I have an HP Pavilion dv7-1245dx that I recently installed a new battery for. I booted up the laptop and it (I think?) failed POST. The Caps Lock and Num Lock keys flash four times and after a while it powers off. No display, not even when hooking it up to an external monitor. I looked through the guts of it and made sure everything was hooked up and connected properly. Nothing seemed wrong, but I did find a missing HDD. The Pavilion comes with two, and after looking through the other one, I can confirm that the hard drive I still have is the boot drive. Is there something I'm missing?

When using my computer it seems to randomly go to a black screen where audio will continue but I have 0 input. After trying to reboot the computer will continue to boot to a black screen. I have been dealing with this for months and haven’t found a true fix all I do is keep re seating the gpu, clearing cmos, reseating ram etc and I also have random success with that. I’m just really stuck here and in the verge of tears gaming is really the only escape I have. I also tested the gpu in a known working PC and it ran fine. I also tried using a different GPU in my computer and same black screen issue. SYSTEM SPECS: RTX3080ti 32gb Corsair vengeance ddr5 ryzen 9 7950x3d Mag B650 tomahawk WiFi EDIT:I’ve also gotten the computer to boot to windows through integrated graphics another odd note the computer will stop displaying internal graphics if I plug in my oddesy g7 instead of my smaller 1080p tv switching back to the tv it will also now have no signal

I've never seen this odd behavior in my life. Please help me. I believe this is related to the core issue of the problem. Let me set the scene: newly built PC, fresh install of Windows 10 with only the necessary drivers for the motherboard installed. I open up Edge to get the installer for the Discord application and go onto Nvidia's website to get the newest drivers for my graphics card. I'm sitting here with fresh Windows 10, nothing installed, just a blank desktop with just two installers, Discord and Nvidia. I click on the Discord installer and it crashes with some Java error. Okay, fine, I think, it's a fresh install of Windows. I restart the computer and try again, but the Discord application installer crashes once more. Odd. I try again and it crashes again. So, I try the Nvidia installer, which loads up to 28 percent and crashes with some 7Zip CRC Error. I think, okay, really fun and great. I decide to look up the error but find nothing very helpful, and I don't follow anyone's advice. I decide in that moment, 'I WILL INSTALL THIS.' For the next 20-30 minutes, I click on the installer and it crashes every time. But, someone one time said something about not giving up, so I just keep clicking. I click one last time, get up, and run around my house like a buffoon. When I come back to my computer later, the install has worked. I'm shocked. I ended up doing a similar thing for Discord, and the application eventually installed. I don't know what the heck is going on with this computer, but I really hope someone has a good reason for why that worked, even though it really didn't. I may have installed the drivers and Nvidia and Discord, and even a game eventually, but the game and Discord crash after opening. Discord opens for 2 minutes, then crashes, same with the game. So, I may have won and installed them, but they don't work. Please help, this is too odd for me. I've just built my first PC about a month ago. The building process went perfectly to my delight (thank you Linus PC Building POV) however I've had some performance issues since. The only things brought from my previous build are my EVGA 750 GQ 80+ Gold and my 3060 ti. Everything else is completely brand new. Things were working great, except I would get some small stutter in Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 + 2 where it'd stutter for a second and drop 1 fps to 59. I wanted to fix that and tried a youtube videos suggestion of increasing page file system to be the same amount as my RAM and using msconfig to set my CPU Cores. Doing this made everything worse. Tony Hawk was constantly stuttering to unplayable amounts. So I set those settings back to defaults, everything was still messed up. Tried system restore, it was successful (initially) but Chrome wouldn't open, so I restarted the PC and immediately started boot looping to BSOD Critical Process Died. Couldn't repair or load into safe mode. So I reinstalled windows. I was back up and running, but now all of my games and benchmarks intermittently stutter, BAD. Yesterday everything worked perfectly (HZD Benchmark and playtest, perfect. Shadow of Tomb Raider Benchmark, perfect. Tony Hawk, a few small stutters, but smooth 60 fps otherwise.) Today, every single thing stutters. Even Superposition has hitching. I've tried everything I can think of. My CPU temps never rise above 40 C gaming, my GPU usually sits around 64-74 max usage. Vids of hitching linked below. Please, any help is appreciate. (Crash Bandicoot is the smoothest, but you can see the FPS still waivers randomly.) I'm also on the latest Nvidia drivers. Hello! So i recently did a big upgrade on my rig. New GPU & PSU and then a month later i changed my cpu/mobo/ram. So basically the only thing that didn't change was my M.2 SSD. I consider myself pretty good with computer(except the Bios we have nowadays with a thousand options) but i've never struggled that much after a new set-up. I will list all my PC components down below. When i first launched the upgraded rig nothing worked so i've changed the bios boot option to CSM and then that did the trick. Then after a day i started having a new problem when using all four sticks of ram (64GB total). when i would boot my system i was stuck in a BSOD loop that would attempt to fix itself, then reboot over and over again. So after checking online i went in the bios and enabled Memory Context Restore & enabled Power Down under DRAM menu instead of leaving it in AUTO. And that did the trick, the system would finally boot! Then i did the classic ''sfc /scannow'' & ''DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth'' to fix the remaining minor issues. So now after all that i have yet another problem. Yesterday while simply watching youtube videos i got two BSOD. One at midnight and one at 3 am. Both the same error. After the second one happened i tried the SFC & DISM tricks and then it didn't happen again. But today i decided to play Cyberpunk and during the very first loading screen i had yet again another BSOD with the same exact errors as yesterday. I took some screenshots. I have no idea what to do now. I finally have my dream rig and yet i can't even enjoy it or do the most basic things with it. Please help me, i don't know what to do anymore besides re-installing windows and i don't feel like going through that trouble in case the issue ends up persisting. Thank you! I have tried to update to windows 11 a few times now. Always having an issue with it going all the way through the update, always ends up crashing and reverting back the update but windows keeps forcing me to try so it just cycles over and over every week. I know I could stop the updates but I just want it to work. My PC meets all the requirements etc for the update just draws errors only code I managed to get once was 0xc1900101.

