Anyone running into issues with Yahoo mail today? I can not log in on my phone, and even after changing my password it says it is incorrect. And the recovery options either lead to an error screen for a website that is down, or tells me my recovery options are not there. Can't log in on my phone or in a private window. Thankfully I was logged in on my desktop, but support is only paid from yahoo...

Great idea for a video on taking back control of my data or securing my data. very much up LTT street. Okay I screwed up and my outlook account was hacked and while i got my money back i lost pretty much everything else. all my files including photos of my dead son. I lost not only my emails but also the email address's as well (thank god its not a work email, *shudder* my contacts and my calendar oh and my uni work(though i have no use for it now it still sucks) I managed to rescue some stuff as some of it was on different drives around my machines. anyway to the thing i need help on I have been bitten and now i want to control my data as best as possible. I want to house or at least have a downloaded copy of all my essentials. Here is a list of things I want to house on my home server i'm building with either an online copy or constant access to it. I prefer the idea that the main Information is housed on my server and there is a copy online which I can access anywhere. that way if something happens at home then i got a copy on something like google and a backup on my file storage. basicly i want 3 copies of all my information, Home, website and online backup. (eventually i intend to have a 4th copy in an offsite backup location like my parents house) Currently the list of important things I need help with are Email Access/storage: (also like the idea of emails coming dirrect to me instead of online service but I fear things like power cuts would make that less a good idea) Currently my domain is with godaddy and my hosting is with hostpapa and i can download a backup copy of my emails from there. I have my emails downloaded to thunderbird app. This gives me 2 copies and i can arrange to manualy download it for backup purposes. Is there a better solution? Contacts: Since I lost my contacts its been hard to function and i'm currently using the contacts CardDav that part of my hostpapa email. It currently downloads to thunderbird but I cant find a program thats free on android for my phone so I need a better solution. again i want to access my contacts on my pc, phone and have my normal backups. Calendar: well loosing my calendar data actually cost me money I missed out on so many appointments and software renewals that is not a joke. I'm currently using my wife's callendar but my email hostpapa also has CalDav which is supposed to be a calendar server i can access anywhere, except i only got it working on thunderbird. Tasks: I don't use tasks as much as I want simply because i have had so many problems accessing them on different devices quickly. as you may have noticed i user thunderbird alot and i love the app on my pc and steam deck(main portable device, I use the desktop mode primarily and it works great) however they are still working on a mobile app and have joined with another app developer but its going to be time before its all sorted. so please help me secure my data and files. I currently use a file storage site called Currys Cloud Backup. I think they use livedrive as there software (not sure) anyway i like the cost and the speed is okay, just wish it had a linux program. so to reiterate I need software that works on android, windows/linus(mac too for anyone else) a website backup like google/outlook (though out of principle i refuse to let micrososft have any more data of mine cause of the way they screwed me over) and server software for the server i'm building. (I havent decided what OS I'm going to use on the server yet, hell I'm not even sure if its going to be a raspberri pi or an old pc yet.) anyway any and all help would be greatly appreciated Kuzon

Hello, I've been trying to setup my own send-only mail server so I could send emails using PHP scripts, but I've been running into some issues. Whenever I send a test email to my gmail account, it doesn't go thorugh and I get the following errors in the mail.log file: Apr 9 06:17:55 driedsponge postfix/smtp[28482]: connect to alt1.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[74.125.129.27]:25: Connection timed out Apr 9 06:18:25 driedsponge postfix/smtp[28482]: connect to alt2.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[142.250.11.27]:25: Connection timed out Apr 9 06:18:55 driedsponge postfix/smtp[28482]: connect to alt3.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[173.194.77.27]:25: Connection timed out Apr 9 06:19:25 driedsponge postfix/smtp[28482]: connect to alt4.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[64.233.177.27]:25: Connection timed out Apr 9 06:19:25 driedsponge postfix/smtp[28482]: 57B4E26099E: to=<XXXXXXXXXXX@gmail.com>, relay=none, delay=1985, delays=1835/0.04/150/0, dsn=4.4.1, status=deferred (connect to alt4.gmail-smtp-in.l.google.com[64.233.177.27]:25: Connection timed out) I figured it was because my ISP was probably blocking port 25, so I changed it in the master.cf file to port 587 to see if it would work, but it didn't. The only time I was actually able to send an email was when I used Gmail SMTP. I would just use the Gmail SMTP server, but it prevents me from using my own domain. Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you! Here are the tutorials I followed: Configure Postfix to Use Gmail SMTP on Ubuntu https://easyengine.io/tutorials/linux/ubuntu-postfix-gmail-smtp/ How to Install and Configure Postfix as a Send-Only SMTP Server on Ubuntu 16.04 https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-install-and-configure-postfix-as-a-send-only-smtp-server-on-ubuntu-16-04 (I don't use a hosting provider, I just host off a machine I own)

