, and when I select a profile and try it, it still doesn't work. But don't thing that the computer isn't just simply not picking it up because I can still use the media bar at the top (Volume up/down, mute, play/pause, previous and next) and they all work. I can also still use that though panel to turn off the back-light and change the colours and everything. it is just like, the whole "Keyboard" part of the keyboard isn't working. I don't know how it happened. Last night I was using it no problem but now it is simply not working. The USB pass-though still works, along with the audio jack and the microphone. I have even tried plugging it into my brother laptop because I used it on his when I has to do some work and my computer was doing a update. Didn't work on this either. Do you have any idea? I really don't want to be stuck with this REALLY old PS2 keyboard. My Grandad first owned this keyboard when he bought a PC with Windows 95 on it. I still actually have that PC somewhere in the attic. lol. Hope for a quick reply, because I currently cannot afford another keyboard due to the cooker and fridge going on the exact same day. Many thanks - Joe -------------------- EXTRA INFORMATION -------------------- I have just changed the USB ports and I defiantly know it is working now because It has just installed the drivers for the keyboard. But when I try and boot into the BIOS, it won't let me... I can keep pressing "Delete" but it still refuses to work. But yet, when I do it with the PS2 keyboard, it works no problem.

So i've just clicked onto what might be my problem. I've been having USB interal errors since i first posted my PC. I had an error with Samsung magician some time ago which caused more errors after this but i have since sorted this. Now i'm back to my original issue. The interal USB error. I have no idea how to diagnose it. However i've just realised. My BIOS only has a Window 8.1 options for boot. Therefore making me wonder if X99 is even compatible with Windows 7 and if it's actually the OS causing the issue. I'm installing Windows 10 next week either way so i suppose i'll find out if it is the OS but im wondering what everybody else think it might be. If there's actually an OS issue here or if it's actually an internal USB error. Although i don't understand why there would be. I have an NZXT Phantom with the external fan controller built into the case if that helps. Although i doubt that the NZXT fan controller would cause so many errors. A0, B4, 9C, A4 etc. errors.

Ok so I am having many issues with my computer recently. First off we can start with my USB ports, i'm not sure if it's the devices that i have hooked up. My Logitech G430 7.1 gaming headset towards the end of the day keeps shutting off and it wont stop unless i restart my computer or move it to a different USB port I'm also having a terrible problem with my Google chrome browser. I think it has been causing my computer to freeze up a lot now. It mostly happens when i try to watch YouTube or open a new tab. Having issues with freezing on my desktop i'm sure if it is because of Google chrome. But its starting to really get to me to where i can wait 10 minutes or restart my computer. This also happens when i try to launch League of Legends, launch screen. Last I've been having some issues with my wireless adapter for my computer, it is not working sometimes(random disconnects) and my computer saying that the adapter isnt even there sometimes. This is my first build so i'm hoping it wasn't because i screwed up on something. PC specs: Motherboard: MSI 970A-G43(I have a feeling this is the issue...) GPU: AMD Radeon R9 200 series CPU: AMD F(x) 6300 six-core Ram: 2x4 RipjawsX series SSD(no HDD): Intel 730 series 240g Wireless Adapter: N750 DB/N900 DB High performance Dual Band Wi-Fi USB Adapter