Nvlddmkm gpuid:100 playing cs2 So I mostly play cs2 now, and today I got 2 crashes, one time it just closed like alt f4 without .dmp file and second time it freezed my game and I could only close it via TaskMngr. It’s pretty rare tho, I have 80+ hours in cs2 and got only 3 crashes so far. I haven’t updated any nvidia or windows drivers for the last 3-2 months. I have fan gpu software running in the background since forever. I had quite a lot of problems with my pc in the past, but for the last 3-4 months I had 0 crashes/problems. I also have color vibrance and custom nvidia panel settings. No cs2 launch options and disabled full screen optimization. It only happened in cs2 so far, which is known for crashing at random times. So what can I do to further investigate the problem? DDU? or maybe this is a cs2 problem? PS: I have 4070ti 7600x 32gb

Subject: PC Shuts Down Unexpectedly When Playing Valorant - Need Help! Hello everyone, I'm reaching out to this community in hopes of finding a solution to a persistent issue I've been experiencing. Whenever I play Valorant on my PC, it suddenly shuts down without warning. This problem only occurs while I'm in the game; my PC works fine with all other applications. Here's what I've tried so far: - Updating my graphics card drivers and other drivers. - Monitoring the CPU/GPU temperatures (they seem normal). - Running a full system virus scan (no issues found). - Checking for Windows updates. - Moved Valorant to a different drive and reinstalled. - I've tested other games like Palworld and also ran Kombustor and Did not experience any crashes or issues. - Updated BIOS (Resulted in stuttering in games. I may have resolved it by disabling FTPM and turning Game Boost to auto in bios) My PC specs are as follows: - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core Processor - GPU: ASUS TUF NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti - Motherboard: MSI B650 Tomahawk - RAM: 32gb 6000mhz - PSU: Deepcool PX850G - Operating System: Windows 10 I've checked the error logs in the Event Viewer, but nothing there points me towards a clear cause. The shutdowns are abrupt and don't lead to a blue screen or any error message; it's as if the power just cuts out. The image below shows the critical message for the restart. Has anyone else faced a similar issue? If so, how did you resolve it? Could it be a problem with the power supply, motherboard, or something else entirely? Any advice or troubleshooting tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and help! Best regards, Adnan

Hey people! I have had my pc pc shut off randomly during gaming since i built it and i have honestly tried everything (i think) to try and troubleshoot and fix this issue. My Specs: Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX Motherboard rev 1.3 RTX 4070 TI Super TUF 16GB VRAM Ryzen 7 7800X3D_ Kingston FURY Beast DDR5-6000 C36 DC - 32GB (AMD EXPO)_ 850W PSU Plus Gold Certified_ What I've tried: (probably forgotten a few things on this list but please give some ideas) Completely uninstall and re-install Nvidia Drivers Tried a different GPU (RTX 4070 TI) so its not a defect on the gpu thats causing this Used to use 700W PSU (A few years old) then yesterday bought a 850W new PSU, issue still continued) Checked temperatures on the components and they are not overheating Checked Reliabilty Viewer & Event Viewer for any weird things that could have happend on or right before shutdown) Reinstalled Windows 11 Tried also simple stuff like different power cable and plugging it directly into the socket in the wall Have reset CMOS too and still had the problem with all default BIOS Settings Tried different power plan to lower power consumption Tried Windows game settings like Game Mode & HAGS both on and off If anyone has any ideas on what more i could try or what the issue might be then please let me know!