Hey guys, I am not sure if I am posting this in the right place, please point me in the right direction otherwise. So as the title reads, is it possible to locate all the websites, platforms etc. that your email is registered to? I tried googling without any results, found one site that apparently had created a free software which helps you out, but it seemed a little sketchy. I can't search my inbox for different sites because I've cleaned it out. Do you guys have any suggestions what to do? Cheers, Markus

Mike Pence used a private email account when he was govenour of Indiana and got hacked last summer. source: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/03/03/mike-pence-used-private-email-indiana-governor-hacked/ So, let the political drama begin. Pence is being exposed as a hypocrite however outshines the fact that there are two bigger problems out there: Apparently government email addresses are too inconvenient for political users. Why this is I don't know but the fact that Clinton, Pence and others (In my home country of the Netherlands this happened as well) are using private email, shows that government email is not satisfying user demands. The consequence of this is that users are communicating sensitive info over unsecured channels. Government employees are not educated enough on the fact of (email)security. If users get a good reason why they are (pretty much) required to use government email. They should know why they shouldn't put sensitive info on private email addresses and why they should separate work and private life. So, another political scandal for the Trump administration aside. What do you guys think?

On some forums, you can simply unlink twitter and it will ask you to pick a username and password, here i get this: Sorry, there is a problem You cannot disassociate Twitter because you have no other method of signing in. Error code: 1C122/I Is there any way to do this? i'm happy to keep my username but i would like to set an individual password, and unlink from twitter. - Norman

Hey, just wondering why there are no good email apps and programs on windows. Now that there are more and more good 3rd party apps that allow you to check emails on, like spark, airmail, etc. They all seem to support everything but a windows pc. I mean, i do have a macbook, and apple products, which is still fine for me, but i work on pc computers, and really want to use those same email clients on my windows pc. Anyone know why? Or perhaps are they coming to PC? I only heard of newton coming to PC one day, but still no exact date. Also, if someone knows of a good app on windows other than like outlook or thunderbird, please let me know!

I was browsing through reddit, someone was saying that his apple ID had been leaked, (email as well as password) and the "hacker" logged into his account (in china). Another redditor suggested there was a site that can help you check whether your email had been pwned or not... I tried it, and two of my main account all had been pwned. One Gmail account and the other is an outlook account. The gmail account was leaked because of a data breach @ adobe. (October 2013) and the outlook account was leaked @ unreal engine forum (August 2016). Just to give you guys a heads up. Check yours asap. https://haveibeenpwned.com/

HI all, So I just set up a tumblr, and I want to have a link/button somewhere that, when you click it, it sends a formatted email to a given email address something like Subject: <tumblr username> wants xyz Body: this is a notification that <tumblr username> has clicked your link and, therefore wants xyz from you. I'm sure something like this can be done in the wide world of HTML5 but I'm not sure how i'd go about it. I'd imagine I'd have to create an email address specifically to fire off these templated addresses. but that's trivial. The one thing I'm really stuck on is, how I could get a tumblr user's profile name (example if their link is https://xyz.tumblr.com I'd want it to grab "xyz" and plug it into the email. Any ideas of how I'd impliment this?

Hello all, I was wondering if there are any people here who are knowledgeable when it comes to things like mail servers in Linux. I currently am running my own mail server, however, it is not configured in the most ideal way, as dovecot is using users to sign in and not a database with usernames and passwords. However, I am soon going to be starting another business, and being so, I will purchase a new domain. So, my question is, what would be the most ideal way to configure my mail server to use more than one domain when my users log in online and with their mobile devices? I was thinking something along the lines of a MySQL database, so, I did some research on that, but it was just a little over my head, as I do not know much about mail servers, other than the basics. If any of you know anything and would be willing to lend the help, I would be much obliged.

Total newbie question: Can I somehow track emails going out from webmail? I have a website and with the webhosting came email addresses that I could use. (is this even English?) My host is using roundcube as email client, or whatever the real term for this is. I know that there are services that allow tracking for Gmail and Outlook, but I couldn't see an option to "connect" my email from the website with Gmail or Outlook. I still want to know whether my emails have been opened or not, as this is essential to me for organizing the dates. I won't mind it if I have to do some non-trivial steps to achieve the tracking, as long as there is a descriptive guide to do that. By googling I found Piwik, but I have absolutely no idea what exactly it is and what I can do with it. Also, since English isn't my native tongue and I am totally new on this topic, I'd appreciate correcting my mistakes (using the wrong terms etc.) Thanks in advance!