So my old computer had a problem with varying crashes. It would blue screen at random times, it would freeze, it sometimes wouldn't start-up, and it would notify me that my overclocking failed, although I wasn't overclocking. Strange enough, my computer wouldn't crash at all at my friends' homes; it only crashed once, after hours of use. Because of this, I went ahead and purchased some new parts, and upgraded my PC. It purchased a new case, motherboard, and CPU. Getting my new build up and running was hard, and while trying to install my new drivers without wiping windows, I got a blue screen. So, I did a clean install of Windows 7, installed all of my drivers, and all was well. However, I did receive another blue screen, due to another overclocking failure, but that was resolved by setting the BIOS to its default settings. I was able to play a very simple game for a few hours, simple as in, it doesn't stress my components much. I then switched to a more intense game, and it froze, no blue screens or anything, and after hitting the reset button, I was in a reboot loop. The computer wouldn't even start up, it would try, fail, and try again. After stopping the loop however, it would start up fine. I need to know wha1t may be causing this, and how I could possibly fix it. I'll be getting a new GPU next month, if that's the problem, and in case it's important, I'll list my specs below. I will try to update this if I get more crashes, because I believe there will be more, and I believe they will vary. GPU: MSI GTX 760 OC 2GB CPU: i7 4790k RAM: Corsair XMS3 8 GB (2x 4GB) PSU: Corsair Enthusiast Series 650-Watt 80 Plus Bronze Certified Motherboard: Asus Z97-Pro (Wifi-AC) Chasis: Corsair Carbide 500r CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO HDD's; Western Digital Cavier Black 2TB/ Blue 500GB

I recently put together a new gaming pc, (my second build) and would greatly appreciate it if you could help me with this issue. Thanks The specs: i7 4770k CPU ASUS Z87 Plus Motherboard ASUS GTX 970 GPU Corsair H100i CPU Cooler 8GB 1333mhz ddr3 RAM 2x Samsung 840 evo 750Gb SSD's Corsair TX850M PSU The Problem: I recently put together a new gaming pc (as my old pc was 6 years old and very outdated) when I had completed the build I turned the pc on, the fans started up but it refused to connect to a monitor (with any of the connections on the motherboard or graphics card) I then noticed that the red cpu light was on. I double checked all the power connectors and reset the cmos but nothing has changed. Thank you for paying attention to my problem. I am getting pretty desperate at this point as I have been saving for 4 years for this pc and so would greatly appreciate any help, Thanks.

Hey guys, so I really am in need of assistance here... I'm having BIOS errors with my motherboards, http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4980#sp, a Gigabyte Z97 Gaming Wifi Black etc... Apparently I shut down my PC in the middle of a BIOS update I did not realize was going on, because the Gigabyte app center can download bios updates for you (or something like that I gathered) and I didn't realize it was in the middle of upgrading from version F5 to F6. Initially, after this happened I would be able to login but I would experience a blue screen of death within 2-10 seconds. Now my system doesn't even recognize there being boot-able devices, I think. I am receiving an error code which is one of two possible things: Either Ab: Wait user command in BIOS Setup or A6: Detect and install all currently connected SCSI devices. It's tough to tell whether the second indicator is a 6 or a letter 'B', but my guess would be a lowercase 'B' as uppercase would be too difficult to discern from the number 8 and it doesn't have the cross over the top like you'd expect to see on a 6. That being said, I don't know what either of those errors mean and how to solve them, and I could REALLY use some assistance. Thanks a bunch! -Sephiroth

Yesterday I received my long-awaited gtx980, and upon installing it, the drivers, and a new psu (EVGA 850w supernova v2) I encountered various errors. When I boot it up, it stays on the bios options screen for at least a minute (the one where it says "press f2 to enter bios menu"), and if I try to enter it, or press any key, a short beep comes from the mobo, and if I hold down the key, if makes a series of beeps so close together it sounds like one continuous beep. Once the bios splash screen goes away, a few more short beeps are made, and the screen goes black. A few more beeps, and the windows loading screen pops up and it boots like normal. With the only exception being that the right hand side of my taskbar is missing some icons, such as the network icon and the dolby audio profiles icon (as pictured below). Whenever I try to play a game, the computer crashes, no blue screen, just a short black screen, and the computer powers off. edit: tried playing games again and it works fine! other errors still apply though Another problem I have had for a while, is that whenever I restart my computer (or just turn it back on from being off), my network drivers stop working, and the only way for me to access the internet is to reinstall my network drivers. Things I have tried: - Reseating gpu - Resetting CMOS - Restarting computer - Reinstalling different network drivers - Uninstalling old AMD GPU drivers Specs: intel i5 3570k (not overclocked) EVGA reference GTX 980 EVGA 850w supernova v2 intel z77bh-55k 8gb (2x 4gb) kingston ram @ 1333mhz