Hello, I currently upgraded my PCs Motherboard, GPU, CPU and heat sink. After this upgrade, I have been unable to play many games that I have installed and was able to play before. I have ran games successfully on CPU (disabling NVIDIA GPU from Device Manager > Display Adapters) I am getting an error during crashes with nvlddmkm as seen in Event Viewer > Windows Logs > System (Included in screenshot) Note, this only happens with certain games, but not others. Here is current setup: Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-13600K, 3500 Mhz, 14 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s) Motherboard: MSI PRO Z690-A DDR4(MS-7D25) GPU: Gigabyte NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 (GIGABYTE NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 WINDFORCE OC 12G GDDR6X PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card Black GV-N4070WF3OC-12GD - Best Buy) RAM: G.Skill Aegis 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-2400 CL17 Memory (https://www.gskill.com/specification/165/185/1534753735/F4-2400C15S-16GIS-Specification) Cooler: Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE 66.17 CFM CPU Cooler PSU: Corsair TX750M Gold 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply Things I have tried: Updating all my drivers Updating direct X versions Updating BIOS Enabled NVIDIA game optimizations Using Display Driver Uninstaller in Safe Mode to remove all NVIDIA drivers and software, restart PC and do a clean install of NVIDIA (tried both latest Gaming and Studio drivers) and iGPU drivers using the tool Using CleanupTool_1.0.20.0.exe to remove all NVIDIA drivers and software, restart PC and do a clean install of NVIDIA drivers from the following site: GeForce Game Ready Driver | 537.58 | Windows 10 64-bit, Windows 11 | NVIDIA Using Intel Extreme Tuning Utility's Benchmark tool to check the CPU (the max temp doesn't go higher than 81 C) Using FurMark tool to check GPU stress test and temperature and FPS seem to be within limits, so no hardware malfunctioning I imagine? Disabling all non-essential services (Clean Boot environment) Turning off XMP memory profile in the BIOS Changing NVIDIA Control Panel Power management mode to Prefer maximum performance (this includes setting PCI Express Link State Power Management to Off) Changing power options to maximum performance Disabling HDR and Gsync monitor options Lowered monitor resolution and refresh rate Changing games from full screen to windowed mode. Enabling Debug Mode through NVIDIA Control Panel > Help (Resets all the settings of the graphics card to stock values to ensure no over/under clocking was done without my intervention) Ensuring "Record what happened" feature is disabled through Windows Settings > Gaming > Captures Ensuring "Game Mode" feature is enabled through Windows Settings > Gaming > Game Mode Ensuring "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" option is enabled through Windows Settings > Display > Graphics > Default graphics settings Ensuring "Optimizations for windowed games" option is enabled through Windows Settings > Display > Graphics > Default graphics settings Running Video Card Stability Test software for an hour without error Reinstalling Latest supported Visual C++ Redistributable downloads | Microsoft Learn Running sfc/scannow command and found no errors ("Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.") Running Windows Device Troubleshooter and found no errors Disabling onboard graphics from processor in BIOS Reseating GPU on same PCIe slot Reseating GPU on different PCIe slot Using different 8 pin power cable for GPU I will give an example of one game with its error as it might give some insight. When I play both Shadow Warrior 3 and Back4Blood (included in screenshot), both games will stop responding and the video is frozen, yet the audio still continues. I also get this error: "LowLevelFatalError Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost. D3D device was not available to assertain DXGI cause." I am unable to close the game with Alt+F4 and have to use task manager. The process does not say "not responding" as it would with a usual issue like this. Is there any advice as to what I can check to verify what this issue is? Thanks so much for any advice!!

Hi, I have a 7 year old system that's been my daily driver, that I built myself. My main computer Specs are as follows: Asrock X370 Gaming k4 Ryzen 7 1700x Processor Msi GTX 1080 Gaming X 32 GB Corsair vengeance ddr4 ram 1 TB nvme ssd 650 watt antec psu (earthwatts gold, if im not wrong). The following is what I tried and what the results were: Put the PSU, The GPU, on another motherboard. The computer booted fine, and stayed like this for a while but then shutdown with BSOD error video tdr failure, nvlddmkm.sys failed. Immediately turning it back own threw error code 62. Waited for a while then I turned it back on and windows successfully loaded, I then used msi afterburner to undervolt the card, and it worked fine, I could even use furmark. Started my main PCs (the one with the issue) without the GPU and it started fine. Since the 1700x doesn't have display capability, I used Ms remote desktop to login and it was working fine. I put my GPU that was lying idle for a while back in my main computer, and it worked for a bit before giving the video tdr error again. I again waited for a while till the card was cold to the touch. It again started normally but crashed as soon as I ran furmark (the card wasn't under locked here) So my main question is that could this be a thermal issue only? Or is my card failing? I have used this computer everyday since 2017. And have not made any changes to it either.