Hello All! Thanks for taking at look at this thread, I have a rather odd project I would like to embark on, but i'm sure most of you can relate. I have an Amazon Echo that I would like to begin using as a family calendar system. As i'm sure many of you are aware, adding events to the calendar is very easy, so I would like to have everyone on my family be able to just yell an event out the the Echo and then everyone knows what's happening very quickly. The problem is that when you make an event, It gets added to whatever person's calendar who is signed in at the time. In this case, my mother's. She uses a Gmail calendar which I think is the best solution here, but please let me know if you have other ideas. Anyways, I want any event that is created with the Echo to have a list of guests that are automatically invited via email. This way, any event that is important enough to yell at the Echo, will also be forwarded to everyone in the household. Doesn't sound too difficult, but I can't seem to find any products or guides that will help me achieve this. I think there is a way to add groups to google calendar, but if I did it this way, It would require me to manually go into the events that have been created and forward them, which defeats the purpose of this project. If I need to run some sort of Echo Bridge or server I have a VM ready to take the job. If anyone can provide a guide for me to do this I would greatly appreciate it. Even if the solution is still somehow staring me in the face, and I just don't see it yet... Thanks for the support!

Ok so i need a little bit of a back story before i can explain this. A former employee(1) that worked here used Outlook (like many other people at my work do) for his emails and since he left, any business e-mails that he may have been responsible for were forwarded to our boss and was set to do this through outlook. So he(1) left and we got a replacement for his position(2) who was set up with a new outlook email address that was changed to her(2) name from the previous employee's(1) address, So i guess the new(2) person also got all the the e-mails. But now that person(2) is leaving and the old employee(1) is coming back to work for us, and I'm trying to figure out how to stop the emails for the rehired employee(1) from being sent to my boss, because she doesn't need to get them anymore now that he(1) is back working with us. We've tried looking through the out look rules and there's nothing that mentions the forwarding of emails. Is there another setting in Outlook that manages fwding emails?

hey guys so I have been using G-Mail as my main E-mail for work which means I send out a lot of e-mails every day with basically the same message.I have been getting blocked with this message every day though: Message rejected. See https://support.google.com/mail/answer/69585 for more information. Final-Recipient: rfc822;Action: failedStatus: 5.0.0Diagnostic-Code: smtp; Message rejected. See https://support.google.com/mail/answer/69585 for more information.Last-Attempt-Date: Mon, 01 May 2017 01:28:52 -0700 (PDT) This happens after varying amounts of use.Sometimes I can send about 30 emails a day and sometimes like today my email got blocked after the first mail I sent.Is there any way to fix this or does G-Mail just not like it when you use it like this?

I'm not sure if my question belongs in this subforum, but here it is: For a professional business email, would using a well-known email provider like gmail.com be better than using an email provider like zoho.com which is not that well-known, but includes more features and is a stronger overall business email for productivity, etc. The only downside would be the zoho.com name. I'm asking if employers would "take marks away" if I used a not-so-well known email provider like zoho.com. Thanks for reading.

I have a very basic flow set up. We have a form that our users fill out. A Flow is set up to send an e-mail out to my mailbox with their responses. It takes an average of 1 hour to receive the e-mail, The longest it has taken is 4-5 hours. I have checked all the settings and even changed the priority of the e-mail from Normal to High. Does anyone know what could be causing this delay?

email What is your personal email provider?
captain_to_fire posted a topic in Programs, Apps and Websites
I think for a lot of older people, they started out with AOL but for me, my first email account was Yahoo! Mail back in 2003. But then Yahoo's spam filters are terrible and messages like "Canadian pharmacy and Rolex for less" so I decided to delete my Yahoo! Mail in 2009 and go with Hotmail for a while. But then, almost everyone I know is using Gmail so in 2010 I created a Gmail which is indeed cleaner looking and ads are less obtrusive unlike Outlook and Yahoo. Outlook's obtrusive ads vs Gmail's ads Also with Gmail, every message I click, the message is front and center unlike in Outlook where ads obstruct the view plus the message sidebar can't be removed. My iCloud Mail is mostly for Amazon though. The only advantage I can see for iCloud Mail is that it's free and it doesn't have any ads so yay for privacy. -