Hi, I built my first computer about 5 months ago and it has been giving quite a bit of trouble. Although the parts have great performance, it is constantly crashing every day. Within one hour it crashes anywhere from 2-10 times and I have no idea what the the problem is. Also, while it is running and using chrome, sometimes at the bottom left corner It'll say, "waiting for cache," or, "Appcache," and everything will freeze for about 30sec, not just chrome. When it crashes I get error reports which I've made a list of: -System Service Exception -Whea Uncorrectable Error -Kmode Exception Not Handled -NTFS File System (This is in Windows 8.1) None of these happen more than the other and I'm sure these aren't the only ones, but definitely the most common. Here's my specs: -AMD FX-8350 -Asrock 990FX Extreme4 -WD blue 1tb -Samsung 840evo (OS) -Corsair RM 650 -Asus r9 280x directcuii -Cooler Master Hyper N250 At first I though it was my old ssd that I dropped while building the computer, but the new one has not fixed the problem at all. I'm not sure what to do so some help from people who understand computers better would be greatly appreciated. I'm always scared that i'll lose a big file and the constant crashing is getting really old. Thank you so much

Since this is tech related and something i'd like to discuss, i thought i'd post it in general discussion Wouldn't it be easier if the error *beep*s that come from your pc when something has gone wrong were in morse code? Sure. Some of us have the L.E.D's that glow bright red near the affected area. But since we already have the beepy thing in our computers it might as well make itself usefull For instance. - -- - / - -- / -- -- = RAM ( - = short beep. -- = long beep) Or -- / - / -- -- / - -- -- - / - / - -- - / - -- - / -- -- -- / - -- -= Temp error This way it could tell you more specifically what has gone wrong. And transcribing the error onto a piece of paper would not be too hard. Am i the only one that thinks this might be fun?

Hey guys I now got my GTX 780 for a while and I noticed that when I'm doing some Folding@Home, "something" in my case is starting to whine. First I thought it was the PSU but I wasn't. Im thinking that its my graphics card, BUT the strange thing is, that it only whines when I'm folding and NOT when I'm torturing it with something like FurMark or any other benchmark. Could it be something different from the GPU? Maybe my mainboard? I thought of RMA the graphics card but I have to be sure that it really is the cause of these noises. What could it else be? Thanks for your answers!

"POST" Beep Error Codes I'm new to PC building and repairs and recently wanted to start my experience in the field. I went and tried to rebuild a old HP Slimline s3420f, I purchased a new hard drive and reapplied new thermal paste. I also acquired RAM for the PC. I cleared the computer and all its components of "obstructions" or dust and after replacing the broken parts I put the system back together. However when the system tried to boot up, the display stopped working and the Error Beeps began to play in a constant loop. 1 short and 1 long beep. I have tried to go back and fix the problem but I am absolutely stumped. get the error "DNS_ERROR_BAD_PACKET A bad packet was received from a DNS server. Potentially the requested address does not exist." when I try just SKULL. When I try with SKULL.LOCAL I get "Lsass Error Network name not found.. Failure to lookup a domain name ending in ".local" may be the result of configuring the local system's hostname resolution (or equivalent) to use Multi-cast DNS. Please refer to the Likewise manual athttp://www.likewise.com/resources/documentation_library/manuals/open/lik...for more information." This is the only couple of problems I am having with this portion, I tried using a static DNS Server, Static IP... I even tried to do some research on this problem and still didn't budge anywhere. I also edited the resolv.conf file which lead no where. I want to expand my networking into linux as I gain more knowledge of the Windows Side of Networking 2. The next problem is adding my Network Printer. The configuration of my printer setup is with a Windows Print Server, I have installed all the required components on Windows Server 2008, which I don't know on the client side of things, but the error I get is "Bad device-uri "lpd://ADMINISTRATOR1/HP Deskjet D1400 series"." That is the only error I am getting right now. I went through Windows Firewall, and it has been allowed for LDP Service. Any help will help me break ground on a little bit of Linux/Windows Networking.