I am trying to mount a share from my Synology NAS called Backups to a specific Folder on my Ubuntu VM (on Windows Hyper-V). I have found a bunch of tutorials that use CIFS, so I tried the following command: sudo mount -t CIFS -o username=corectusername //NasIP/Backups BackupDel But I unfortunately get the following error: mount error: cifs filesystem not supported by the system mount error(19): No such device Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) and kernel log messages (dmesg) It would be nice if anyone could help me. Thank you in advance.

I've tried looking everywhere but I cant find a fix or exact answer why its happening. When I try to manually install jellyfin I get "Error! The file is incorrect and cannot be installed". Im running version 4.2.41 on a F2-210. https://tmnascommunity.eu/download/jellyfin/ using the "Jellyfin TOS4 10.8.9.0 x86_64.tpk" download. https://tmnascommunity.eu/download/ffmpeg/ gives the same error. Tried with both "ffmpeg_TOS4_4.4.0.0_x86_64.tpk" and "ffmpeg_ TOS4 4.4.3.0 x86_64.tpk ." Not sure where to go from here as it seems like it should be working.

So I have just picked up a used pc the other day because it is going to be a present from my sister to her boyfriend tomorrow. I have tested it by playing a few games on it for around 3-4 hours a day, in the last 2 days, for a total of around 8 hours ish. 2 times it has crashed with the "kernel power 41 (63)" error. I haven't seen a bsod just that it restartet. both times was within the first minutes of me turning on the computer. It has not happend while I have played games on it yet and therefore it seems like (so far) that it doesn't happen at all if it just works for the first 5-10 min of me turning on the pc. So I hoped that could maybe rule out faulty hardware, but I wanted to hear what you guys think and also what you would propose I tried. I would really like to fix it for my sister before she has to give it as a present This is the PC I bought. It is a OEM and not a prebuild. The link is to a danish electronics retailer, but the specs should still be there https://www.elgiganten.dk/product/gaming/gaming-pc/stationar-gaming-computer/acer-nitro-n50-stationar-gaming-computer/185767 only difference is that it looks like the person who had it before added another 8gb ram

I've been trying to use my Sony A5100 (ILCE-5100) Camera as a Webcam since it's much better than my cheap 10$ webcam. To use the camera, I must first need to download their app, Imaging Edge Webcam. After I tried to install it, nothing happens. No apps, nothing. Tried reinstalling it and it brought me to a dialogue that says something among the lines of "It's already installed, please uninstall first to install the application again.". I then ventured unto my C: drive, in it there's a Sony folder that has the Imaging Edge Webcam application located. Whenever I try to launch the app, this dialogue shows: Not long after I just decided to put the whole folder in the bin and installed it again since there's no Uninstall.exe in the folders. Still nothing shows up, and the folder is made again in the same directory. Launching the .exe still puts the dialogue above. I am completely lost. I have 0 idea how to fix this, Googling and using the fixes provided does nothing. Is there something wrong with my Windows installation? Or is that completely unrelated? I do remember using a debloat software about a year ago to lighten up Windows' CPU usage, but that's it. I've never encountered this at all before this particular app. Like... never.

I built a new PC about a year ago. It has been working well up until about a month ago when I upgraded my graphics card. Now, games crash often, it blue screens, it lags, etc. nothing changed except the graphics card. I did realize that the UPS I had it plugged into wasn’t providing enough power, but that has not fixed all the issues. SPECS: Motherboard- ASUSU Z690-e wifi RAM- G-Skill Trident Z 6000 64gb XMP CPU- Intel 13700KF overclocked to 5.8ghz SSD- Samsung Pro 1tb M.2 PCIe GPU- EVGA 3090 FTW3 PS- Corsair RM1000 does anyone know things I should check? I reinstalled windows, reset my overclocks, new thermal paste, reseated RAM and GPU, and ran the windows integrity violation check from command prompt. All drivers and windows are up to date. Stress tests seem to work fine. Cinebench scores are normal. Only bluescreens when I try to do something like turn memory integrity on/off for example (bluescreened twice and finally got it to work on the third try). Computer also likes to randomly restart with no warning when games crash.

Hello. I recently bought a new Thermaltake Smart 600w PSU I needed to finally be able to use a RX 470 I bought some month ago for my Dell Optiplex 3010 motherboard with 12GB RAM, I3 3240, Windows 10 64bit I installed the new PSU, without the GPU and everything worked fine. The motherboard is old so it only has a VGA output which was fine because my monitor is a VGA only. Of course, the GPU I bought doesn't have a VGA output, but I thought I could use a TV with HDMI as a monitor in the meantime. I installed the GPU on the pcie slot and plugged the 8 pin connector and before plugging the PC to the TV I tried turning it on connected to the VGA monitor through the motherboard VGA output. The PC turns on with a message saying the current video configuration is wrong and I should plug the monitor to the GPU, which I expected, so the PC is recognizing the GPU. However when I connect the GPU to the TV through HDMI and turn on the PC there is no signal and the case gives the dell POST error code 1 2 blue On/Off button, the Dell POST code manual says it is a expansion card error, but specifically says it is not a graphics card error and I should remove or install any expansion cards I recently installed or removed. If I remove the GPU the PC turns on just fine. When installed, if connected from the Mobo, gives the message to connect to the GPU. When connected to the GPU, PC won't POST. I haven't tried connecting to another TV, since I have no other TV. I haven't tried connecting through DVI or Display Port since I have no DVI or DP monitors or cables. I haven't tried installing the GPU to another PC since I have no other PC nor I know somebody with a PC I could use to test the GPU. I'm from Venezuela, so it's kinda hard to buy stuff here at a reasonable price when earning 140$ a month One thing I noticed is that the PCIE 8 pin connector clashes a little bit with the GPU board so it doesn't go in all the way, it is just like a millimeter from going in all the way. I don't know if that's what's causing the problem and the GPU isn't getting all the power needed to work. I tried turning on the PC with the GPU installed on the PCIE but without the PCIE 8 pin to test if it was the 8 pin not being connected completely. The PC started just fine using the Mobo VGA port. GPU fans not spinning unlike when the 8 pin is connected.

Hello ' I'm sorry if this is allready on the forum, but I did not find any help at this moment. Computer working fine! next day no image (motherboard VGA error and Boot error LED) Asus 360 F ROG, Intel. Fast conclution - Only boot / post image on a NON CSM Graphics Card. (The Compatibility Support Module) in BIOS. PC - did run ok with a old GTX1070. But then I got this error. Things I did try. - Replace the GTX1070 with a other 1070 card. Still VGA error and no boot. - I removed the card and run onboard Graphics. Still VGA error and no boot. - I tryd a GTX660 - PC show image and auto turn on CSM mode. Win boot and all is ok. I also did try new PSU 750 and 850watt. I cant manage to get picture on the screen with any ''new'' Graphics card or with the onboard Graphics. So The UEFI Bios . dont get picture and give VGA error LED. If I try a GTX660, bios auto turn on CSM and PC works fine. Did Clear CMOS, and I did flash the bios and update it. Still no help. Is the motherboard UEFI broken? Thanks !

White light on motherboard (shows display)

Hello, I have been experiencing some issues with my Asus GA35DX lately it has Ryzen 7, X570, 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD + 3TB HDD, WiFi 6, 750W Gold PSU (Gpu is an Asus Tuf 3080) there is a white light and it sometimes does not want to turn on. I received this yesterday, the first issue was it did not turn on after I took it out of the box when I disconnected the USB dock I had purchased that had my keyboard and mouse connected it decided to turn on (I looked at my manual and saw that I had to plug it there and even checked other ports with the same problem) it was also posting a light that I searched up for asus motherboards that had an issue with the ram but I simply powered it down and waited a bit and never saw that light. I also updated my drivers and had the same problem with the white light. I have also been seeing that my gpus performance is terrible about 150 fps on the ground on Fortnite (on medium and epic settings same results). As well as my Microsoft store not letting me download apps and is stuck at "pending". Also, I have never had my gpu fans spin. LTT LTT (2) LTT 3 LTT 4 -
I have recently gotten a new computer with Windows 11 and I tried to download and play Valorant, I would be able to play for a couple of minutes before an error would occur telling me that I need to have Secure Boot and TMP 2.0 enabled. I've attempted to troubleshoot it to no avail, after startup the command 'get-tmp' in Windows Powershell works as well as typing tmp.msc. However after refreshing it would show error 0x80284002 and the command get-tpm no longer works. Hoping for some help, thanks. My PC Specs are Asrock B550M PRO4 RTX 4060 AMD 7 5700X 16GB RAM
